Woooo, I’m still alive in the REL! The quarterfinal round has completed, with yours truly and I Ain’t No Jok(ic) advancing to the Final Four. We should be able to cut down some nets for this! The quest for the golden trophy continues into the semis, with the bye week teams loaded up for what should be some pretty close matchups. Including the internal battle to get to the finals between Slim and I. The struggle is real! Expect massive amounts of yelling on the Podcast this week… Here’s how the quarterfinals wrapped up in week 20 in the REL, plus a preview of this week’s semi-finals:Please, blog, may I have some more?
Welcome to the semis! Hopefully your week 1 matchup of the playoffs didn’t go as badly as most of mine… And with a mix of my awful bracket in the Razzball Bracket Challenge, who’s ready for baseball season?! Haha, I keed, I’m still alive in a few leagues and still have my-Heels-as-champ pick alive and well.
And just like the Hoosiers – one of virtually all the teams in the Sweet Sixteen I got wrong – Victor Oladipo went ham over the weekend, including living up the RainbOladipo nickname for 45/5/3/3/2 against the Cavs Friday night. Shot an unreal 16-22 FG including banging 6 treys. With a game like that, I would’ve expected the Magic to BEAT the Cavs! But then again, they’re coached by Scott Skiles… SKIIIIIIIILES! Oladipo kept it up last night for 21/6/3/0/2, giving him 7 straight games with blocks and multi-blocks in the last 4. Better shot blocker than Serge right now! In per-game, Oladipo is still only ranked 45th (42nd in total) according to BBMonster, so he’s still finishing right at my pre-season rank. If only this team was coached by someone else, I would be going Eric Bledsoe-nuts for this guy in my 16-17 ranks. Scott Skiles – ruining basketball one player at a time… Here’s what else went down over the weekend in fantasy hoops action, plus The 7 Ahead for week 20 and the semi-finals of standard league H2H playoffs:Please, blog, may I have some more?
I don’t know BoBo! You don’t know Bobo! Let’s call the whole thing off!
Who is this Bojan Bogdanovic we’re seeing lately!? Once a disappearing act at the starting 2 in Brooklyn, BoBo has moved to the 3 and it’s done wonders for his numbers. As we all know, the Nets’ SG position is the NBA’s Bermuda Triangle, so once he broke free of the curse, he finally started rackin’ up da goods! After putting up 44 on the Sixers earlier in the week, it seeming like less of a fluke after going 26/3/5/1/0 against the Bulls last night in only 29 minutes. It was uber-efficient too, going 10-17 from the field with 2 treys and 4-4 FT. What’s surprising about this scoring outburst is in these 70 Pts the last two games, only 18 have come from treys. As a starting F, he’s 18.9/4.2/2.4 with 2.2 treys in 10 games, further proof that the Nets SG position has been hexed by Miss Cleo. “I have drawn the ThrAGNOF, fluke, relegated to D-League and sub-15 minute cards!” At 55% owned, BoBo the bear could easily still be on the wire in your league, as he was even out there in one of my RCLs. Unfortunately he didn’t fit my needs – read: I was out of moves. Ugh! I got antsy with streaming as my non-bye week playoff teams are getting hexed by Miss Cleo too! “I have drawn the suck, suck, brick, and suck card!” Here’s what else went down last night in NBA action:Please, blog, may I have some more?

RCL Playoffs, baby! Slim and I have mentioned several times on the Pod that the RCL difficulty level is sky high. Slim had an easier time in a $250 league than the RCLs! And we’re not saying this just to pump up your egos, Razzball Nation bee smawrt!
In our final regular season week, boy did I get a chance to play spoiler! I faced off against #1 overall RCL team Heat Apologist in the JB’s surprise RCL, and you’re welcome alligno, Nick is Razzy, Smokin’ Fine Cubans and Big-O-Miller! Shocked Mr. Apologist with a 6-2-1 victory bringing him down to tied-4th overall. Of course all playoff teams are still alive in the quest for the overall RCL title, as the crown goes to the team that won their fantasy playoffs and had the best regular season record amongst the winners. Best of luck to everyone in the playoffs, and my 4 RCL playoff teams hope to do some more spoilin’ these next 3 weeks!
Check out how your teams stacked up through the final week of the 2015-16 RCL Master Standings Table table which is now finalized, and here’s how the action went down in the nineteenth regular season week across our 22 RCL Leagues:Please, blog, may I have some more?

The tournament is finally here!
It’s time to make our NCAA Tourney Bracket picks and join the 4th annual Razzball Basketball Bracket Pool, which through the power of hyperlinks, can be joined by clicking it right there! Yours truly put together a 2nd out of 27 finish in last year’s Razzball Bracket, so take that everyone that probably follows college basketball more than me! Hah, I keed, I’ve been pretty invested this season with Chapel Hill looking so good. And look at my alma mater making it! UNCW getting a ridiculous draw playing same-state opponent Duke in a 4 vs. 13 matchup… Duke seems to choke when they’re not a #1 seed though, Gus Ayonin’! Although I dunno, I went to a UNCW game this year and watched a handful of their other games… It’s gonna be near impossible for them to keep up unless Duke misses all their 3s, since that’s all Duke can ever do on a basketball court…
So come one, come all, and the winner of the pool will get a spot in the Commenters REL League plus lots of notoriety on the Pod. Phrases like “___ is so much smarter than us!” and “____ will pick my lotto numbers next time!” How is that not the coolest prize ever, Hurley?!
Join the pool and set up your bracket today! Please, blog, may I have some more?
The quest for the golden jersey starts here! I’m now going to use that term to describe winning the REL title, just look at how sexy that graphic at the bottom is! I want to be on there! With the playoffs now set, we had some crazy jostling between teams #2-#5, with Slim sneaking in to second for a first-week bye. Damn that sneaky Slim! We also had a few high-priced waiver adds as we wind down the season and NBA opportunities are created. Here’s how week 19 wrapped up the regular season in the REL:Please, blog, may I have some more?
It’s hard going into the fantasy playoffs without thinking of that cliche soundbit over and over… I feel like the dude from Pi trying to write an open to this, the drill is plugged in!
But seriously, if you’re still reading at this point in the season, there’s a 95% chance you’re in the fantasy playoffs or in the running to win your Roto league. The other 5% of you… I love you. Thanks for reading until the bitter end!
As with the advice you’ll see anywhere, now is the time to move on from anything that isn’t nailed down, no more stashing unless you have a bye, and it’s week-to-week, all-hands-on-deck (can-I-come-up-with-any-more-linked-together-phrases?!) here on out. I’m all over the place with emotions right now, I can’t focus on a succinct open! I shocked the world by winning the reg. season of the Slim vs. JB RCL, got another playoff berth in the REL, UNCW (my alma mater) is playing in-state rival and a buncha-crooks Duke, just had my first epic fantasy baseball draft… There’s so much going on! And with March Madness obviously cutting into our basketball time, don’t sleep on your fantasy hoops postseason and start partyin’ it up like James Harden when your season is on the line. I don’t care about getting my 14 over 3 upset, I need to get to the semis! So stay locked and loaded, don’t let the NCAA Cinderellas these first 2 rounds distract you, and let’s go out and bring home the bacon. Here’s what went down over the weekend in fantasy hoops action, plus The 7 Ahead for Week 20 – the first week of the playoffs for standard H2H leagues:Please, blog, may I have some more?
Ya know, Brandon Knight and The Dark Knight metaphor work pretty well as a parallel to my time here on Razzball Hoops. In 13-14, Knight was one of my first bolder calls that panned out (hey, it’s easier for me to forget the bad ones OK! …cough, MCW, cough…), exploding onto the scene as the Bucks PG like Batman Begins. I guess that implies I exploded onto the scene, let’s just say I feel like I was better than Batman & Robin, so that’s a plus… Then he was somehow even better for most of 14-15; the rare sequel that’s better than the original in The Dark Knight. In my second season, I was the only ‘pert to have #OccupyDraymondGreen top 100! Take that, Christopher Nolan! Then he was traded to the Suns, and thus far this season, we’ve only seen flashes of the former brilliance. Exactly like The Dark Knight Rises. He got a bigger budget with his max deal, and also got a longer run time. And while Anne Hathaway is hot and all, there’s a lot of things that just didn’t make sense. Only time will tell if Knight can break this analogy, because the next stop for Batman is this horrific looking dawn of justice movie hooblah. Whatever the hell it’s called… Why in the hell is Affleck going from Oscar-winning director to star of a CGI clusterF$*#?!?!?! Not like he needs the money! Knight returned last night (hah!) for 10/2/5/0/1 in 25 minutes off the bench after nearly 2 months out due to a groin. He looked pretty good out there, even though he shot only 2-9. Was cutting hard and ran into a mess of big men to scuffle for a board, so he’s not just coasting until the end of the season. Good timing before the fantasy playoffs! Hopefully you were able to hold; while I think he’s gonna be ho-hum compared to his numbers pre-injury with the Suns tanking, I do think he’ll be must-own. So here’s to hoping he’s finally healthy, and buck the trend of both the Batman franchise, or movies by Christopher Nolan. I have to buck the trend of this analogy too! Now THERE’S some pressure for 16-17 ranks! Here’s what else went down last night in fantasy hoops action:Please, blog, may I have some more?
