You have a family. You have friends, colleagues, lovers. Yet when it comes to home, you don’t go to those people. You come here. Welcome home, grab a chair and join a Razzball Commenter League. While ESPN is the worldwide leader in sports-related stuff and junk, we aren’t using them. We’ll be over at Yahoo! Fantastical Sporticus doing a Rotisserie Auction League. If that doesn’t blow your grey matter, each league will be 12 Teams, with the positions PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL, BEN, BEN, BEN and the categories of FG%, FT%, 3PM, PTS, REB, AST, ST, BLK, TOV. Most of the other settings are Yahoo defaults, although we also want to keep the days to protest a trade to one day rather than two. Every team will have those settings to allow for consistency, texture and taste. Oh, wait, I am reading a recipe.
As far as the draft goes, the Nomination Time Limit will be 30 seconds, Bid Time Limit will be 10 seconds, and each team will have 200 smackers to play with. Every league is public, so if you are afraid of the FBI looking at your team, you have been notified. Some of you have said you wanted to join in, so we know we can at least fill up one league, but I want to have a thousand leagues, spreading across the land and destroying Yahoo’s servers. If we can’t do that, any number of players is fine. We just want readers who love fantasy basketball, enjoy the community here, want to try their hand in a new league with new players, and who also respect each other enough to know that friendly trash talk is fine, but hateful or disruptive comments are not welcome.
We also need some folks to act as commissioners. If you want to be a commish like Michael Chiklis, use this link to go to the Yahoo page and create a league based on the above categories. Once you have set it up with password: razzball, post the league name and league ID in the comments. As league organizer, it will be your job to set up the league identically to the others, to keep an eye out for hiccups and to be the liaison between your league and the Razzball brain trust.
Each league will have a winner, and each winner will be compared to the other winners to find one uber-winner. Every winner will get a little something, and the giganto-winner will get a bigger little something, EDIT: this handsome jacket (you will feel fantastic). No, the prize is not hair trimmings, that’s weird. It’s a surprise, like an unwanted pregnancy.
