Good morning/afternoon/night sports fans. Welcome back to another special edition of the Saturday Daily Notes presented by Razzball. We had a bit of a rivalry game (I guess?) between the Pistons and the 76ers last night, with Andre Drummond and Joel Embiid jawing at each other over social media then battling it out on the court. Drummond had a great game going for 14/11/6/5/1 on 4-for-8 FG and 6-for-8 FT and only one turnover, but Embiid had 25/10/0/1 with six turnovers on 7-for-21 FG and 11-for-12 FT along with the all-important win. It was a battle between two of the game’s best centers and hopefully a matchup we’ll be seeing many times going forward. Anyway, here’s what else I saw last night in fantasy basketball:

Robert Covington: 25/8/3/2/2 on 8-for-19 FG, 3-for-3 from FT and a juicy six three pointers. Only two turnovers too. Rainbow Covington is a man of the people.
Dario Saric: 17/7/1 on 6-for-11 FG with 3-for-3 FT and two threes. Saric is alright, but I think I prefer Alexandra Daddario.
JJ Redick: 18/2/7/1 on 6-for-10 FG and 5-for-6 FT with one three. There isn’t much to say about JJ that hasn’t already been said. He’s efficient, he’s prolific, and he’s on a team suited to his strengths.
Tobias Harris: In a supporting role to the beast that is Drummond, Tobias continued his outstanding season. He had 27/7/1/1 on 9-for-15 FG, 6-for-7 FT and three threes. You’ve got Toby kidding me!
Reggie Jackson: 25/3/4 on a fantastic 9-for-13 FG and 5-for-6 FT with two threes. He’s playing really well, but you have to expect some regression to hit fairly hard in the FG% department. Regardless, he’s been a nice own this season.
Avery Bradley: 6/2/2 on 3-for-11 shooting. Last year’s rebounding was a mirage, but Avery is still a primary scorer on this Pistons team. But the FG% might not be too pretty.
Boban Marjanovic: 6/2 on 2-for-3 shooting in five minutes. Let Boban play!
Kyrie Irving: 19/0/5/2 on 8-for-14 FG and two threes as he helped lead the Celtics over the Suns. A tall order!
Jaylen Brown: 17/0/2/2/1 on 4-for-8 FG, 6-for-8 FT and with three threes. Dude is a sophomore but feels like a veteran presence out on the court.
Marcus Smart: 13/4/7/0/1 on 3-for-6 shooting, 5-for-6 FT and two threes as he follows up a dud with what feels like an insane game for him. His FG% is absolutely revolting, but he puts up plenty of counting stats other than points if you need them.
Marcus Morris: 17/8 on 6-for-14 shooting off the bench. Marky Marcus and the Celtics Bunch!!??
Al Horford: The REAL MVP went for 14/5/11/0/1 on 6-for-10 shooting with two threes. It’s always nice when the big guy drops a little extra in your dimebag.
Devin Booker: 38/4/5 on 16-for-29 shooting with 3-for-3 FT and three threes for good measure. One of the very very few things for Suns fans to be excited about.
Marquese Chriss: 2/2/2/1. Formerly a thing Suns fans might’ve been excited about.
TJ Warren: 19/7/1/4 on 8-for-21 shooting as TJ put up a tender line in the loss. A little inefficient tonight, but a great source for high-percentage points and boards as long as you don’t expect threes (though he did get one tonight on two attempts).
Tyson Chandler: It’s amazing that you can watch a sequence like this and still realize that Tyson Chandler put up 14/18/3 on 7-for-10 shooting at the end of the day. He’s no longer a big impact player and is barely fantasy relevant unless you need rebounds and nothing else. Nevertheless, it feels like a waste to see him rot away on a bottom feeder like the Suns. Hopefully he goes to a contender.
JJ Barea: 21/4/10 on 8-for-12 shooting and four threes as he was the leading scorer for the Mavericks off the bench as they laid a beat down on the struggling Clippers. JJ’s been a pretty underrated asset this season.
Dirk Nowitzki: Disco Dirk danced his way to a nice 16/3/1/1/1 line on 5-for-6 shooting with a perfect 5-for-5 form three. Nukem!
Devin Harris: 15/3/3/1 on 2-for-5 FG and 10-for-11 FT off the bench. He’s been producing lately, but he still only played 20 minutes. More than anything, it seems like he’s just on a hot streak. I wouldn’t invest too heavily in his recent performances.
Lou Williams: Led the way with 18/0/6 on 4-for-16 FG and 9-for-10 FT. Lou has always been a stellar source of efficient FT production, and he will be leaned on very very heavily with all the injuries facing the Clippers.
DeAndre Jordan: 14/17/0/0/2 on 6-for-7 shooting. Pretty standard DJ line.
Wesley Johnson: 7/2/2/1/1 on 2-for-8 shooting. Wes is only good for defensive stats, which is fine if you need them.
Sam Dekker: HUGE game for the ones out there that thought he’d be the dude benefitting from Blake Griffin’s absense. 0/3/0 on 0-for-7 shooting with two turnovers. The Clippers have Danilo Gallinari, Patrick Beverley, Blake Griffin, and Milos Teodosic sitting out for extended periods. That’s 4/5 of the starting lineup……. yikes…….
Dennis Schroder: 24/3/6/1 on 11-for-24 shooting and a three as he guides the terrible Hawks to a win over the more-terrible Nets.
Ersan Ilyasova: Not a great game, but he took advantage of injures to Dewayne Dedmon, Mike Muscala and John Collins to put up a respectable 9/11/1 on 3-for-11 shooting. Could be a good source of scoring with the aforementioned big men out.
Luke Babbitt: Whipped his hare back and forth to post a gamey 20/2/1 line on 7-for-9 shooting with four threes. As long as the Hawks bigs are suffering from injury, I’d follow Luke down the Babbitt hole.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson: 9/4/3 on 3-for-9 shooting off the bench as he managed to play after leaving his last game with injury. At least he’s back!
Spencer Dinwiddie: 15/6/9/0/3 on 5-for-10 shooting with three threes. He should be owned.
Allen Crabbe: It feels like everyone on the Nets is just okay. Nobody is a star and none of the main guys are necessarily trash. But nobody is that great. Crabbe is the embodiment of that. He went for 12/3/2 on 4-for-8 FG with three threes.
LeBron James: 34/2/12/0/1, 13-for-22 FG, 8-for-8 FT. But five turnovers and no threes. This dude sucks.
Kevin Love: 20/11/2 on 7-for-12 shooting with three threes. KLove’s been in a groove lately.
JR Smith: Laid pipe all over the Grizzlies as he posted a 17/5/2/3 line on 6-for-8 shooting with four threes.
Dwyane Wade: 16/2/4/1/2 on 6-for-9 shooting. LeBron said Wade is probably the favourite for the Sixth Man of the Year award. I’d normally stay snarky and say the Cavs’ best sixth man has been Kyle Korver (9/2/2/0/4 tonight with three threes), but Wade’s actually been on a roll recently, and maybe he’s finally finding his comfort zone playing with LeBron again.
Tyreke Evans: 31/7/12/1 on 10-for-20 FG and 6-for-6 FT with five threes. Maybe Tyreke is actually the one who deserves the Most Improved Player award. It’s too bad the Grizzlies are free falling well out of playoff contention.
Marc Gasol: 27/6/4/3/2 as he rainbows in the loss. Take that, David Fizdale!!!
JaMychal Green: 16/7/2/0/1 on 7-for-13 shooting with two threes. He’s worth owning if he’s out there on the wire.
Giannis Antetokounmpo: 33/13/5/3/1 on 8-for-15 shooting and 17-for-22 (!) FT. No threes and only two turnovers. The Bucks grabbed the win over the Kings tonight and this probably means Giannis is back in the MVP conversation, as he should be.
Khris Middleton: Not to be outdone by Meghan Markle, Middleton popped for a 24/2/1/1 line on 9-for-15 shooting. You tell her, Khris!
John Henson: 8/8/1/1/2 on 3-for-4 shooting. The Son of Hen strikes again!
Malcolm Brogdon: 13/1/5 on 5-for-12 shooting as he continues to play a bench role behind Eric Bledsoe (19/4/2/2, 4-for-9 FG). Brog is holding value, though I’d still probably try and trade him if I owned him.
Zach Randolph: 22/7/2 on 10-for-15 shooting as he was the leading scorer in the Kings loss. Willie Cauley-Stein (3/0/2 in 8 minutes) left the game with a back injury, but Randolph has been valuable even with everyone healthy. Run, don’t walk, to grab Randolph off waivers if he’s still available.
Buddy Hield: The other Steph Curry was the second leading Kings scorer as he went for 19/6/4/1 on 6-for-12 shooting with 4 threes. He’s kinda THRAGNOF-y.
De’Aaron Fox: 14/6/3/1 on 5-for-10 shooting. It’s not unrealistic to expect a second-half improvement from Fox. He’s been getting plenty of first-team experience and has held his own.
Lonzo Ball: The future GOAT went for 9/9/5/2 with a three in tonight’s loss to the Nuggets on 4-for-10 shooting. He also had five turnovers. It’s extremely easy to hate on the kid, but he’s averaging 9/7/7/1.4/0.8 on the season. Yes, the percentages are pathetic, but you’re a fool if you don’t think he’s been valuable. Both to the Lakers and to any fantasy team he’s on.
Brandon Ingram: 20/4/0/1 on 6-for-14 FG and 8-for-8 FT. Five turnovers as it was still a bit of a raw performance, but Ingram is playing considerably better than he did in his rookie season.
Brook Lopez: 15/5/3/0/1 on 7-for-14 shooting. Why doesn’t he like rebounding?
Kyle Kuzma: 13/10/2 on 5-for-13 shooting tonight. Larry Nance Jr (4/6 on 2-for-4 FG) might be the starter, but Kuzma will still be getting plenty of minutes.
Jamal Murray: 28/4/4/2 on 8-for-20 FG and 7-for-8 FT with five threes. A beautiful performance from the kid as he carried the Nuggets to the win. Those who held patiently are getting rewarded.
Kenneth Faried: Probably gonna get a lot of run with Paul Millsap out, and used the minutes to post a 13/9/1/0/1 line on 6-for-7 shooting. Grab him if he’s on the wire.
Trey Lyles: 18/3/0/0/1 on 6-for-9 FG with two threes and 4-for-4 FT in 29 minutes off the bench. A big game, but I’m not convinced this is something that can be continued going forward.
Mason Plumlee: 12/6/6 on 5-for-8 shooting. He’s been valuable in previous years and is great for out-of-position assists, so maybe he’ll provide a bit of value while Millsap (and Nikola Jokic) are out.
Damian Lillard: 29/5/8/1 on 11-for-25 shooting with four threes as the Trail Blazers fell short to the Pelicans. Maybe he’ll be an all star this year!
CJ McCollum: 17/4/3 on 8-for-22 shooting. Not his best game.
Shabazz Napier: 15/6/7/3 on 4-for-10 shooting off the bench as he bounces back from a string of duds. It’s still hard to trust Shabazz unless you’re desperate for PG help.
Meyers Leonard: 17/2/3/1 on 7-for-9 shooting in 15 minutes as he was the only non-guard on the Blazers to score more than 8 points. No Anthony Davis, no problem!
DeMarcus Cousins: DMC ran with the extra opportunity and posted a 38/8/0/0/1 line on 14-for-28 FG with two threes as he guided the Pelicans to a victory.
Rajon Rondo: 12/6/10/1 on 5-for-9 shooting with two threes! Rondo has shown great chemistry with Cousins in the past, but he’ll still mostly just be an assists specialist.
Jrue Holiday: 17/5/7 on 8-for-18 shooting. I still think people are underrating Jrue a bit. As long as he’s healthy, he should be roughly a top-50 guy.
E’Twaun Moore: 19/1/1 on 6-for-7 shooting with four threes. He doesn’t do a lot, but he’s a decent source of efficient points.
