Like previously noted, we had a draft in the Yahoo! Friends and Family League. I could go through and critique all the teams, but that doesn’t sound like something a friend or family member should do! So instead, I reached out to the managers for their responses. Shockingly, some wrote back! For reference, here’s a […]

Tobias Harris
I couldn’t go with Playoff P, now could I? Yes, I did tease this commentary a bit with yesterday’s rankings, and you might think I’m being a bit harsh on the Sixers… but it’s nothing that hasn’t been already said by the fanbase itself, so therefore I absolve myself of any sins. Plus, I make […]

Buy/Sell: The Nonchalant Defensive Omen
November 6, 2024 | 2024-25 Fantasy Basketball, Fantasy Basketball Buy/Sell | 4 Commentsby: Kostas
Sometimes there are signs that things in the world are not going as they are supposed to go. Like the equilibrium of the cosmic powers is at an imbalance. Older civilizations relied on omens to determine this, such as the flight of the birds or natural disasters. In our modern era, we have more advanced […]

A new season is here with the usual excitement, unexpectedly good and bad team starts and the drama that follows the NBA. However, a constant in recent years are the preseason hype videos for Ben Simmons, who is apparently always on track to recover from another injury. The narrative is the same. His personal coach […]

Early Buy Low And Sell High Candidates

The beginning of the fantasy hoops season is in many ways the most exciting stretch of the year. In your league, everyone is engaged and still confident their team has a chance to win. Activity is at an all-time high. In the NBA, some players look poised to have career years. Others look like they’re […]

The Brow Rises
March 11, 2024 | 2023-24 Fantasy Basketball, Fantasy Basketball Daily Notes |by: Jay
Much like a fire (THE FIRE RISES), or even the ancient legend of the Phoenix (not the Suns), the Brow has taken the season and pretty much flipped the normal script and risen again as something new. During the preseason, the 2023-24 Lakers were pretty much like any other Lakers teams since the bubble; they […]

December 13, 2023 | 2023-24 Fantasy Basketball, Fantasy Basketball Buy/Sell |by: Kostas
I always like humorous interactions that result from the NBA ecosystem and one such occurrence was made possible because Steve Kerr complained about the loud music the Phoenix Suns played during the game. And I quote “In this building, you can’t hear anything because it’s like a club, it’s like a South Beach club out […]

Despite the very modest reception the idea of the In Season Tournament got when it was first introduced last year, it has proven a very entertaining addition to the NBA calendar and more importantly has increased the level of intensity and competition during the regular season. Even during the group phase, the fact that the […]

Taking Offense on a Tuesday Recap
November 22, 2023 | 2023-24 Fantasy Basketball, Fantasy Basketball Daily Notes | 2 Commentsby: kelder
Let’s go it be the Tuesday recap! I’m not really offended, just talking about this first game: Holy Offense: Pacers over Hawks The score was 157-152 and there was no overtime. Woulda been a fun game for Jeff Van Gundy to call, talk about lack of defense all game. Lots of fantasy stuffing here, obviously. […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Look, I was very satisfied with the last episode of “As the Harden Turns…” (the actual turning speed depends on the girth of his fat suit) but no one can argue that actually watching the 76ers play is probably just as entertaining as watching the 76ers not play, so let’s consider last night a wash. And despite Harden not being allowed to get on the team plane (is “No U!” a legitimate DNP reason?), the debut of the newly unstoppable pic n’ pop duo of Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo definitely lived up to expectations, with Dame finishing the night with 39 points with 4 assists and 8 rebounds, 12 of those points coming in the fourth quarter (with two free throws that iced the game) and there’s this below:
Please, blog, may I have some more? Atlantic Division Risers and Fallers
October 25, 2023 | 2023-24 Fantasy Basketball | 4 Commentsby: kelder
Man, I just realized that the NBA has six divisions. In the guise of journalistic integrity, I am contractually obligated to write one of these for every division now…
Again, if you missed the Central Division earlier in the offseason, I’m not focusing on the guys for risers in the early rounds… I’m looking for guys to make a leap and targets throughout the rest of the season. Teams are in order of how I predict they will finish. I find that order more fulfilling.
