Good morning, sportsfans! We’re back at it again with the second installment of Baids’s patented Saturday Daily Notes! As you may have gleaned from the title, tonight’s short schedule belonged to Karl-Anthony Towns. The KAT was purring tonight, going for 31 points and 12 rebounds on 11-for-18 shooting with 7-for-8 FT shooting for good measure. Towns is killing it this year, putting up top-10 value with ease. The Timberwolves are looking mighty scary so far, and they might just get better. But enough about KAT, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy basketball:

Andrew Wiggins – Maple Jordan had himself a solid night, going for 23/3/2 on 9-for-14 shooting with two threes. Strangely enough, Wiggins was shooting under 60% on his free throws thus far, but he did go 3-for-4 tonight to raise it slightly. This is likely just an early-season aberration and it’ll correct itself soon. Either way, Wiggins is still a solid scorer, even if he doesn’t do much else. Expect him to improve a bit as the season goes on and as he gets more acclimated to his teammates.

Taj Gibson – 12/10/4/2/2 and only one turnover as he produced a nice little rainbow for his owners. He’s pretty much been what people expected of Gorgui Dieng this season.

Jeff Teague – 11/3/10/3/1 with five turnovers. People shouldn’t be expecting much in terms of scoring from Teague, considering that he’s playing with three ball-dominant stars in Towns/Wiggins/Butler, but the dimes will definitely be there.

Jimmy Butler – Speaking of which, 4/5/7 on 1-for-7 shooting. C’mon, it’s Jimmy. It’s a blip on the radar. Don’t worry.

Dirk Nowitzki – Dirk “Tall Baller from the G” Nowitzki went for only seven points and 3 boards on the night, but how can you not love this guy!?

Salah Mejri – Carlisle worked his magic and started Mejri tonight versus the Twolves. This is damning of Nerlens Noel (2/4/0/1/2 in 14 minutes) and not even good news for Mejri, who sucks. He had zero points and three rebounds with a -10 in only eight minutes. Don’t bother with him.

Dennis Smith Jr – Another solid game going 18/5/1/1 on 7-for-15 shooting with three threes. Very underrated rookie, in real life and in fantasy.

Harrison Barnes – 17/4/2 on 8-for-13 shooting. He is what he is. Not much to say.

Devin Harris – 15/0/1/2 on 5-of-8 shooting with two threes. A solid game, but kind of ‘meh’ in the scheme of things. The Dallas PG shituation is likely one to avoid until Seth Curry makes his return (start stashing).

Denver Nuggets – In a game I thought would be far more competitive, the Nugs got blown out. It was close at the half, but it just fell apart from there. No starter scored more than nine, and with no notable ancillary stats, I won’t even bother mentioning these scorers by name. Granted, it was against the Greatest Team Ever Assembled in the Warriors, but it was still a bad showing.

Will Barton – 21/8/5/1 off the bench in a game he was +12. For comparisons sake, the starting SF for the Nugs was -37. Either way, I’m still not thrilled about Will.

Emmanuel Mudiay – 15/5/7 on 4-of-10 shooting as he continues his mini resurgence. Maybe he’s just being showcased for a potential Bledsoe trade, but he still might be worth owning for people out there desperate for PG help.

Kevin Durant – 25/7/7 as he paced the Warriors. Nobody on Golden State needed to play more than 30 minutes.

Draymond Green – 15/7/8/2/1 on 6-of-8 shooting with three threes. Nice showing from Draymond in what has been a bit of a disappointing season thus far. Looks like the Warriors are starting to click again.

Steph Curry – 22/0/11/2 on 7-of-14 shooting with five threes. Such is life when you’re the greatest shooter the league has ever seen.

Nick Young – Five points on poor shooting. If you have him and you’re not absolutely positively desperate for threes, move on.

David Nwaba – Just as he started to look good, he goes down with an ankle injury. It doesn’t look pretty, so best to just avoid.

Jerian Grant – The PG situation in Chicago gets that much more murky as Grant goes for 13/8/9 on 4-of-9 shooting and thoroughly outplayed Kris Dunn (4/4/3/3 on 2-of-9 shooting). If I had to pick one, I’d go Grant, but I wouldn’t feel great about owning either of these guys.

Justin Holiday – 18/9/1/3/1 as he paced the Bulls in a close loss to the Pelicans. Justin’s been great this season and owners should continue to play this guy with confidence.

Denzel Valentine – 16/6/3 on 6-of-10 shooting as he picks up where Nwaba left off. He’s a lovely name, but I want to see just a bit more consistency before I pick him up. One to keep an eye on for sure though.

Anthony Davis – 27/16/0/03 with 11-for-17 FG and 4-for-4 FT. The Brow! But he did play 41 minutes in this OT win. Please stay healthy! Knock on wood!!!

DeMarcus Cousins – 25/11/4/1/1 but only on 6-for-20 shooting. BUT, 11-for-13 FT. In 43 minutes. What a game.

Jrue Holiday – 10/5/6 on 5-for-15 shooting as he didn’t exactly outplay Jameer Nelson (13/5/5/4 on 5-for-8 FG). You’re still my boy, Jrue.

Bogdan Bodganovic – 14/1/1 on 6-for-7 shooting. To all the commenters out there, yeah, he’s probably worth picking up.

Buddy Hield – 13 points eight rebounds, but with only one three. The rest of his game isn’t coming around like we hoped it would, but it’s still only 10 games into an 82 game season. Unless you’re hurting, I’d hold.

De’Aaron Fox – 14/0/4 on 5-10 shooting. George Hill who?

Zach Randolph – 19/4/4 with four turnovers and two threes on 8-for-14 shooting. Might provide some low-key scoring, but not much going on with Z-bo these days.

Stanley Johnson – 8/2/1 in 23 minutes. Get this guy out of my face.

Andre Drummond – 16/19/4/3/1 on 7-for-10 shooting and 2-for-4 FT. Not the greatest FT night, but holy shid has this guy improved his FT stroke. Even if his ~75% doesn’t last, just coming this far (14-for-16 the other night!!!!!!) is remarkable. If he can manage to shoot even 60%, his value skyrockets.

Tobias Harris – Toby’s doing big things, baby. 20/5/5/1/1 on 7-for-14 shooting. Toby!

Avery Bradley – 24/2/3/1/1 with five turnovers. He’s starting to come out of his cage, and he’s been doing just fine. I hope you bought low.

James Ennis – 13/5/2 on 5-for-6 shooting with three threes in another solid game as he starts for the Grizzlies. He’s not exciting, but he’s putting up some numbers and sometimes that’s all you need.

Tyreke Evans – 20/3/4 as he continues his strong play. He’s a great fit for the Grizz and he’s been killing it so far this season.

Mike Conley – 22/1/3 as he led his team to a narrow win over the Clippers. He played well and looked good, but I can’t help but feel anxious about him going forward. His efficiency is down, he had a huge career year last year, and he’s 30 years old. I’m not advocating anything crazy here, but I wouldn’t mind getting top-25ish value in return for Killer Mike.

Brandan Wright – 13/9/2/1/4 in a great game off the bench. He’s not really worth owning right now, but if I owned Marc Gasol, I’d definitely keep Wright on my watch list in case an injury happens.

Chandler Parsons – 10/4/3/2/2. Great rainbow, but screw this guy (unless he starts doing this consistently!)

Blake Griffin – 30/11/2/2/1 with five turnovers on 10-of-17 shooting. What a season he’s having.

DeAndre Jordan – 12/10/3/0/3 on 6-for-7 shooting. No Chris Paul isn’t killing him, but DJ just doesn’t feel as rock-solid as he used to.

Patrick Beverley – 23/7/2/1 on 8-for-18 shooting with zero turnovers. He only went 1-for-8 from three point land, but we’ll take it. Still a great game. Unfortunately, Austin Rivers (7/3/3/2) can’t say the same.

Danilo Galinari – 10/4/6 on 4-of-10 shooting. Not a great game, but Gallo has been grossly overlooked this year. Injury history aside, he’s in a perfect situation and could potentially put up some fantastic stats this year. Yahoo ranked him outside their top 100, and ESPN ranked him outside their top 75. I think if it breaks right for him, Gallo could easily finish in the top 50.

Well that about does it for this week’s edition of Any Given Saturday! Hope y’all enjoyed, and as always, feel free to leave questions/compliments/stock tips in the comments. Cheers!
