The Player Rater is a tool to evaluate the performance of a player using a single number. This is not a perfect tool and will not guarantee victory in fantasy, but is useful to help improve and evaluate your team.

In each category of scoring, a number is calculated to represent the average total in that category. If a player has the average, his rating in that category is 0.00. The numbers represent how much a player is above or below the average.

If the rating is positive, that player is an above-average fantasy player in that category. If the rating is negative that player is below-average. The sum of all ratings in each category gives us a number (the PR), and then we rank the players accordingly.

I have not included turnovers, as the evaluation in PR is very controversial in my opinion, so if you’re in a league with turnovers, you must keep in mind this.

If you have any question let me know.

    thanks

    • @Ricky: Hello!,
      1- crowder
      2- hield

    Hi Tony, Valentine or Mirotic?

    • @Des87: Without question, Mirotic. Valentine is good in 3pts so far, but with the return of LaVine he will see his minutes go down, moreover he kill your FG%. If Mirotic plays 25-30 min, he can be a top-70 value.

someone offered me dennis smith + tyler johnson for my convington + jerian grant 16 team h2h good or bad?

  4. Hi, say no, simple. Dennis Smith is a worst player that it seems. He shots a low percentage (37% FG and 66% FT), that destroys a lot of his fantasy value. Instead, Covington is (so far) one of the steals in fantasy this season, his numbers speaks for themselves 3.5 3pts, 16.1 pts, 5.9 reb, 1.7 steals and 0.8 blk, with a brutal TS% of 67.7. This is a second round value. He can cool off, but in the worst case to a third round value.

thanks tony your awesome! Appreciate the analysis. Happy holidays to you!

    Hey Tony,

    Looks for this new team?

    Mudiay
    McCollum
    Kyle Anderson
    Jeff Green
    Marcus Morris
    Wiggins
    Vucevic
    Alex Len
    Darius Miller
    JaMychal Green
    Kevin Durant
    Ish Smith
    IL – Larry Nance Jr

I need to pile up 3s and Steals any player I can trade for some of my players? 20-men-league 9cat.

    • @Kris: Hello, the candidates to trade would be Kyle Anderson, Darius Miller or Ish Smith. There is a group of player very interesting in 3pts and steals.
Nicola Mirotic, he come back next week, the last season he made 1.8 3pts and 0.8 stl. Another option would be Bogdan Bogdanovic 1.1 3pts and 0.9 steals and a lot of upside, or Jordan Clarkson with 1.2 3pts and 0.8 stl. And with risk but a cheap options: Dillon Brooks (0.8 3pts; 1.1 stl), JR Smith (1.7 3pts; 1.0 stl) or Mbah a Moute (1.1 3pts; 1.5 stl).

        @Tony RP:

This is what I’m talking about. Well, based on my team composition, it’s an AST punt team so might as well throw my point guards.

        • @Kris: I know, add to the list Mudiay and a possible trade combination adding Nance jr.

  7. Guardian says:

    Hey Tony,

My team is on a downward spiral from a strong start:

    Collison
    Dunn
    Brogdon
    Teodosic
    G. Harris
    J. Richardson
    LeVert
    Porter
    Prince
    Durant
    Portis
    Love
    Henson
    Noel

    ROTO 8CAT 16 TEAM

What trades should i go for, how can i salvage this team?

    • @Guardian: Without doubt Noel and obviously Teodosic are hurting your team. We don’t know when Teodosic came back, according to Woj, he’s not close to a return. You can try trade Noel and/or Collison for a center, who? Well, maybe JCollins, DHoward, PGasol or MGortat.

      • Guardian says:
        (link)

        @Tony RP:

The only problem is that noone wants Noel when he can’t even play 5m.

Perhaps I could turn Collison into J. Collins+1 or straight up for PGasol. I hate Howard with that FT%

        Thanks for the insight

        • @Guardian: Great! That could be a good move.

i have my turner + green (mem) he offered me his griffin + chriss thumbs up or down?

    • @hassan_blackside: Thumbs down, it’s only a matter of time before Turner bounce back top-20 fantasy value, or more. Griffin is a great player but this season he’s shooting 41%FG, that is very painful for a PF and Chriss has a potential to be a fourth round value and upside in steals, 3pts and blocks, but if I have to choose I go with Turner.
