I was born and raised in Los Angeles, a city that is 47.5% Latino. A beneficial thing would’ve been to study the Espanol. I was a knuckle head, though. In many respects, I still am, but that’s a conversation for another day. You know who also lives in Los Angeles and does not speak the Espanol so well? None other than our Great Leader, Grey Albright. But, he’s no knuckle head. Maybe a cackle head. Anyways, if you don’t believe me about Grey’s Espanol skills, click HERE. Ok, enough about Grey. So, like I was saying. I live in Los Angeles and suck at the Espanol. Wouldn’t you know that my wife and I named our girl, Mira. I really didn’t think much about until we would be out in a public place and yell out her name, “Mira! Mira!” Why the hell is everybody looking at me? Why the hell am I writing about my non-Espanol skills? Well…..last night Uno Dos Trey Burke did this:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
42 | 1 | 12 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 3/9 | 1*/31 | 1/1 |
A 40-burger!!! Too bad 40-taco or 40-burrito don’t really work. Trey played 41 minutes in a game that went to OT. The fact that Trey made three tres just makes my heart tickle. The Universe is dope sometimes. Anyways, Trey has always been able to ball. Earlier in his career with Utah, he was getting over 30 minutes of run a game and scoring close to 13 points, grabbing 3 boards, dishing out 5 dimes, and draining 1.6 downtowners. He was not an efficient shooter, though. 37% from the field and 32% from downtown. This season? 51% from the field and 39% from downtown. Now, the hilarious thing…..or disgusting if you are a Knicks fan…..is that Trey has been the best guard on the roster all season long, but Hornacek decided that Jarrett Jack gave NY the best chance to win. Ha! So, when the Knicks were trying to win, they played Jack. Now, that they are trying to tank, the Knicks are playing their best player at point guard.
Here’s what else I saw last night:
Want the best tools and projections to help dominate your league? Check out the Stocktonator, the byproduct of Rudy and machine making love. Click HERE for a FREE 3-day trial.
Rudy has been hard at work in the lab. His latest creation? DAILY LINEUPS PAGE. So good. So smooth. So helpful. He decided to go with the Sonny Bono red tint, while I prefer the blue tint. What say you?
Michael Beasley:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
27 | 8 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 3 | 1/4 | 12/22 | 2/2 |
For those that wear contacts or glasses, you all know about the phoropter. I don’t even need to explain the device or link a pic. All I need to say is, “A or B….B or C….C or A.” For those of you that live life without contacts or glasses….screw you. Anyways, experiencing the phoropter is similar to owning Beasley. What’s the next lens going to be? Was A better or was B better? So much uncertainty and anxiety. 23 points one night, then 8 points the next.
Courtney Lee:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
2 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0/2 | 1/5 | 0 |
Seriously. What happened to this dude? Did he log onto Ancestry.com and find out that he was related to Robert E?
Dwight Howard:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
23 | 13 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 6 | 0/1 | 9/15 | 5/5 |
For the month of March, 20.4 points, 12.2 boards, 1.6 blocks, and 63% from the charity stripe. Fringe top 50 player for fantasy over that span.
Kemba Walker:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
31 | 2 | 7 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 4/12 | 11/21 | 5/5 |
Last five games: 31, 24, 46, 24, and 24 points. Stat padder. Just playing. Kemba is a top 20 player on the season for fantasy.
Nicolas Batum returned from injury and played 24 minutes.
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
9 | 3 | 4 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1/1 | 3/5 | 2/3 |
I wouldn’t trust him this week, though, as he probably won’t get a full allotment of minutes and the Hornets play a back-to-back this weekend.
Jeremy Lamb:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
12 | 6 | 6 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 2/4 | 3/7 | 4/4 |
Played 28 minutes. The return of Batum is baaaaaaaad for Lamb.
Willy Hernangomez:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
12 | 5 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 5/7 | 2/2 |
REVENGE!!! I wish this game was in NYC. Anyways, Willy was freed for 17 minutes. Should continue getting minutes in the teens as long as Cody Zeller remains out.
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
20 | 11 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 2/6 | 8/15 | 2/3 |
Played 41 minutes. Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, Kuuuuuuuuuuuuuuz delivered for the home folk. Those folk have clean water yet? Seriously, that’s some BS. Anyways, I love Kuz. How many 6′ 9″ forwards can shoot from downtown, run the PnR, and baby hook it in the lane? I’m all about the Kuzmania.
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
23 | 11 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 5 | 0 | 7/13 | 9/10 |
Such a beast down low.
Wish he had a better J, though. Is something he’s going to have to develop. With that said, he’s a straight bully in the paint.
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
14 | 3 | 9 | 0 | 5 | 0 | 0/4 | 6/16 | 2/4 |
Does he stay or does he go? UFA after season’s end. Regardless, he’s making him some Mo Money Mo Money Mo Money right now.
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
15 | 8 | 11 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 1/1 | 7/8 | 0 |
At one point, was 6-of-6 from the field. Shots from downtown, step back Js after crossing over a defender, off the dribble to both the left and right, and a floater in the lane. He’s going to be a really good one. Just needs to develop the shot. The rest? Boards, dimes, and steals are all there.
Two bench players received 17 and 18 minutes respectively. The Lakers are essentially going with a seven man rotation.
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
15 | 18 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 3 | 0/1 | 5/16 | 5/6 |
Just another Dre Day. For the month of March: 13.3 points, 16.3 boards, 2.3 blocks, and 1.3 steals.
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
20 | 5 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 2/6 | 9/22 | 0 |
Played 28 minutes, while Ish Smith played 20 minutes. RJax is fast and skilled with the ball. Unfortunately, that makes him a black hole.
Blake Griffin:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
15 | 5 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 2/3 | 6/9 | 1/3 |
Ricky Lake Griffin made another appearance. Only played 24 minutes due to fouling out.
Anthony Tolliver:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
15 | 3 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 3/7 | 4/9 | 4/4 |
Played 28 minutes. The prior game, Tolliver played 26 minutes, shot 8-of-15 from the field, and scored 25 points. Not buying it. Wouldn’t shock me if he puts up a bagel next game.
Will Barton:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
25 | 1 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 5/8 | 8/15 | 4/4 |
Played 36 minutes. Will the Thrill got the start at shooting guard with Gary Harris out. Another reason to tune into The WB.
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
14 | 7 | 4 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 1/2 | 4/14 | 5/6 |
The 76ers…cough cough….Joel Embiid has been tough on opposing centers. Made a Jokic of Nikola last night. Prior to that? KAT shot 3-of-15. Vuc shot 3-of-11. M Gasol shot 2-of-8. That’s a good Nugget, no?
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
20 | 6 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 3/7 | 7/14 | 3/3 |
Played 29 minutes. Oh, Mario with the D brought it last night…..leaving everyone satisfied.
Robert Covington:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
18 | 6 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 4/8 | 6/11 | 2/2 |
The Lord giveth.
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
20 | 13 | 2 | 1 | 2 | 4 | 0/1 | 6/12 | 8/10 |
Who gonna sex Embiid? How many guys line up?
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
7 | 13 | 11 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0/1 | 3/8 | 1/2 |
Ben is so good that he could probably mess around without shooting.
Ersan Ilyasova:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
11 | 6 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 1 | 1/2 | 5/8 | 0/2 |
Played 24 minutes. Has carved out a nice little role for himself. 22-24 minutes a game, can score from downtown, grab some boards, dish out a dime or two, and get his 211 on.
Markelle Fultz:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
10 | 4 | 8 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 5/13 | 0 |
Played 14 minutes. The night was all about Fultz, though. The J looked better, he was grabbing boards, and dishing out dimes. The ability to get to the rim and put defenders in the spin cycle was on display. I’d imagine that the 76ers will want to get him up to speed for the playoffs, so elevated usage and minutes could be in the cards.
JaMycal Green:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
11 | 11 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 2/3 | 4/9 | 1/2 |
Played 40 minutes. Always a threat to double-dub, Green is averaging 0.8 in downtowners, dimes, and steals for the month of March. 8 is a lucky number in Chinese culture, so there’s that as well.
Dillon Brooks only played 19 minutes and scored 2 points. Uh, going the wrong way son.
Marc Gasol:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
20 | 10 | 6 | 2 | 3 | 1 | 4/7 | 7/16 | 2/2 |
Played 34 minutes. Gasol is a good player, but KAT is 61st out of 80 in defensive real plus minus.
Wayne Selden:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
23 | 1 | 4 | 3 | 0 | 2 | 4/6 | 9/14 | 1/1 |
Played 26 minutes. I liked what I saw of Selden in the Summer League. He wasn’t even a blip on the radar to start the season, but then he became a thing. Unfortunately, he got injured and ceased being a thing. Now, he’s come back and looks to be a thing again. Please refer to the picture below.
The Grizzlies won 101-93.
Nemanja Bjelica:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
0 | 4 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0/3 | 0/5 | 0 |
Played 22 minutes. Please refer to the picture above.
Jeff Teague:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
25 | 2 | 7 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 1/1 | 7/13 | 10/10 |
Nice bounceback game for Teague, after shooting 1-of-8 against Philly. Geez, is Philly going to win it all this year? Anyways, Teague played 42 minutes and is usually solid, yet unspectacular.
Ho hum…KAT with another double-dub (15/12). Ho hum…Wiggins again leading the Timberwolves in shot attempts with 17. He made five. Simply a travesty.
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
19 | 9 | 7 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 3/4 | 7/12 | 2/2 |
All he needed was a little exposure to the Suns.
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
23 | 6 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 4 | 2/4 | 10/18 | 1/1 |
When’s the last time anyone has seen Jason Statham and Channing Tatum? No wonder Jayson Tatum is so freaking good.
Marcus Morris:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
20 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 3/4 | 6/8 | 5/5 |
REVENGE!!!! Unfortunately, he injured his ankle and left the game early. Too much revenge.
Elfrid Payton:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
0 | 1 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0/1 | 0 |
Played 15 minutes. Played 15 minutes too long.
Tyler Ulis:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
19 | 5 | 8 | 1 | 1 | 4 | 2/3 | 7/12 | 3/4 |
It’s a doggy dog world. Zero sum game. Someone’s suckitude is another man’s opportunity.
Josh Jackson:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
23 | 6 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 3 | 1/3 | 9/15 | 4/9 |
Played 39 minutes. The Sixth Jackson has been moonwalking over everyone. Dude looks legit. Keep in mind that Devin Booker could return soon, but JJ should continue getting big usage.
Dragan Bender:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |
3 | 10 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 1/6 | 1/7 | 0 |
Played 34 minutes. Dragan has scored single digits in 17 of the past 18 games. He’s shooting 30% from the field. Yet….he’s getting over 30 minutes of run a game. Ahhhh…..my bad. I forgot they were tanking.
