Entering the season, Jrue Holiday was being drafted as a top 12 player for fantasy. And for good reason, as he finished as the 22nd and 21st player on a per-game basis the past two years. Anthony Davis was gone, so the expectation was that he was going to be the alpha, with the young kids following his lead. That is not how things worked out to begin the season, though. Jrue looked like he was on a Holiday, while Brandon Ingram took the league by storm. Then Zion Williamson returned from injury and the hype was all on him. Now, Lonzo has been Ball-ing with his new shot, which looks excellent by the way, and Jrue became the forgotten man. We are silly humans because Jrue never went anywhere. Last night, Jrue reminded us that he can still barbecue the opposition. Beep. Boop. Bop. You know what always cooks the competition? The Stocktonator.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalmost messed around, which would have been the fifth time in his career. Over the past 21 games, Jrue has been a top 25 player. Over the past four games, he’s been top 15. He’s been lurking in the bushes, sniping off Charlie without anyone noticing. But I see you, Jrue! The usage rate isn’t crazy like most stars, as it’s in the 22% range, but he’s playing a ton of minutes for a team that plays at a fast offensive pace, and contributes across-the-board production. The only bugaboo to his game is the 70% free throw shooting.

Here’s what else I saw yesterday:

Otto Porter Jr.

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
23 3 2 4 0 1 3/8 9/17 2/4

In 25 minutes off the bench. Since returning from injury, Otto has played 17, 18, 19, and 25 minutes. The trend is your friend. It should only be a matter of time before Otto starts delivering the efficient, across-the-board goodies you’ve been stashing him all season for.

Coby White

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
21 6 8 1 0 0 3/9 8/21 2/3

In 35 minutes off the bench. There’s been talk of moving him to the starting lineup. It doesn’t matter because he’s getting the bulk of the point guard minutes, but it shows what the coaching staff thinks of him. He is the future, and the future is now. Y’all know I was a Satoransky guy, but sayonara to Sato-san.

DeAndre Jordan

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
11 15 4 0 3 1 0 4/5 3/4

Got the start and played 29 minutes. Did Kenny Atkinson get relieved of his duties because he kept going to Jarrett? Doubt it, but it does get the people who deliver the word on the street working. If this is indeed the N. W. O., then he’s a must add for those in need of boards and blocks.

Spencer Dinwiddie

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
24 3 6 0 0 6 2/5 4/9 14/15

Dinwiddie has been shooting 77% from the free throw line on the season, so yesterday’s performance was a sight for….any eyes. Dinwiddie scores, provides tres, and dishes out dimes, but the defensive contributions are light and the percentages can be horrific at times. As a result, he’s not even close to being a top 100 player.

Caris LeVert

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
23 6 5 1 1 5 4/6 7/14 5/7

Over the past eight games, LeVert has been a top 60 player, averaging 32.7 minutes, 25.1 pionts, 2.8 tres, 5.3 boards, 6 dimes, and 1.1 steals. Damn. The usage rate has been over 30% as well! I guess he’s fully recovered from his injury.

Brandon Ingram

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
15 12 7 1 0 5 0/2 6/12 3/5

Played a team-high 40 minutes. The usage and efficiency have both ticked down with Zion in the mix, but he’s still averaging 20.2 shot attempts over the past six games. What’s most encouraging is that he continues to contribute in all facets of the game. Ingram won’t be the top 25 beast wreaking havoc in the fantasy streets from earlier in the season, but top 40 isn’t out of the question.

Nicolo Melli

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
11 4 3 1 1 1 1/4 3/7 4/7

In 26 minutes off the bench. Melli has played 26, 24, and 26 minutes the past three games. His ability to space the floor has been huge, and he’s carved out a role for himself. Tres and boards are the main contributions, but he will dish out some dimes on occasion and get his defense on once in a while.

Malik Beasley

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
21 9 0 1 0 1 4/7 8/20 1/3

Beasley has been a Timberwolves player for 13 games. Over that span, he’s been a top 60 player for fantasy, averaging 33.1 minutes, 21.9 points, 3.7 tres, 5.2 boards, and 2 dimes on 48% shooting from the field and 75% from the line. The usage rate has been 23.5. He’s only 23 years old and looks to be a staple for the future.

James Johnson

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
15 5 4 0 1 2 3/5 5/11 2/2

In 25 minutes off the bench. This Johnson has risen since moving from the 786 to the 612. Top 90 player despite averaging only 24.1 minutes per game. JJ has been a 1/1/1 member while also contributing points, boards, and dimes. The only bugaboos are the low minutes and 67% free throw shooting.

Khris Middleton

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
39 2 4 0 0 4 3/10 13/26 10/11

No Giannis? Yeah, big problem for the Bucks as they lost to the Suns, 131-140. For much of the season, Middleton has been producing at a top 25 level and garners a usage rate of over 30 when G is off the court. Yesterday, the usage rate was 40.7!!! He contributes everything but blocks and is shooting 49% from the field and 90% from the line on the season. I don’t have to tell Khris to warm it up. He’s been en fuego all year.

Eric Bledsoe

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
28 3 7 1 0 3 2/4 12/19 0

A nice bounce back game for Bledsoe, after he crapped the bed against the Lakers. I bet he was an amazing running back when he played football in high school. He’s so strong and can get to the rim at will. The J can be an issue, though. For fantasy, he’s a points, dimes, and steals guy who will chip in some tres, boards, and dimes.

Mikal Bridges

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
21 10 3 0 1 1 2/6 7/13 5/5

Played a team-high 43 minutes! Over the past 13 games, Bridges has been a top 25 player, averaging 34.1 minutes, 12.8 points, 1.8 tres, 4.1 boards, 2.4 dimes, 1.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks. The percentages have been excellent as well. Remember when he couldn’t crack the starting lineup? That was cute.

Aron Baynes

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
24 7 1 0 1 2 4/11 8/16 4/5

Continues to go bonkers with Deandre Ayton out. He’s mainly a points, tres, and boards guy, but has been getting his Mutombo on lately. Ayton’s injury isn’t serious, so he should be back soon, but Baynes is a viable alternative for as long as Ayton is out.

Ricky Rubio

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
25 13 13 3 0 1 3/7 8/15 6/6

The 8th time Rubio has messed around in his career! Back in late January, Rubio was struggling. Then he sprained his ankle and things went from bad to bleak. Well, things are all good now, as he’s been a top 10 player over the past seven games and top 20 player over the past 13 games. The big boost has come in the shooting efficiency, as he’s converted 46-48% of his shots, compared to 41% on the season.

Devin Booker

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
36 5 8 1 2 6 4/6 13/17 6/7

Such a stud. He’s top 35 on the season, but if he can start contributing the D, then top 15 is possible. I’m a believer, especially since I’ve seen him improve the dimes and shooting efficiency over the span of his career.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander did not play due to a hip injury.

Chris Paul

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
28 6 7 1 1 4 0/3 9/19 10/10

There’s been all this chatter about a new Chris Paul lately, but it’s definitely not Carlton Banks. This new Chris Paul is putting up vintage CP3 numbers without the speed and athleticism of his younger self. This Chris Paul is the 13th overall player for fantasy!!! Last season, he finished 21st, but prior to that…..check out this run: 9th, 9th, 6th, 4th, 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 1st, 20th, and 17th his rookie season. Holy shit balls. That has to be one of the greatest fantasy careers forever ever.

Dennis Schroder

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
27 2 6 2 0 2 3/8 10/21 4/7

In 34 minutes off the bench. Dennis had a usage rate of 30.9 yesterday and was a menace to the Boston Celtics. He scores, provides tres, and dishes out dimes. The boards and defensive stats are on the light side, though. Top 100-ish player for fantasy.

Jaylen Brown did not play due to a hamstring injury.

Gordon Hayward

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
24 5 4 1 2 0 4/7 9/19 2/4

The free throw shooting has been rough recently, but Hayward is at 84% for the season, so I wouldn’t stress out about it. He provides points, tres, and a smattering of boards and dimes. The defensive stats are lacking, but the field goal percentage is usually excellent. Next year should be an interesting one, as he will be an UFA after the season. Depending on how he finishes this season, he could be an interesting value going into draft season, as he will be another year removed from the injury and going into a contract year.

Marcus Smart

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT

Aaron Gordon

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
19 10 4 3 2 4 1/3 7/17 4/5

Since All-Star Weekend, Gordon has been a top 25 player. He’s averaged 38.2 minutes, 17.3 points, 1.1 tres, 9 boards, 6.4 dimes, 1.3 steals, and 1.4 blocks. He’s shot 51% from the field! The only bugaboo has been the 67% free throw shooting. This is what we expect from Gordon. The narrative is that he’s still angry about getting snubbed in the dunk contest. Well…..hello? The Magic need to set up a mock dunk contest every week then. Don’t forget to snub him.

D. J. Augustin

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
24 2 3 1 0 2 4/6 7/10 6/6

In 27 minutes off the bench. The Magic intercepted the Rockets, 126-106, so Augustin probably got a few minutes of blowout run. There’s also the fact that Evan Fournier is out. It’s been nine games since D. J. returned from injury and he has now received 27 minutes in back-to-back games, both comfortable wins. I’d expect minutes in the low-to-mid 20s going forward and he could be a decent source of dimes.

Of course this Christian Wood played well and rose up above the others on the Lord’s Day! He’s been a top 40 player over the past 11 games and could crack into the top 25.

Bruce Brown

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
16 4 6 0 0 2 2/4 7/14 0

Got the start and played 37 minutes because Brandon Knight did not play due to a hamstring injury. Brown can provide tres, boards, dimes, and steals, but much will be predicated on how the rotations shake out when everyone is healthy.

Julius Randle

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
22 12 1 3 0 2 1/1 7/14 7/9

The usage rate is around 28, so Randle is THE guy for the Knicks. He’s going to score a ton of points and grab boards, but in order to crack the top 100 for fantasy, Randle has to contribute the D.

Mitchell Robinson

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
14 11 0 1 3 0 0 5/6 4/4

In 27 minutes off the bench. Top 25 player over the past 11 games, despite averaging only 25.5 minutes per game. W. T. F. are the Knicks doing??!!!!! Open up Mitchell Robinson’s neighborhood to the public so that the people can have nice things.

Myles Turner

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
16 13 0 2 3 0 2/4 6/9 2/4

Yes, yes…..if Turner can start boarding, then he’d be a center of extraordinary magnitude, as he already drains tres and is 4th in the NBA for blocks. With that said, yesterday was only the ninth game grabbing at least 10 boards in a game.

Malcolm Brogdon has a significant quad injury, so there’s a chance he’s done for the season. The team has designated him as week-to-week, though. Aaron Holiday and T. J. McConnell should both see an uptick in playing time. Yesterday, Holiday played 32 minutes and provided 7 points, 1 board, 2 dimes, 1 steal, 1 tres, and 2 turnovers. McConnell contributed 12 points, 1 board, 5 dimes, and 1 turnover in 16 minutes.

Halle-f’ing-Luka! Top 30 player on the season. Over the past seven games, though, he’s been outside the top 100, as the shooting efficiency from both the field and line has plummeted. He’ll be fine and should end the season as a top 30-ish player.

Bam Adebayo

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT

I heart Bam. I’m such a slut, bouncing from player to player. To be fair, though, I’ve only given the “I heart” to Luka. I’ve seen bigger sluts than that. If he can develop a shot from downtown and increase the free throw percentage, then Bam could enter the top 20 discussion.

Duncan Robinson

In 36 minutes off the bench. With LaMarcus Aldridge out and the game going to OT, Gay got extra run. When he plays, he contributes points and boards. He will sprinkle in some tres and defensive stats from time to time. He’s a bootleg version of James Johnson.

Kevin Love

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT

Love both hurts and provides happiness. He’s usually a good shooter, so yesterday’s performance was an outlier. On the season, he’s at 45% from the field. Despite contributing very little in the defensive categories, Love has been a top 35 player over the past seven games, as he contributes plenty of points, tres, boards, and excellent free throw percentage.

As a Lakers fan, I thoroughly enjoyed his constant forays into the paint yesterday. So, Bronny James is 15 years old. It will be around three to four years until he’s in the League. It’s been stated that LeBron wants to play with Bronny so we are all blessed with at least three more years of LeBron, health permitting.

Top 15 player over the past four games and he’s averaged 38 minutes of run! When VanVleet returns, Powell will settle back into the high-20s, but he will still have value because he’s the microwave off the bench. The biggest reasons for the spike in overall value, though, have been the 50% shooting from the field and 93% from the line. On the season, he’s at 47% and 70% respectively.
