I don’t typically do this, but I’m going completely off-script for the open today, after we got the awful news Bill Paxton passed away in his early 60s due to complications from heart surgery.  Isn’t it weird how attached we get to actors we obviously don’t know in person?!  Especially more a character guy like Bill, but this one hit me hard for some reason!  Who doesn’t love True Lies?  Aliens?  The GOOD James Cameron movies?!

And for this to happen on Oscar weekend too, just a real shame.  Alas, it’s been a busy-as-hell weekend across the association plus I finally wrapped up my Pitcher Rankings over on baseball that’ll be out this afternoon or tomorrow.  Weekend of writing!  That’s what really pulls me through man, getting to write about sports for all you wondrous people in Razzball Nation.  The game will never be over, there will always be basketball and baseball!  Tackle football…?  Eh, maybe not-sa-much…  Here’s what went down over the busy weekend – the first after the break with a lot of fresh faces in new places – in fantasy basketball action:

Kyle Lowry Ruh roh.  After the career-year last year, now we’re hearkening back to 14-15 where a hand injury messed up his second half.  Sat over the weekend with a wrist injury, but apparently the swelling has gone done and there’s no major issues.  Erstwhile, Cory Joseph had 11/1/6 and 12/1/6 fill-in lines, committing only 1 TO in each game.  Good to have some Cojo mojo depth!

Serge Ibaka Raps gotta be feeling great right now!  Well, except maybe Jonas Valanciunas…  Ibaka got 36 then 34 minutes in his first two appearances, racking up 15/7/0/1/1 and 18/10/2/2/1 lines with 3 total treys.  Doesn’t look like the change of scenery hurts at all!  And helps that the Raps won both those games too…  On the flip side, The Luminscent Lithuanian has the candlelight dwindling, with 18 then 22 minutes in those two games.  Ouch.  He at least was still 15/7/1/0/1 yesterday, but this is no bueno.

P.J. Tucker Brings some super intangibles…  9/10/1/3/0 with no TO in his debut in 29 minutes, but only 2/1/1 yesterday in 21 minutes.  Real-life impact will be felt more than a fantasy asset in most leagues.

Robert Covington Lord Covington going mad regal!  Monster lines of 25/11/3/4/0 then 20/10/2/3/2 rainbow over the weekend, hitting 7 combined treys.  Benefiting from EMBIIIIIIID USG going somewhere else!

Dario Saric With the Sixers dumping The Six Foot Turkey Ersan Ilyasova, it assures Saric a big role rest of season, also with Ben Simmons officially ruled out for the year.  I was kinda harsh on Saric early in the year saying he kinda just “looked like a guy” out there, but he used it as bulletin board material, and isn’t no role player no mo’!  20/11/4/1/0 then 19/15/5 lines over the weekend, giving him at least 18/11 the past 4 games, with an average of 1.0 treys in that span.  Pretty interesante.  He’s like Ilyasova, but way better!  Ghostface Ily is now legit a ghost, and has disappeared!

Richaun Holmes Captain N driving his ship to Big D has opened it up for The Big H!  Yeah, got nothing for a Holmes nickname…  Sherlock?  Nah, too easy…  Unreal 12/10/1/2/5 with no TO against the Wizards on Friday, then semi-usable 8/2/0/1/2 line Friday in a game where Jahlil Okafor was actually good…  But once EMBIIIIIID is back, The Big H gonna be a Flaccid H!

Marquese Chriss Ahhhhh, the ups and downs of rebuilding!  Had back-to-back 2/2 STL/BLK games going into Sunday, but only 8/1/1/1/0 in 16 minutes yesterday…  It was a close game too!  F You, Watson!  From Sherlock to Watson these last two…

Alan Williams …then to Big Sauce!  That should be the new Sherlock Holmes movie…  Sherlock Holmes 3: Big Sauce!  Investigating the corrupt overlords of the Worcestershire Sauce industry!  Suddenly the biggest-minute center in Phoenix, with Tyson Chandler completely cut out of the rotation.  16/3/1 in only 15 minutes Friday, then 17/15/3/3/1 last night, hitting a combined 15-22 from the field.  Pour some Big Sauce on your 12er rosters!

Nikola Mirotic Fantastic and much-needed big weekend for Miro, going 20/8/2 in 37 minutes then 14/10/1/2/0 with no TO in 29 minutes in his weekend games.  Both were off the bench in favor of Bobby Portis, who hasn’t taken the Bull by the horns with the starting PF role…  Definitely giving Miro an add in 12ers as well.

Cameron Payne Got only 12 minutes in his Bulls debut, going 6/1/1.  Especially frustrating since they won by 18 against a makeshift Cavs team… Hopefully he’s just working his way up with the new squad…

Jimmy Butler/Dwyane Wade …also tough to do much when teammates almost have dueling tripdubs!  Buckets actually got his for 18/10/10 Saturday, with Wade a mere board short going 20/9/10.  Stupid Felicio!  Thanks for pointing that out Shahed!  A big comeback, OT-win Friday against the Suns and beating the Cavs (albeit without LeBron) maybe have the Bulls on the right hoof again!

Michael Beasley So in Raleigh, there’s this baller restaurant called “Beasley’s Chicken and Waffles” and it’s the bomb.  Makes me wanna nickname Michael B “Chicken n Waffles” but I’m not so sure that’ll catch on without sounding ignorant without knowing the reference…  Hah, anywho, 22/6 on a red hot 10-17 Friday, then 17/3/0/2/1 on an even hotter 8-10 FG yesterday.  It was even off the bench too!  He’ll be starting tonight with The Duchess getting a DNP-rest, so if you can make daily moves, he should be a fun add against the Cavs.

Khris Middleton Speaking of, The Duchess wasn’t very stately getting a little into it with Devin Booker yesterday!  Unfortunately The Duchess’s return to the starting 5 wasn’t met with good fanfare either, going only 8/7/2 with 4 TO.  He’s looked great in his earlier games working his way back, so no need to panic.  I might even shoot some Duchess owners some buy lows.

Nerlens Noel Solid – if not a little underwhelming – Dallas debut going 9/10/0/1/1.  Got 30 minutes though, and got that kind of run off the bench.  I think it’s gonna be mad fun in Big D.

Seth Curry Big weekend for the worse/muttonchops-laden version of the Currys!  31/1/1 Friday then 13/7/8/3/0 Saturday against the Pels with 6 treys.  Wiping off Deron Williams‘ USG from the perimeter seems to help (and D-Will has signed with the Cavs, but to be a backup of course, so meh), so I’m slightly warming up to the prospect of Curry being OK…

D’Angelo Russell Finally looking better for D Barksdale, unlike how the REAL D Barksdale met his fate…  29/4/6/4/0 against OKC Friday then 18/5/3 yesterday against the Spurs in 29 minutes.  Surprise!  Lakers got trounced in that one…

Ivica Zubac The Savior did some great big man-bangin’ with Steven Adams Friday, going 11/6/1/1/3, but only 2/2/0/1/1 yesterday.  Annoying to see he only got 18 minutes yesterday too, in a blowout loss.  Had 3 fouls, so maybe got extra pine due to the hacks.

Brandon Ingram Ingram just has to have blowout losses to be able to play well!  Dammit, it’s the Lakers though, that means he might finish HUGE!  22/2/0/0/1 with 3 TO yesterday, on 10-15 shooting.  But if you read me a lot, you know I ain’t a big Ingram guy…

Taj Gibson Made his OKC debuts over the weekend, and got 21 minutes in both appearances.  12/4/1/1/0 then 6/5/0/0/0.  Ugh.  Taj no maj.

Enes Kanter It looked like it might be just too much of a glut of bigs for Enes to wave his big… well you know… in the paint again.  Only 4/7/1 with 4 TO in his first game off breaking his hand, but 20/9/3/1/0 on 6-9 FG 8-10 FT yesterday against the Pelicans.

Doug McDermott Yeah, I thought he’d play more than THIS!  19 then 23 minutes in his first games in blue/orange/white, going 8/4 then 2/5 with no treys.  Ouch.

Mason Plumlee Yeah this normalized to about how I expected it, finally!  Crazy 12/12/8 game against Brooklyn Friday, but that was a 20-point win against the Mess…  Finally cooled off yesterday, getting only 17 minutes of 2/3/1/1/0 and Nikola Jokic played like the crazy Jock Itch we’ve come to expect again.

Pau Gasol Another big returning from a weird broken hand injury (did it in warmups, which is at least A LITTLE bit better than hitting a chair), going 17/11/2/0/1 then 15/7/0/1/1 over the weekend after a month off.  Came off the bench both times for Dewayne Dedmon, who also had nice games (4/12/3/1/4 & 11/9/3/1/0) as wel.  Maybe both can be usable for a bit, but I imagine we get more and more Pau, and Dedmon is game over, mon.

Chris Paul CP3 back into the fold!  17/6/5/2/0 against the Spurs Friday, then typical beastly 15/9/17 against the Hornets last night with nary a TO.  I’ve never liked having IL spots more than now!

Buddy Hield A very Steph Curry weekend for his Kings debut!  16/6/1/1/0 then 15/1/2 with a total of 3 treys.  Lolololol.

Skal Labissiere With the Kings punting the season, starting to get incorporated in the rotation and is looking like a strong stash.  12/3/2/1/0 Thursday night, then 8/13/1/1/0 Saturday in only 23 minutes.  It might be tough to stash him in 12ers…  But any deeper, if you’re set for the playoffs, I might give him a look in that Marquese Chriss-esque mold.

Willie Cauley-Stein After the explosion right outta the gate of the 2nd half, came crashing back to earth for 2/2/1/0/3 Saturday.  That said, had no TO, got those blocks, and continues to make his FT (2-2).  I think he should be somewhere in the average of his last 2.

Frank Kaminsky Man, Frank the Tank is about to become Frank the Tank Engine!  Keeps chugging along!  23/13/3/2/0 with no TO against SAC and fending off a hot WCS, then 16/5/4 last night in only 28 minutes due to fouling out.  6 combined treys on top of that too!  Hornets shockingly might have made the right pick getting this College All-Star…  Worked for Kemba!  But failed for Adam Morrison, Sean May, Gerald Henderson, etc. etc. etc. etc…….

Dennis Schroder Got suspended for showing up late.  Mach schnell, Dennis, mach schnell!  Returned Saturday and was fine for 11/5/8.

Terrence Ross Ross can!  After a very Ross-ish debut of 13/5/1/3/0, blew up Saturday for 24/4/2/2/1 with no TO and 4 treys.  I guess we have to add him in 12ers, and start worrying a tad about Evan Fournier

Aaron Gordon Moved to PF and it be working!  9/9/2/0/2 then 18/3/3/2/0 over the weekend.  I’d be sure he’s owned in your league, as his inconsistency has made him a waiver wire village bicycle.  Everyone has gotten a ride.

Kyle O’Quinn Rainbow KOQ!  9/5/5/5/2 against the Sixers Saturday in that tough win, with Willy Hernangomez still starting and playing fine.  I actually think both are pretty ownable right now, while Kristaps Porzingis is on the roost with a kankle.

DeMarcus Cousins/Anthony Davis Are absolute fantasy beasts together, too bad it hasn’t translated to real-life wins!  Boogie is 27/14/5/5/4, 12/15/6/3/0 and 31/10/3 his first 3 games on the Pels, with Brow 29/9/1/2/2, 39/14/0/1/2 then 38/7/4/1/0 last night, scoring a franchise record 24 points in the first quarter yesterday.  But all 3 were losses…

Jrue Holiday Looks like the combo is only impacting Jrue, who is mad struggling to find his place around the USG-whore centers.  6/4/4 with 7 TO, 18/7/6 with 4 TO, then only 6/3/8/2/1 with 5 TO his first three games with the twin towers.

Karl-Anthony Towns Speaking of towers, KAT is going beastmode!  37/22/3/1/1 with a trey on 16-24 shooting Saturday night, getting the full D’Antoni effect.  Wolves lost this one too!  142-130!  It’s like a video game!  Just ask Kris Dunn feeding KAT on this sick one…

Jeremy Lin Returned over the weekend, and didn’t play over 15 minutes each of his first two games.  Sure, it was nice to see him play a back-to-back, but this is what I was worried about.  7/2/5/0/0 then 9/0/2/1/0 in those games.

Kevin Durant Probable for tonight after missing some time with a hand bruise.  Slim Reaper ain’t never really hurt!

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope I know it was more than a few days ago now, but holy hell!  33/9/3 with no TO Thursday night, with 7 treys.  He pretty much LeBron-ed it, making every single shot to single-handedly bring the Pistons back into it, into OT, and win it in OT.

Followed it up with a strong 18/3/3/1/2 line with 3 treys yesterday.  Full addiction!

Jusuf Nurkic After two monster games, kinda cooled off yesterday for only 8/4/2/1/0 against the Raps.  Only 21 minutes, due to 1 part foul trouble, 1 part Raps going small, and 2 of his teeth turning into multiple parts (thanks times 2, Shahed!).  He’s gonna be super pissed off at PJ now!  Gonna turn into The Bosnian Bear and Revenant his ass.

Maurice Harkless I’ve been harsh on his game all year, but the minutes are back up, and it’s time to give him a medium-term look (at least until Evan Turner is back).  32+ minutes 3 of the last 4, including 38 then 36 minutes the past two games.  12/6/1/1/3 then 18/5/0/2/1 with 3 combined treys in those lines.  Might be hearkening back (seond time I’ve used that today!) to his strong start!

Man, what an upset last night for Moonlight after some ridiculousness at the Oscars!  Yeah, I fell asleep before it got to the end…  When I see moonlight, I think bedtime!  I hope everyone had a great weekend, and good luck to your squads as we hunker down for the second half!

Bill Paxton ruled in everything, but my personal favorite role of his might be as Severen in “Near Dark.” He was a psychotic, twangy vampire, but the folksy, Paxton-y charm still shone through. Which made him even scarier!

@JB Gilpin: Yo, I get 2 mentions in the daily notes, cool, you know I got you bro.
Now, Lowry out for the fantasy season, I had Kanter on IL, so activated him, but do you think I need to make a move.
              My roster:
              G: Bledsoe, Jrue, Schroder, Batum
F: Kawhi, Crowder, James Johnson, RyNo
C: Jordan, Nurkic, Kanter, Willy, Zubac
              IL: Lowry, Zeller
I know I have a lot of bigs, I kinda just picked them up, do I need them? Definitely helps with Batum’s bad FG%
I’m in first place, but losing Lowry hurts.
Options: Cory Joseph, Nelson, Brogdon, Ingram, Beasley, Yogi, Valentine
              What do you think?

A lot of interesting PG, Cojo, Jameer and Yogi I’m all interested in, just to keep them from others. Your AST are great though. I guess I’m holding but def would consider some 2-for-1. Still think ridding DJ and being non-FT punt might help

                • Shahed says:
                  (link)

@JB Gilpin: Yeah, I was considering moving Jordan, especially after my biggest rival managed to trade away his Drummond to receive Gobert, no idea how he pulled that off, now he is no longer FT punt, and improved his blocks.
I’m in first, clinched a playoff spot last week, so annoyed that Lowry is gone just in the crucial moment.
                  Thanks for the advice.

                    (link)

@Shahed: I’m considering moving Jordan and Schroder in a 2 for 1 deal, or would you move Bledsoe, with the Suns going young.
Also, do you have any recomendations of players to target with these 2?
                    Thanks.

@Shahed: Or should I move Jrue with Jordan, who has been awful recently?

Ugh damn, that’s annoying he got Gobert that cheap. Rudy is playing unreal. Yeah the Lowry injury shook up a ton of leagues. I’d prob keep Bledsoe since you need the PG depth. More apt to move Jrue, I really worried how he’d fit with the two USG-whore bigs. Jrue + DeAndre for what fits against that smallball team would make a lot of sense

With a bye in hand, I am tweaking my roster for March 20th week. Good chance I face the reigning champ seeded 4th or 5th every year who uses a small ball approach that is actually hard to beat. He does not crush you in the regular season but wins 5-4 during the playoffs punting Rebs, Blocks and FG% but crushes FT%, Turnovers and Threes. So you are left fighting over points, steals and assists. Irritating. Here are our rosters and wire options……thoughts? Also, I dropped Kanter (who I like) for consistency and FG% for a flier on Mirotic. Probably dumb but was so much influenced on that small sample size of two games where he was legit dropping those threes with big minutes!

Mine: CP3, Lowry, RJax, Smart, Yogi
Leonard, Porter, G Harris, James Johnson, Mirotic
    KAT, Horford, Adams, Jokic
    IR: Poison Goose
His: Teague, L. Williams, IT2, Colly, Brogdon, Lillard, Lin
    Mathews, Fournier, Reke, Hardaway, Ariza
    Saric, Dieng

Wire: Kanter, DWill, T Allen (actually an option to win steals vs small ball), Roberson, Delly, Dinwiddie, A Williams.

Held Yogi over Kanter just to dial up assists despite shooting concerns and Barea’s return. Thanks!

@Johnc: Interesting strategy for that opp, yeah I see what he’s going for. I still think TO would be rough for that team, no?

Yeah your roster is build to slaughter the big man cats and you’ll beat him – even being a G team – in AST. I’m good nabbing Miro to try and compete with treys against that team. Steals should be close too. I think you have a good roster to go against him, I don’t see another move to make right now, maybe think about dealing Horford since he’s not a big scorer and your dimes are solid with CP3 back?

      • John says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:

Well the Lowry news sure made this tougher! I can grab Kanter and go big or, Dinwiddie is the best PG left. Lin may crush his minutes? Thoughts?

@JB Gilpin: Thank you I dropped Will the Thrill for him in a 12er. I probably won’t play him much as we have a low game limit anyway. I’m another playoff team free falling. AND I’M FREEEEEE, FREE FALLING.

RIP Bill. While you’re all regaling his many great roles, I’ll shout out Coconut Pete from Club Dread!

Preparing for the playoffs as I’m locked into a first round bye. How would you rank the following guards ROS…

    Lin, Baze, Broggy, Reke, Yogi.

Also, in a 10er with large rosters, how much trust do you have in Favors and Zubac?

    Thanks!

@miles proudfoot: DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDEEEE! Club Dread is one of my favorite comedies. Man, I dunno why that didn’t immediately pop up in my main Bill Paxton memories… I have the Coconut Pete songs on my iTunres. Naughty Cal! And the director as Putman… Hahahahaha. So quotable in a weird way. This just made my morning that someone else digs that movie!

Ugh, those guards are all right in the same tier. I’ll lean Yogi, Reke, Lin, Brogdon, Bazemore? Kinda souring on Bazemore. Def still trusting Favors, he’s been better the last 2, Zubac is still a little touch and go for sure

Thanks for the order of guards, ya it’s a tough one bc they’re all in the same class, I’ll just check for which cats I may need more.

Thinking about offering my Millsap for Porzingis in a keeper league.

KP’s owner may bite because they’re one game out from POs and need all the help they can get. Is this a good move for me though? I can afford to wait a few weeks, but I’m worried that the Knicks might shut him down when they realize their super team is competing for the 12 seed with the Sixers. I’m the clear cut team to beat this year and don’t wanna jeopardize that, but I’m also a greedy bastard with plans of starting a dynasty.

@Ryan: Oh yes 100%, even with the risk for this season, not like Millsap is a spring chicken either. Helps you SOOOOOO much for the future, its worth the smidge of risk now

I’m in a weird spot where I’ve clinched playoffs in 1st and I don’t know if I have anyone on my team worth dropping at the moment. I want to grab Harkless off waivers, though! Is he worth swapping for from anyone off this list? (This is standard cat 12 team h2h redraft league)

    Elfrid Payton
    Nurk
    Middleton
    D. Booker

Hay JB Thanks for the work 🙂 Love to read your notes 🙂
I have a question how would you rank this List of guys for a dynasty league which starts after this season (so the rest of this season doesnt matter:
    Marquese Chriss, PF, PHX
    Harrison Barnes, SF, GSW
    Andrew Wiggins, SF, MIN
    Wesley Matthews, SG, UFA
    Jaylen Brown, SF, BOS
    Frank Kaminsky, PF, CHA
    Rudy Gay, SF, SAC
    Wade Baldwin, PG, MEM
    Caris LeVert, PG/SG, BKN
    Jon Leuer, PF, PHO
    Jordan Clarkson, PG, LAK
    Terrence Jones, PF, HOU
    Kevin Looney, PF, GSW
    Glen Robinson, SF, IND
    Marcin Gortat, C, WAS

    Thanks for your help.

        Tier 1: Wiggins
Tier 2: Chriss, Barnes, Brown (like his upside), Clarkson
Tier 3: Gortat, Wes Matt, Kaminsky, Gay, LeVert (not as high on him)
Tier 4: the rest, I think that covers em all 🙂

Oh Thanks. Thought wiggins is with his empty statlines not as good as some will think.
And you dont like Baldwin ? Thats kind of surprising to me.
Have you ranked the guys in the tier in order like you would pick them ? (Gortat over Matthews over Frank etc.)

@Saints: He’s been a lot better lately, not only scoring, but sprinkling in some other stuff like steals lately.

Nah I kinda just threw em in tiers, within the tier its kinda team-specific. Nah, Conley is signed for so much that I don’t see Baldwin ever starting there, would need a trade which make take years, just don’t like the situation

Sup JB! Thanks for the notes as always.

I’ve brought this up before but i’m looking to maybe unload Bledsoe as the fantasy playoffs approach. He’s been great, but i’m worried with the youth movement in Phoenix he’s gonna disappear on me at the critical moment. There’s only one guy in my league likely to take the bait so i’m somewhat limited to the players he’s got. I was thinking of offering Bledsoe for Derozan who i know will be playing big minutes down the stretch particularly with Lowry out. I’m also holding Lin who it seems like i might be able to pawn off now if he is gonna be rested all the damn time. Maybe Derozan and P Tucker for Bled and Lin? I lose a lot of dimes there but those are his most interesting assets….Only other players he has that i might target would be T Johnson, Big Sauce, Richaun Holmes….Watcha think? Thanks dood.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Court Vision: Thanks for dropping by man! Yeah I could see that with E Bled too… I think I would just do the E Bled for DeRozan and cap it there, even that seems to be a good haul for the DeRozan owner

  13. Threekola says:
    (link)

Hey JB, so I’m sitting pretty at the #1 seed right now and I wanna polish up my squad. I still have Pau on my IL and have no bigs to drop with Willy Hernangomez being my worst one. I honestly prefer Willy over Pau with Noah having this surgery and Knicks having 4 games in semis and finals. (2 games during my bi week =D)

So, I’m planning on including Pau in a 2 for 1 or 3 for 2, as he is borderline useless to me right now.

The trade I can do right now if I wanted is trade away Schroder + Saric + Pau and get Kemba + Crowder.

The thing is, I have no idea what to expect from both Saric and Crowder. If Saric keeps up this shooting efficiency and rebounding and chips in a steal, he’ll be better than Crowder, pretty much everywhere except TO. Embiid is out indefinitely now and am I wrong for predicting a 18/8.5/3.5/1.0/0.5 line from Saric? On like 46% and 78%?

Crowder, on the other hand, is way more boring than that. I don’t think there’s a chance he beats out Saric in any popcorn stats and his steals are around 1.0 this year. His volume is also low so his %s aren’t a big deal. Yeah, he’s hitting threes but I average around 70-80 threes a week. Only thing again is his very low TO. Also, Bradley is coming back and I’m not sure how that’ll affect him. There was also some talk about him taking a “week off” at some point….?!?!?!

So, I realllyyyy like the idea of Schroder + Pau for Kemba straight up. Love Kemba’s scoring and low TO and his good fg% this year, and more steals than Dennis. But, the Kemba owner wants Saric. Does adding Saric and him adding Crowder make this a worse or better trade for me? Should I go for it?

    Thanks guys!
    2-

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Threekola: Hah nice on Willy! Yeah they’re not far apart at all, but Pau is looking great with the second unit. I dunno if Saric gets to 18 points, but rests seems appropriate. I would 1000000% do that deal though. It consolidates your talent in a huge way. I gotta think Crowder can go on a steals binge soon. Hmmmm, hadn’t heard the weel off thing… I think the deal sells Saric at an absolute sell high. Do it!

      • Threekola says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:

Idk JB…another beast game from Dario and another dud from Crowder. Dario shot it badly and missed all 6 treys and still pulled off a 21-7-7-1 line. If he made just 2/6 threes, that’s a 27-7-7-1 on 8/15 fg…with 2 threes lol. He even got to the line 10 times, made 9.

He’s looking like a game changer and he has convinced me to hold onto him with 8 straight good/great games. Let’s see who’s right on this one.

        • JB Gilpin

@Threekola: Hah yeah I noticed that last night. Well the Celtics were bad across the board, but I am thinking about it, with how Embiid is out and Saric kinda looks like the guy on that team. I’m putting them dead even right now

Your add drop question of the day! 9-cat, h2h, 12-team league.

I feel guard/wing heavy and wouldn’t mind some Aaron Gordon. But who is the drop? None of these guys have done anything but good things lately. Also, any of the guys with an asterisk can be kept at an 11th round value (Gordon cannot).

Team: Lowry, Conley, McConnell*, TyJo*, Beal, Waiters*, Batum, Markieff, Millsap, Zingis, Gobert

      @Not Your Average Joe:

I guess my question has the added spin to it that I just lost Lowry (mother eff!) I have no IR slot. We are on Week 18 and playoffs are weeks 20, 21, and 22. Not sure it makes sense to hold on to Lowry so he may be my drop. Joseph is available but he hasn’t looked that impressive. May make sense for me to drop Lowry for Gordon, if I dare.

@Not Your Average Joe: Hah sweet! Uggghhh yeah Lowry hurts, go ahead and lose him. Cojo is OK, he’s just low end with low TO that makes him ok-ish. Yeah I would just do the Lowry drop for Gordon, as painful as it is

Just picked up TRoss and now have Payton, Fournier, and Ross, a little too much magic haha seems to make scheduling difficult. Kind of want to try and swap Fournier for something. You like either Fournier for kcp or Fournier for Gary Harris? Or is that a bet too strong on Ross? Or is 3 magic not an issue? Currently in the 1 seed going into playoffs so just looking to make the squad as strong as possible towards the end here.

Hey man, I’m punting most things and only need fg%, assists and steals (and rebounds, to a much lesser degree). Should I drop Teague for McConnell?

With an eye on the playoff schedule, should i grab WCS or Hernangomez? Would you drop Robin Lopez for either? I need fg%, rebs, steals, blocks.

    Thank you!!

@JB Gilpin: haha, I’m punting to’s, ft, 3s, points. TJ was just dropped but I have nobody to get rid of other than like Teague, Capela, JJ… Are you willing to wager a guess on Teague/TJ’s projected ROS assists/steals/fg%?

  22. Dante Green says:

Sup bud. So I’m currently two games behind the final playoff spot and I really believe that I’m once again not making the playoffs for the second straight season. My squad doesn’t suck, not at all, but it’s just that the team that caught up to me has Anthony Freakin Davis. The Brow has gone all out berserk this season and is singlehandedly carrying his owners to the playoffs, Jesus.

Disappointing as it is, the only thing that is keeping me interested still is the idea of getting next season’s 1st overall pick by winning the Consolation Bracket. And if I do manage to get it, I’m taking Giannis first overall. For my 2nd round pick (#28) I’m taking Draymond if he’s still available, Turner and Gobert are also a possibility. Those players are great fit for Giannis. 3rd round pick (#29) I’m taking Beal. He’s having a career year right now, he’s kinda like Klay percentage wise but has better assists numbers and steals upside and also gets to the line more. I know he doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to health but his troublesome leg hasn’t been giving him problems this season. Would you consider him over Bledsoe, Porter, Love, Griffin, Conley, Millsap or Middleton in the 29-35 range?

And what can you say about Nurkic, Noel and D’Angelo, should they be taken in the 50-60 range? And one last thing bud, how about mah boy Devin Booker? I made it a point this season that I ain’t touching him in any of the leagues that I joined mainly because I just didn’t believe he was going to make the big leap and true enough he’s well outside the top 100. HOWEVER… I just have a strong feeling that next season he’ll improve on every aspect of his game and become a BONAFIDE SUPERSTAR! Haha. Call me crazy, but I really do believe that. He’s currently just shooting .426 from the field, but I’m sure he’ll improve on that and could hit .450. FT att is at 5.1 a game, he’ll get to the line 6-6.5 next season. 3PM is at 1.9, I see it improving to 2.5! Steals could improve to 1.1 maybe? I’m expecting his turnovers to go down a tad, from 2.9 to 2.5. He’s going to be like CJ but with more attempts from the line. Am I losing my wits in saying these things about mah boy Booker? Haha. I want draft him and either Noel or Nurkic as my back-to-back picks in the 56-65 range!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Dante Green: What’s up man?! Yeah isn’t it just awesome when one of the most injury prone guys actually stays healthy against you this year?! Haha. Oh yeah, didn’t I suggest that idea to your league?! Glad it’s keeping interest up! Ummm, Beal is prob still a little below those guys, I would for sure keep Bledsoe, Griffin, Millsap ahead. But he might be in range with the others.

Noel hasn’t hit the ground running, we’ll see how Nurk and D’Angelo finish too. I actually think nurk could end up being the highest, but we’ll see. Interesting thought on Booker, it’s maybe possible! I still think he needs to get more dimes and lower the TO for that to happen, but it’s within the range of possibilities!

      • Dante Green says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:

True! At this point of the season AD should already be in sidelines nursing an injury or something. Lol

Yeah, I guess it all depends on how they will finish the regular season.

I’m getting pissed at Walton’s reluctance to play Zubac heavy minutes. This last 2 matches are crucial and I don’t think Zubac with all his low minutes will help me get to playoffs. I’m switching players. And Russell only played 27 minutes. Jesus, Is Walton on effin crack or something? I hate him. Channeling Skiles SMH

      • Dante Green says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:

Oh wait, ESPN’s just acting up. Lol But yeah, Zubac only played 8 mins

      • Dante Green says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:

Dropping Zubac and Jrich (have to drop Jrich bcoz I will not be allowed to pick someone up off the wire while I have him on the IR) for:

        Warren
        Len
        Allan W
        Joseph
        Portis

Kindly rank these players bud, thanks!

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Dante Green: Yeah now KD hurt, an iron man other than the foot thing that one year… Crazy! And yeah, seems really dumb that Magic wants to play Zubac more, the team is going nowhere, yet Walton won’t play him. Weird. In a vacuum I’d prob rank em Cojo, Alan W, Warren, Portis, Len

          • Dante Green says:
            (link)

            @JB Gilpin:

Yeah, his situation with the Lakers sucks. What can you say about Jrich’s line? 7/6/5/1/1 in 24 mins. I read that this was garbage time special though. I think I’m dropping him still because Walton is smoking crack for not playing Zubac heavy minutes and I will have to replace Zub, but ESPN won’t allow me to pick up someone just yet cos I have a healthy Jrich on my IR, I have to either activate him or drop him. Here’s a scenario though that could work for me, the first batch of moves will be processed in about 10 hours still, so I’m hoping ESPN will update WHernangomez’s status to OUT so I could place him on my IR. I will not need to drop Zubac then! HOWEVER, if ESPN does not update Willie’s status I will still drop both Zubac and Richardson for someone else. I’d try CoJo, Alan W and Warren, and I will also include Holmes on the list.

            • JB Gilpin

              JB Gilpin says:
              (link)

@Dante Green: Oh yeah, Heat rocked the Sixers. Whiteside got like 22 mins. Yeah agreed, I think you likely have to lose both and I would get Holmes right now if you need a big

              • Dante Green says:
                (link)

                @JB Gilpin:

Willy’s status didn’t update to IR eligible. Hah This was how I placed my bid:

                CoJo: $10
                Warren: $10
                Holmes: $6

I got CoJo. Hahah Yea, would love to have Holmes on my team but apparently I’m already starting 10 centers. Lol

                G — McCollum, Russell, CoJo
F — Hayward, Crowder, Harris, Chriss
                C — Towns, Jokic, Hernangomez, C-Stein

My assists suddenly becomes a competitive cat once again. Lol Remember the reason why we got rid of Schroder, because we’re punting dimes but Jokic and Russell have kept it somewhat strong still so I think the addition of CoJo should really help in that. Steals also improved, thanks to C-Stein, Chriss and Russell! I hope CoJo helps rack up some steals too. I also wanna say that Joerger needs to stop whatever it is that he’s snorting. Damn it, we need WCS to play like 40 mins per night. Hahah

Yeah it was encouraging that in a game Joerger fucked around and benched him, Koufos was 0-7 and the Kings lost to Brooklyn at home. I think he gets more minutes again soon
