Ok, maybe they didn’t forget him, but Andre Drummond definitely doesn’t get the credit he’s due. He might have gotten lost in a massive 13-game night, filled with double-doubles, but let’s give Dre his due. He’s leading the league in rebounding, going for 16 boards a game, and averaging a career-high 19.4 points.

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
9/18 5/8 0/1 23 20 1 3 5 1

I’m not sure what’s more impressive, the 23 and 20 or the 8 combined stocks. Over the past three seasons, Drummond had been averaging 1.5 steals per game (those are guard number!) So far this year, he’s only averaging 0.9 steals, but that is still great for a center. If the steals come back up, so will his fantasy value, but the free throw percentage will always be his anchor. If you punt free throw percentage, Drummond is a clear-cut top 10 player.

Stars Gonna Star

These stars played like we expected them to, punking their inferior opponents and racking up the stats that build the foundation of our fantasy teams. Enjoy the ride.

Marc Gasol

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
11/19 4/5 1/3 27 13 7 0 1 1

The Grizzlies have been having quite the surprising season so far. A lot of that success lies on the shoulder of the giant Spaniard. This was just an amazing showcase of how efficient and dynamic he can be. His draft stock slipped heading into the season, due to age and previous injuries, as well as the likelihood of rest while Memphis was on the outside looking in. As long as Memphis plays well, Gasol should be good to go and be a potential top 20 player.

Jaren Jackson Jr.

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
8/15 3/5 1/3 20 7 3 0 3 3

JJJ is learning from one of the best in Gasol. His potential is through the roof and any fantasy GM that rosters him has to be elated. At this point, he’s clearly entrenched himself as part of the big 3 in Memphis and it will be scary to see how good he could get.

Montrezl Harrell

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
7/14 8/10 NA 22 11 1 1 2 3

It doesn’t matter if he starts or not, Harrell has been a beast and last night was another shining example of that output. He even helped in free throws, which is usually a slight detriment. If you grabbed the top 40 player in the 100’s in your drafts, consider yourself lucky, or maybe a fantasy genius.

Clint Capela

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
14/21 1/1 NA 29 21 1 2 3 3

It was definitely a battle of rebound machines tonight and Capela continued his amazing production with 29 and 21. The 3 blocks and 2 steals were also impressive. He’s been on quite the hot streak, so keep on rolling him out there. As long as you can handle the weak free throws, Capela is exceeding expectations this season.

Blake Griffin

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
9/18 8/12 2/6 28 9 4 0 0 4

It’s frustrating that a guy this athletic doesn’t produce defensive stats. You get what you get with Blake, which is great scoring and boards with nice assists and 3’s from a big man. He showed that archetype pretty well here.

Anthony Davis

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
12/19 8/10 1/1 33 12 4 0 0 1

The lack of stocks is kind of surprising, but the rest is classic AD. He continues to be the #1 player in fantasy, so if you built well around him, you should be leading in the standings.

Joel Embiid

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
8/13 6/8 2/4 24 12 3 0 0 2

Embiid had a solid, yet unspectacular game by his standards. Continue to play the top 10 stud.

Ben Simmons

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
10/12 2/5 NA 22 4 10 1 1 1

BS had another efficient double-double. The free throws continue to be an issue and we’re still all waiting on that Simmons free throw watch.

Bradley Beal

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
7/16 5/6 1/3 20 4 6 1 1 1

Beal was the best Wizard on the floor this game and he produced a nice robust statistical line, including the coveted triple-one.

Kawhi Leonard

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
12/22 2/3 1/4 27 10 2 2 0 1

Kawhi was a fun guy again last night with a nice all-around stat line. He’s a top 5 guy as long as he stays healthy.

LaMarcus Aldridge

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
14/25 5/6 0/1 33 14 3 0 2 2

LMA has been sort of up and down this season. He’s always good with boards, but the scoring and efficiency have been less than ideal at times. This was a nice game from Aldridge, who was surprisingly outside of the top 100 heading into last night’s game. You may want to try to get in before he starts to heat up.

Domantas Sabonis

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
8/12 3/6 NA 19 16 4 0 0 3

While there have been talks about who the best big in Indiana is, Sabonis was clearly the only healthy one tonight with Turner out. He had another really nice game. When given the chance he can put up points and boards in bunches. The assists have been another nice addition to his arsenal, though he still has no semblance of 3’s, blocks or assists most nights.

Josh Richardson

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
10/16 2/2 5/9 27 2 3 1 1 0

Josh came through with another great game and is currently sitting at top 30 fantasy value. The nice thing is, he has room to grow in both FG% and steals, so he could be on his way up. Enjoy.

Kemba Walker

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
10/23 3/4 2/10 25 2 8 2 1 6

Kemba continues his career season. The efficiency took a dip here, and the turnovers sting a little, but he’s still putting up really nice numbers overall.

Russell Westbrook

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
10/18 9/11 1/4 30 12 8 2 0 4

Westbrook got close to a triple-double here and was great from the line, which was nice to finally see. Maybe he fixed the issue? If he starts shooting 80% from the line, his value will skyrocket back up.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
14/16 7/12 0/1 35 10 3 1 0 4

Giannis was super efficient from the floor, but not great from the line. If he ever learned how to make 3’s and free throws, the rest of the NBA would be in trouble.

Devin Booker

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
13/26 2/2 1/5 29 4 7 3 0 3

Booker is a great scorer who gets to show off his point guard skills sometimes. The increase in assists have been a nice bonus for fantasy GMs. The increase in steals has also been a nice development.

Klay Thompson

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
12/21 3/3 4/9 31 7 1 2 1 4

Klay put in work and put up 31 on Portland. He hit 4 3’s with 7 boards and 3 combined stocks. The efficiency and boards were nice tonight.

Kevin Durant

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
13/21 4/5 2/5 32 8 7 2 3 5

Durant came up huge, as the Warriors broke their four-game losing streak. He was dominating the whole game and put up numbers everywhere. KD has had to pick up the slack due to missing teammates, so even if they lose, his numbers should continue to shine.

LeBron James

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
8/17 4/6 2/5 22 10 7 2 1 5

The King continued to put up some really nice numbers against Utah. 22/10/7 would be a career night for most, but for LeBron, it’s just another Friday. He’ll continue to carry the Lakers and maintain a top 5 fantasy ranking.

Dropped the Ball

Oooof. That’s not exactly what we were hoping for. Hopefully, these guys rebound next game and your fantasy team can stay afloat.

D’Angelo Russell

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
2/10 1/2 0/6 5 3 5 0 0 4

Ooof. The 5 assists save Russell from a complete stinker, but this was pretty rough. He was having a nice run and I expect him to bounce back in the next one.

Tobias Harris

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
5/11 2/2 0/2 12 7 4 0 0 1

This was a puzzling performance from Tobias, but nothing to be overly concerned with. He’s been a beast all season long, so we can chalk this one up to an off night. He’ll be right back to his top 30 form starting next game.

Trae Young

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
2/7 1/1 0/5 5 0 2 0 1 3

This will be a night to forget for the young rookie. There will be games like this for Trae. You just have to ride them out. While not technically standard league relevant, if you’re punting FG% and turnovers, he can produce.

Taurean Prince

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
0/7 2/2 0/4 2 2 1 1 0 1

Its hard to be patient if you roster Prince on your team. He’s been hit or miss and hasn’t lived up to the hype that he built post all-star break last season. He may just be one of those guys that takes a while to get going and could heat up later in the season, so he’s a potential buy-low.

Tim Hardaway Jr.

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
2/15 2/2 1/7 7 1 4 0 0 1

This was pretty bad. THJ’s game is set up for an occasional super whack game. Here it was. Maybe you got lucky on a super busy NBA night and didn’t play him.

Brook Lopez

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
3/17 1/2 0/12 7 5 0 0 4 0

Some nights you just go 3-for-17 and try to move on. The 4 blocks were helpful, but man he really wanted to get a 3 tonight. It just wasn’t in the cards.

Solid and Noteworthy

These are the good performances that we wanted to make note of.

Derrick Rose

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
11/17 1/1 2/2 25 2 3 0 0 2

Rose was kind of weak on counting stats, but the points and efficiency were great. He’s having this year’s most surprising season and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down, even with Teague back.

Karl-Anthony Towns

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
9/18 2/2 1/4 21 9 1 1 1 2

KAT obliterated Paul Milsap in the last game and has been showing a more aggressive side of late. He also dealt with foul trouble, but this was a pretty good game (triple one!) and he should keep improving. The buy low window on KAT has passed.

Jeff Teague

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
4/8 6/6 1/4 14 2 9 1 0 2

Is there anything more reliable than a standard Jeff Teague line? That helps in fantasy as you really know what to expect. Teague is always good for ok scoring, but nice assists, steals, and free throw shooting. One steal isn’t great, but you get the idea.

Spencer Dinwiddie

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
6/14 4/4 2/8 18 3 8 0 0 2

Dinwiddie played well again with 18/3/8 and 2 3’s. He could have been more efficient but had the best overall line on the Nets. He’s a decent play for the back of your bench and can offer good production in points, 3s, and assists.

Mike Conley

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
6/10 4/4 3/6 19 3 11 0 0 6

The 6 turnovers are kind of a bummer, and you would like to see some defensive numbers, but 19/3/11 with 3 3’s and great efficiency can only make fantasy GMs smile. Conley is sneakily having a top 50 season and I see no reason why that can’t continue.

Danilo Gallinari

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
6/14 3/3 5/8 20 9 2 0 1 1

Gallo has been riding high all season and continued his ascent against Memphis. With ice in his veins, he nailed all 3 free throws to end the game. Let’s be cautiously optimistic about health and enjoy the ride.

Chris Paul

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
7/16 4/4 2/6 20 4 9 0 0 2

CP3 had a better than solid night with 20/4/9 and 2 3’s. The efficiency was also nice. He’ll be a top 20ish player as long as he’s healthy.

Reggie Jackson

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
5/12 12/14 0/3 22 4 6 1 0 1

Reggie came through with a nice bounce-back game here offering a Harden-esque 12-for-14 from the stripe. He’s still only ok with the points, 3’s and assists, while usually killing your FG%, and he’s not really a standard league guy for now.

Nikola Mirotic

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
5/14 6/7 3/9 19 9 2 1 1 2

This was not his most efficient game, but solid numbers, contributing in every category. He’s rolling and should keep putting up top 25 stats.

Jrue Holiday

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
10/25 2/4 0/4 22 5 8 3 0 5

This game had some good and bad. Good scoring, boards, assists, and steals, with bad efficiency, no 3’s and 5 turnovers. Either way, Jrue continues to have an excellent season.

Collin Sexton

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
10/18 3/4 NA 23 5 3 1 1 2

He’s surprisingly been producing solid numbers, as Cleveland has been shorthanded without George Hill and Kevin Love. The scoring and efficiency are nice, but he seems to lack production in other cats. Still, this was a nice game.

Rodney Hood

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
10/20 NA 5/7 25 4 1 0 0 0

This was a nice game from Hood, but he showed here that he scores and hits 3’s, and that’s about all. If you needed a 3’s streamer, he is worth a look.

Tristan Thompson

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
8/14 2/2 NA 18 13 0 2 0 2

Thompson is always productive with boards, but the points were a nice bonus. He’s worth owning for the rebounding if you can handle the poor free throw percentage.

Jimmy Butler

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
8/14 3/4 3/4 22 2 2 2 1 1

This was a decent Jimmy game where he managed to contribute a little everywhere. He hurt his ankle in the 4th quarter so that is something to monitor. Overall, his time in Philly hasn’t altered his value in fantasy too much.

JJ Reddick

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
5/11 9/9 4/8 23 0 4 0 0 1

Reddick was killer from the line going 9-for-9. He continues to benefit from the Fultz situation and has been a great fantasy value this season. If Jimmy is out for any game, JJ will pick up even more slack.

Zach LaVine

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
11/27 1/1 1/5 24 4 9 0 1 3

Zach has enjoyed extra usage with Lauri Markkanen out and is producing a nice top 50 season so far. The scoring was great as usual, but the 9 assists were a welcome sight. He’ll never be a point guard after the failed Minnesota experiment, but while Dunn is out, he can shoulder some of that responsibility.

Paul George

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
8/21 NA 3/10 19 7 6 2 1 3

PG dealt with inefficiency here, but produced nice counting stats with 3 3’s and 3 stocks.

Aaron Gordon

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
5/11 3/4 1/4 14 9 5 1 1 1

This was a weird game for fantasy due to its blowout nature. Still, Air Gordon managed a solid line, contributing everywhere. He’s right at top 50, doing everything pretty well, with his main flaw being free throws.

Damian Lillard

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
9/24 2/3 3/7 23 2 8 2 1 2

Dame’s shooting from the field has been taking a hit. I fully expect him to bounce back. Even when he’s not being efficient, he’s still giving you production all around.

Jusuf Nurkic

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
8/15 6/10 NA 22 8 1 0 1 0

Nurkic’s line looks solid, minus the free throws. He continues his streaks of games with at least one block.

Heating Up

Hot streaks are always fun.

John Collins

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
7/8 2/4 NA 17 7 1 0 0 5

JC is working his way back. The efficient 7-for-8 from the field is a nice sign, along with the 7 boards. The counting stats will follow soon enough.

Jeremy Lin

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
6/10 5/7 2/4 22 4 6 1 0 1

Linsanity returns! Ok, maybe it was just one nice game, but it shows that he’s still capable of producing. When Trae has these off nights, combined with an injured Bazemore, Lin can really get it going. He’s a speculative add if he’s available.

Cedi Osman

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
7/14 4/5 2/6 20 8 2 0 0 1

That’s back-to-back 20 point games. Cedi has returned and should return to top 100 value. You can probably still buy him low if he isn’t sitting on waivers.

Thomas Bryant

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
3/7 NA 1/4 7 8 0 1 2 0

Obviously, this line does not stand out on its own, but as the Wizards look to shake things up, they could do worse than finding more minutes for the young and active Bryant, who held his own and showcased a solid shooting stroke and ability to defend and hustle…all things the Wizards could use more of.

Justin Holiday

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
9/16 4/4 5/10 27 13 2 3 1 4

The 3’s were enormous and contributed to the season-high 27 points. He also managed 13 rebounds, which nobody was expecting. He’s surprisingly riding a top 50 ranking on the strength of the 3’s and steals.

Jabari Parker

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
8/18 7/8 0/4 23 10 1 1 1 3

Jabari may finally be starting to heat up with back-to-back double-doubles. He’s also been aggressive, getting to the line 18 times over these 2 games. His stock could be on the rise, until Markkanen returns.

Malcolm Brogdon

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
8/10 3/3 3/3 22 3 4 1 0 0

Brogdon came out hot tonight and barely missed anything. He’s been quietly having a solid season and is standard league relevant. The ceiling will never be high but you could do worse than him for the end of your bench.

Mixed Bag

Unsure if good game with bad stats or bad game with good stats…

James Harden

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
9/27 12/14 3/11 33 2 8 0 1 7

Over the past 3 games, Harden is now 41/43 from the line. That should pretty much secure that cat for any fantasy GMs. The field goal percentage is rough, as are the turnovers, but this is what you get. Heading into tonight, he is the 3rd ranked player in fantasy. Harden is pretty good.

John Wall

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
5/13 NA 1/7 11 3 11 1 2 7

This was a letdown game after a few nice statistical outbursts. The 11 assists and defensive stats help out some, but how did he not go to the line once? He’ll be better than this moving forward.

Hassan Whiteside

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
8/13 2/7 NA 18 10 1 1 4 1

Whiteside can be a headache for fantasy GMs. The points and boards are nice, while the blocks are great, but that free throw performance was killer, in a bad way. I guess you knew what you were getting yourself into.

Nikola Jokic

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
2/7 2/2 0/3 6 10 11 2 0 0

Jokic managed the rare double-double that didn’t involve points. He dealt with foul trouble and a blowout game, so it held him back. He’ll bounce back and continue to work his way into that top 10 zone.

Brandon Ingram

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
8/14 6/10 2/3 24 6 0 2 0 6

Ingram came out hitting shots tonight. His free throws were another story. 6 boards and 2 steals are nice, but the 6 turnovers aren’t great. Regardless of the scoring tonight, he isn’t standard league relevant.

Where did that come from?

Well that was unexpected. Nice work, but can you keep it up?

Aron Baynes

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
5/7 5/5 1/1 16 9 4 0 1 2

Horford was ruled out of this one with knee soreness so it was up to Baynes to come through and he did so with elite efficiency. This was admittedly a weird game with most starters barely playing into the low 20s, but it was nice to see Baynes shine, albeit against inferior competition.

Emmanuel Mudiay

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
10/20 6/7 1/6 27 7 2 4 0 2

Mudiay looked aggressive and the guy that Denver hoped they were getting him a few years back. He’s flashed before so I’m not buying this, though, with the Knicks current wacky rotation, you never know. Regardless, this was a great game for Manny.

Allonzo Trier

FG FT 3PT Points Reb Assists Steals Blocks TO
9/12 4/6 3/3 25 8 4 0 0 0

Trier has been one of the fun stories so far this season. He came through last night and put up a nice line with high efficiency and a surprising amount of boards. He’s a deep league flier with scoring and 3’s potential.

Kevin, think it’s time to finally pull the plug on McGruder? I don’t like dropping someone who’s getting that many minutes but he hasn’t been helping me much over the last 30+ days. Punting assists so I could grab Mitchell Robinson to lock down blocks, grab Tucker or Zeller for some low-end value, or take a flyer on Mikal Bridges, Jordan Bell, or Lin? Hope you’ve been having a good Thanksgiving weekend!

  5. Kevin

Hey Geo, thanks for reading. I would still hold McGruder, but if you needed blocks or wanted to swing for the fences I could see going for Robinson (blocks) or Bell/Bridges (fences). Lin is also worth keeping an eye on since he’s been hot, but they could cut his role at any moment. I’d stay away from Zeller and Tucker.
