Entering last night’s game, Giannis Antetokounmpo was 131st on Yahoo rankings, mainly due to the high turnovers, low free throw percentage, and lack of threeecolas. Well, Giannis said F U to all the rankings and went HAM last night:

Granted, it was the Knicks but I don’t see many teams being able to slow him down, especially in this Budenholzer offense. He’s averaging a ridonkulous 16.5 rebounds, 25.5 points, 6.4 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal so far. The usage rates for each game have been 41, 38, and 37! The lack of threeecolas have always been an issue, and I don’t see that improving too much this year. The poor free throw shooting should improve, as he’s a career 74% from the charity stripe, and the turnovers should abate by a huge margin. Currently, he’s at 7 per game, while his career rate is 2.5. Ain’t nothing but a G thang, baby! G will be that top 10 player you drafted sooner rather than later.
Here’s what else I saw last night:
Kemba Walker

Prior to last night’s game, Kemba was leading the league in shot attempts with 98. He’s leading the Hornets with a 32.9 usage rate. Kemba on the rocks ain’t gonna cool this Hornet down. No sir.

Played 25 minutes off the bench. Nice to see contributions in the periphery cats, but the shooting efficiency continues to be an issue. He’s a nice guy to have at the end of the bench because he’s going to jack up plenty of shots, plays in a fantasy-friendly environment, and there’s serious upside if he gets more minutes.

Lowry’s a top 10 player for fantasy right now. Hollaa! Beep. Boop. Boop. The Stocktonator was all over Lowry last night (not literally), as he was the #4 overall player. Lesson? Pay heed to the Stocktonator. Anyways, Lowry is playing so well right now; shooting, defense, and getting his teammates involved. And there’s the added usage boost when Kawhi sits. Hopefully he stays healthy.

I really want to like Siakam because he oozes with both real-life and fantasy potential. The minutes, though. Like JV, he’s only getting around 20 mpg (21.3 to be exact). I’m a believer in Siakam and a stubborn mule, but I’d understand if you went a different direction.

Well, shoot. I may turn out to be a donkey on this one, as LaVine is balling like an All-Star. Gotta give a shout out to Brent. Too bad he’s probably busy jerking off to his LaVine poster. Can’t argue the contributions across the board, even providing the D. You’ll take the high turnovers if he can maintain this level. I have my doubts, especially with the efficiency, but I’m not such a stubborn mule that I’d change my stance if I see a trend has developed.

Draymond has been…..booty. Going into last night’s game, he wasn’t even in the top 200 for Yahoo and is 135 according to Basketball Monster. He’s not shooting and it’s not like he’s not getting good looks. He’s turning down or hesitating on wide open ones. With that said, I’ll side with the body of work over his career rather than go crazy over a four-game sample. If you can somehow pry Green away from an owner for cheap, then more power to you because he’s more than likely going to end up as a top 40-50 player when it’s all said and done….like he has for his entire career.

I Hart Josh. Played 39 minutes even though he came off the bench. Dude is so solid, as he contributes across the board. A good real life and fantasy player.
