After sorting through the latest injury updates — so long, Jalen Johnson; we’ll remember you fondly next draft season — Joel and Ossie break out the crystal ball and try to gaze beyond the trade deadline in search of future value. Are there tank commanders in Brooklyn or Charlotte that are worth stashing? What would a De’Aaron Fox trade mean for Malik Monk? Then, Joel updates his “Do Not Draft List” and Ossie reexamines his Razzjam roster (4th overall when recording) to see what’s propelled this group toward the top.

I traded away Draymond for Keegan. Need threes and scoring and have an abundance of assists so I think good for both teams. Am I reaching to think a new point guard might unlock him a bit more? I have Dray, OG, FVV, Powell and J Will out so fingers crossed on health.
Maybe a little, yeah, but I could also see it. Fox is the team leader in usage and I’d be surprised if whoever comes back to Sac in the deal would replace all of what Fox did. The trouble is you’d figured that Monk might nudge up a bit more on the other side of the deal, DD too if he’s still there too. Murray might get some additional scraps but I’m not sure he’d necessarily move up in the pecking order. It could happen but I wouldn’t be expecting a big swing
The voice of reality! Thank you. I still like the trade even at his recent 30 days output. More threes, better FG% and FT % and fewer turnovers. Could hurt me on boards and blocks. Pretty close?
Thanks for your content.
From your end, I think the Murray/Green swap is fine. I’m not even convinced you’ll be missing out on the glass that much, as Keegan holds his own there. Since you’re not sweating dimes, you’ll be alright.
As for the “New PG helps Keegan” Theory…I can’t say I’m enthused by bringing in Zach LaVine, who has comparable usage to Fox minus some of the passing. I don’t think you lost any ground in this Bulls/Kings move, but I’m not sure you gained any either.
Considering the playoff schedule, looking ahead to maximize games played. I’m looking to secure the counting stats as my fg% is variable week to week, ft% is not l great, and neither are TOs since I have high usage players. I also have Nic Claxton who I would like to move for a 3 point shooter.
I was thinking of floating the offer below, what do you think? I also
I would give up:
Durant (3-4-3)
Jaylen Brown (3-3-4)
Reid (3-3-3-)
I would get:
KAT (4-4-4)
Keegan (4-4-4)
DeRozen (4-4-4)
I’m into it. You accomplish your games goal and get back the best player of the bunch in Towns. You’re coming out ahead in boards, steals, dimes, and probably points since you’ll have the added volume. Between KD and Naz you might take a ding in swats but it’s marginal and you’re getting the extra game with KAT. It’s a gamble with the low-volume stats, but at least you get an extra bite of the apple. TOs per would tilt your way too but you might have to eat that one, as the games played cuts both way. FT% improves by getting off Brown. I’d take a shot at this.
Thank you for the quick and in depth reply!
Good stuff! Our trade deadline has passed so here is my squad in our 12 teamer and the WW:
G Allen, Strus, Ausar, Micic, Christie, Dinwiddie, Caleb Martin, DuncanRob
Any swaps? Of the top teams, blocks and turnovers are my weakest areas. FTs lag but I traded some poor charity stripe guys hoping to make that a 50-50 cat.
Jokic, J Allen, Duren, Ware
J Will, OG, N Powell, Keegan, Yasubele
Book, Maxey, Ayo, Giddy, FVV,
While I’ll cop to having an unhealthy amount of interest in Ausar, there’s nobody on this list that would crack your lineup. You’re sitting pretty as long as the injury bug stays away. The OG news is disheartening, but I wouldn’t be rocking the boat if I were you.
