When we finally saw the ultimate joker Jason Kidd put John Henson back into the starting line-up a couple of weeks ago, there was some excitement, except we all foresaw a pretty low-minute role.  Go-go Gadget, minutes limits!  With Greg Monroe playing pretty much like we expect Moose to play, and Miles Plumlee signed on a $50 million deal (more than Monta Ellis!), it didn’t seem like Henson would get enough of a role to be fantasy-reliable.  Then after a few starts, the Bucks go back to DNP-ing Henson and pissing away their best center.  They [shocker!] lost that DNP-Henson game against the Raps (but admittedly played em close), and Kidd must’ve finally gotten a divine intervention, and realized he should stick with Mr. Muppet.  And the rest, as they say, is history!  Go-go Gadget, winning streak!  The Bucks have gone 4-0 on 4 straight Henson starts (given two against the Mess, but whatever), and Muppet Man has gone 14.8/7.8/1.5/0.5/3.0 over that stretch in 25.2 minutes, shooting 55% from the field.  That line got accentuated by 20/7/2/1/2 on Saturday night against the Mess, thanks to solid post play and some sick-ass Giannis diming!

But the real stand out for me is the 3.8-4.5 FT over these last 4 starts, good for 83.3%.  He’s at 72.7% on the year, after being a mid-50ish% FT shooter over his career.  The stroke looks pretty clean, and I think this could be fairly legit.  Go-go Gadget, FT coaching!  At multi-blocks in 5 straight and settling into a 25 MPG start, Henson is a must-add everywhere.  Go-go Gadget, waiver gold!  Hopefully you heeded our “spec add in 12ers” advice a week ago, and you got a must-own big!  All we need now, is The Joker to keep from Kidd-ing around with the line-up!  Here’s what else went down over the weekend in Fantasy Basketball action:

Reggie Jackson Maybe the bigger story of the weekend, but I have REL bias!  23 minutes in his 16-17 debut, going 18/1/4.  Shot 7-12 from the field, hit his 2 freebies, and made a couple of treys.  Looked pretty good out there!  Expect the minutes to climb up from the 23 in this debut, and be happy you stashed a PG 2 or 3 in fantasy leagues!

Ish Smith Picked the wrong time to have his best two-game stretch (19/8/8 and 11/5/13), getting them right before R-Jax getting back.  Then tried to be a little show off last night.

It’s called a left hand, Ish, ever heard of it?!  11/1/2 in 25 minutes, and there’s no reason to expect him to be usable ala Tim Frazier with the starter back…

Aaron Gordon Ya know, got an and-one to score the game’s first points and I was pumped up, but ends up with a 10/3/0/0/0 line with 2-4 FT.  Getting that Skiles residue from the locker room!

Bismack Biyombo Besides getting twirled around on that Ish drive, put up 4/13/4 and 7/5/4/1/1 lines over the weekend.  4 assists in back-to-back games?!  Is their playmaking really that bad?!

Matt Barnes – Whoa, someone box out Matty B!  12/16/5/2/1 against the C’s, but aided by a DeMarcus Cousins absence due to 8 stitches in his face.  Boogie was fine and came back in, and as of this writing, Matty B is 0-5 with 1 REB through most of the first half against the Knicks.  Bleh.

Al Horford Big Al went Big Ham on the Kings, going 26/8/3/2/6 in a pretty epic rainbow.  Toss in 4 treys with that line, and you’ve got some baby-making music!  Except, ya know, just don’t skip a game if you’re making babies playing for the Celtics

Isaiah Thomas Then after Big Al’s big game, the C’s struggled against the Sixers, but fear not!  IT2/3 to the rescue!  37/4/7 on 11-19 FG and 13-15 FT.  It’s not the size of your NBA players, but how you use em!

Kyle O’Quinn The Irishman got a start with Joakim Noah out (kankle) on Friday night, and shined like a prize-winning potato going 20/13/2/0/2 on 9-11 shooting.  Remember when he was a darling waiver add from the Magic days?!  Seems so long ago…  Noah was back last night, but O’Quinn had 2 blocks in the first half, so maybe he can carve out some usability for streaming/deepers.

Cole Aldrich Speaking of Knicks centers being darlings, look at this former Knicks C showing the fantasy goods!  Suddenly getting huge (for him) minutes, going 10/12/2/2/3 and 4/8/1/2/2 over the weekend in 27 and 22 minutes, respectively.  0 TO in those games as well!  Now before we get too crazy, both the Knicks (Poison Goose) and the Hornets (all their PF/C right now) use pretty big lineups where it makes sense to play Cole next to KAT a little.  Not adding him in 12ers, but I might take a flier any deeper.

Brandon Ingram I’ve been hyper-critical of Ingram and couldn’t see him getting a ton of NBA success out of the gate, and after he went 17/6/2 Friday night, there were some “add Ingram?” comments.  Glad I threw my cold water on that!  Followed it up with a 9/5/1/0/3 line with 5 TO!  3 blocks is nice and all, but we’re obviously not expecting much of that.  And the cherry on top – that line was in a whopping 39 minutes!

Lou Williams Sweet Lou was Memphis-killer Lou on Saturday!  Although Memphis still won… Memphis-nuisance Lou?  No…?  40/2/1/2/0 Saturday night, shooting 11-20 FG and 14-14 FT.  They’re still going to prioritize developing D’Angelo Russell when he’s healthy, so it might be a good time to try and shop him around.

Luol Deng Choo Choo!  The Deng Train!  Oh wait…  Well, if you own Deng in deep leagues, it’s been more like “Choo Choo!  The MotherF Is Terrible Train!”  FINALLY did something to prove he was alive, going 18/5/0/4/1 Saturday night.  Did that in 36 minutes after averaging 24 MPG most of the year (got a lot of Larry Nance minutes, who missed with a knee bruise), and with Ingram playing his run, it’s tough to see much happen here.

Lucas Nogueira Hey Bebe!  Hey Bebe!  Huge weekend for the Brazilian, going 13/3/0/2/2 and 11/8/1/3/2.  And you want efficiency?!  Shot 10-10 FG and 4-4 FT in those two games.  100% FG and 100% FT!  I didn’t even need my fantasy basketball abacus for that!

Pascal Siakam Both of the young, toolsy Raps bigs had nice weekends, With Pascal going 8/7/1/1/1 and 14/3/0/1/2.  More of a deeper league play than Bebe, but Pascal can get some D stats too!

Atlanta Hawks – Ugh, talk about some bad losses!  Lost by 36 at home to the Pistons, then by 42 at the Raptors, which was a Toronto winning margin record.  Go ahead and give Paul Millsap the MVP, they’re the worst team in the NBA without him!  After starting a mad hot 9-2, have gone 1-9 the past 10 games, including their current 6-game losing streak.  Coach Butthole might be Coach Buttfired pretty soon!  Be like he ate some spicy wings!

Steven Adams Ugh, picked up a kankle last night.  He tried to fight through it, but came out in the 2nd and was ruled out pretty quick.  Hopefully the updated timetable today won’t be so bad…

Jimmy Butler Big win on Saturday night, beating the Cleveland LeBrons.  I blame this Cavs bumpy road lately on LeBron paying out his World Series bet and dressing up in Cubs gear!  26/8/6/3/2 on Friday night in a rainbow line for Mr. Buckets, and scored 26 again Saturday.  With Butler unable to top 67 games the previous 3 seasons, I would absolutely explore some sell-highs.

Rajon Rondo Microcosm of Rondo’s career!  Tripdub on Friday for 15/11/12/3/1, then horrific on Saturday for 2/2/2/1/0 and 5 TO.  He probably took a shower in between the games.  Well, let’s hope so!

Marcin Gortat Remember when SA was your primo matchup for your bigs?!  Well, the Ten Foot Pole got a ten foot rainbow against the Spurs on Saturday night, going 21/18/2/2/2.  Wiz still lost though, but that’s kinda a given these days…

Danny Green 3/0/1/1/0 with 3 TO against the Wiz.  Yuck.  Shouldn’t be on your radar except in the deepers, for some desperation streaming, or Spurs-only leagues.

Sam Dekker Ya know, I think I almost wrote him up once a few weeks ago saying he was looking better than I expected, but I think I ended up just moving on.  Oopsie!  Big week from Dekker for the deeper leaguers, with a 17/4/0/1/1 line – career-high scoring – on Friday night.  4 steals and 3 blocks in the last 4 games, and getting 26+ minutes the last 3.  I might even throw a flier add on him in a 14er.

Patrick Beverley 11/3/6/1/2 for PBev against the Nugs.  Huzzah D’Antoni system!

Will Barton Whoa, Will the Thrill shaking off his kankle!  So good to see!  17/7/5/1/0 then 20/5/4/2/1 on Fri/Sat, hitting 4 combined treys.  Played over 33 minutes in both of them too, on a back-to-back!  There’s a big chance he was cut in your league, so be sure he isn’t somehow available.  Big hits to  Jameer Nelson (moved to the bench, but 13/4/7 last time out, so I might hold him another game or two) and Jamal Murray (can be cut), who was settling into a nice scoring bench role.

Jusuf Nurkic Battling a little limp wrist, Nikola Jokic sat over the weekend, giving Jamba Jus a solo shot at C!  Andddddd, 10/7/0/2/2 with 4 TO and 8/4/1/0/0…  At least no TO in that Saturday game!  Ugh.

Anthony Bennett – I don’t know what’s worse, Nurk being that bad with a big opportunity, or that I have to bring up Anthony Bennett…  7/14/1/0/0 in a spot start for Trevor Booker out with the sniffies, so not too much to see here.

Joe Harris 17 points off the bench in that Bucks loss…  He does have multi-treys in 5 of 6 and in 4 straight, so he is getting some low-end ThrAGNOF appeal.

Frank Kaminsky After a solid run over the past few weeks, had an absolute awful pair of games scoring a combined 3 points at the end of last week, but thankfully found his stroke again Saturday for 21/9/5/1/1.  Now everyone will want to F Kaminsky again…

Cody Zeller Took out all his frustration with the injuries he’s fought through early this year with some mad swattage!  6/9/2/1/4 in a near-rainbow Saturday night, and even though he hasn’t scored in double-digits in 4 straight, is still producing a bit.  And he has great hands for baller assists!

Dario Saric Dario has been more like Dariblow in his rookie season, but a nice game on Saturday to build off of, going 21/12/2/1/0 with 3 treys.  But he’s shooting 38% on the season, bad D stats…  Meh…

Sergio Rodriguez – White chocolate getting me turned on again!  8/3/7 on Friday, then a big 15/5/8/2/0 with 4 treys Saturday night.  Jerryd Bayless got some PRP injected into his wrist; he just needs to be thankful he’s got the Sixers med staff and not the Pels – the NOP medical staff woulda mixed up the PRP with PCP.

Troy Daniels Whoa, what in the world?!  As I mentioned late last week, I brought up Daniels in the Grizz team preview as a sneaky, deep-ThrAGNOF target, but obviously didn’t expect THIS!  After back-to-back 19 point games, Daniels went OFF for 31/2/4/1/1 against the Lakers on Saturday night.  For the love of career-highs!  Minutes went 21, 28.5, 34, and the Grizz have won the last two.  I don’t know if this is dependable enough as anything beyond a ThrAGNOF though – 13-25 treys in this 3 game run – but if that’s a stat of need in the short-term, go ahead and grab him!  But I’m not dropping main assets in a 10/12er for this hot streak.

Wade Baldwin Putting the WIN in his last name!  8/4/2 with no TO on Friday, then 7/2/9/3/1 Saturday.  Andrew Harrison was still OK in that Sat win (6/4/4/1/1), but there’s rumors going around the Grizz will pick up Toney Douglas since they have an injury exception coming, which would make this situation even more annoying…

JaMychal Green 16/13/1/0/3 in that Lakers win, giving him a long stretch of fantasy goodness.  Super Green!

Deron Williams – 15 assists against the Bulls on Saturday night, one for each one of his calf strains over his career.  Woo.  Hoo.

Dwight Powell What does it take to get this guy some playing time?!  Dirk getting injured?!  The fact he’s signed to a long-term deal?!  He’s playing well when given a chance?!?!?!?!  17/8/1 in that win against the Bulls, giving him 10 points in 3 of 5 with a handful of D stats in a little more consistent PT.  Although getting megged by Batum couldn’t have felt great…

Hassan Whiteside Whiteside…. STRONG SIDE!  Whiteside…  STRONG SIDE! Haven’t done that in a while!  28/16/1/0/5 against the Blazers late Saturday night, on 12-16 shooting.  Making Plumlee look like Plumplee!

James Johnson While it looks like he might’ve had a “phased out” game, his 17 minutes last time out were due to a pair of techs.  Use those neck tats to keep your head on straight, JJ!

Dragan Bender I think his first in-season Daily Notes shout!  10/4/1/0/1 in 25 blowout-loss minutes against the Warriors.

Hit a couple treys, shot 4-6, showed a little drive game, didn’t turn it over… Not bad for his first regular season extended look, junk time or not!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and is looking forward to week 7.  Season is already flying by!

    Hi JB

    1. Being offered Gallo for pbev. Take?

    2. Thoughts on Troy Daniels and Dwight Powell? Dropped mirotic finally. Terrible.

    3. AD for Giannis + Crowder, who wins?

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Hamtime: 1. Man… I like what Beverley is doing but I think I take Gallo, it’s the volume FTs.
      2. Daniels is a roster filler while everyone is hurt. I’m not reading anything into that except for a very short term add. Powell is interesting, minutes are going up, he’s been great with the dstats, per36 of 2.6 steals! and 1.1 blocks, FG% is climbing, doesn’t hurt FT%, plus the mavs are terrible and he’s signed and still 25 years old. In a 12er he’s on the outside looking in but he’s getting close.
3.I almost always take the 1 in a 2-fer-1 but I had Giannis ahead of Brow in the preseason and the injury concerns haven’t exactly dissappeared. If he goes down you will certainly regret not making the trade. If he doesn’t go down and you do make the trade are you getting any worse? I don’t think so. Yeah I’ll take Giannis side.

        (link)

@Slim: Thanks Slim! should i drop troy daniels for seth curry then? dwill has been playing well tho.. btw, my questions are for a 16m 11cat league.

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Slim: @hamtime: 1. Yup Gallo 2. I’d rather Daniels while hot, but yeah, Dwight P for sure ROS, especially as the Mavs get a worse and worse record. 3. Yup I want Giannis side too! Feels safer, and just as much upside.

I would keep riding Daniels > Curry

  2. Lasandro says:
    (link)

So does “Super Green” equate to “trade JaMychal for Muppet Man in roto”? Even once ZBo returns, how is this guy not gonna get 25min+ going forward. His motor is stupid! In a L that counts O brds, he’s even Greener. Chris Tucker approves! But yeah, I’m a Henson-homer for life, since a couple of years back. Just tell me that his tole is safe..

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Lasandro: Not as long as Kidd is at the helm. But maybe, I mean remember in Middleton’s breakout year Kidd had him getting DNPs to start the year. It’s obvious that Henson is way better than the other options. Now JaMychal vs Henson is pretty good but I’m sticking with JaMychal and yes his minutes are abslutely secure (Randolph is mostly playing backup center these days). I’m not a believer in Henson shooting over .650 FTs and there have been times in his career in which his TOs have been out of control. Plus JaMychal gives that 0.5 a 3 per game and is no slouch with the dstats. I mean if you were desperate for blocks I could see making the offer but I believe that’s the only category Henson has the edge. I would think differently if Henson was getting 30 minutes but I don’t see that happening, I think this 24ish min role is perfect for him and keeps him just inside the top 100, and I think Henson will have a lot more variation in his stat lines game to game than JaMychal due to the minutes and of course Kidd…

    • Lasandro says:
      (link)

@Slim: This is great Slim, exactly what I needed to read! Cheers. Between the two guys, I just love watching JaMychal out there. Dude is kinda Nets Kenyon Martin-ish, with less alley-oop dunks and more 3s. He’s a tough dude.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Slim: @Lasandro: Role safe with Kidd? No way. But they are 5-0 in his last 5 starts, on a 4 game winning streak with him out there.

I’d take Henson, and it’s because when Randolph is going and Parsons is ready – who might play some stretch 4 – I could really see J Mike’s USG/Reb dwindling.

        • Slim

          Slim says:
          (link)

@JB Gilpin: So what you’re saying is that if they start losing Henson could be replaced? He also has a DNP in those last 6 games too. I’m rolling him out there in a 12er in a league I need blocks so it isn’t like I don’t think he’s worthy but I’m WAY more concerned about Kidd’s rotation madness than I am with the 35 year old Randolph, but I get the eventual USG concerns. But I’ll still take JaMychal in 3s, FT%, stls, and TOs, Henson in blocks, with FG%, points, boards, and assists as a push. The opponents you mentioned (Nets) and ORL in 4 of those 5 games, with a meh game vs Tristan does concern me, and one of those ORL games was not very good.

          • JB Gilpin

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@Lasandro: @Slim: Yeah not like they’re far apart, and Green is safe. I think his blocks could be big enough if he maintains the role to be more valuable long-term though, of course not without risk

  3. Clos says:
    (link)

Rubio got dropped in my league. Would you drop Elfrid, Bogdanovic or Bazemore for him? Also I have one IL Spot with parsons being stashed there. Would you drop any of those 3 guys to stash Simmons on the bench?

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Clos: Yeah I’d drop Bogdan unless you were desperately needing points. Nah, I’d hold off on Simmons until Parsons returns.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:

@Clos: @Slim: Yup with Slim on these, nab Rubio and hold Chandler!

  4. Slim

    Slim says:
    (link)

It’s official, Frazier is done. 15 minutes off the bench is no bueno. And Ish obviously, and Jameer with Barton back, and Augustin since Elfrid is ok. I’m just refering to 12ers btw, in deeper leagues these guys 15-20 min roles will still have some value.1

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Slim: Yup, I noticed that late last night, but was too tired and angry at the Panthers game to made a late edit. I’m with ya, but more on Magic in a sec…

      (link)

@jay: Yeah both are unownable in 12ers right now. I don’t know what’s going to happen… I have him in one league and I’m heavy assists in that league, I may be getting close to moving on.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@jay: @Slim: Yeah I actually own both in one RCL, more due to how streaming worked than any specific “plan” to own both. I’ll be addressing losing both as the weekend comes and some streaming moves pop up…

  6. Stat Studded says:

    Hey JB,

Would you trade Kemba/Oladipo for Kawhi in a 9-cat H2H? Or maybe offer Fournier if Oladipi is too much

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Stat Studded: Sure, I like both offers. I might start with Fournier/Kemba if they’re a very active owner, and up it if they decline – can’t hurt starting low!

  7. Adams says:
    (link)

Where would you rank Steven Adam’s ROS? An owner dropped him in a 12 team 9-cat and I’m wondering if I’m the crazy one for wanting to pick him up asap

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Adams: I got grilled for ranking him low pre-draft, but he’s def been better than I expected and certainly shouldn’t have been dropped. Ummmm, 80-90ish? That said, he did sprain his ankle last night, so could be looking at some missed time

  9. Peter says:

    Hey!
I’m getting a lot really decent offers for Kevin Love and I was wondering if any of these players would be worth the trade. Thanks for the help!

    Love for Blake Griffin
    Love for Whiteside
    Love for Brook Lopez
    Love for Ariza/Monta Ellis

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Peter: Yo! Yeah def is now the time to sell high! Blake… Hmmm close right now. Whiteside hell yes! Brook I like game to game, but worry about a shutdown. I guess Love could be as bad with DNPs… Strong no for Ariza/Ellis

I picked up Henson immediately in one of my leagues after that pass Gianni’s fed him that turned into an easy dunk in one of the weekend games. Hopefully it continues!

Is Clarkson must own in a 9 cat 10’er with fairly large rosters? Would drop one of Elfrid,Mudiay, Reke, Winslow, Matthews for him. what would be a fair FAAB on Clarkson out of $100?

    Thanks!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@miles proudfoot: Yeah man, that pass was nasty!

Yeah Clarkson should prob be owned, I know you stashed him a while, but I would lose Reke. $15ish?

Wayne Ellington & Donatas Motiejunas what is your take on them ?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@PHIL: Ellington – ThrAGNOF, benefiting from injuries for expanded run, has had a lot of health issues. Only a streamer. DMo – Booker has played too well to lose his spot. Backup PF for now. Deep league flier or deeper dyno add? That would be about where I’d be interested

      • Slim

        Slim says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Ellington isn’t a bad streamer though and goes tue/wed.

      • Slim

        Slim says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: So nowadays I consider anyone getting paid $10 mil a year or under to be backup money. DMo is right on that edge and at least for this year I don’t see how he can send Booker to the bench, he’s been way too good.

  12. Chris says:

I want to drop Kyle Korver for Troy Daniels. JB/Slim, are you guys on board with that?? I want something to hold me over in 3ptm for this week. Thinking of picking up Nick Young in a week or 2 to stash for long term…

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Chris: Sure, especially with it more of a short-term thing. I don’t think you’ll miss Korver too much. If no IL, I don’t think there’s any reason to stash Swaggy, but I am pretty anti-Young

Concerns with Gorgui? Do I start Taj Gibson over him?

    • Slim

      Slim says:

        JB Gilpin says:

What would you do with Nurkic? Is he safe to drop for someone like PJ Tucker or Sam Dekker?

    • JB Gilpin

@Ryan: Def not safe, he could be 30 MPG next week and be a monster again. I don’t mind losing him, but I don’t think I would for those options.

I need help with assists who should I target in a 10-team, 10 cat roto (FTM) league?

    Team:

PG: Curry, Jrue Holiday, Jeremy Lin, Tim Frazier
SG: Irving, Avery Bradley, Danny Green
    SF: Wiggins, TJ Warren (IR)
    PF: Dieng, Booker, John Henson
    C: BroLo, Embiid, Jokic

These guards don’t generate much assists, neither does my team. Make a trade for Wall? Or continue to go dumpster diving.

These are the PG’s available on the wire: Dellavedova, Beverley

    Who sh

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

somebody in my league dropped Harkless for Kanter(actually routing for him this year which is not like me). Have Jamychal Green and Harkless now as my bottom tier guys. Who do you see finishing out the rest of the season stronger?? They seem pretty comparable in their skill set and role but I worry about Parsons returning to full strength. I didn’t play last year and missed your podcasts. keep it up!!

Hey fellas, been tinkering w my squad and swapped gortat for kanter, need ft help, and Gallo plus Len for princess Tobias, but I need a broad stroke to avoid real life Toronto raptors status : nice team with no hope at the Chip.
Would you trade Kat and either dangelo or dragic for kd if they were willing to ? I’m good w pgs got Lowry,Bledsoe, goran, barksdale, rose and even dwill if I need to stoop that low.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@jozepi: So you got Gortat, or lost him? Def like Gortat more. I like the Tobias side though.

Ummm, sure, especially if it can be Barksdale. Always wanna consolidate to get the best players and KD is redonk right now!

Lost by 15 points and 2 steals this week thanks to the Kings assault brothers Collison and Barnes missing the game in Philly because the court wasn’t reacting well to the hockey game the day before. Another reason to hate hockey. Am I asking for bad karma rostering these two?

On the recent Barnes news, is this something NBA will take action on? Hunting down DFish was 2 games, if he gets more than that is there any way he is a hold in a 12er?

Deron Williams an assist for each calf strain in his career lol

@Dusty: Haha stupid hockey! Mannnn yeah you def had that W, I’m sure that PPD messed a lot of people up.

Yikes, didn’t see that Barnes news yet. He’s fringy as it is, any sort of suspension and he’s def a cut.

Hahaha yeah I thought that was a good one 🙂

@Ryan M: Haha I hadn’t forgotten! They’re a little obscene, I def shoulda said Harden AND Russ are givens for TO crappage!

  23. Noah says:
    (link)

Hi. I’m in a standard 9-cat H2h league with one IR and I’m in dead last. Here is my team:

    PG: George Hill, Bledsoe
SG: Eric Gordon, C.J. Miles, Matthews, Bazemore
    SF: Kawhi, Crowder, Carroll
    PF: Dieng, Favors (INJ)
    C: Whiteside, Henson
    IR: Parsons

Clearly I need help with assists and points as I am not looking to punt any cats. Also, some guys like Matthews and Bazemore are ruining my fg%, with most of my top tier guys it should be higher. A few offers I’ve looked at:
    1) Kawhi for Kemba and Jabari
    2) Whiteside and Bazemore for Griffin and Fournier (the guy has RoLO and Gortat, should I try and get one of those as well so I am not butchering my BLKs and REBs?)
    3) Kawhi, Whiteside, Dieng for Derozan Millsap, Turner and Mills
    – Any worth doing?

FAs: Nance, Sefolosha, Nick Young, Frye, Patterson, Danny Green (just dropped him for Miles), Tyler Johnson, Ross, Terrence Jones, Roberson.

Also, is there a two for one I should try with Bazemore + Matthews for a more efficient 3-point shooter/scorer? have tried a few but keep getting rejected?

    Thanks a ton!

    • Noah says:
      (link)

@Noah: BTW are there any other deals or players you can think of that would help my squad?

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Noah: Ugh yeah injuries have hurt ya. 1- Nah 2 – Yeah I would counter high and see if you could get Gortat, and if so it’s pretty close. Ehhh still leaning no though, 3 – Nah

So yeah, I would shoot higher on deals, and more apt to sell Kawhi given team needs. Maybe shop Crowder high for a scoring PG type?

I don’t think I’m making any FA moves either. It looks like your STL are pretty good, what about Crowder for Schroder + something, and counterbalance efficiency with a Baze+Matthews trade to a team needing 3s

        • Noah says:
          (link)

@JB Gilpin: Hmmmm. Been looking around a bit. The team that has Schroeder has Beal as well and Adams. would two of those guys be worth it for Crowder? Or maybe trading for Dragic + Jabari or Reddik for some assists plus FG

          • JB Gilpin

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@Noah: Oh definitely! I would ask for Schroder and Beal, but would take Adams too.

  24. Craig says:
    (link)

Should I trade Schroeder and G Hill to get D Howard and J Parker? I have Bledsoe, Harden, Mudiay, Collison, and Payton and my bigs are Brow, Pau, T Harris, and Adams. Could counter for Millsap instead of Howard

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Craig: Even with good PG depth, i would go higher than that. Millsap I could be down for

  25. Doctor G says:
    (link)

JB! Hope your weekend was blessed my man. Got a quick question for you. Would you trade Horford and Oladipo for Kristaps in a 12 team H2H Keeper league (keep 3). I know its a lot to give up for one season but man the poison goose is only 21 and his potential seems to be unlimited, and I’d likely be keeping KD + Kristaps + Millsap in that scenario. Also, Jahlil worth a pick up now that hes playing next to Embiiiiiid? And one final one since I got your attention, would you add RHJ, JR Smith, Dellavedova, Aaron Gordon, or Smart for Andrew Harrison/Payton/Reke/Tyson or any of my injured?? Also the Sam Dekkers/Boguts/Korvers of the world available. Just for reference, heres my team:

    Guards: Payton, Oladipo, Harrison
    Forwards: KD, Demmarre, Gallo
    Centres: Millsap, Horford, DJ, Tyson
Injured (2 IL): Lin, Parsons, TJ, Tyreke, Conley

Thanks as always bud, appreciate it more than you could ever know!!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Doctor G: Thanks man, appreciate it! Yup I like that deal! I’d be on the fence in redraft, but I like it in a keeper, especially in a 3 keeper league where you wanna consolidate into pure studs.

Meh on Jahlil. I like other pickups better. I honestly would cut Conley, I don’t wanna wait that out. I’d add Delly and Smart i think for Harrison and Conley. Worried about this Toney Douglas signing for Harrison.

Any time man, really appreciate that!

      • Doctor G says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Thanks man!! Forgot to mention that Sergio and J-Rich are also available, I’d assume both of them > Delly/Smart? Or maybe drop Elfrid/Tyson as well? Thanks a bunch man!!

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Doctor G: Hmmm, yeah a lot of fringe guys in the same range. I would take the shot on JRich over Smart. Delly just seems to fit an AST need. Maybe nab Sergio over Smart actually and see if you can get a dimes win this week

Toney Douglas sighting in MEM. Gonna be musical chairs for this back court situation in MEM. Have 2 leagues where the chase for the Real Troy of MEM is ongoing. Douglas per 36 in NOR looking like throw the dice worthy if he’s gonna end up getting bulk of mins.

  27. Jake says:
    (link)

    Hi JB and Slim,

I never thought I’d say this but Andre Roberson is close to must own in 12ers. He’s averaging a combined 3.3 steals, block and threes. Couple that with low TOs, fair percentages, and ample playing time and you have yourself a solid fantasy asset

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Jake: Oh for sure! Been a real surprise. My only qualm is it’s soooooo spotty game to game. Actually, I wrote that and looked him up, and it’s been wayyyyy more consistent than I thought. It’s just very low scoring, and usually the STL/BLK guys can do 1 other thing decent. Def usable, I dunno if he’s at must-own yet. Like James Johnson vs. him… Not too far off…

      • JG

        JG says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Would be nice to get those 3s to about 1.3-1.5 avg. Split of Danny Green’s 2014 and 2015 seasons minus the volume of 3s (and thus the lower scoring). But I’d grab him over Danny Green and see if 3s do come. Need those 3PA to get to about 3.5-4+ (currently at 2.6). Not sure it can get there assuming no inj to backcourt.

        • Slim

          Slim says:
          (link)

@JG: I’ve streamed Roberson a few times in RCLs, never actually thought of keeping him though, and I still have James Johnson on a team… but admittedly I’ve got good results from steaming Roberson.

          • JB Gilpin

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@JG: @Slim: @Jake: @Slim: Agree, I’d be playing Roberson over Danny G. I’m with ya Slim, I know I’ve streamed him once or twice, but where I have J Johnson I’m holding

  28. Bye Felica says:
    (link)

I’m one game away from cutting Aaron Gordon for Robertson. It’s ridiculous the shitty value he’s putting up this year. Even with 25 mins he should be doing more.

God the Magic are such a shit show

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Bye Felica: I’d be good playing Roberson right now!

  29. which one says:

in a 12 team h2h daily league 9 cat FG FG% FT% pts 3’s ast stl blk rbs would you drop tim frazier for sam dekker?? right now frazier is a starter for me because my entire bench is inj with no IR spot. I now have favors, lin and covington on my bench so I have zero mobility….SUX… I know drop cov but he’s one of my better D players specially steals and his 3’s are nice. BTW i have entertained the idea of dropping covington for jamycal green?? what do you think? thx for your help !!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@which one: Def good losing Frazier, Dekker is pretty low end though. Def good losing Covington if you need a spot, and might need to cut 1 or 2 of the IL stashes

I agree that Nurkic was poopy with no Jokic, but he isn’t to blame when you see that he played 20 and 13(!) minutes in the 2 games with no Jokic. Mike Malone is slowly creeping into SKIIIIIIILES territory this year with me. I almost rage dropped Nurkic on Sunday, but I saw he plays against the Sixers today. If Malone doesn’t give him 25+ minutes I will probably cut ties, sadly.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@JashFath: MALOOOOOOONE! Might need to start that up. Yeah I cut him in one league, i think sill have him in one RCL, praying

        JashFath says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Hahaha MALOOOOOOONE! I like it. Luckily I hung on and got the near rainbow line (just one more assist! Pass the damn ball!) in 24 minutes. Malone was teasing my threat to drop him if he didn’t get 25 minutes lol. I guess it was good enough for me to hang on for another game….

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@JashFath: Hah yeah I might have to run with it! Yeah an OK game, wish he could get the TO to 0 or 1 and make his damn FT though!

C: Valanciunas, Gibson, Drummond, Henson, Dieng

@dt: Nice, like that move! Def needed another blocks source, and you have great 3s. Perfect move! Right now, I would say Barton for medium-term> Harris

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Tyler: ROS I would go S-Rod, Marvin anddddd RHJ I think? I dunno, these are all pretty fluid. I like Rodriguez for now since he’s starting, and Nogueira if you need some D stats

      • Tyler says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: worth burning a waiver for S-Rod? I also grabbed Saric for Jr smith.

        • JB Gilpin

          @Tyler: Yeah I think so

        • JB Gilpin

          (link)

@Tyler: Yup I would say Green is most expendable. I’d try for Miro upside still and hold him, so losing Green and Korver
