What a way to kick off the week!  Well, that is, if you own Rudy Gobert!  Monsieur Elbow says “No!”  And “Oui, I own l’paint!”  Absolutely monstrous 16/14/3/0/8 last night against the Pacers, hitting 7-12 from the field with only 1 TO.

So much swattage!  His 13 blocks the last 2 games now gives him a 13.2/12.8/1.2/0.7/2.6 slash on the year, hitting 65% from the field.  Oddly 65.5% from the stripe too!  Which isn’t good, but not a punt either.  BB Monster has him 20th overall in per game stats, and 12th in total.  Absolutely insane draft day value, but it really grinds my gears he’s doing this this year, and not in 2015-16!  Had him 11th and well above consensus, just one year too early – stupid FIBA wore him down.  Focus on the NBA, you Frenchy!  Oh shit, now he’s gonna hunt me with one of those elbows, NOOOOOO!!!  Here’s what else went down last night in fantasy hoops action:

Gordon Hayward – Also was stifling with his offense!  38/3/2/2/1 in a near rainbow with 3 treys, for a career-high night.  So weird that Gobert on his swat game and Hayward on his O game wasn’t enough to beat the Pacers…

Rodney Hood – Returned to the starting line-up, but thanks to foul trouble and the fact he’s coming off another leg issue, only played 16 minutes.  Gave you 11 points and 2 treys though.  Back into the ThrAGNOF class.

C.J. Miles – Speaking of ThrAGNOFs, no real standouts for the Pacers, just a nice team win with 43.7% from the field, 50% from 3PT land, and 91.3% from the stripe, with only 7 team TO.  Miles for 15/2/0/3/0 on 4-6 FG (3-3 3PTM 4-4 FT 0 TO) helped the effort for the nice team efficiency.

Robert Covington – Man, some monster games from your Sixers, led by Lord Covington!  24/13/0/4/2 with 3 treys in a whopping 45 OT-aided minutes.  After that rocky start, he’s turned into quite a value.

Dario Saric – I was uber-late in buying in, but damn he’s been great.  18/5/0/1/1 with 2 treys in only 25:30 because he fouled out.  Stop the hackin’!

Richaun Holmes – Whoa, things just keep getting better and better!  24/14/4/1/1 with a trey on 11-19 shooting in 42 minutes.  I remember owning him in REL for a stretch last year.  I was also lamenting owning Anthony Rizzo in my shallow baseball dynasty while on the Padres.  Goddammit I have an itchy trigger finger!

Terrence Ross – While the Magic won in OT, Vogel spread the minutes much thinner, and nothing was all that exciting.  I guess nice to see Ross back to some D stats, going 15/5/2/1/1 with 2 treys, if you want an upsidey ThrAGNOF play.

Dennis Schroder – Speaking of D stats, look at the bonus swattage you found!  20/3/6/0/2 with 3 treys in only 31 minutes, as the Hawks got rocked by Charlotte.  Not a loss they can afford, against a really underperforming Whorenets team this year.

Frank Kaminsky – Led the Whorenets in minutes off the bench, going 14/3/5/1/2 with 3 treys.  Cody Zeller had some foul trouble, but that’s 3 straight 30+ minute games again for Frank the Stank with decent enough results.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist – Picked up a kankle.  MKG said he’s fine, but Chinese restaurants said MSG was fine for a while too…

Markieff Morris – About your only bright spot for the Wizards last night, going 11/4/0/0/1.  Which isn’t even good, but it was nice to see him back on the court.

Marcin Gortat/Ian Mahinmi – No joke, I streamed Mahinmi in an RCL where I had a bye, just to double down on their bigs to kick off the week.  I get 4/4/3/0/0 from Gortat in 12 minutes with 0-2 FT, then Mahinmi still only gets 17 minutes, going 0/4/0/0/0.  I hate everything.

Isaiah Thomas – Much better goodness on the green end, with IT2/3 returning from his knee bruise for 25/4/4/2/0 with 2 treys.

Jae Crowder – It’s been a rough season for non-Roto, but gave you a very strong 16/9/1/3/1 with 3 treys last night if you were able to hold onto the Boston Clam Crowdah.

Will Barton – Willy being Thrilly!  Willy being Silly!  Damn if my REL team doesn’t desperately need a big week from him, and I got a phenomenal start with his 24/7/8/1/1 line with 4 treys.  Unreal.  That said, not expecting things to stay this hot – feels a little D’Antoni effect.

Juancho Hernangomez – Slim’s favorite name to over-pronunciate had a nice showing, going 15/5/1/1/0 with a trey in 33 minutes.  No Rooster or WILLLLLLLSON!!! helped open up the run and he’s on a decent little stretch if those guys are out again.  But Gallo said he wants to be back tomorrow against the Cavs, and Wilson said the same.  Saving it for the best!  Something that I certainly didn’t do with my V card…

Gary Harris – Slim would throw himself at Gary Harris any time!  28/1/2/3/0 with 3 treys in a great game.  He’s indeed on a nice little run.  If he’s healthy through camp next year, I’ll rank him very well for 2017-18.

James Harden – I don’t even wanna GIF it, it’s too depressing…  39/7/11/4/0, and with the Rockets down 1, grabbed a rebound under the Nugs basket, and just easily dribbled straight down the court for the winning layup with 2 seconds left.  It’s frustrating, because if anyone even grazed their fingernail on his Beard, it would be a foul anyway.  Ugh.

Stephen Curry – Man, things got chippy in the National game!  A flurry of techs after a little kerfuffle, as even without KD, the Warriors are just far superior.  While it’s kinda annoying as an unbiased fan to see the Dubs steamroll, I kinda feel bad for poor little OKC.  Russell Westbrook kinda has Napoleon syndrome, ya know?  He’s just the leader of his poor little baby empire…  Anywho, 23/4/6 with 7 treys for Curry, with none bigger than a statement trey right at half after the shoving matches.

Klay Thompson – Also hit 7 treys, for a 34/6/2/2/0 line.  Tough to beat the Dubs when Splash Bros. go for 7 treys apiece.

Steven Adams – Ew.  9/1/0/0/0 with 2 turnovers.  Not the best night for fringy big men!  Slim actually streamed out Adams in one of his main leagues due to 3 games, and hit a home run with that decision.

Kristaps Porzingis – I know this is like a 5-yr-old’s analysis, BUT DAYUM HE’S SO TALL!!!  I dunno why, but I watched some of this and kept gawking at his height when he was driving on Blake.  Maybe I just don’t watch enough Poppycockers.  Broke his ankles once too, but didn’t finish the drive.  Or else I woulda freaked out.  18/11/2/2/0 in a decent Goose line.

Blake Griffin – Speaking of Blake, had a monster game of 30/6/2/1/1 with 3 treys.  Although I’m super pissy he shot 3-7 FT, while I’m going against DeAndre Jordan in REL, who doesn’t go the FT line.  JFC!

Austin Rivers – Got a little extra junk time as the Clip benched most of the starters for the 4th quarter, going 17/1/2.  “Daddy, we’re winning big!  Lemme play daddy!  Daddy!”

I hope everyone got off to a strong start in their matchups this week, and looking forward to the next 6 days of battle!  Let me know how things are going in your leagues, and catch you later in the week!
