As I mentioned last week, every Wednesday I will release tiers for G/F/C in rotating fashion. This early in the season, there won’t be too many changes unless dudes like Danny Granger or Brandon Rush go out for a lengthy amount of time. The other exceptions are guys like Ersan Ilyasova who have STUNK SO BADLY that they pretty much demand me move them down. Here’s the original tiers, last week’s Guard tiers, and next week will be the Centers. Look for more in depth analysis as we get deeper in the season but for now there’s not too much moving around. If you disagree with my tiers, then f*ck you. Whoops! I meant if you disagree, flame me in the comments. Lol, I did it again…let’s try one last time…if you disagree, please enlighten everybody in the comments with your well thought out argument.

Aminu?
@Bootsy, Yep you’re right. I overlooked him. He’ll go right before Ersan Ilyasova.
Kevin Seraphin. Everyone (well, most of the peeps who write about fantasy basketball) loves him. But… dude’s had one good game. I’m holding him in one league, but I’m starting to wonder why. The whole, “Wizards aren’t good, Seraphin is the future” line isn’t justifying his spot on my roster at this point.
Help me understand why he should stay…
@Nick, His numbers last year were very good towards the end of the year. If you need to drop him for someone then go right ahead. Seraphin is one of those guys that would occupy the last spot on your bench. Also, he had that calf injury for a bit so the team may be wary on overusing him so soon. Keep an eye on him, especially because Nene is always injured.
1. What sort of trade value do you think Rose has is H2H leagues?
2. My current squad consists of:
I. Rondo, Lowry, Sweet Lou, Joe Johnson, and Rose
II. Love, Monroe, Faried, Beez, Wallace, Hawes, R. Lopez and Valanciunas
I’ve been floated an informal offer of McGee and Humphries for Rose. Would you pull the trigger on this deal? If I do, I’d quickly swap Faried for someone like Curry.
@Mr. Ballistik, If this isn’t a keeper league and you can sell Rose for ANYTHING, do it now. NOW. NOW.
Who do u like better Larry Sanders or Jose Calderon?
@Sagnof, Larry Sanders unless Lowry is out for quite a bit. Or if you’re really hurting for assists.
@James Redacted, I have alot of reb and blocks to spare, but im worried about how calderon will be when lowry comes back
Is it worth the gamble?
Lowrys health status is uncertain, they r saying he’s getting a second opinion in ny
@Sagnof, When Lowry comes back Calderon will go back to the bench role with 20 minutes per game production. Since you have reb and blocks to spare, I think you should wait for the news on Lowry before making the drop.
James, do you still stand by your earlier SELL on Anderson Varejao given his consistent play and chemistry with Kyrie Irving? The two clearly seem to be on the same page with each other on the pick and roll and Cleveland does not have any other well qualified big men.
Any insight into the shooting woes of Klay Thompson? I know it’s been a small sample size but he has been consistently at or below 40% to the point where his FG% is becoming a liability for my team. I liked his talent and opportunity coming into this season but do I hold or sell him?
@SetPhaserstoDL, Yes, Varejao has been performing like a top 10-20 player. He will not do this all year. I’d buy him as top 70 though.
I’ve actually watched some of the Warriors games this year and Thompson is going to get plenty of opportunities. He definitely had a bad shooting night last night but I’d look for him to rebound. Hold.
Don’t let Z-Bo find out you called him a plain jane… He might cut you. That mofo is crazy.
Also, Hedo Turkoglu agrees with your assertion that he stinks. Both literally and fake-basketball-wise.
Trade question:
h2h league, 10 tm 9 category
Was offered Dragic for my Pau Gasol
My roster:Jrue, Wade, AJ Price, D Wright, Jamal Crawford, Lillard, D. Green, Gallinari, L Sanders, A. Davis, Monroe, Pekovic, Boogie and the older, smellier Gasol
other team is guard heavy and won’t trade back another big as far as I can tell.
I think the assists would be helpful but worried about the loss of Gasol’s rebounds, which are down anyway. Thoughts?
@in_ertiatic, I don’t think I’d do it. Gasol is just too good and with D’Antoni coming in it’s worthwhile to wait it out. Plus Gasol is top 15 and Dragic is more top 30. Gasol’s FG% will rebound.
@James Redacted, thanks!

@Pavel, this guy is a suns fan so he would like dragic. Here are the best players on his team:
Love/Nowitzki/rubio/rose/wall/milsap/bledsoe
@Pavel, Wow he has the all injury team. I don’t think I’d do your deal. I like Dragic more than Wall (Wall doesn’t make 3’s) and I don’t particularly want two knee injury guys on my team.
@James Redacted, What about if I try to do something for just nowitzki or just wall…? I mean, he didn’t reject hill/monroe for wall/nowitzki. But i’m in 2nd spot right now and my next 2 weeks aren’t against any top teams and this is a 16 team league so if i can improve my team now, it will pay dividends later for sure…Knowin this, does that change your opinion?
@Pavel, If you can trade hill/monroe for those two then that would be fine.
you know i have to say it, but batum (and probably paul george) belong on the same tier as carmelo, josh smith, and rudy gay. Carmelo is finally contributing a little bit defensively to go with his points (hope he keeps it up), and rudy gay is solid (have to hope his shooting improves), but josh smith has been terrible this year and seems to be settling for a bunch of long jumpers, which is certainly not his strength.
I’d also consider moving MKG up a tier or 2. I know he doesn’t score a lot or hit 3s, but his defensive stats certainly play in any size league and his FG/FT %s/reb have been surprisingly good.
@ETMcgee, I have Batum and George in the tier below only because they aren’t as well established as the other guys (meaning i think they are slightly less safe). I’m expecting Smith to bounce back because I think there may be some lingering effects from that ankle injury he suffered. So I’m not panicking on him yet.
MKG – Another week of his current production and I’d move him right behind Leonard.
Isn’t Paul George a Guard?
@Jon, G/F are his listed positions for us fantasy basketballers
@Jon, George is a SF but when Granger was playing he’d slot in at the 2 guard quite a bit.
Does the recent bad news re: Dirkish’s injury change your rank of him at all?
If healthy is Dirk sexier than Pau or are they equally bodacious?
@blairtch, I’d keep Pau over Dirk when healthy, but Dirk would move into that tier (at the back end). Didn’t see the new injury news till after the post but I’d prob knock him down to the next tier. It’s getting more and more worrisome.
