As I mentioned the past couple weeks, every Wednesday I will release tiers for G/F/C in rotating fashion.  Here’s the original tiersupdated Guard tiers, and last week’s Forward tiers.  Starting next week, I’ll split this into a morning and afternoon post (morning for recap and afternoon for tiers) to better explain the movement taking place.  As always, if you disagree with the tiers then go f*ck yourself.  BUT FIRST, the recap of last night’s games:

Nene Hilario – Nope, the Wizards did not play last night but he will return TONIGHT!  We’ll see how much playing time he gets, but he is the most offensively-talented big man on the Wizards’ roster.  If you own Kevin Seraphin, this is probably the time to drop him if you haven’t already.

Kyle Lowry – More good injury news!  Kyle Lowry returned and played 30 minutes off the bench going 13/7/7 (although 5 of 14 from the floor).  He should regain the starting role in Toronto quickly because Canadians hate Spanish people like Jose Calderon.  Or maybe it’s because Lowry is really, really, really good.

Jonas Valanciunas – If you’re a center and want to have a good game, then seeing Kwame Brown in the opposing teams’ starting lineup is like Christmas.  Val went for 11/11/3/0/3 and 5 of 6 from the line in 25 minutes.  One other thing to notice here is that he did not commit any fouls on the court, however he did fart during a timeout.  It’s known as a bench foul.

Thaddeus Young – It was a good day to be young in Philly.  18/7/2/2/2 with shooting 8 for 13 from the floor in 39 minutes.

Nick Young – 23/3/4/0/1 with three 3PM AND going 7-13 from the field.  HOW DID HE GET THOSE ASSISTS?!  HOW!?  FIRE THE SCOREKEEPER!

Raymond Felton – 15 points, all by 3-pointers…and for you non-math whiz’s that would be five-3’s.  Throw in 2 boards and 6 assists and you have yourself a nice little fantasy day.

J.R. Smith – After being in last week’s sell he’s cooled off a touch, but is still putting up great numbers.  Last night he went 15/5/1/2 while shooting 43%.

Ryan Anderson – With Anthony Davis sitting out due to an ankle injury (day to day), Anderson got the start.  15/8/1 with three 3PM.  Let me state on record that just because I put Ryan Anderson ahead of someone like Davis, it does not mean I think he’s a better NBA player.  Only a better fantasy player.  For you stat heads out there… there is a strong, positive association between talent and fantasy ranks but not a direct correlation.

Al-Farouq Aminu – 0 points, 6 boards, 1 assist and a steal (0-4 FG).  I think he caught whatever Mario Chalmers had last week.

Gerald Wallace – 7 points (2-7 FG), 5 boards, 2 assists, FIVE steals, and 3 blocks in 29 minutes.  A great sign after Wallace’s putrid first game back.  Look for the offense to come around as he gets back into the groove.

Brook Lopez – It’s good to see BroLo back and healthy.  Probably a tad too underrated coming into the season, he is putting together a nice year so far averaging 18/6/1/0.5/2.4 while shooting nearly 55% from the field.  Another solid line last night,23/7/3/1 on 11-18 shooting.  Unfortunately, Kris Humphries is such a rebounding hog that Lopez’s rebounding numbers will never be that great (for a Center).

Metta World Peace – I hate this stupid name and I hate having to write it when he has good games like last night.  17 points, 8 boards, 2 steals, and 4 3PM will make any fantasy owner happy.  He came into the season in shape (mentally and physically) and it’s paying dividends on a top heavy roster.

Darius Morris – I’m not going to write the line because it’s garbage.  Did I mention he’s starting at point guard for the Lakers?  I can’t even recommend him.  Steve Nash better come back soon.

    breaking bad or the wire?

    • James Redacted

      James Redacted says:

@blairtch, Breaking Bad pending part 2 of season 5

  2. BringDaRuckus says:

World Peace, Parsons, or Calderon for the ROS? I can keep 2 out of the 3, who would you go with?

    • James Redacted

      James Redacted says:

@BringDaRuckus, Drop Calderon because Lowry is back.

  3. Thinking of trading Calderon for World Peace – you like, or think I could get more? 9 cat, H2H

    PG: Jeremy Lin
    SG: Klay Thompson
    G: Damian Lillard
    SF: Al-Farouq Aminu
    PF: Anthony Davis
    F: Chandler Parsons
    C: DeMarcus Cousins
    C: Javale McGee
    Util: Jose Calderon
    Util: Goran Dragic
    BN: Jordan Crawford
    BN: Byron Mullens
    BN: Kevin Love

    • James Redacted

      James Redacted says:

@reckoner, Seems fair since Calderon is about to go to the bench.

  4. Jeff says:

I know you’re not a doctor but in your opinion, do you think this injury to anthony davis will be recurring? Do you think he’s injury prone or am i just worrying too much.

    • James Redacted

      James Redacted says:

@Jeff, Nah. You’re just worrying too much. It’s called Stephen Curryitis.

  5. Moez says:

do you think we’ll see Jsmith traded soon/ is that why he’s playing so bad, Watching him the last few games, u can see it in his games, he don’t give a shit, Horf looks like the new Asmooth, little of everything.

and is joseCalderon show casing? He must be on the move? im sure teams are calling now..
and is Thompson just sick? flu?? or is he just a one trick pony via 3s? JAckson seesm to a good job a hyping his players

    • James Redacted

      James Redacted says:

@Moez, I’m confident that Smith will rebound. He’s probably dealing with the lingering effects of that ankle injury.

Calderon SHOULD be moved at some point but it probably won’t happen for awhile.

Klay Thompson is not a one trick pony. He’s been sick and I’d look for him to rebound sooner rather than later.

  6. BigMan says:

Just traded Lowry, Kaman and Reddick for LMA, Hibbert and Korver. How’d I do in a 10-team H2H?

Also planning on dropping Korver: Who’s a better pickup – Rubio, Kawhi, Stuckey, Gee or Beal? Thinking I should make the move on Rubio soon in order to get an elite PG set.

    My team (post trade):
    PG: Dragic, Jennings
SG/SF: Batum, Metta, Waiters, Barnes, Korver
PF/C: Lebron, Aldridge, Noah, Hibbert, A. Davis, Nene

    • James Redacted

      James Redacted says:

@BigMan, Value wise I think you came out ahead. However I’m not sure you should trade Lowry when you are obviously trying to win assists every week. Great buy low on Hibbert though and LMA is an early 2nd round talent.

Kawhi is the best pickup out of those guys. Still no word on Rubio and you never know how guys will be coming back from a serious injury like him.

      • BigMan says:

        @James Redacted,

Oooh, Seraphin is also available. What do you think about him over Leonard, and also as a Handcuff to Nene?

        • James Redacted

          James Redacted says:

          @BigMan, Leonard.

  7. Zebo says:

If you had to drop one guy from the following: who would it be?
In other words, which one of these will be least likely useful come fantasy playoff time?
We are in 12 team 9 cat h2h keeper league.

    Brandon Knight
    Tristan Thompson
    Kevin Seraphin

These guys dont play major roles for me. My team is otherwise solid.

    • James Redacted

      James Redacted says:

@Zebo, Seraphin blew up last night but I can’t imagine him being a factor unless Nene goes out again.

  8. Tim S. says:

Hey why you gotta disrespect my boy Nikola Vucevic??? Field goal % rebs and Blocks what more do you want from a center. He is a white man’s Nene, only healthy! You gotta have him above Mullens and I would put him above Bogut, Amire, since its tough to jump without knees. Make this happen three weeks from now on your next Center update.
