There are few things in life that get me hard and excited. Let’s see, all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ, 9-0 h2h victory for fantasy, PornHub, and watching the LeBron/AD pick-and-roll. I have to add James Harden to the list. I try not to write up the same player for the lede, but Harden is a freaking basketball savant and could be one of the best one-on-one players of all time. Beep. Boop. Bop. You know what’s also an all-timer? The Stocktonator. The jumper from downtown is so pure that Skunk Works is reverse engineering it. The handles have caused many of sleepless nights for Ricky Jay. He’s also 6′ 5″ 220 pounds, so he can stampede to the rim against smaller players and big men have no chance on the perimeter, as he just makes them dance. Last night was yet another example of his brilliance:

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
55 3 8 2 2 6 10/18 20/34 5/5

This was Harden’s 22nd career game scoring at least 50 points, which is good for fourth all time. Kobe Bryant had 25 while Michael Jordan had 31. Laughably, Wilt Chamberlain posted 118 50-point games!! LOL. Anyways, Harden is the numero uno player for fantasy on the season. He’s AVERAGING 37.9 minutes, 38.7 points, 4.9 tres, 5.9 boards, 7.5 dimes, 2 steals, and is shooting 88% from the line on 14 attempts! The turnovers are sky-high at 5 per game, but the production is so bountiful in the other categories that it is but a fly on the windshield. Are you not Harden excited?

Here’s what else I saw last night:

Clint Capela

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
10 13 1 1 3 0 0 5/6 0

C & C continues to make us dance. He’s tied for fifth with 16 dub-dubs on the season. Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the league with 22. Capela is a top 25 player for fantasy, as he dub-dubs and provides those juicy defensive stats. The free throw shooting continues to be comical, though.

Russell Westbrook

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
23 7 6 4 0 2 1/4 9/20 4/4

Over the past six games, Russ has been a top 20 player for fantasy. He’s been averaging 2.2 steals and the free throw shooting has been a very robust 88% on 4.5 attempts. The turnovers are still super high and the field goal percentage remains poor, but at least there’s been improvement in the other cats. I don’t see it being the N. W. O., though, so expect top 50-60 production.

Kevin Love

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
17 11 2 1 1 3 0/1 8/14 1/3

Love does hurt, but Love also provides bliss. That’s why we keep going back. He’s a top 70 player for fantasy on the season, and this is the probable outcome of when he gets traded to a contender.

Cedi Osman

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
0 2 7 1 1 1 0/3 0/4 0

Continues to start but only played 19 minutes because….he was not so Osman. Also, this guy caught fire…..

Kevin Porter Jr.

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
24 2 3 3 0 2 6/9 9/15 0

Played 29 minutes off the bench, tied for a season high. Over the past four games, Porter has averaged 25 minutes and been a top 90 player. He gets his 211 on and can provide tres, but the free throw shooting is poor and he doesn’t contribute much in the other cats.

Jordan Clarkson

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
17 4 4 1 1 1 3/9 7/16 0

Also played 29 minutes off the bench. We know who Clarkson is, a points and tres guy. He’s been averaging 22 minutes per game, so I wouldn’t get too excited.

Devonte’ Graham

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
40 5 5 0 0 2 7/12 12/21 9/11

This ain’t your daddy’s graham cracker. This Graham cracker is lathered in honey and has marshmellos sprinkled all over. Top 15 player over the past eight games. He’s averaging 35.1 minutes, not 1…not 2…not 3….not 4…..but 5 tres, 3.9 boards, 7.8 dimes, 0.9 steals, and only 2.1 turnovers! The free throw shooting is excellent at 83% on 4.5 attempts but the field goal percentage isn’t great at 43%. I doubt the heater continues, but he should continue being a nice source of points, tres, and dimes.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
11 7 2 0 1 0 1/3 4/9 2/2

Played 20 minutes off the bench. Jesus Kidd-Gilchrist, he’s back! He’s played 20, 15, and 23 minutes the past three games. Nicolas Batum has been booted from the rotation and Marvin Williams has missed time. He may be in the rotation now, but when Williams returns, could return to the abyss from which he came from.

Dwayne Bacon

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
2 2 1 0 0 0 0/1 0/3 2/2

Played 7 minutes off the bench. Remember when he played 33 minutes opening night and scored 22 points? And Baconators were taking victory laps? Those were good times. Bacon has averaged 12.9 minutes per game over the last 10 games. Why did I even give him a stat box and blurb? I guess my good deed quota has been filled for the year. You reading this, Santa?

Spencer Dinwiddie

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
24 5 6 1 0 2 2/9 8/16 6/9

Dinwiddie has been fantastic in place of Kyrie Irving. Top 40 player. His value will go down once Kyrie and Caris LeVert return, but the drop won’t be too significant. The minutes will obviously go down, but he will still get around 26-28 minutes of run per game and the usage rate (33.6) is actually much, much higher leading the second unit.

Trae Young

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
15 2 13 2 0 7 1/6 4/14 6/7

Shit happens. The shooting comes and goes, but overall, he’s made a massive improvement in that department from last year (46% vs 42%). With that said, the tres and dimes will be there, and for a player of his stature, he boards very well. The turnovers will always be high, but whatever, he’s a playmaker.

Alex Len

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
17 5 3 0 0 0 1/1 7/9 2/4

In 20 minutes off the bench. Over the past six games, Len has been receiving 20 minutes of run per game. Yet, he’s been producing top 45 value. Too inconsistent to trust in standard leagues, but someone to monitor if the minutes tick up.

Zach LaVine

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
35 2 4 1 1 3 7/7 12/16 4/4

In only 25 minutes because the Hawks got destroyed, 136-102. We know who LaVine is. He’s going to provide 3 tres, 4 boards, 4 dimes, and 1 steal per game. The upside comes when he shoots well from the field. Unfortunately, there are way too many games when he shoots 33% from the field. On the season, that number is at 42%.

Coby White

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
19 2 4 1 1 1 0/2 7/13 5/6

In 25 minutes off the bench. A nice, efficient, across-the-board performance from Mr. White. Unfortunately, most of his games are mean, inefficient, and singular in focus.

Denzel Valentine

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
10 3 5 4 2 1 0/3 4/8 2/2

Played 22 minutes off the bench. Valentine has carved out a niche for himself lately. Over the past four games, he’s averaged 18.3 minutes and provided points, tres, and some defensive stats. That’s been good for top 60 production. Do the Bulls know that Valentine’s Day is still a few months away?

Joe Ingles

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
23 5 5 1 0 2 3/6 9/14 2/2

Jingle bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg….Ho, Ho, Ho! Jingles did not pollute the air last night, as he scored a season high and delivered a performance that many were expecting from coming into the season. He’s obviously more comfortable in the starting lineup, but when Mike Conley returns, the merry times will cease to exist.

Rudy Gobert

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT

Donovan Mitchell

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
30 5 6 0 1 2 2/5 13/20 2/2

Dare I say that Mitchell is a souped-out LaVine? The percentages are better, but the rest of the counting stats are similar. DM does grab more boards though.

Jeff Teague

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
32 4 6 1 1 0 4/4 11/16 6/6

Whoa….Where did this come from? Over the past four games, Teague has been a top 20 player! The usage rate has skyrocketed to 25 from 20 and the aggression has been there, as he’s been attempting over 14 shots per game. The dimes have ticked down, but he’s still contributing 5 a game. Now, the efficiency has been off the charts (58%), so expect regression to hit. With that said, Teague will still be a viable fantasy asset.

Kemba Walker

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
44 3 7 2 0 2 7/15 16/28 5/7

A season high for Kemba. Man, lots of season highs last night. Anyways, Kemba is a top 15 player for fantasy on the season. That’s a quiet top 15 performance, as I haven’t written him up many times. Slow and steady wins the race, said the turtle. The great things about Kemba are that the turnovers are low for a player with a 29 usage rate. In addition, he provides 0.5 blocks to go along with everything else he does.

Only played 24 minutes and wasn’t on the court in crunch time. I’m not sure I’d walk 500 Myles anymore. Really, the only thing he’s providing is blocks. Granted, he’s doing that at an elite rate but not much else.

Malcolm Brogdon

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT

It was a family affair as Justin played 32 minutes off the bench, while little bro Aaron received 27 minutes of run. Both Holidays played the fourth quarter and closed the game. Not sure this is the N. W. O., but Jeremy Lamb was bbbbbaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddddd and Myles just sat on the bench. Something to monitor.

Kawhi Leonard

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT

Maurice Harkless

Of course he fouled out. He’s now tied with Wendell Carter Jr. with the most disqualifications at five. I love JJJ’s potential, as he can be an impact at both ends of the floor. Still young and should only get better as time goes on. The breakout should happen next year. As it stands, JJJ will provide points, tres, and defensive stats. The percentages are good for a big man. Unfortunately, the boards are light at 4.8 per game.

Dillon Brooks

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT
27 3 1 2 0 3 1/5 10/18 6/6

A nice 3-and-D player to roster. The minutes are low for a starter (27.5) and the shooting efficiency can be rough (40% on the season), but he does get hot and access ceiling from time to time. MEM also plays at the sixth-fastest offensive pace, so more possessions and opportunites for fantasy goodies.

Brandon Clarke

PTS REB AST STL BLK TOV 3PT FG FT

Chris Paul

Paul truly is/has been a remarkable fantasy asset over the years. Since 2013, he’s finished as the 3rd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 9th, and 21st player. So far this season, he’s the 21st player. Over the past 14 games, he’s the 11th. Truly impressive consistency. The turnovers are low, free throw shooting is elite, he scores, provides tres, boards, dimes, and steals.
