Well we don’t have games for a week. Time to relax a bit, watch a little college ball, and rest right?
Nah.
There’s things to do yet. This is one guy’s to-do list.
My guy Dan Titus on Yahoo wrote this first. I’m gonna shamelessly copy him here.
Divest Yourself of Tanking Team Assets as Much as Possible
- Washington.
- Brooklyn.
- Indiana.
- Utah.
- Sacramento.
All of these teams are out of the playoff picture and are playing for ping pong ball luck. I’m in a league with Jaren Jackson, Jr and Josh Giddey as my main two guys. Doh! Reports from Chicago have Giddey and Tre Jones practicing, dunking, and looking healthy. But yet, they don’t play.
Silly season is upon us as soon as the end of the break. Players on these teams will be frustrating from here on out.
Invest in bench players from these teams.
When the Jazz announced Jackson is done for the season, the first move should have been to check on the availability of Kyle Filipowski.
When someone is “injured,” go to this page, and get the next man up. Minutes mean opportunity.
Stash Power Rankings
- Day’ron Sharpe: As a starter, Sharpe slashes 14/9/5 this year. He will get chances to start, and given the fact that he’s a free agency guy this summer he will play hard and as often as possible.
- Jay Huff: Huff Daddy looks like he’ll get steady minutes since Ivica Zubac probably will sit with an “ankle injury.” I like Huff more than Jarace Walker, but the Pacers disagreed. I like Huff because of the 3/block combination, despite weird minutes fluctuations.
- Devin Carter: He’s a guard on Sacramento. I had to check too. They’re going to give him some extended run while the starters go to, well, somewhere. 19/5/4 as a slash is nice.
- Isaiah Collier: He might be the best player on here, but the most likely to be shut down. But as a starter, in 32 minutes he’s averaging 9.5 assists. That’s legit, but it might be too good for Utah’s tastes.
- Maxime Raynaud: With their cupboard bare of actual guys who help winning, Raynaud is useful again. He’s a lower end guy (11.6 ppg, 8 RB in 34 mpg as a starter) but I like five as a nice round number to use. So, Raynaud gets a holler.
Okay, enjoy the break. If you enjoy the All-Star festivities, just remember that Jared McCain is an actual NBA basketball player, not a TikTok Celebrity. But if he loses that contest? Can you imagine the pressure on that guy? But we’ll see what happens.
Thanks for reading everyone!
