It took 171 games, over two seasons, and 5800 minutes played, but Ben Simmons finally did it. He drained his first tres.
I know you have doubts, but tape don’t lie….
The fact that I’m making Simmons the lede for making a tres is sad, but what’s worse is that it took him 171 games, two seasons, and 5800 minutes! Now, let’s not forget that on this historic and momentous night, Simmons actually played a great overall game:
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | 3PT | FG | FT |

In a whopping 42 minutes! Yes, it was against the Knicks but whatever. Production is production. Beep. Boop. Bop. You know what always provides the production? The Stocktonator. For fantasy, Simmons is such an interesting player because he leads you down the punt one, punt two, punt three category strategy (tres, ft%, and turnovers). But, but, but….he has nightly “mess around” potential and will get his block and steal on. On the season, he’s a top 40 player despite his shortcomings.
Here’s what else I saw last night:

Got the start and played 26 minutes, as Trey Lyles was banished to the bench. Poeltl can provide boards, blocks, and excellent field goal percentage. The free throw shooting is atrocious, though. Keep an eye on how Pop decides to utilize the big man going forward, as he could be a cheap source of blocks if he gets consistent run.

Spurs lost to the Wizards, 132-138. LMAO! Over the last three games, LMA has increased the collecting of boards to over nine per game. He had been sitting in the six range for most of the season. He’s also been blocking over two shots per game. As a result, he’s been a top 20 player for fantasy. Do I have to revise the LMAO to LMAD? LMAB?

As I always write, Forbes is money!!! I rarely write up all five starters from a game, but that’s what happens when a team scores 132 points. For fantasy, Forbes is primarily a tres specialist, but the most important thing to take away is that the Wizards suck and should provide fantasy manna for opposing teams. They are #6 in offensive pace and dead last in defensive efficiency.

With that said, he’s been good all season long, averaging 12.5 points, 2.1 tres, and 4.2 boards. He’s top 10 in tres made per game! Now, he won’t provide much else, so keep that in mind.

Maybe I have to revisit this whole Morris as the alpha thing. Maybe Morris is the NBA’s Cujo. Did he get bit and is now playing like a freaking mad man? Anyways, I apologize for that tangent. Freaking Morris is putting me on tilt now. As for Embiid, what’s there to say? He’s amazing. Really the only question that needs to be asked is, “Who is going to sex him that night?”

I’d say the upgrade from Joe Ingles to Bojan Bogdanovic is paying dividends for the Jazz. Has the solar system been aligned a certain way lately, because the Bogdanovic’s are all playing out of their minds. Anyways, BojBog is shooting a ridiculous 43.6% from downtown while contributing 2.8 tres per game. The free throw shooting is excellent as well, but the contributions outside of boards are minimal. A career game for this big game Hunter. Naw, he’s usually more like the spotter but everyone has their day in the sun, I guess. Maybe the light has flipped on, but more than likely, this was an outlier game. Hunter provides tres and boards. He’s a good defender in real life, but not so much for fantasy.
