If you remember Young Joc, you lived through the downfall of hip-hop. OK, no one can really pinpoint when Rap music really started to go downhill, but there was a time when Young Joc captivated the minds and ears of 13-year-old children everywhere. Similarly, last night Jamal Murray captivated the minds of NBA fans by going 9-46-6-8-0-1-5 on 16-of-24 shooting and 5-of-6 FTs. It’s been a bit of a down year for Jamal, but he had 31 on Friday and 77 points in two games is going to help your team a lot, especially with 13 three-pointers. He’s been kind of a disappointment on the year, but could end up having a solid season.
Here’s what else went down in the NBA last night:
Nikola Jokic- 23-8-9-3-1-4. On 8-of-11 shooting and 7-of-8 FTs. Nearly got the triple-double, but this is light work for the Joker.
TJ Warren– 3-22-3-3-5-1-3 on 9-of-18 shooting and 1-of-2 FTs. The Regulator got his steal on last night. He’s usually more of just points and nice percentages, so the steals are a welcome surprise.
Mikal Bridges– 5-17-2-3-1-1-2 on 5-of-8 shooting and made 2-of-2 FTs. I think I may have told you to hold/add him, but only my true fans will remember.
Giannis Antetokounmpo– 2-31-10-10-2-3-4 on 13-of-17 shooting and 3-for-5 from the stripe. Big G got the trip-dub and he’s crept his way back into the top 10 for fantasy.
Khris Middleton– 4-29-4-7-1-0-0 on 11-of-15 shooting and 3-for-3 FTs. I was listening to this game on the radio and they play “Warm it Up” by Kris Kross when he makes a bucket. Props to Milwaukee for being awesome.
Brook Lopez– 7-24-2-0-1-1-0 on 8-of-17 shooting and made his lone free throw. Look out B. Lo! Lopez has been dropping bombs from downtown and is making 2.4 3’s per game along with 1.9 blocks. That’s stud-level for fantasy. Also, his teammates have given him the nickname “Splash Mountain,” which is awesome.
Rodions Kurucs– 2-1-2-0-0-3 on 0-of-5 shooting and 2-for-2 FTs in 22 minutes. The 20-year old Latvian has flashed a lot of potential, but has two duds in a row. It’s probably safe to move on if there’s a hot FA, but I think he’ll bounce back next time out.
Kenneth Faried– 21-10-0-0-1-1 on 8-of-14 shooting and 5-of-7 from the line in 27 minutes off the bench. A Manimal sighting? Weird night for the Nets. They were coming off a road game with the Hornets and this was their third game in four days, so Atkinson let the bench run wild.
Shabazz Napier– 4-32-4-7-1-0-1 on 9-of-15 shooting and 10-of-12 FTs. Came off the bench and played 33 minutes. Atkinson will not hesitate to go with the hot hand and stayed true to that last night.
Kemba Walker– 6-47-4-4-1-1-1 on 18-of-29 shooting and 5-of-8 from the line. That’s the Blue Label right there. He can almost always be the lede, but I can’t keep giving it to the same guys.
Marvin Williams– 3-17-7-3-1-1-1 on 7-of-14 shooting. Marvin Gardens is paying off for you if you held on to him.
Thomas Bryant– 21-10-3-0-1-0 on 9-of-13 shooting and 3-for-3 FTs. Started and played 33 minutes. He should be added at this point if he hasn’t been already.
Tomas Satoransky– 4-20-4-6-0-0-1 on 6-of-11 shooting and 4-of-6 from the line. Thomas and Tomas got it done for the Wizards last night. Wall is going to miss a significant amount of time, so add away.
Bradley Beal– 1-19-4-5-6-0-3 on 7-of-19 shooting and 4-of-5 FTs. The steals are what added the extra cheese to the Beal Part, but did you know he’s averaging 0.9 Blocks per game as well? I didn’t until I just looked it up.
James Harden– 7-41-9-6-3-2-7 on 10-of-25 shooting and a stellar 14-of-14 from the line. The rainbow line has me Hardening! Crude humor!
Eric Gordon– 2-21-2-3-1-0-3 on 9-of-14 shooting and 1-of-2 FTs. With CP3 out, the other Rockets had to step it up.
Jrue Holiday– 1-20-6-9-1-1-4 on 9-of-20 shooting and made his only FT. He has surpassed Chris Paul in the PG rankings. Let it be known.
Larry Nance Jr.- 18-15-7-4-1-0 on 7-of 8 shooting and 4-for-4 from the line. Nance in Your Pants may have finally been unleashed. He’s actually a steal master disguised in a canter’s body. He has 11 over his last four games and is averaging 1.5 on the year. Expect that number to rise if he can sustain his minutes. It’s always nice to see a guy that really hustles.
Cedi Osman– 2-22-8-3-0-0-3 on 8-of-12 shooting and 4-for-6 FTs. Return of the Cedi! Don’t add unlesss you hate yourself.
Alec Burks– 1-17-5-5-2-0-2 on 7-of-14 shooting and made both FTs. If only the Cavs had a player with the last name Caicos. I could give you my stellar Burks and Caicos reference, but alas…
Trae Young– 2-21-3-9-1-0-3 on 8-of-16 shooting and 3-of-4 FTs. Trae-bay-bay! Nearly got the dime bag, but the FG% is what really makes his owners happy.
John Collins– 14-12-2-0-0-1 on 6-of-13 shooting and 2-for-3 FTs. C’mon with the blocks JC! Only one over his last six games. Do more!
Kyrie Irving– 2-26-4-13-1-0-4 on 8-of-16 shooting and 8-of-8 FTs. 11 and 13 assists in his last two games. It seems he’s developing into more of a passer, and the list of guys I should have taken over CP grows longer by the minute.
Marcus Smart– 1-8-1-1-4-0-1 on 3-of-7 shooting and made his only FT. Wicked.
Marc Gasol– 1-15-3-10-2-1-6 on 6-11 shooting and made 2-of-2 FTs. He was on the Marc and also brought the dime bag. Too many turnovers though. Do less!
Luke Kornet– 4-14-6-5-1-0-2 on 5-of-11 shooting. The Freak on a Leash has had back-to-back nice games. It may be time to add. Who knows if the minutes keep up, but with Kanter being the malcontent that he is, it’s likely Kornet sustains some level of value.
Noah Vonleh– 2-13-9-0-3-0-1 on 3-of-5 shooting and 5-of-6 FTs. He’s looking like a nice add. Hopefully you pulled the trigger after he was dropped like five times.
Rudy Gobert– 25-16-0-0-1-1 on 10-of-12 shooting and 5-of-6 FTs. If this game was close, he probably could have went 30-30.
Dante Exum– 13-0-13-0-0-1 on 6-of-11 shooting and made his only FT. Ricky Rubio was out so Exum got the start. The assist were a career-high. You can add if you want, but it’s probably short-term.
Klay Thompson– 4-32-4-1-1-0-0 on 12-of-21shooting and 4-for-4 from the line. The Warriors let Klay have a nice night. It’s like that for them.
Damian Lillard– 6-40-2-5-1-0-3 on 14-of-23 shooting and 6-of-7 FTs. The Omen delivers again. Does he ever not?
Maurice Harkless– 7-9-1-3-2-0 on 3-of-8 shooting and 1-of-2 FTs. He does a bit of everything and could be an add if you have something to lose.
LaMarcus Aldridge– 38-7-2-0-2-2 on 14-of-23 shooting and 10-of-12 FTs. He’s really coming on of late and, coincidentally, the Spurs have been winning more.
DeMar DeRozan– 25-13-6-4-1-3 on 9-of-19 shooting and 7-of-7 FTs. “Just remember to be yourself” whispered Popovic in DeMar’s ear.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander– 1-5-2-1-0-0-1 on 2-of-3 shooting. Shai-Guy was extra shy again. He’s becoming a headache to me, but he’s stilll a hold for the upside.
Montrezl Harrell-21-5-1-4-0-4 on 8-of-13 shooting and 5-of-8 FTs. Clippers got blown out, but Montrezl still got his. For ‘trezl! I’ve always wanted to say that.
