With the top 100 lists for both rotisserie and head-to-head leagues in the vault, along with the rotisserie top 200, we’ve finished the Lavergne, the Shirley and the Lenny of fantasy basketball lists. Time to get Squiggy with it! There’s something so raw about H2H, like frozen fish wrapped in newspaper. Know thy enemy, match up with him and watch the week burn into flames. There’s more room for mistakes with H2H, yet a greater necessity to tinker week after week, customizing your squad to whomever you’re matched up with in a given week. Smell their breath, catch their sweat. It’s H2H, snitches!

You’ve been to the dentist before, so you know the drill. Every team is different. Use you noodle (in addition to this list) on draft day and no matter how deep your league is, don’t even think about touching Kwame Brown. Time to rock the 2010 head-to-head fantasy basketball top 200:

    Adam,

Rather than critique/disagree with you on any of these rankings, I just want to express my deep gratitude. Thanks for picking up the hoops mantle and running with it. You rock!

@Giggles McGehee: That’s nice of you to say. Also, feel free to critique/disagree all you’d like. I won’t take it personally. I might weep uncontrollably before responding, but take it personally? Never.

Am I missing something, or is Tiago Splitter not a top 200 player?

@Midget: He absolutely should be. No. 105.

  5. Sweet, I’m gonna rock the tits off my draft this Sunday.

  6. Hey Adam,
I was just wondering how you come up w/ this ranking. Is it mathematical? How do you differentiate quantitatively between H2H and roto?
    Enjoy your blog,
    Frank

@Frank Kim: Thanks Frank. It’s a strange brew of math and hunches. After making player projections for about 250 players, I convert each category into a range (a player who averages 10 rbds a game will receive a 9 because he’s in the upper echelon of rebounders, but not the top echelon). I do that for each category and add each players total over nine categories. Then I order them according to those totals. After that I shift them around a bit according to hunches or unquantifiable things about those players (gets hurt a lot, role on team has shifted, etc.)

With H2H, I knock off the player’s worst category and repeat the same process.

It’s far from an exact science as one learns quickly when one starts writing a daily fantasy baskeball blog.

  8. Thanks Adam. That sounds reasonable. It’s always interesting to see how different rankings are between H2H and rotisserie.

@Frank Kim: No problem. In about 90 minutes, I’ll be publishing an updated H2H 200. It’s been too long and the one above is horribly out-of-date.

Just another thing I’m learning. Next year, I’m going to wait a bit longer before I publish Top 200 lists.

  10. Cool. Looking forward to the updated H2H 200.

By the way, is there a way to download your projections?

  11. Adam

    Adam says:
    (link)

@Frank Kim: Not this time around. Next year, everything will be downloadable spreadsheets.

  12. Thanks. I guess I can just try parsing it. If I do that do you want me to put it in a spreadsheet that you and others can access?

  13. Adam

@Frank Kim: If you’ve got the time, that’d be awesome!

@Frank Kim: Outstanding, my man! I’ll add this to the updated H2H post right away. Thanks a ton!

  15. Hey Adam,
Can I email you the original Excel spreadsheet that I used to make the Google spreadsheet of your Razzball projections?
