You wanna know who could use some Suns is the East Coast over here!  Let’s hope this weather doesn’t cost us some reschedules tonight!

Sure, sure, sure, the Suns are a mess mainly due to injuries, and of course got slaughtered by the Spurs last night.  Nothing surprising there.  But the Suns still deserve some slappage in a wake-up call – Brandon Knight (out last night with a groin strain) and Eric Bledsoe had rumors they didn’t like playing alongside one another, Tyson Chandler got an awful contract based on his returns thus far and Alex Len is a capable starter, and of course the whole Markieff Morris thing.  Marcus Morris might be the best player on this team right now!  As they continue to implode into a black hole (science metaphor!), it will create more and more opportunities for youth.  Devin Booker has been a lot better than I thought as a starting 2, going 24/1/5 with 2 treys and 6-7 shooting last night.  Archie Goodwin, a guy I loved going into his rookie year, had a full 20/3/2/1/1 line.  And you can’t really keep a guy in the doghouse when you have 6 injured players, so T.J. Warren was back in the fold for 18 Pts.  On top of investing in their youth ROS, the Suns have become the Sixers of the West for opposing rotations – no Spur regular played over 22:12 and Pop sat a lot of his guys…  And they still won by 28!  So keep an eye on the Suns if you’re streaming – play some of the key reserves against them and maybe on full schedule nights, you bench your backend starters as they are likely to get less run.  Here’s what else went down last night in fantasy hoops action:

Brandon Jennings – Because of course the 23-19 Pistons would be blown out by the, I dunno, 2-190930390 Pelicans and give BJ some extra garbage-time run for 20/1/5.  All happened because I go against him in the REL as injuries start crippling me.  Wahhhhhh, I feel like Jarrett Jack!

Andre Drummond Near Goromotaro going 19/22/1/4/0, and only missed 2 FT this time!  3-5!!!!  What does he win, Bob?!

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope With Reggie Jackson struggling last night, KCP was clearly the #1 offensive option.  While being the #1 defender…  God I love KCP (as I’m typing this I’m brushing my teeth with my finger).

Norris Cole – Wow, better than I thought…  Moved into the starting 5 with the Eric Gordon injury (broken/surgically repaired finger), and Cole put up 12/8/7/0/0 on the flat top.  No treys either.  While I could see the Cole clamor, Jrue Holiday played only 22:29, his lowest run since December 23.  Didn’t need Jrue in the blowout!  Not going crazy for Cole yet.

Tyreke Evans 22/4/10/2/0 with a couple of treys and a %-boosting 8-14 FG and 4-4 FT.  There’s been a lot of speculation around a shutdown and Gentry said he didn’t want Evans playing through injuries, but I think you hope for a few more shimmering lines like this and let those news stories blow over before selling high.

Anthony Davis Brow continues to kill it, until he kills you with an injury.  32/7/2/1/2 and you’re just rolling with the good times as best you can!  Hoping this doesn’t end up like The Wolf of Wall St.  Getting so used to an excess of stats that when it comes crumbling down you come short of an Oscar!  Leo’s getting it this year though!

Chris Paul Dammit Matty!  Nice call on the 30-pt challenge as CP30 went for 30/3/9/3/0.  The rest of the Clippers were so friggin’ boring.  No one had over 1 steal or 1 block, J.J. Redick was your next highest scorer with a hugggggggge 17/2/0/0/0 line, and DeAndre Jordan went 10/13 with no blocks and your typical 6-15 FT.  I woulda rather watched the Lakers last night!

LeBron James – Whoa, for the love of A:TO!  22/5/12 with nary a TO.  Nary a steal or block either, but the first time without multi-TO since Jan 2 where he also kept a clean sheet.  Cavs fans don’t have clean sheets right now, the way this team is playing!

Kevin Love 18/16 with 3 treys, although had 5 TO.  LeBron owners are like, ” yes, take the TO from LeBron, you can have em!”

J.R. Smith 8-12 shooting including 6-7 treys.  Nice to see him break out of his mini-slump there.  Guy who is a little up and down, low TO, and hits threes…?  ThrAGNOF!

Marc Gasol Is a spicy salsa out there lately!  27/4/6/1/3, including 3 Pts the old fashioned way to put the Grizz up with 12 second left in a 1-point win.  Both the Gasol brothers are absolutely killing it right now.  They both were great as younguns, but continue to mature with age, like a nice Spanish Tempranillo wine.  I had to Google that, I don’t know shit about wine!  Crown & Coke me, but hold the Coke!

Mike Conley Wow, back to back games with no TO.  And it’s actually 3 straight, with a little sore Achilles break for a few weeks in there…  20/3/2/1/0, nice to see 8-10 FT, but the STL remain low and he only played 27 minutes.  Still worried about the tread on his tires.

Matt Barnes – Didn’t hit his shot (3-10 FG 1-7 3PTM), but nice to see the multi-cat we had grown accustomed to, going 7/7/5/3/1 and playing 36 minutes.  He probably needs to get scooped back up in 10 or 12 team fantasy leagues, unless you’re in Derek Fisher’s friends & family league.  I could see passing there.

Nikola Jokic Ya know, I’m about to make the Nuggets my punching bag instead of the Pelicans.  I only watched a few minutes of this game, and look at these two highlights!!!!!!!!!!

Ain’t no Jokic, amiright Mr. Green Beans!?  And how does Mike Malone reward him for those highlight-reel plays?!  Gives him only 14 minutes of PT…  THERE’S THE MOTHER F JOKIC!  9/2/2/2/0, 5-5 FT, no TO, and gets out-minutesed by Joffrey Lauvergne, who fouled out in 28 minutes.  Man, I really like the glimpses I’ve seen of Jokic, but I love Jusuf Nurkic more and while Slim thinks they can play PF & C ala a twin towers next to each other, I dunno if Jokic can play against a lot of 4s.  But talent will win opportunities, so Mr. Green Beans, look out for some REL Jokic offers coming your way!  (at least I’m honest with my intentions!)

Emmanuel Mudiay 33 minutes, and really the most important stat is only 1 TO.  14/3/8/0/0, hits two treys, but man he has to figure out the stripe.  0-2 FT.  At least there’s reasons to be excited for his future.

Paul Millsap Multi-cat deity!  Although the biggest Jokic of last night might be the Hawks lowing to the Kings…  Anyway, wasn’t Trillsap’s fault, going 14/14/3/5/4.  Gimme one more dime for the double rainbow!  5 TO does give a little skidmark on the otherwise awesome speedo though…

Jeff Teague Wow.  WOOOOOWWWWWW.  Benched down the stretch, and didn’t even get to 20 minutes.  4/2/4/1/1 with 3 TO, shooting 2-8.  Instead it was a heavy dose of the German, with Dennis Schroder going 12/3/4/1/0, but all-in-all wasn’t much better with 6 TO on 5-12 shooting.  Yikes, 8:9 AST:TO ratio from your main PG minutes.  Rough night.

DeMarcus Cousins Lights up every category, even ones you don’t want him to!  24/15/5/3/2, but 6 TO and had 6 shots blocked.  Can’t stop the Trillsap defense!

Rajon Rondo Uggghhhhh, it’s just a thing now that Rondo is good again, I must accept.  First step is acceptance and I guess the second step is…  be sure you’re punting some stats?  Tripdubbed for 11/10/11, but 6 TO and on 5-16 shooting.  Sheesh, was he trying to prove to Coach Butthole that there actually ARE worse shooting PG in the league than his sad two guys last night?!  How about you pass up a few more of those shots, Rajon!  You’re not Raj-on you’re Raj-off!

Willie Cauley-Stein Dubdubbed with some nice run as a starter going 12/11/0/2/0.  5-8 FG and made both his freebies.  He’s creeping on ownability in 12ers again with the run and ability for out-of-position steals.

Boban Marjanovic Everyone’s favorite Orc Orcked out on the Suns last night!  17/13/0/1/0, and he’s great against second units with his 7’3 300 pounds out there!  Hit 6-10 FG and 5-6 FT.  And even though he’s like a 12 year-old playing against the U6 kids at the Y due to some egregious clerical error, he’s not afraid to stare you down after a dunk!

Tyson Chandler I ragged on him a little in the open there, but did get 20 REB.  Hey, when everyone else is hurt, the ball has to land to someone

I hope everyone in the Northeast and Middle East are braced for this storm today!  Stay warm, hopefully you’re working from home, and start pre-gaming for a big night of NBA action!  Lordy my REL team is getting murdered, damn your gigantic hips Hassan Whiteside!  Have a great weekend Razzball Nation, and catch you on Monday!

Damn Gasol missing 30 by 3 points, he should have missed the free throw so it went to overtime! Norris Cole getting 8 rebounds and 7 assists might be the most shocking line of the year…

@Viz: So close! Yeah Cole was a surprise, but he got a lot of run and as I mentioned, so little Jrue… Hah well he had some decent boarding games when Reke got hurt I think it was… But he’s so blah

    hey

do you think sullinger is droppable in shallow leagues? hes been killing me

    thanks bud!

    • JB Gilpin

@sliimbo: Sure, obviously depends on for who (or is it whom?!) but he’s not consistent enough to be a must hold say in 10ers

        @JB Gilpin:

hey, sry guess i should have included who is available haha

        9 cat
Mason Plumlee, Marvin Williams, Deng, Cj Miles, Barnes, Marjanovic, Len, Cole

was thinking about taking a chance on norris cole…thoughts?

        thx again for everything

    Hey JB. How’s it going?

Made some moves on my team… Traded AD (too injury prone and scared of a shut down) got Vucevic and some pieces… And just traded Vucevic for Thad Young + KCP. What do you think I should do from how my team stands?

    Team looks like:
    10 Man H2H 9 Cat (Punting FT + Assist)

    C.J. McCollum
    George Hill
    Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
    Kent Bazemore
    Klay Thompson
    Khris Middleton
    Thaddeus Young
    Jae Crowder
    Nerlens Noel
    Dwight Howard
    Andre Drummond
    Rudy Gobert
    DeAndre Jordan

@Chinzy: Good man, how you doin? Hmmmm, I’m concerned with Brow too but I dunno if I coulda taken that low a discount… I think you have wayyyyyy too many bigs/reb. I imagine your scoring is a little low too. I might look to trade one for a high-scoring G, like maybe Wiggins

  4. kb says:

    hey great write up

how do you like these guards for tomorrow (I can start 2 or 3 of them) if the important cats are points, assists, FT%, FG%, TO

    RJax (@DEN)
    Wiggins (MEM)
    Conley (@MIN)
    Clarkson (@POR) 2nd game b2b
G Hill (@SAC) expected to return for this game
Ish (BOS) <— was supposed to go to this game, can't make it down because of weather, wahhhh I'm Jarrett Jack

    thanks!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@dom: Thanks man! Hahahaha awesome Jarrett Jack usage! I like Conley and Hill for the %s and low TO. So tough to bench Ish, but he can really hurt FG% and TO, I’d stick with Rjax with those 2

      • dom says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: an owner hit me up for my Myles Turner. should I consider selling high? I Have good bigs depth he has Ish Smith and a couple other interesting guys… Turner starting point could add to ath

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@dom: Definitely considering selling high, I dunno about for Ish though given you have nice G depth and I dunno if I’d wanna add TO

          • dom says:
            (link)

@JB Gilpin: actually different league, this is a deep 12er 10 cat (OREB). I win REB and OREB and loose FT% every week (ayyy Drummo) and am average to above average in the other cats. I think I have better bigs depth than guard/wings but what do you think? my roster is

            RJax
            Clarkson
            Lillard
            Wiggins
            G Hayward
            TJ Warren
            Marv Williams
            StanJo (possible a streaming spot)
            Aaron Gordon
            T Lyles (possible streaming spot)
            Terrence Jones
            Olynyk
            Capela
            Gobert
            Drummond
            S Adams
            M Turner
            Al Jefferson (IR)

with an eye towards to playoffs as I currently the #1 seed, should I be interested in targeting any of his guys in a deal? Ariza, Ish, IT2/3, Crabbe, Batum, Faried, Ed Davis, Zaza, DeAndre….

            • dom says:
              (link)

@dom: Also should I drop Lyles (3 games next week) for Derrick Williams (4)? Williams went 19/14/4 last night with bad %s. Thanks

              • JB Gilpin

                JB Gilpin says:
                (link)

@dom: Ohhhhhh yeah looking at that roster I would indeed take Ish. Of those, really only IT2/3 and Ariza I would be gunning hard for, maybe DeAndre if you wanted to fully punt FT. Sure, yeah I’ll take D-Will, has some nice matchups

  6. Melon says:
    (link)

Looking to add WCS, do i drop Cody Zeller (banged up mintues decreasing) or Sullinger (Stevens rotations)… I could also drop both and grab Cole, Len, Nene….. advice? My build is predominantly centered around winning AST/3s/FTM/Pts/StL while being competitive in the others 9 cat H2H

    • Melon says:
      (link)

      @Melon: Oops i meant FT%, 12 team

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Melon: Hmmm, well WCS will hurt Ft% at times, will help some added STL and boost REB. I think I would have to hold Sullinger still though, I don’t trust Len’s role or Cole’s production. I’d be fine losing C Zeller if needing some production now, long term I think I’d still take Zeller ROS over WCS

  9. Melo says:
    (link)

    Hey JB

Is Brandon Knight a shut down candidate? I’m afraid of some stupid injury and that they’ll just blow it all apart like the friggin sixers and just let Archie Goodwin run the show. They are not winning with Knight, but they could lose some more without him, can’t risk it in the tanking job!

I’ll try the market and sniff with players like Kemba, Conley or Thomas.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Melo: Yeah anyone on the Suns is a shut down candidate now, they’re so dreadful. Highly doubt you’ll get those guys, but I would nab any of the 3 straight up, Kemba and IT2 would be steals

      • Melo says:

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@TheJohn: @Bye Felica: Fairly lopsided, Durant is the one to own. Def taking Lillard, and I dunno, I might Dipo but close, I’m worried about CJ holding up post ASB

  12. Ryan says:
    (link)

The thing that impresses me about Booker is that he can make 2-3 treys a game and still shoot around 50% from the field. Who else can do that on a consistent basis besides Curry? Not saying he is similar to him in ANY other way, I’m jus saying his stroke is sweeeet.

Anyways, your Rondo blurb made me remember an interesting piece that I read about Rondo’s shooting woes. http://bballbreakdown.com/2015/03/the-book-on-rajon-rondos-rock-bottom-free-throw-shooting/

It definitely seems like a psychological issue. He has gotten so much worse over the years and always shoots much better on his second attempt??? (like over 30% better during one season) I’m not sure what the sample size is on that, but its definitely an odd statistic nonetheless.

Kinda makes me think that he could just flip a switch one day and become a 70% FT shooter all of a sudden. But hey, if you have him, you should still be punting TO and FT at the moment. Thankfully, I don’t. I have my own punt TO guy, Westy!

    • Bye Felica says:
      (link)

@Ryan: screw Rondo, he’s dead to me! Lol

      • Ryan says:
        (link)

Same! I’m never rostering him, but I still find his antics fkin hilarious. I just saw a video where he pump faked at the FT line? Like WTF??

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Bye Felica: @Ryan: Don’t forget Kawhi! Crazy good %s from him too! but yeah as a non-elite, Booker is doing well there.

Hmmmm, interesting piece on Rondo. I just think he lacks confidence in the game, apparently he can bury jumpers all day in shootarounds.

Hahaha Ft pump fake! Maybe they need to be sure he gets the FT off in 10 seconds like how Mailman took so long…

  13. Bye Felica says:
    (link)

That $35 bid on Myles Turner in REL is going to haunt some of you guys for years. 🙉😧

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Bye Felica: Nah, he’s gonna be a keeper a while, but it’s not a “haunting” contract. Who I’m playing this week, High as Greg Kite, has some haunting contracts. I’m really worried about that team

  14. Bye Felica says:
    (link)

Capela, Gibson, WCS, or Aaron Gordon.

Who would you want. I own Gibson currently but was considering adding Capela until i saw Houston added the corpse of J Smooveee! (WTF) btw

    • Ryan says:
      (link)

I added Capela in a 12er hoping that the Howard ankle sprain was serious. Then that trade happens. I’m thinking Smoove gets minimal minutes (and doesn’t affect Capela’s C minutes), but still, can’t Houston make a trade that would make their front court less crowded?

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Bye Felica: @Ryan: Yeah Capela is better as a C, so I think it’s just added backup PF/C minutes, not too worried on the impact on Capela, especially short term. Tjones is the annoying one though… ROS I’d likely have to stick with Gibson, but they’re all so close it’s a stream spot to me

  15. Dorian S. says:
    (link)

Man after watching Boban play from what you guys have shown, I definitely need to jump on this guy in my leagues (because my teams suck). Thanks guys!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Dorian S.: Hah well when he gets minutes v. second units in Spurs blowouts, he puts up stats, but he’s barely in the rotation in close games. So it’ll be up and down. Wouldn’t be surprised to see another good one tonight v Lakers though!

  16. Tony C says:
    (link)

Hey JB was wondering if you thought picking up WCS and dropping Nurkic was a good idea? I have Myles and Sully too but it sounds like you like them better than WCS. L10 team H2H 9 cat league.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Tony C: Sure, yeah I would. Nurk has more upside but is gonna take a longggggg time if ever to get the same mins

  17. A Hill O'Beans says:
    (link)

Ahhh I still remember the mocking I got for paying $12 for Jokic in the REL draft earlier this year. Good times!

Seriously though, he’s already well on his way to being an elite passing big man isn’t he? Kid has the tools. That behind the back to Faried under the bucket! 9 assists the other day! And he just looks so smooth. Gotta love the steal at the three point line, then behind the back dribble and coast to coast dunk. Nice!

How does he ge rewarded? Like you said 14 minutes and absolutely none down the stretch. Did he even play in the 4th? I don’t think he did. It’s like Brian Shaw is back in Denver, remember those rotations? Okay it’s not that bad, haha.

    #FreeJokic

Hey man great write up as usual,

    10 man ESPN 8-category H2H

Current: Kemba, Isaiah, Klay, Millsap, Brow, DeAndre, Bazemore, Reggie J, Gallinari, Ish, Rondo, Matthews, H Barnes, Covington, and Payton (still in my I/Remember spot)

Who would you recommend dropping to add Payton back, if any?

I’m not very deep at the F/C position so I’m a little concerned about the possibility of losing 1 of them to injury and not being able to recover …do you have any suggestions on a player(s) to target or guys on my team to move?

I’ve been at the top of the standings most of the season but there’s 2 other teams only a couple games out. Would you be looking to add another big or two either thru trade and/or waiver add to improve at Reb & Blk? Or continue with my guard heavy strategy since I usually take Ast, Stl, 3PM and Pts?

Sorry if this is kinda confusing but any advice for ROS strategy or acquisitions would be greatly appreciated!

Here’s a few of the free agents available:
Myles Turner, Avery Bradley, Casspi, Ilyasova, Gibson, Dieng, Sullinger, Booker, TJones, Zeller, Mahinmi, Olynyk, Jokic, Nurkic, Plumlee

    Thanks for the help!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@PaiGOINHARDnt: Gotta get Myles Turner! Man a lot of good players avail, I’d lose Barnes and Covington for Ily and Turner for big man depth, but would hold Payton.

You have nice PG with pretty good TO rates minus Rondo mainly, I’d look to move him, maybe for a low TO wing.

      Hope that helps!

@eric: With needing some production now, I think you can lose Jusuf and StanJo. I wanna say Zeller and Mahinmi are good fill ins, but they’re hurt too! I think I’d def get Zeller and hope it’s not that bad, then stream some bigs. Hope to help man!

    JB,

I ended up dealing Boogie and IT2 for Brow and Pau Gasol. Thoughts? I was guard-heavy and needed another quality big…

his DeRozen for my Crowder and Ariza. I hate giving up steals and threes but could use a boost in scoring. Kinda surprised he sent it. Wire is thin so my probable backfill on the open slot would be For streaming in 12 team, h2h, 9 cat league.
Currently in second place gaining ground in each of the past 7 weeks so hard to break up the band. Thoughts?

My team: Gortat, Hassan, DeAndre, Taj
    Butler, Ariza, Crowder, Aminu,
Wall, Payton, Paul, Mudiay, Cole, Colly

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Johnc: Nahhhh I wouldn’t do that one, Crowder has been soooooo good. Not like Crowder is scoring a ton less than DeRozan either. Keep the band together!

        @JB Gilpin: [email protected]JB Gilpin: @JB Gilpin:

Nice! Crowder seems to be Stevens “college type” guy. Gonna counter with Ariza and one of my poor shooting point guards. Don’t trust Mudiay, Colly or Cole anywy. Thanks again.

          JB Gilpin says:

            @JB Gilpin:
Couldn’t sell it. League is fairly trade adverse.
So now I go against the first and third place teams next two weeks. These could determine the bye weeks in our 12 teamer so thinking I need to open a streamer spot. Candidates this week to drop include Aminu, Cole, Collison (what happened to him lately?). Colly has a better schedule. I imagine an argument to drop Gibson could be made given my strength in boards and blocks. Side note: I have MKG on IR …. Unsure of his ROS value but they talk like he is their starter post All Star break. Appreciate the help!!

              (link)

@Johnc: Boooooo. Damn, yeah tough stretch. I wouldn’t be married to Cole, but worth seeing what happens. I’m honestly good streaming all 3 of those spots if the situation calls for it, I’m a heavy streamer in all my 12ers. Ummm, that sounds early for MKG, but after one or two games of easing in I do bet he starts… Probably cuts Hairston out of the rotation honestly

Great advice. Cole’s first game as starter probably an anomaly. Seeing Douglas get 24 minutes last night was another indicator. Thanks again

    hey JB. MYLESSS F***ING TURNER!!!!!!!

I’m holding onto Mirza Teletovic as i’m badly in need of SF/PFs and 3s. you didn’t talk about him in the opening segment about the Suns.

What do you think of holding Teletovic going forward?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@patrickindo: Hah pretty sure that’s his birth middle name! Saving my RCL season, having him on all 4 teams… Well, he hasn’t been a bad Suns decision, so didn’t fit the theme 🙂 I think they might try to trade him, in 12ers he can probably be cut

  23. Threekola says:
    (link)

Would you trade Klay and Val to get Middleton and Ibaka?

I like Middleton for his assists, plus I don’t know what’s going on with Klay’s defensive stats this year, so I don’t mind the downgrade….if it even is a downgrade.

However, Ibaka has just been plain out bad this season and I’m not really expecting a revival. 3 rebounds today…THREE. He has sooo many quiet games until he finally gets a 18/9/1/0/4 line or something but then it’s back to his disappearance act. Val got 13 boards today and he’s blocking more shots than Serge over the last two weeks, at 1.8 to Ibaka’s 1.6. Last month, Serge is only 0.3 blocks ahead per game. I know I’m comparing Serge to Val hear, but these are the numbers. Val has him in FG%, rebounds, a little assists, same steals, same TO. Ibaka really only has him in threes and blocks. I guess what I’m saying here is I realllly don’t like Serge for his price.

ANYWAYYYYY enough rambling, would you make that trade?

    THANKSSSS

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Threekola: Yup I would! Middleton is getting fairly close to Klay in value already! So yeah, def doing it. Totally with you Ibaka is falling off, but even at his value now he’s worth more than Valanciunas to me. Any TIIIIIMMMMEEEEE! haha

      • Threekola says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:

Kinda wanna take Marc instead…but I know you think he’s bound to fall off soon.

But Joeger acknowledges his heavy minutes and it looks like he’ll control him. Idk, i jsut really hate Ibaka hahah.

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

    (link)

Hey would you trade Dr. Green and Barton/porter to get westbrook? 11 team 9 cat roto.
I am first in league by a big margin and I would like to open up a spot to get aaron Gordon as a stash. The only categories that I’m not top -3 is ft % and to.
    Thanks in advance

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Bahraspower: Well I would have to weigh what you stand to gain by getting Westbrook (seems like his scoring and other small boosts in counting stats are minimal) with how much you lose with his heavy TO and FG% drain. I think I’d likely hold Draymond, unless you only stand to move maybe 1 point in TO if there’s a big gap in the standings somewhere

  27. v00dr00 says:

    Hey JB,

I need your help now more than ever. I have a trade for his KD for my Boogie Cuz. For some background:

The trader has won 2 out of 4 keeper seasons due to my dumbass friend trading Westbrook for Gay and Ersan(yeah, it was that Ersan year, but whatever…)so his keepers now are Wall, Damian, KD, Westbrook and his prospect(1-2 years of NBA play) Gobert. My keepers are AD, Boogie, PG13 and EBled(RIP). No prospect for me. We are both the top 2 teams by a wide margin and I lead by about 7 stats in a H2H 12 team 17 CAT league. Here’s his roster, then mine:

And there you have it…In this keeper league, do I trade Boogie for KD?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@v00dr00: I think you kinda have to. I guess he’s trying to boost REB/BLK? Even with Boogie a tad younger, I think I’d have to take Durant

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

Dropping Taj Gibson or Matt barnes for Tyson chandler or Aaron Gordon? 10-team. Thanks

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Tedd: Sure, Tyson probably needs to be owned, but damn am I having trouble on who to drop. Probably Barnes, but I do like his fantasy game

      • Tedd says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: wow really? Matt Barnes is a really solid multi-cat guy. Are you sure you’d drop him for chandler? Especially since he’s only getting minutes with leuer and markieff out. Also, with phoenix not making playoffs they might focus on the younger players and play Tyson less, no? Thanks though, just want to make sure before I make the move.or would you rather have len or myles?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Tedd: In a 10er, I’m not as worried on backend ROS terms, and Tyson HAS to be owned right now while they’re playing him. Sure by mid March he might be phased out, but Barnes I think will be up and down right now so I’d have to swap those. All that said, MYLES TURNER ME! Haha. Rather him than Chandler.

  31. Nont nontiskul says:
    (link)

Would you own Len or chandler going forward ?

  32. Peaniece says:
    (link)

Yo JB, someone offered me reggie jackson for my jrue holiday. I am really tempted to accept the trade but I decided that the best option is to consult you first. One thing that bothers me is Reggie Jackson’s lack of steals but turnovers aside (im punting them) who is the better fantasy asset for the long term (16 team h2h 10cat (3p%)). Also please keep in mind that when the tyreke shutdown happens, Jrue is gonna have even more opportunities.

Another question is that in your opinion, what is the probability of Tyreke getting shutdown?

    Thx JB!!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Peaniece: I’ll take Rjax, with a big factor being minimizing risk. Definitely don’t trust Jrue while Rjax is a rock. I think there’s also a chance at Jrue shutdown too! Pels are actually winning some games so it’s making it cloudier, if he’s healthy I think he’ll play it out, but I don’t trust his ankles

      • Peaniece says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:
Okay thanks!! I’ll be doing that trade then!
Is Tyreke someone I have to get rid of asap?
        Would you take
        Tyreke or Dragic?
        Otto Porter or Rodney Hood
How does this trade sound? Tyreke and Hood for Porter and Dragic

Or this trade: Tyreke for Conley (dunno if owner would bite though)

I’m also currently trying to make a pitch for James Harden can you please tell me if both are worth it?
        Amir Hood Tyreke –> harden
the sweeter deal in case he doesnt bite for the first one: Amir Hood Tyreke Greg –> . Harden faried
Which is the best way of losing Tyreke please rank them. Sorry for asking too much JB
        Thanks in advance!!

        • Peaniece says:
          (link)

          @Peaniece:
Also the wire is really thin. Best players acc to %owned are Jokic, Teletovic, Kmart, Lamb, Leonard

          • JB Gilpin

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@Peaniece: Sweet sounds good! Hmmmmm Reke vs. Dragic… Reke fears seem to be a tad overblown right now, but I think I narrowly do that first 2 for 2 trade. I’d take Conley. But yeah those Harden deals would be STEALS! I like the first Harden deal, both are good, those are my fav two.

Ummm, I like Jokic best on wire

            • Peaniece says:
              (link)

              @JB Gilpin:
Yo JB the owner changed his mind and offered Reggie and Tobias Harris for my Thaddeus Young and Rjax. Is this still good for me? Sorry for being really indecisive but it is halfway through the season and I have to make minimal mistakes to get a high seed come playoffs. Thx again!!

  33. Lasandro says:
    (link)

Safe to say that Teague is by far your biggest fantasy bust this season. I own him in my shallow 9 cat roto and no one will touch him. Hell, I’d prob rather own his backup right now. Obviously something mental going on. Tried to trade him for jrue straight up and dude didn’t bite. He is killing my fg and 3% is is so strange after what he did last season. What to do? Drop him for a guy like d’angelo, goran?

    • Lasandro says:
      (link)

@jb Gilpin: I’ve been rotating bigs that block for a while now. Moved on from Amir (F you Stevens) and onto Capela til Dwight returns. Do I make a claim for taj, grab Len, hawes for the next week (he’s getting MINUTES)?

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Lasandro: “my” biggest bust? or fantasy in general?

Dragic is worth considering, but wanna see Dragic playing first. You need to focus on REL more, these shallow league decisions are killing me!

Hah yeah never trusted Amir… Taj def stands out to me

      • Lasandro says:
        (link)

@jb Gilpin: c’mon bro, you should know by now that I wouldn’t blame you for any of your pre-ranks! Particularly ranking a dude who had a great year and made the AS team. In general, dude has been a FLOP. I feel that once batum is healthy again I might package the two of them to land a capable pg, because this toe thing seems to be legit..

Noted on Taj but I completely forgot to mention A Gordon is available too! Still Taj? I watched Gordon’s first start and dude got called for 3 straight fouls in the first quarter and still ended up playing in the early 20’s putting up a decent line. My needs are efficient scoring, Obrds and blks and these 2 guys seem to fit the bill. What ya think? Can’t trust Skiles or worth a shot? Taj went through a major block drought prior to his last couple.. And thoughts on Len moving forward. If he gets starters mins, surely he’d be a viable candidate too no?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Lasandro: Haha just being sure 🙂

Yup love that idea, Batum has a lot of tread on their tires. Wait a week or two and hope both show nice signs of life.

Yeah, that’s a tough one. Taj obviously the consistent one, Gordon the upside. Yup if Len keeps starting he’s in the mix, but I’ll rank em Taj, Gordon, Len still for now

  34. stumlu says:
    (link)

    Hey there

Who do you think is the best pick up? Alex Len or Cauley-Stein? or are they both short time pickups?

    tnx for your opinion!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@stumlu: I think Len is a far superior player, but ROS terms I’ll take WCS since I think he can stay healthier and Suns might shut down Len. SHort term, might Len

Alright JB, got two trade offers:
    1) My CJM, Korver, LaVine, Nance for his Moose, Ryno, Avery Bradley
    2) My Favors, Zbo, Redick, LaVine for his Freak, Dirk, Dragic, Harrison Barnes

Our season ends a little bit short because we switch from roto to h2h for a few weeks of playoffs with a week off in between if that changes anything. Which one do I pull the trigger on?

I’m thinking #1 because moose is the best on the table and it’s injury free, but wanted to hear your thoughts. Cheers!!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@the gintern: Man, the 4x4s are tough to break down! Def like #1, pretty much CJ and garbage for 3 usable guys. I like #2 just as much though! Ahhhh, I think I’d do 2, so close. 2 is safer to me, sure Dirk is a risk, but so is Favors. Ryno could get traded. I think Freak is best in all the deals plus you get Dragic for some hopeful bouncebackability. Any time!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@v00dr00: Sorry to cop out, but I gotta say Warren if you need scoring, Lyles for REB and some all around, ROS terms in a limited moves league I would take Warren – upside for Suns youth movement

My durant, draymond, hood, taj gibson and terrence jones for his Butler, Horford, ibaka, Ariza and reggie jackson.

    which side would you prefer??

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@sebapargue: Sheeeeesh. A lot of this comes down to league size and format, love side 2 in a deeper roto. Shallower H2H I might stick with studs of KD and Dray…

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

      • Justin says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: ok. Btw. I would have to drop Amir or olynk for len. Who should I drop? Or just keep my guys?

    Hey JB,

What do you make of Collison’s recent struggles?
Would you rather have someone like Gary Harris as the last guard on your squad?

Is Nurkic worth a stash in a 12er?
Could maybe snag Len instead. (Or Randle, Mahinmi, Markieff)

    Thanks!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@J: I HATE RONDO THATS WHAT I THINK! Haha. Nahhhhh, I’d stick with Colly, not liking Colly and Rondo not playing together as much anymore. I’d rather own one of those guys than stash Nurk, they’re going to be soooooo careful with him. Prob Randle ROS, maybe Len for short-term. Any time!
