The NBA season is off and running.  For those of you that don’t don’t know me, I go by the name of Daddybigs in the DFS community.  I am excited to be part of the Razzball team and doing the weekend Draftkings NBA write up.  Like to thank Sky and JB for this opportunity.  OK enough of the pleasantries.  Let’s get on with it.  First thing I would like to point out that is different from last year on Draftkings is that you don’t have the roster flexibility due to the strict player positions.  Also with the NFL, NHL and College Football going on, be smart with your bankroll.

On Saturday we have a 13 game slate.  That’s good to keep the percentage owned down.

Point Guards

I was going to write up Russell Westbrook but he is sidelined with a broken hand.  So Sebastian Telfair ($4600) will handle the PG duties for the Thunder.  He is nice value play. Also there are rumblings that Reggie Jackson ($5900) could play.  If Jackson does play he is by far the best OKC offensive player.

Tony Wroten ($6500) is getting all the run he can handle with MCW out injured.  Wroten led his team in shot attempts and that should continue.  He should also get a decent amount of rebounds and steals which is always a good thing.

D.J. Augustin ($4700) – Stan Van Gundy likes him more than Jennings. So far DJ has gotten 30.5 mins, 17.5 ppg, 4.5 apg, and 1.5 3pg in the first two games.  Nice source of cap relief.

Also Ty Lawson ($6800) is at a real good price point and Derrick Rose ($7200) plays against a Timberwolves team that doesn’t like to play defense.

Shooting Guards

Klay Thompson ($7100) just signed a max deal and is playing at home where he always shoots better against the Lakers.  Also you get an extra .5 for a 3pt on DK.

Courtney Lee ($4300) seems to be flying under the radar as far as ownership percentage.  If he keeps seeing mid 30’s mins plug him in.  Note: Check his playing status because he went out Friday with a mild concussion.

Garrett Temple ($3400) is a good price for a player that played 31 and 34 mins in the first two games.

Small Forwards

Draymond Green ($5700) is a cheaper option and will start if David Lee is ruled out. If he can get a double-double again, the price isn’t bad

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist  ($5300) had a great game all around game to start the season.  The match-up against Memphis isn’t the best, but the small forward position on DK isn’t the best.

Khris Middleton ($4300) is another under priced starter that is getting mid 30’s mins.

Power Forwards

Anthony Davis ($10,800) After his awesome season opening game you will have to spend if you want one of the best players in the game. If you can fit him then go for it.

Kenneth Faried ($7700) had a monster 1st game of the year with 22 pts and 17 boards.  He only played 28 minutes which is a bit concerning.  I expect him to be in the low 30’s in minutes most nights.

I really like the price and match up for Nene Hilario ($5700).

Also consider Terrence Jones ($6000).

Centers

If Dwight Howard ($8500) can stay out of foul trouble he should have a field day against the undersized front court of the Celtics.

The 76ers don’t have anyone that can slow down Chris Bosh ($8700).  Play him with confidence.

Nikola Vucevic ($8400) has had a great start to the season.  56.25 and 45 DK points.  He should have no problem keeping this up against Toronto.

On Sunday we a short slate games.  Not going to talk about the one afternoon game.  3 night games.

The game you will want the most exposure to is Golden St. at Portland.  All the starters are in play.  Check the status of David Lee and his bad hammy.  If he’s out Draymond Green will start in his place.

Toronto at Miami – Chris Bosh looks like his old self and that’s great for fantasy.  Norris Cole gets the start a PG but looks to be splitting time with Mario Chalmers.  Dwyane Wade is a little too expensive for my liking.  As for the Toronto side of things, Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan are always fine plays.  As for the rest of the Raptors they seem to be in a 8-man rotation.  That’s not good for DFS purposes.

Charlotte at New York – As always Melo is the Knick you want to roster.  Jose Calderon is out so Shane Larkin takes over the PG duties.  Not recommending him because the Knicks triangle offense doesn’t rely on the PG too heavily.  Amar’e Stoudemire a decent option too.  On the Hornets side, I’m fine playing all five starters in this game but it’s all about Big Al Jefferson and Kemba Walker.  Al Jeff is one of the safest cash game options you can roster and Kemba just got paid.  MKG worked on his shot all summer long and looks like it has helped.

As always you can catch me on twitter @realdaddybigs and good luck this weekend.
