As we prep for the 2016 NBA Draft in a mere week, I’ve noticed that some of the buzziest guys we didn’t draft in Slim and I’s (grammar police!) 2016 NBA Mock Draft have some absolutely awesome names. And what do you think of when you hear absolutely awesome male names? Porn stars of course! So I dedicated a little mini-series to the under-the-radar draft day names that could sneak their way into the first round and have some deep league 2016-17 fantasy impact.

Ok, ok, ok, this one probablyyyyyy shouldn’t count. I know like 10% of you are like, “why is Chevy Chase’s son from Vegas Vacation in the draft?!”, but no, we’re taking a look at Papa Georgio from Greece, Georgios Papagiannis. Who’s hungry for a Greek pizza?!
Why this shouldn’t count is that Papagiannis – yes he is indeed Antetokounmpo’s father – is only 18 years old and not going to play in the NBA this year. “Booooooo, JB, boooooo!” The virtual commenter booing me is just like how I got booed for banking a 3 in this morning’s pickup game. Points be points! But he gets the dubious honor of making this series by being Draft Express’s 50th overall prospect, with a full year of overseas ball to continue to rise his stock.
Georgios is a monster of a Greek, standing 7’2 and isn’t a toothpick ala Thon Maker weighing in at 240 lbs, or 6 barrels of Feta. Kosta Koufos is like, “finally, another big Greek C like me!” There’s a lot of positives to keep Papajohnnis on your radar – he can finish at the rim, has a jumper (for his size), and has shot-blocking ability. He can also hit his freebies. But as we’ve seen with several emerging bigs that are too tall for their britches, he doesn’t have the best conditioning and lumbers around on fast breaks like Robin Lopez. “Don’t give it to me in space guys, I’m scared!”
Draft Express has Papasmurfis going 40th in their most recent mock draft, indicating an NBA team might be willing to drop a second round pick on securing his rights. It also makes it seem like Papanewguineais is ready to come to the States (or Canada) as soon as he can.
It’s more of a “keep this guy on your radar” name than anything actionable in the near future, but maybe he can hit the league and have a Boban Marjanovic type impact. Minus the huge ears. I’m guessing the hands are about the same… And you know what they say about big hands! Great porn stars…
