Oh boy, more injuries to studs and more teams scrambling…

Sometime before the weekend, Blake Griffin had a fairly routine (and he’s had a few) elbow draining.  Blake’s draining jumpers, the team docs are draining elbows!  But over the weekend the elbow developed a staph infection, and he’ll have surgery and won’t be evaluated until after the All-Star Break.  Blake is firing off jumpers and the team docs are about to be fired!  Reports are saying it could be a 4-6 week sort of thing, but with staph infections you never know.  Either way, he’s an obvious hold in all leagues.  While Blake goes all Leo McGarry on us, Samurai Spencer Hawes and his little hair bun went 17/1/0/0/1 on 7-16 shooting with two treys in 35 minutes.  Samurai Spence should be an add in virtually all leagues, as his mix of scoring/treys/blocks can help a lot of teams.  Sure he won’t board almost at all for a big with DeAndre Jordan swallowing em all up, but we can ignore that.  Kinda like how Denis McDonough ignored that second “n” in his first name.  What is it with “Mc” real-life and fictional Chiefs of Staph?!  I bet the Oval Office whisky is well stocked…  Here’s what else went down over the weekend in fantasy basketball action:

Langston Galloway The Harlem Renaissance!  Get Gallo in the All-Star Game in NY!  You know, they should do a D-League NBA players (guys who have been called up in the current season) vs. D-League All-Stars game.  I’d so watch that!  Anyway, 9/11/4/1/0 on Friday night hitting the glass hard, followed by 15/4/3/2/0 with 3 treys Saturday.  Took an absurd 19 shots!  Such a Renaissance.

Jason Smith Big game Saturday night for 14/13/3/0/0 hitting all 6 freebies.  Louis Amundson, aka Sweet Lou 2, didn’t even get to 10 minutes battling foul trouble.  Not enough bigs to go around!

Tobias Harris Huge game Friday night for 34/7/2/1/1 hitting 14-18 from the field.  “Am I touching something…?  Hot!”  15/8/1/3/0 last night, cooled off a tad, but another 2 treys and multi-3PTM in 3 straight.  If only he had a good playoff schedule to try and hop on this bandwagon!

Jordan Clarkson Be aggressive, be be aggressive!  Loved seeing him slash so hard yesterday afternoon for 8-9 FT in a 20/6/4/3/0 line with no TO.  14/2/6/4/0 Friday night, giving him back-to-back big games.  He’s like, “Hey, Jeremy – SINCE YOU BEEN GONE!  …from the starting lineup… I FEEL ALIVE FOR THE FIRRRRST TIME!”

James Johnson Here’s another guy happy to be starting again!  Picked up 30 minutes starting over Greivis Vasquez for a surprisingly empty 20/4/0/0/0 line.  Did hit 8-10 including a huge late trey though! Was big off the bench for 16/5/3/2/0 on 7-7 shooting Friday night, but last night could’ve been a matchup call to get his D on Kawhi Leonard.  And it worked.  As Kawhi cost me some cats in REL…

Jonas Valanciunas He’s back!  He’s a beast!  8/16/0/1/4, but wait…. It was against the Spurs who give up huge games to opposing post guys…  I think this might be the pinnacle of this little blocks-binge, so I would try to sell.

Mike Scott Great Scott!  Scott was hot!  5-7 FG (3-3 3PTM 4-4 FT) on Friday night for 17/2/0/0/0 then 11/1/1/0/0 on 4-7 last night with another 3 treys.  The minutes aren’t there for much more than deep league ThrAGNOFfing, but man he is gonna be my #1 sleeper whenever he’s looking at a starting role heading into a season.

Tim Frazier That third baseman for the Reds is sure making some noise!  Wait, oh, right…  Always impressive to get a dimebag in your team debut!  5/5/11/2/0 Friday night, but only 0/3/8/1/0 Saturday in a combined 2-16 shooting.  But hey, need some low end dimes in a deeper?  Sure!

Jusuf Nurkic Jamba Jus going full smoothie!  6/13/1/1/1 with no TO on Friday, but did shoot a terrible 1-10 from the field.  Boost those electrolytes with an extra ginkgo shot!

Greg Monroe The Jus was loose, but the moose was looser!  I’m confused…  Went Goro on the Nugs for 21/21/3/2/2.  Goro+rainbow!  Struggled a little yesterday against the Pek, and the defensive stats are as irregular as someone with IBS, so hopefully you get another big one next time out and can sell the moosey goosey.

D.J. Augustin On an absolute tear with another 20/2/8 with 2 treys last night.  DJ+Hassan Whiteside might win some fantasy players some brass come March and April!  Pickups of the year right there, that is, if Whiteside can get his ankle on the healthy side.

Giannis Antetokounmpo I love the Bucks radio call when he hits treys, “ABC easy as 1-2-3!”  Unfortunately, those have been very few and far between…  27/15/4/0/1 on Friday followed by 14/11/5/1/2 Saturday.  I expect more jumpers and treys as he progresses through his career, so in dynasty this might be the last buying period even at a high price these days.

Josh Smith – Near tripdub!  14/10/8/1/1 Friday, but back down to 16/5/4/0/0 yesterday.  Hit 4 treys in both, but camon.  Not going here.

Ricky Rubio Sat out last night and they’re going to sit him on back-to-backs for now.  I would slap Flip Saunders right in the face if I ever saw him.  Looked fantastic against the Grizz last Friday for 17/5/5/3/0 hitting 6-12 from the field with 3 treys.  If he adds a 3 a game on top of his normal stats as the minutes go up, he’s going to have a huge finish.  I would use this DNP on back-to-backs (which could get lifted post-ASB) as a buying point.

Zach LaVine Played a few minutes next to Mo Williams yesterday, ending up with a 5-6 FG 10/3/3 line including a nasty alley.  Actually 3 of his FG were dunks, which as he gets consistent minutes theoretically at SG next to Rubio during the next 3-4 years, it would make him an interesting bet for a good FG%.

Nikola Pekovic – Can’t slow the Peking Duck!  29/3/1/2/0 last night absolutely owning the Pistons in the paint.  Hit 9-16 from the field and his typical solid 11-12 FT.  If you need FT% help especially from a big, say in a Roto, Pek could actually help a ton in that situation.  Otherwise, meh.

Anthony Davis The ups and downs of fantasy basketball!  Well, real basketball too I guess…  Hits a ridiculous game-winner Friday night on a double-pump trey (on top of a 41/10/3/0/2 line with a 10-10 FT in there), then falls hard on Saturday and sprains his shoulder forcing an early exit.  He’s questionable for tonight, but I wouldn’t doubt yet another DNP with a minor injury.  Ugh.

Tyreke Evans Super tripdub!  22/10/16/1/1 Friday night hitting 3 treys.  But had trouble against the Bulls yesterday for only 15/4/3/2/1.  Which is still good!  There’s been no optimism yet for Jrue Holiday and his return, but as soon as there’s anything good out there I would try to eke out a sell-high Reke.

Russell Westbrook He’s so good.  Two MVPs, one team!  Awesome video.

Marcus Morris Whoa, hot hand outburst!  And we all know Hornacek loves to ride his hot hands…   34/12/0/2/1 out of nowhere Friday night, hitting 5 treys.  And as hot as he got, back down to not…  5/6/0/0/0 last night.  Ah, the ride the hot hand Suns…

Tyler Johnson Signed for the rest of the year by the Heat, and a little intriguing after 18/2/0/2/0 Friday night hitting 7-10 and both his treys.  While Dwyane Wade is out, a little ThrAGNOF/steals streaming for deepers?  Sure, why not!

Tony Snell Mach Schnell!  Went bonkers for 19/5/0/0/0 on 7-10 shooting hitting 5-6 treys last Friday, then got 37 minutes last night (Mike Dunleavy still out plus Kirk Hinrich with a bad toe opened those up) for 8/3/2/0/0 and a couple of treys.  Throw him in that Ty-Jo bucket!

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Yikes, strained his hammy and the Hornets went from blowing the Sixers out to losing.  Then lost on some terrible execution last night, but definitely wasn’t MKG’s fault!  You can point right to…

Brian Roberts – …who is terrible.  Sure his 19/2/5 line with a thrice of treys is fine, but got the final inbounds down 1 with 5 seconds left and threw up an ugly 40-footer 3 pointer with no real defensive pressure.  Al Jefferson was like, “wtf dude?  How about running a play?”  Ruined Big Al’s huge 30/13 night!

Robin Lopez Rolo has ruined so many more nights!  Including 11/5/0/0/1 on Saturday, with 1-2 FT, but he got ya with those 5 TO.  He’s so bad!!!!  Don’t worry though, fixed the TO with none yesterday, but in an empty 14/3/1/0/0 line.  Worthless!  After 6 blocks his first two games back, only 1 block the past two.  Bleckkkkkk.

Rudy Gay Worse bleck!  Gave us the ol’ 4/1/1 (with 2 TO) on Saturday by telling trainers his foot was hurt.  Ended up sitting out last night as well.  Even though I think the Kings blow it up, I doubt it will be by moving Gay or hurt his numbers.  Maybe a tiny buy low window right now.

Ramon Sessions Played decent last night for 10/7/6, and barely, and I mean JUST barely ahead of Brian Roberts if you need to stream a PG early this week and Darren Collison remains out.  Sheesh, how did the Kings win against the Suns last night?!  Oh, 5-28 from deep for Phoenix, there it is…  Plus Baby Bledsoe… (on Rotoworld on the injury page, it says “Injury”: “wife having baby” haha)

Mitch McGary – Running for Chief of Staph!  He’s Irish and all!  Huge breakout for Mitchy for 19/10 on 8-9 FG.  Looked pretty good out there!  Steven Adams left with a hand injury yesterday afternoon (still don’t know the severity – but he’s already ruled out tonight which isn’t sounding bueno) and Kendrick Perkins was suspended for going all Zinedine Zidane…  Even though I expect Perk to get his little bits of run and Nick Collison is still entrenched there, McGary could have a little opportunity for deepers.

Ed Davis Much more appealing!  16/9/2/0/1 yesterday hitting all 4 of his FT, and outplaying the scrubs starting ahead of him.  3 straight usable games and worth a look for big man-desperate 12er teams.

James Harden Mmmmm beards.

Streamers/Cheap Daily Fantasy Picks:

Marreese Speights (23% owned) – The Ace of Speights!   If you had to put money on a blowout, would it be on any other matchup than the Warriors against the Sixers?!  Speights is under 16 minutes in 3 straight, 2 of those in under 14, and I think he gets unleashed against that weaksauce second unit front line.

Mike Scott (2% owned) – Why not my boy Scott?!  He’s been hot the last two as mentioned above, this should be a blowout against the Wolves (well, they are playing better…), and it’s a back-to-back so we could see some lower minutes from the starters.

I hope everyone had a great weekend, and we’ll catch ya tomorrow!

Would you reccomend trading tim duncan for gortat Im a 10 team league. …considering duncan is due for some dnp very soon?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Dan harmon: Nahhhh, I don’t disagree Duncan is going to regress a tad and get some DNPs but I don’t trust Gortat to pick it up

    JB,

Ed Davis or Jusuf Nurkic for the rest of the season?

@Martin: Yeah Nurk for me too, when Jordan Hill gets back it’ll muddy Davis’ minuutes

    Good morning JB,

    MKG vs PitPat ROS?

Also, Can you rank these in order? Ginobili, PitPat, Brewer, Mo Will, and MKG? I need someone who can slot in small forward but not necessarily more boards.

    Thanks.

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Abulldogs: I’ll take PitPat for a far more rounded fantasy game. A healthy (he isn’t) MKG is pretty much just a boards guy. The high volume FTs makes him tough to own at times.

I’m going… PitPat cause he’s playing so well, then Ginobili for some assists but the DNPs will be annoying, then Brewer for his sexy steals, then Mo Williams should get a nice bench role but his stock is definitely falling, then MKG cause he doesn’t do much for us but board.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Abulldogs: Morning man! Yeah I’ll go Pit-Pat too, less TO as well. Eve though you don’t need more boards I might put MKG over Mo Will, but other than that I’m with Slim’s ranks

Lost this week by a huge margin 2-7 against an under .500-opponent…. In a weekly league, players locked the whole week, collison, mcw, whiteside, nowitzki, bledsoe all missed a combined 8-9 games. And I only lost points by 2, 3pm by 2, ft by 1%. Jesus…. Huge blow for my team and now I’m 18.5 games behind the no. 1 team(currently sitting at 4th spot). I’ losing hope, JB can you like say some words of encouragement? LOL. Send colly+mcw+dirk+hibbert = demarcus cuzzo+westbrook?

Getting rid of collison cos u said I should! LOL!

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Dante Green: We got rocked in the F&F for the same reason… MCW, Whiteside. Sucks. All star break might give these guys the rest they need. I’m not selling any of those if you can avoid it. I think Colly will be back shortly after the all-star break. I’m not too worried about that.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

Hey JB. got a trade offer from a guy in my head to head points lead. I would get LeBron James, Jefferson, and Kyle Lowry for my Pau, Jimmy Butler and Horford. Gasol and LeBron are less than a point in average differential. Butler is about 2 points more than Lowry and jefferson is about a point less than Horford. Thoughts?

    • Nikko says:
      (link)

@Nikko: or i may Have to ask for Teague instead of Lowry

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@Nikko: Yeah that’s a toughie. I def wouldn’t swap out Teague over Lowry, but I’d probably do it. LeBron is going up and I expect a smidge of regression from Gasol

        • Nikko says:
          (link)

@JB Gilpin: he has offered Lowry, LeBron and Markieff for Butler, Pau and Horford. I feel like Id be giving too much. What do you think

          • JB Gilpin

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@Nikko: Ack yeah took out Jefferson for Markieff, nah it’s not enough to do it

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Nikko: It doesn’t look like much of a change, which for me means you shouldn’t give in to his demands (Teague instead of Lowry). Stand strong and if doesn’t happen you don’t really lose anything.

  7. J says:

    Hey JB,

    14 Team H2H (11 CAT, w/ FGM and FTM)

    Lillard, Lawson, Smart
    Knight, Lou Will
    JButler, Hayward, MBarnes
    Carroll, Deng
    Al Jeff, Markieff, Olynyk

I’ve been mainly punting REBs and BLKs this year. We have two C spots to fill (although its usually not a problem due to lack of bench spots), so I snagged Olynyk in hopes of flipping Al Jeff for someone to further my strategy.

Could you suggest some comparable guards/wings that I could target?

    Thanks!

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@J: I was going to start with my boy Gordon Hayward but I guess I need to look elsewhere. You could try Draymond or Kawhi. Ariza or maybe Wes Matthews but only as a last resort.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Tyler Durden: Yeah since punting blocks I’d go Gallo too

  9. The BigLebowski says:
    (link)

    Hey JB,

14 team, H2H 9 cat, keep 7 year to year

I’m currently tied for 4th place, but just 2 games separate 4th place from 9th place (top 10 make the playoffs). I’ve got 4 matchups left in the regular season, and 3 are against the top 3 teams in the standings.

I’ve been offered Klay Thompson and Blake Griffin for my Hayward and Draymond Green. WW is pretty thin (Humphries, Crowder, B Wright, Shumpert, T Allen, J Grant etc). I’m in a good spot to compete this year, I like the lineup flexibility Green and Hayward give me, and I’m pretty loaded in the front court, so my inclination is to stick with Hayward and Green, though I may just be vastly overvaluing them since they’re my guys. Thoughts?

    PG: Conley, Rubio
SG: Hayward, JR Smith, KCP, Stephenson
    SF: Durant, Draymond Green, Turner
    PF: A Davis, Plumlee (NJ)
    C: Drummond, Whiteside, Nurkic
    IR: J Hill, K Olynyk

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@The BigLebowski: Yeah I think you gotta tsand pat with Blake missing probably 10ish games. Maybe it’s less since this surgery is over the All star break, but I don’t think it’s worth the risk where you’re at in the standings

      • The BigLebowski says:

a manager from one of my leagues is slipping in the ranks and is trading like mad.

please tell me what you think of these trades so i can decide whether to veto or not.

his marc Gasol for Conely and Fareid

    his BG for Rolo

the one that gets me is BG for Rolo. if the expected time out is truly 4-6 weeks the maybe it’s ok (since the guy he’s trading with is also in a vulnurable spot, they are both at risk).

    what do you think?

    as always, really appreciate it

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@patrick: MGasol for Conley/Faried is reasonable depending on need.

An injured Griffin isn’t worth much to me so I think the RoLo deal is reasonable for someone who isn’t a lock for the playoffs.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@patrick: Yeah they’re both pretty even trades, no reason to consider vetoing them

@JB Gilpin: alright fair enough. it’s a 14 team league so you’re prob right. clawed my way from the bottom to now 7th with a slew of first half injuries. wanna make sure panic trades don’t hurt my playoff chances ;o)

    Hey Guys,

Trying to decide whether to hold on to Burks in my Dynasty league or drop him for James Johnson, possibly McGary. I have a lot of great young guys on my team (Gobert, Kanter, Nurkic, Wiggins, T Jones, D-Mo, Clarkson, RJax, Embiid, A. Gordon).

As for the SG position, I’m pretty fixed with Harden, Wiggins, RJax and then maybe Burks.

Do you think I’m safe to drop Burks to add a help now and/or upside guy like James Johnson, McGary, Aminu, etc. They could help now and I’m in first so I need some win now.

    Thanks!

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@jon: I’m holding onto Burks in the REL but I don’t have the options you do. McGary is going to get DNPs and Aminu isn’t my kind of guy. I’d pass on both. James Johnson with a starting job and 30 minutes is going to win people their leagues. I don’t love dropping Burks, I actually think he’s going to be a major sleeper next year considering he’s been playing with his injured shoulder since college, but James Johnson will help you win and when it comes down to it that’s what we’re playing for.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@jon: Agree with Slim, I gotta grab James Johnson there. Unless you’re dead last with no shot at all for the playoffs, maybe I would hold, but I’m guessing you’re somewhat in it so I would make that move

  12. Steven says:

In a H2H weekly points league is it worth the risk to start Rudy gay this week? He has 2 games and if I sit him im going to have to replace him with Derozan, Robert Covington, or Michael carter Williams, all three of whom only have 1 game.

I feel like with so few games th most important thing I can do is maximize games played but im nervous the Kings shut gay down till after the all star break.

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Steven: Yeah starting Rudy Gay is pretty risky. MCW is definitely a bench. DeRozan vs Covington is need based. 3s/steals vs points. I’d go with Covington, crazy but he’s just too good of a fantasy player.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Steven: Hah Slim, yeah I was gonna go Covington too, Gay is a little too risky but I would def check at the last minute line-ups lock to see if we have an optimistic Gay update, but I doubt we will

  13. Scott says:

Who do you like better? Bogut, Nurkic, or RoLo?

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Scott: Nurkic, then RoLo, then a huge gap, then Bogut. You could make an argument for RoLo since his minutes are pretty safe but he doesn’t have the steal or assist upside of Nurk.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Scott: Agree with Slim’s don’t trust Bogut’s minutes or health

  14. Scott says:

    Also, hold on Dieng?

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Scott: Yes, but with Pek “healthy” Dieng is below both Nurkic and RoLo.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Scott: I prob would, likely holding him over Rolo but that’s my Rolo hate shining through haha. Eh maybe not… Agree with SLim

Need 2 for ROS out of Dieng, Ryan Anderson, Clarkson, James Johnson, Hawes

    Thanks Razzball!

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@jcg: They offer such different things… 1st if you need assists Clarkson is a must own and 1st on the list. I really like James Johnson with his current role and if he keeps it all year then he’s probably going to be #2… until Pekovic goes down then I take Gorgui but Gorgui is last on this list with Pek “healthy”. Anderson vs Hawes is pretty close but I have a bit more trust is Anderson.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@jcg: Yeah this is a real tough one not knowing needs, probably Anderson and Clarkson in a vacuum for me. Any time!

    SG: Harden, George Hill
    SF: Kawhi, Draymond
    PF: Milsap, Favours, D-Mo
C: Bogut, Nurkic, Len, Spencer Hawes

Currently in third place in my league. I’m second last in PTS, trying to catch up in 3’s, and want to move past folks in assists.

    I’m thinking of offering:

    My: Harden, Draymond, Nurkic,

    For: Curry, Gay, Isaiah Thomas

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@Scort: Absolutely not! Harden vs Curry is 6 of one half a dozen of the other. Draymond is much better than a healthy Rudy Gay and he isn’t. I get moving Nurk for IT2 but I think that is pretty even and need based. I think I would just look to do that. Move a big man for a PG.

@Scort: I think it’s closer than Slim, but yeah with Gay hurt and the Kings this bad I wouldn’t send that offer

        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:

Thanks. Should I buy low for R. Gay? And who should I part with?

And should I drop Len for Aminu? I use Len for defensive stats but it seems like Aminu is a bit better. I realize he’s been getting more minutes with Rondo out.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Scort: Yeah I kinda do like Gay as a buy low. Certainly wouldn’t overpay though. I wouldn’t give up any of your stars, I’d try and feel out a 2-for-1 looking at his needs. Yeah Aminu is a little short term, but I think I would ride the hot hand, moving on from Aminu post ASB when Rondo is back

I know he’s your ex JB, and the feelings are still a little raw between the two of you, but I’ve gotta ask (maybe Slim can jump in too). I’ll preface by saying I’m not at all sure it isn’t temporary. At what point does a little block binge become an actual change in what a guy is gonna give you going forward. Especially when that guy is just 22 years old? Again, I’m not necessarily sold yet.

    JVs blocks in the last 13 games – 2, 1, 1, 3, 3, 1, 2, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1, 4

From watching him he seems to have actually caught on to a defensive concept just recently. That being don’t leave your feet, and if you do, go straight up and not into the defender. Its also obvious from watching him that he’s not a block it into the fifth row kind of guy, he’s more of a get a hand on it and redirect it a little bit kind of player. Could he get 1.5 to 2 a game being that kind of shot blocker? Other examples of guys like that?

    • Slim

      Slim says:
      (link)

@A Hill O’ Beans: It isn’t impossible but until he gets consistent minutes I can’t buy it. He had a 17 minute game a few back, a 20 min just the other day. That’s still the toughest part for me.

I think Hibbert is that kind of shotblocker, the Lopez brothers maybe. As opposed to like Ibaka or Whiteside that actually leap to block shots above the rim.

      • A Hill O' Beans says:
        (link)

        @Slim: Thanks Slim.

Yeah the minutes are infuriating to be honest. As a Raptor fan I’ll say, and I think I can speak for most of us, when a guy gets a double double in the first half he should get more than 5 minutes and zero touches in the second half.

The Raps coaches love them some small ball. They say he’s not quick enough to get on the floor in the 4th, yet the reason he’s not is cause they made him bulk up before last season to bang with bigger bodies. I really hope they don’t mismanage him too much cause the minutes are crazy yo-yo for a guy who’s per 36’s are only getting better. He’s playing around 2 MPG less this year, despite improving at basically everything, fantasy and real life.

Side note, I hope that’s the only JV / Hibbert comparison I ever hear.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@A Hill O’ Beans: Yeah the minutes is the big thing for me too. Sure a guy can improve, but yeah as you mention below, two minutes less than last year?! So many teams are going the small ball route, it’s interesting… JV = Hibbert you know it! Haha

      • A Hill O' Beans says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: I’m not a fan of the small ball thing. What’s the obsession with pushing the pace all the time? At what point will teams learn that small ball / high tempo is great in the regular season, but usually falls on its face come playoff time. Defense and good half court offense may not be as flashy, but in the end its what will win.

Will they ever learn? I’d love to see the game swing a bit more toward the traditional style again. Just a little bit at least.

PS – JV does not equal Hibbert, lol. Don’t even joke about that! Did you see JV get fed up with the refs against the Spurs? You know he’s still young when he thinks he’s gonna get calls against Duncan, haha. Got him fired up though so I won’t complain.

        • JB Gilpin

@A Hill O’ Beans: Maybe they’re savin Valanciunas for the playoffs! Haha. It’s interesting to see teams go with different philosophies, I do kinda like that.

Hah I know, just having fun. Good to see JV fired up unlike Hibbert who has stretches when he looks like he doesn’t care haha

Blocks are all I care about for streaming tomorrow; do i go with Brandan Wright, Jusuf Nurkik, Terrence Jones, Miles Plumlee, or Ed Davis? Thanks

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@dom: Between Nurk and Ed Davis for me, I’m probably going Nurk. Suns and Rockets I think both go small in that game, and don’t trust minutes, I’d go Nurk

Still pretty new to this fantasy basketball but with the help from Razzball having a solid showing in my second year.

Thinking I may need additional Threes, but not sure I can drop with hesitance. I have been trying move players all season but the league isn;t very receptive to trades…

10 tm league. what players should I look at trading away (well trying to at least), here are some FA available ranked by yahoo performance over last 14 days, any appealing options here?

    Thanks a lot. seriously ALOT

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Jay: Yeah I like Pit-Pat too. He seems the only really reliable source of 3s on that list. Clarkson is tough to not have unowned.

Matt Barnes playing pretty well and hitting treys makes him tough to lose, I don’t like having to do it, but I would lose Dieng for Patterson. Sure Pek could get hurt any time, but the minutes right now are tough. Although, if you can wait until after tonight (Pek likely benched), I would do that. Any time man!

      • Jay says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: ok that was my original thought too, but dropping a dude who has performed so far this season had me worried. but without the minutes, he loses some value. Just have to hope that no one notices and watch Pek like a “cyclops with a monocle” for that injury.

Who would drop to add Clarkson? or shoudl I take clarkson over Pit-Pat

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Jay: Hah cyclops with a big monocle, Dieng would be money again sans-Pek. For your needs, I think I’d have to leave Clarkson out there of if a lot of teams are trading see if a 2-for-1 deal will work.

Another thing to consider – if you’re in H2H and this week is only the mon-thurs games before the break, you could drop Barnes to get 2 games of Clarkson if you’re in a tough matchup. Long term i might not do that, but Lakers have Tue/Wed games

  23. Nikko says:

My trade offered to me is now my Butler, Pau and Horford for LBJ, Markieff and Lowry. I feel like I’m giving too much. Especially since it is a 10 man points league.

whats up guys? finally took the lead in my league after a dominant 8-0 victory this week over a playoff team. trying to position myself for the playoffs now. no one has been biting on any of my Favors and/or T. Chandler + Jack offers. What do you thin of this offer:

Favors or Chandler for Blake? Owner is on the playoff bubble and i wouldnt be shocked if Blake is back shortly after the allstar break…

    rest of my team is:
G: Lillard, Knight, Holiday, Rubio, Jack
    F: Durant, Draymond, Covington, Favors
    C: Boogie, Whiteside, T Chandler

@hamtime: 1. Man, Shabazz looked good tonight… Ellington, but barely. 2. Still Plumlee, but barely there as well, I like Davis more short term while Hill is out. 3. Sure, I think so

  26. JoeJ says:
    (link)

Give up my Collison and Gortat for Teague? Already have Aldridge, Ibaka, Whiteside, Sullinger and more at big men and real thin at guard after Curry (Jrue and Rondo on IR)

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@JoeJ: Yeah I think I’d do that, I have enough worry for both Colly and Gortat to do that

  27. ABulldogs says:
    (link)

Is there any possibility of trade for Sessions? I think he is a decent add while Colly is out, but I am just not sure what he can bring to the table once colly is back.

I am mostly concerned with playoff schedules since I pretty much locked down first place in my league. But I feel quite uncomfortable with Ginobili, Mo Will and Brewer, due to their inconsistencies.

Do you think any of Sessions, Schroder, Frazier over any of the guys mentioned above will help me during playoff? You said Frazier for Mo Will. but just wanted to give you a bigger picture. LOL

    Thanks as always!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@ABulldogs: Ehhhh, maybe but his stock has certainly taken a hit since he’s been pretty bad. Kings wouldn’t get much for him.

Hah, yeah I’d go Frazier over Mo Will, the 7 TO tonight were rough but it was against Curry. 10/7/6 is a decent line and I think he gets minutes when MCW is back too. MO Will I just dunno, would take a trade to Charlotte to get me excited. Any time man!

My butler, Dipo and Faried for his Lowry, jefferson and rose? H2h points league. I feel like this should be a no brainer to do. What do you think man?

@Nikko: Yup with Dipo’s bad playoffs it’s the icing on the cake I like it!
