Welcome back to DFS Dunks, playoff edition. It’s me, cousin Timmy, coming at you with the best plays to win your DFS contests tonight. We have a three-game slate this lovely Thursday. All three series are in Game Six. Phoenix, Philly, and Dallas are in the drivers seat with the chance to close out the series tonight. I think two of them do, more on that later. Devin Booker is OUT for the Suns tonight but could be ready for Game 7 if we get there. Donavan Mitchell is nursing a few injuries and the Jazz look like they are ready to join the bus to Cancun after getting blown out by 25 in Game 5. Finally, I think Toronto, even without Fred VanVleet has a good shot to take this series to a Game 7. Embiid is playing with a hurt thumb and had been minimized by Toronto with his usage rate dropping to 24% in Game 5. His usage rate for the season was 37.5%. Ok enough small talk, you ready for some playoff DFS? Let’s get to my favorite plays of the night. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Welcome back to DFS Dunks, playoff edition. It’s me, cousin Timmy, coming at you with the best plays to win your DFS contests tonight. We have a three-game slate of Western Conference matchups. All three series are in Game Three so we’ll see a home-court shift. Luka Doncic is questionable to play after missing the first two games vs. the Jazz. The Mavericks showed us they don’t need Luka to win, with a massive scoring effort from Jalen Brunson. Utah and Dallas are tied 1-1 as are Memphis and Minnesota. Golden State has a 2-0 lead on Denver and it doesn’t look good for the Nuggets. An important difference in playoff DFS is minutes. Teams really tighten up rotations but can make major shifts after each game depending on matchups. Ok, you ready for some playoff DFS? Let’s get to my favorite plays of the night. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Welcome back to DFS Dunks! Today marks the final regular season Thursday Night DFS Dunks edition and the 23rd for the season. The NBA play-in tournament begins April 12, so we’ll be looking at either a showdown or very small slate next week. I’ll have you guys covered through the playoffs as small slates and playoff showdowns are my specialty. The past week has been wild. We’ve seen a few 25-point comebacks, we’ve seen guys off the street play 40+ minutes for the Thunder, and most importantly, we saw the Lakers get eliminated from the playoffs. “We Beat LA” is my go-to Celtics t-shirt. Some of tonight’s games are meaningless for the standings (only two games left on the schedule) so we may see some silly lineups (Lakers) and players get ruled out before game time so make sure to pay attention to the news. Ok, let’s get it!Please, blog, may I have some more?
Welcome back to DFS Dunks! I love Thursdays because I seem to do well when I write this article. Last week we had a single game showdown but luckily we have a more substantial NBA slate tonight with five games on the docket. We have three games with spreads of five points or less, so there’s hope that our fire plays won’t get PUT OUT by a BLOWOUT. The big news tonight is that Giannis Antetokoumpo and Khris Middleton are both out for Milwaukee, yet they are still favored by 9.5 points over the Kyle Kuzma-less Wizards. Ja Morant is OUT. DeMar DeRozan is OUT. Lots of value tonight, let me tell you which is the best! Let’s get it.Please, blog, may I have some more?
Welcome back to DFS Dunks! My first Showdown article of the season so this may be a little different. March Madness started today and the NBA did the wise thing of scheduling only one game tonight. Lucky for us they picked the Pistons and Magic, two teams that have already been eliminated from playoff contention and are vying for more ping pong balls. This is the fourth meeting between the two teams. Detroit leads the season series 2-1. The best part about this Showdown? Injury tags! So many of them! Don’t worry, I’ll go over some if this, than that scenarios so you are prepared for whatever is thrown our way before lock (hopefully not after lock)! Please, blog, may I have some more?
Welcome back to DFS Dunks! Thursdays are the best and tonight in no different on a small two-game slate. Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Joel Embiid will see each other on the court for the first time since the big trade. Philly has not lost a game with Harden on the court and Kyrie is coming off a season-high 50-point game. Unfortunately, we can’t roster all four on DraftKings, but the salaries do allow for it on FanDuel, if you want. In the nightcap of the double-header, we have Steph Curry and the Warriors facing off vs. the frontrunner for MVP, Nikola Jokic. Wow, what a great night of basketball.
Since there are only two games tonight, I’m going to play a cash lineup and a GPP lineup. I’ve been playing only one lineup lately for both. I will build my GPP lineup as I would a showdown lineup, possibly leaving some salary on the table or fading a guy like Stephen Curry. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Welcome back to DFS Dunks! I love Thursdays because I seem to do well when I write this article. Last week I finished 3rd of 1,800 entries in the DraftKings $2 Elbow Shot. The prize? $100! When you 50x your entry fee you sleep pretty well. It’s important to stay humble though because if you don’t, you can lose your money real fast. I discussed this on the Son Pod this week. You can listen to it here. When you do hit big, go and celebrate the moment because it may be a while before it happens again. Have a beer or six, buy yourself a jersey, do something, but remember to manage your bankroll when then next slate comes around. Ok, let’s keep the momentum going and get to tonight’s analysis. Please, blog, may I have some more?
We’re back! Wow, that was a long All-Star break, almost too long. I actually had to spend time with my kids (kidding, not kidding). I did enjoy the All-Star game and played a few Showdown lineups that hit the cash line. Unfortunately, I did not roster Stephen Curry, who displayed one of the best shooting performances I’ve ever seen on his way to 50 points. Curry is playing tonight vs. a depleted Portland team but he is pricey. I like Steph tonight but my favorite play is Devin Booker. Book’em Danno (Hawaii Five-o reference)! I’m ready to get back to the grind, are you? Let’s get it.Please, blog, may I have some more?
Hey now, you’re an All-Star! Yes, I’m talking to you. It’s time to pat yourself on the back for a successful DFS season so far. If you were a losing player and now break even, if you were a break even player and are now profiting, if you just absorbed the strategies we’ve talked about and feel like you’ve learned something regardless of your current bankroll, you are succeeding. Yes, it’s nice to win every night but in this game the odds are against us. I trust you have been able to use these strategies to improve your process this season. Tonight is the last slate before All-Star weekend so let’s go into the break with some extra cash in our pockets. Please, blog, may I have some more?
We made it to one of my top five moments every season, the NBA trade deadline. Yes, that’s today, and paying attention can be crucial for DFS success. We already saw a few exciting trades go down this week with CJ McCollum moving to New Orleans, while Domantas Sabonis (played for the Kings last night) and Tyrese Haliburton traded places. Hopefully we’ll see some big names move cities, but any trade, big or small, will open up minutes for the leftovers in tonight’s games. Some teams will be shorthanded and we should have a ton of value to choose from. Since I’m writing this early in the day a lot may change so make sure you consult the blue bird before locking in your lineups tonight. Okay, on to the show. Please, blog, may I have some more?
It’s thirsty Thursday again and I got that green juice for you. Today we have a mini two-game slate with two MVP candidates in the spotlight. In game one, Joel Embiid is facing off vs. the Lakers who are at full-strength now that Anthony Davis is back (played 35 minutes on Tuesday). Then we have Steph Curry facing the Timberwolves who are fourth in pace of play this season. Since there are only two games tonight I’ll be playing just one lineup for cash and gpp contests. We’ll need to find one or two players who will be less than 10% rostered in order to take down a gpp on small slates. I will list my favorite options below my core plays today. Let’s get it!Please, blog, may I have some more?
Good morning! I’m still sweating from last night’s 13-game slate. Heading into the fourth quarter of the Denver vs. Clippers game I thought first place was locked-up in two GPPs. I was ready to go to bed a relaxed, happy man, and what happened? Overtime! I had a few pieces from that game, but not the right combo to take it home. Nikola Jokic almost hit the century mark recording 93 Draftkings points! I had him. I also had Will Barton but needed Aaron Gordon. Gosh I really don’t like Aaron Gordon. One of the most frustrating DFS players ever. Anyway, I finished in 6th place out of 1,500 entries good for 35x my entry fee. A nice little profit. On to tonight! Please, blog, may I have some more?
