It’s the time of crazed shopping for discounted electronics. The argument: “At that price, I couldn’t afford NOT to get it!” will be heard all around the country over Turkey leftovers this weekend. I give to you the Buy/Sell shortened holiday edition, free packaging, 70% off, this weekend only! And with that in mind, here are a few guys you can’t afford not to get:
Buy:
Jordan Farmar PG
You got up late, you’re one of the last to the mall, cursing the excessive turkey and alcohol consumption, and you’re scrambling for points, treys, steals and the odd assist. Well, the basketball gods are smiling on you, because although he’s one of the last in the sales bin, Jordan Farmar is still there for you. In the last 2 games, he has hit 8 3pts, with almost 5 dimes per game. He’s only owned 9% of leagues. It’s not a perfect choice, but that’s what you get when you sleep in, mutton-head!
Nick Young SG
“But Dan, I need a Laker, but I ain’t got time for dimes, rebounds, assists or blocks!”, you say. Easy there, cupcake, I got you. Young shoots. That’s it, anything else you get is gravy. Get it? Turkey Day?? Gravy? Bah hahahaha… sorry, I’ve already started drinking. So if you need 3pts, shooting %, or points, that’s what you get. He scored 26 points, along with a board, a dime, a swat, and a steal, with 4 3’s. In the last 5 games he’s scored 18 points per, 2.5 3pts, and shot for a good percentage for a volume guy, at 46.3%. And his nickname is Swaggy. Seriously, I swear to god, it makes him sound like he should be in a Bieber boy band. The douche is strong with this one, but he’s only owned in like 20% of leagues, so take the good with the bad.
Andray Blatche PF, C
Let me first say, that while I disliked putting Nick Young up in my article, I am absolutely disgusted that I’m including Blatche. He is a douche of the highest order, if not king, than certainly of deserving some royal title, like prince, or duke. Hey! “Duke of Douche”. That’s good. But, while he mean mugs in his profile picture, Dray has been the best Brooklyn Baller in the past week. He torched the Raps with 24/5/0/2/2, then followed it up with 14/8/3/2/2 against the Lakers. He is worth streaming while Brook Lopez is out.
Goran Dragic PG
Like I said last week, I will endeavour to try and predict who is worth buying and who should you sell. And Dragic, (which is about the best villain name out there, it should be in a Rocky movie) is, IMO, one of the most underrated PG’s in the game. He has to succeed the Point position to Eric Bledsoe, but with Bledsoe out, he has been killing it, going 22.6/4.2/9/.8/.2. So if you have an extra big you want to move for quality, take a look at Rocky’s next nemesis.
Sell:
Martell Webster SG, SF
If you own him, you’re gonna tell me that he’s hot. I know. But he was due to lose value with Trevor Ariza coming back, but then Bradley Beal went down, and is expected to be out for another couple weeks. Now is the time to make good on a guy playing over his head.
Al Jefferson PF, C
The big dude is back for 3 games now, and he’s producing reasonably well. But I don’t think he will ever get back to his dominant status he enjoyed in his early years. Maybe I’m wrong, but history is on my side. He has cache, though, so try to use his decent return-to-action numbers, and flip him with another piece into a better, younger version of himself, like, say LaMarcus Aldridge, or a Nikola Vucevic, if you can pull it off.
