The trade deadline can get a bit crazy and to further complicate things, games can be underway when some trades are leaked to the public. A video has surfaced of such an instance, where a Heat fan informs the Miami bench about the Jimmy Butler trade.
You can see even from the thumbnail the range of emotions of the bench guys, with Jaime Jaquez anxious, Tyler Herro eager and Kevin Love perplexed. I liked the video so much for the genuine reactions that I wish this was the go to way of announcing a trade to the teams. Just pick one lucky fan sitting behind the bench, tweet him the trade details and start rolling the camera. Absolute cinema.
Regarding last week’s suggestions, I hope you followed the Matas Buzelis advice, as he was owned only in 15% of Yahoo leagues but has been top80 in the last 2 weeks with further room to grow. Staying with the Bulls, Ayo Dosunmu was also serviceable and should continue to see steady minutes, while on the Sell front PJ Washington is unfortunately injured so his trade appeal is diminished.

Max Christie: Who could have predicted that the most impactful player for the Mavs in the Luka – AD trade would be… Max Christie. With Anthony Davis getting injured, again, it has been Christie who has a very positive impact for Dallas, averaging 32 minutes, 17 points and 2.8 triples since the trade. He also passes the eye test, playing with confidence and contributing on defense with his length and lateral quickness. He may not be starting yet, but he is playing starter minutes so scoop him up from the waiver wire (30% owned).
Donovan Clingan: Deandre Ayton is injured, Robert Williams is questionable so it should be an open buffet in terms of minutes for Donovan Clingan, if he can keep his fouls in check. He has immense rebounding and blocking potential so we do not leave him on the wire, at least until Ayton gets healthy again (22% owned).
Toumani Camara: The Portland Trailblazers continue to pump minutes into Toumani Camara, who is in fact inside the top20 in playing time for the last 2 weeks with 36 minutes per game. During this span he is also averaging 7.7 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 0.9 blocks along with respectable 1.4 triples and percentages. He is not a league winner but he seems like the perfect complimentary piece to boost those categories while hurting only slightly in points, so give him a look if he is still on your wire (35% owned).
Kostas love reading the articles. These pick ups you recommend are great fkr deep leagues. Smells like ayton might be out for the fantasy year. Any recommendations we should target going down the stretch that might be on the wire?
Thank you for the kind words Ron. Yes Ayton seems out for fantasy so Clingan becomes must own.
Apart from those mentioned in the article, I would keep my eye out for the teams that don’t play for anything or teams full of injuries. Some random names that come to mind with under 25% ownership are Caris Levert, Zacharie Risacher, Alex Len, Moses Moody but also stay tuned in the articles, as I will keep mentioning those kind of players every week.
Since most leagues have gone over their trade deadlines, all the articles until the end of the season will focus on waiver wire pickups and not on trades, so you should find some interesting names to scoop up.
Please pick top tow off this list that you would roster for the stretch run:
Grimes, Simmons, Keyshawn, Dinwiddie, Strus, Barnes, Kispert, Dunn
Not a very exciting list of players. I think I would pick Strus for some guaranteed but mediocre production or Grimes in case the minutes he is getting after the trade stick long term.
Simmons is interesting after such a good debut in LA but there is little chance that he plays back to backs.
