Throughout the years in the NBA we have seen a lot of weird injuries, both on and off the court. However, I would have been very curious to see what the injury report would have been in the following case with Rudy Gobert in this week’s game with the Hawks.
When you look at it the second time it was the Hawks’ Mouhamed Gueye, only in his 3rd appearance for the season, that was uncomfortably close to the falling piece from the jumbotron. Thankfully everyone evaded it and the game resumed, with one less air horn nozzle but with everyone intact.
Regarding last week’s suggestions, Kel’el Ware is rolling and is inside the top40 in per game value for the last week, while Jaylin Williams had a good run that stops now that Isaiah Hartenstein is back. Finally, it was not a good week for Nick Smith Jr with low minutes and output, so he moves a little bit further from the standard league radar for now.

Spencer Dinwiddie: Spencer Dinwiddie has quietly shouldered the load from the injury absence of Luka Doncic and despite the return of Kyrie Irving his fantasy production continues to be relevant. During the last 2 weeks he is averaging 12.5 points, 2.1 triples, 3.7 assists and 1.6 steals and that is a good benchmark of his expected value, until Luka returns (22% owned).
Vasilije Micic: Although an official announcement has yet not been made regarding the severity of LaMelo Ball’s ankle injury, we can assume that he will miss the upcoming games for Charlotte. Enter Micic, who played 33 minutes in the game Ball exited and was the starter the last time he was unavailable. In his 12 games in the starting lineup, Micic is averaging 11.7 points, 5.9 assists, 1.9 triples and 3.3 turnovers so give him a long look if your team needs an extra playmaker in the short term (4% owned).

Naz Reid: Minnesota are looking much better these days and the improvement of Naz Reid has been a factor for them. Despite starting the season slow, he has been excellent during the last 2 weeks and is making 3.4 triples, 17.6 points on 55.4% shooting. While I like his real life value and I think he is an integral piece for the Timberwolves, this hot streak is not sustainable, especially in the 3pt department. His value currently seems like at a season high so I would try to capitalize before the eventual cool off.
Intrigued by Strus and Jerome so rostered them this week. Cavs have their share of blowouts and injuries so took a whirl. Jerome’s FG% is impressive giving his shot chart. Anyway, here is my squad and WW. Any moves to make? Context: 12 teamer, first place comfortably so can be patient.
WW: Jovic, Rozier, G Allen, L Ball, Dinwiddie, McConnell, Ochai, C Wallace
Team: Jokic, J Allen, Duren, Ware
Jal Williams, N Powell, OG, Strus/streamer
Book, Maxey, FVV, Giddy, Ayo, Jerome
IR: Draymond
Jerome can be pretty hit or miss so I’m not sure he is must roster in 12teamers. Sure use him for now, but be prepared to drop.
Since you are comfortably first I would start focusing on the 5-6 categories you are strongest and act accordingly. For example, if you feel you are strong in AST and STL I would be tempted to further enhance them with Ball. Your goal is to have 6 categories that you are almost sure to win at the playoffs.
I hear you. The tricky part is my main competitor matches up great with my squad. He gave me my only loss this year. He beats me in threes, blocks and turnovers. I win on Assists, Boards and Steals. Points, and shooting percentages are very close. My rankings:
FG%: 1
FT%: 7
3’s: 5
Reb: 2
Asst: 1
Stl: 1
Blk: 4
TO: 11
Pts: 1
I am looking hard at playoff schedules and trying to weed out inefficient shooters. Thought about moving Draymond once he gets back. Fingers crossed Ware is not a mirage.
Shooting percentages is a hard category to predict for a single week, because of thr variability but the Joker is agreat insurance there.
Those are some impressive rankings though for sure. Let’s see how the season continues!
I traded away Draymond for Keegan. Need threes and scoring and have an abundance of assists so I think good for both teams. Am I reaching to think a new point guard might unlock him a bit more? I have Dray, OG, FVV, Powell and J Will out so fingers crossed on health.
I like that trade. You don’t lose much and Draymond has been less available than Keegan. Not so sure Keegan’s numbers change dramatically with a new PG, but even if he stays the same I like it.
I don’t understand the Kings in this deal. They already have plenty of offense but no floor general or stopper. Unless there is another move to be done, I see them losing a lot of 130-120 games. Monk, LaVine, Sabonis all subpar defenders. Ellis doesn’t look ready. What am I missing?
It all depends if Lavine can handle the PG role, or at least appear somewhat competent in it.
I agree it does not look good but I think they were trying to both get back draft picks for Fox while staying competitive.
They were going to lose Fox in free agency regardless.
Been offered steph curry for my Bam. It’s a 9-cat 12 team league. Normally I’d say yes but Steph’s numbers haven’t been great lately. What do you think?
In terms of value it is a very difficult offer to reject. I can understand the concerns, but I would do it to be honest. The reward is too great.
