Did Jusuf Nurkic forget how to play basketball? Is Sexland a real place? Should I trade Deandre Ayton for a bag of chips? Why is one of my Balls having performance issues?

SugarShane and I will be calling into Son’s podcast tomorrow evening to talk all things fantasy basketball, and to answer all your questions. Here’s your chance to hear from some of the most prolific cash league players around. It’s not gambling, it’s a game of skill damnit!!!

Post your questions below in the comments section, and we’ll discuss them on the pod. Remember, context matters so make sure to tell us your league details.

Do you wanna play a game? Of course, you do! Unlike a certain puppet game show host, I won’t penalize you with torture and pain if you don’t get the answer right. Interested? Read on.

As you may know, I have 32 teams and counting this year, so I make a lot of deals in my leagues. Here is your mission, should you choose to accept it. I want you to look at the deals below and guess which players I received, and tell me which side won the deal.

I’d love to hear your unbiased opinion, and some logic and reasoning too if you feel so inclined. I give a lot of feedback on people’s trades, so I think it’d be fun to turn the table a bit. I have a lot of fun poking holes in people’s teams, so here is your chance to get me back!

Feel free to throw in your own deals for comments too if you want. Just for context, all my leagues are 12-team 9 cat H2H on Yahoo.  Here we go!

I hope you all had a good Christmas. We can all agree that the NBA starting up again was the best present of all! I was glued to the TV on Christmas Day and it was magical. As per usual, if you have any questions for Shane or me please post them below in the comments and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Remember to give us context and your league details since that’ll help us better understand and give you better answers. To get the conversation started, here are some naughty and nice observations from week 1.

So I did a nice value picks list last week, and it was good for about a day until Yahoo decided to update their rankings and pretty much took away all the value on my list. Well played Yahoo, well played. I actually do think the Yahoo list is solid now that they tightened up their rankings, so I will be focusing on the value that you can find later on in the draft. Here is a list of guys I’m targeting after pick 100 in 9 cat H2H leagues.

We are just days away from the start of the NBA season, and you’re probably neck-deep in drafts and trade discussions at the moment. I had the idea of doing a live Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Youtube, but unfortunately, I have a face made for radio and a voice that makes babies cry. So I thought I’d try an AMA session this way, where you can post your questions in the comments below, and I’ll reply as they come in. This will be useful over the next few days as you go into your draft.

Who doesn’t love a bargain? I do sincerely believe that the folks at Yahoo do some good work with their rankings, but every now and again they undervalue players.  This is when you swoop in and scoop up the bargains, since the pre-draft rankings will more or less determine the order in which players are drafted.

Here is my list of players that I am targeting this year, since they will undoubtedly outperform these rankings. Note that this list is geared towards 9-cat H2H leagues.

Another week down and the hits just keep coming. I cringe every time I look at my phone and get a notice, since it’s almost always bad news with someone breaking a bone or getting poked in the face. Why are these guys so fragile? Someone get them a glass of milk or something! Nonetheless, the leagues must go on. Here’s how the RCLs are shaking up this week.

What a wild first week it was! Players were dropping like flies and no one knows what to do with Deandre Ayton! Each week I will present a list of players who can be picked up from the waiver wire in order to help ease the pain. Note that I will only list players who are widely available at the time of writing, so that you actually have a chance of getting them.

Even though the Suns finished dead last in the Western Conference last year, and last in the entire NBA the year before that, they’ll always be first in the hearts and minds of fantasy owners everywhere. Their score first and play defense later mentality is fantasy gold, and this year is no different. There is reason to be optimistic this year though, with the arrival of Ricky Rubio and the emergence of Kelly Oubre. The Suns finally get their true point guard to distribute the ball and a veteran mentor for the young guns. Booker is looking healthy (for now) and Ayton should take a big step forward. I love the Suns when it comes to fantasy, and I have a sneaking suspicion they won’t be that bad in real life either.

Are you a competitive fantasy basketball player? Perhaps you’re looking to dive into the Yahoo Pro Leagues, or throw your name into one of the many cash leagues advertised on Reddit or Rotoworld? Maybe you’re in a very competitive league with your friends and need to win for pride?

Having played fantasy basketball for many years (since Elton Brand couldn’t buy alchohol), I’ve accumulated knowledge that I wish someone imparted upon me. Below are nine concepts that provide a road map for fantasy basketball success. Hopefully, I can save you from making some of the mistakes that I made.
