Summer Leagues are upon us and the recent draft class has already left their mark. Jayson Tatum has been an offensive revelation, Donovan Mitchell has displayed his potential on both ends of the floor, and Markelle Fultz has shown the offensive skills that we’ve been drooling over, although he still showed glimpses of defensive naivety. Bam Adebayo has dominated in the paint and surprised us with some big offensive numbers, while Jonathan Isaac has flashed potential, but confirmed that he is still a project.

Yes, Summer leagues matter. Every point, assist, and turnover changes the perception that the other owners in your dynasty league have on players in the pool. But, let’s not delve too much into summer leagues yet.

Wow, how quickly time flies. Feels like only yesterday when I was sitting here bringing you my Top-60 dynasty league rookie rankings and awaiting the new season with excitement, optimism, and hope. Yet, here we are again looking to delve deep with our diving masks and oxygen tanks to dissect the new crop of fresh-faced hopefuls looking to be the next big thing.

It is no secret, to those of you who have read my previous work, how high I was on this draft class. Now that we know the the destinations that this crop will call home, we can delve deeper into expectations for each players’ role with their new organizations. In the upcoming three weeks you will be privy to my Top-60 rookie rankings, but for now, let’s look at some of the players who might have landed themselves into a new dream destination.

I am sure you have read enough articles over the past several weeks covering Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball. Dynasty Deep Dive: The Week That Was

Welcome back Razzball Nation, to yet another edition of Dynasty Deep Dive on your Superbowl weekend. I hope the week has bought you more joy than I am currently having, being housebound with the worse pain imaginable from my back, currently making me the Brandon Roy of the fantasy basketball world. But unlike that of the aforementioned, hopefully I can bring a little cheer to the future of your dynasty team and not leave you hanging like the former all star did back in 2012; the show must go on.

So what of the week that was? Well, we are starting to see a little shape starting to take place with some of last year’s draftees getting some more run (ala Ivica Zubac, Jamal Murray, Timothe Luwawu and Thon Maker), things starting to settle down from the hype that was Malcolm Brogdon, and a two week period to forget for Brandon Ingram, who averaged just 5 points (over 25 mpg), and shot an ice cold 22% from the field averaging just 11.8 makes in 8 attempts over that stretch (not to panic though, there are better days ahead).

So what have I got for you this week? Well, we will be taking a little look at those whose draft stock has risen over the past week, for all you draft pick hunters, in the world of college basketball.

The weekend is here Razzball Nation, and you know what that means – another dose of prospect talk from across the pond from yours truly. With February nearly upon us, we are getting closer to crunch time and the madness that is March, with the NCAA tourney that will no doubt bring the usual feast of shocks, standout plays from the best college has to offer and disappointment for my Baylor Bears.

So what of this week? If you tuned in last week, you would have seen my updated rankings for 2017 NBA draft eligible players (and if you missed out then no worries, you can find it easy enough here) and as promised, this week brings you a Bird vs Bird style column (as stolen from one of my esteemed colleagues) of my top 2 candidates, Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball.

Welcome back to ‘Dynasty Deep Dive’ Razzball nation!

Well what a week it has been in the world of fantasy basketball. Hopefully you are not reeling from the news this week on the injuries to Chris Paul and Rudy Gay (Guess who drafted both in their RCL listener league) and scouring the wire for potential replacements. I saw my Baylor Bears gain the number 1 spot in the nation, only to lose it in a week after a devastating loss to a super impressive WVU (Yep, I called it a few weeks back). On the bright side, boy did my boy Jonathan Motley bounce back with performance of the week against the Texas Longhorns with a superb display of 32 points, 20 rebounds (7 on the offensive end), 3 blocks and a steal.

What’s up Razzball nation? All is well I hope over the pond. Talking of across the pond how about that game just 50 miles north of me in London between the Pacers and the Nuggets on Thursday? Who could have predicted that blowout. Us Soccer, Cricket and Rugby loving Brits still are not sure what to make of Basketball, and despite the efforts to capture the heart of my beloved country I have to be honest and say that it all seemed a little flat compared to the International series we get from the NFL. Never the less, one thing that will never change is my own passion for BBall and I will continue to fly the red,white and blue in supporting British. European, College and NBA basketball.

Second half, here we come guys. No doubt those injuries will start to mount soon, a trickle of trades will happen and those teams already out of contention will be looking to blood some youth, investing court time to some of those young assets (as well of course as unofficially tanking, unless you are those sorry Brooklyn Nets who have little to tank for).

So which young guns might be of benefit in fantasy land in the tail end of the season? Well let us take a look at some potential candidates:

Dynasty Deep Dive: Turkish Delight In Search Of Some Double D’s

Here we are again Razzball Nation, welcoming in the New Year with with another diet of College Basketball talk with a side helping of Euro ball to help wet our appetites, whilst helping trim our waistlines after some over indulgence of guilty pleasures over the holiday period.

So what of the NBA week we have just had? well for a starter course we saw 24 year old rookie Malcolm Brogdon post his first triple double of his young professional career New Year’s Eve with a line of 15 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds on a resurgent Bucks team; for our main course we saw the first ever 50/15/15 line in NBA history when James Harden finished his 2016 with a remarkable 53 points, 17 assists and 16 rebounds; and staying on the triple double theme, for dessert a timely 2nd triple double of the season for Julius Randle on Tuesday, just days after writing about him last week (posting 19 points, 11 assists and 14 rebounds).

Happy weekend Razzball nation, and on the eve of the new year I thought I would bring you something a little different and closer to home for a change. So what is your New Year’s resolution in fantasy? Maybe you have promised yourself to be a little more patient and not to panic by week 3; maybe you have decided not to overvalue shiny young toys; or maybe like me you have decided not to write off 30-somethings in the NBA for your fantasy team. Whatever your New Year’s resolution be sure to check out all the good work from my cohorts here at Razzball nation to help guide you to the same level of success we all enjoyed in 2016.

Dynasty Deep Dive: A Fortunate Seduction For Future Fantasy

The holiday season is here Razzball nation; a magical time for all and especially us NBA fans. Presents, Christmas dinner, time with family, and if you’re lucky some time to feast on a bunch of ball whilst digesting a drink or two. Fantasy football season might just about be over, but hoops is really starting to heat up and 2017 promises to be one bumper hamper for fantasy basketball fans.

So what do we have look forward to in 2017? Well for one the appearance of number 1 overall pick Ben Simmons and the promise of PG duties for the point forward; an MVP race where from a fantasy standpoint just bewilders the mind; and of course an upcoming draft class that is touted as one of the best freshman classes for a long long time.

Seems like only yesterday that the basketball season got underway, but damn, we are already fast approaching week 9 and nearing the halfway mark of the fantasy regular season. Ok maybe not significant news for you, but I return after a 2 week hiatus in which life turned itself upside down and got uglier than a Byron Scott rotation attempting to play the pick and roll; and what better way to return than once again putting on those oxygen tanks for a dive so deep that not only will you be needing those oxygen tanks, but may also be in fear of being diagnosed with the bends.

Now diving deep is not everyone’s cup of tea of tea, and of course some of you readers will be thinking ‘dude, these guys are years away’, but as a basketball purist who follows the game globally, let me guide you through my specialist subject and through some of the most talented players playing their trade in Europe who will be draft eligible in 2017; after all, it never hurts to stay ahead of the game and knowing who those rising stars of the future are. Especially given the mystique every year of those unknown ‘toolsy’ projects who do not grace the floor in the NCAA.
