We’re back with a brand new edition of the Razzball Hoops Pod as we move to weekly episodes!  On today’s show, we hit on the incredibly somber news of former fantasy stalwarts in Milwaukee and Miami and the opportunities their absences create, then commence our yelling about my Top-75 and Top-100 ranks.  Only minimal quibbles, we need more quibbling!  I hope to hear from a lot of you commenters about Slim’s thoughts on Denver’s frontcourt…  Here’s our latest edition of the Razzball Basketball Podcast:

@PHIL: No question Giannis. I think Oladipo is a lock. Oh and there’s Westbrook! Yeah those are your 3.

    Great podcast as usual!

Nurk/Jokic- I have both (along with Gary Harris) in my Turd Nuggets team. I’m in agreement with Slim with the minutes 1st half/2nd half. Not the rankings. I’m in the camp that Malone experiments with Nurk/Jokic lineups even for just 6 mins in the beginning of the season.
As for Nurk- 12-15/10-12 with 2 assts, 1.5 stls and 1.7 blks. FG 48ish and FT 65ish but high TOs. Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s kinda close to Nerlens Noel prod’n last yr? Nurk slightly better in pts and FT. 2-3 reb/g higher. But Nerlens going to shoot better. Where did Nerlens end up in ranks last yr? Top 60/65?

Question on Twolves and I only thought about this last night. Thibs’ Bulls teams (if i’m not mistaken) ranked near the lowest tiers in terms of pace. Anyone thinks he does the same thing in Minny or will he play to the personnel he has?

@jay: forgot to mention that Jrue has been designated as INJ in yahoo…which i don’t think is right fwiw.

@jay: Thanks for listening man! Haha love that team name. Well that’s where I have NUrk ranked! I think 64… So you’re agreeing with where I have him right?

I gotta think he embraces his line-up, and I feel like when Rose was healthy, their pace was way up.

Wowwwwww, yeah that’s weird for Jrue, yeah I remember they had some funky stuff going on until opening night, then it all fixed

        • jay says:

@JB Gilpin: agree on Nurk. Now, if he gets his FT to 70-72 and similar volume an FG up to just about 490-505 then I can see higher. Not convinced on the FG. FT maybe.

I sent a comment to yahoo uservoice to protest that roster eligibility for Jrue!

@jay: Cool, yeah Ft I agree with, and yeah that would exceed my expectation on FG% too, but I think 47ish is realistic, which would still be a hugggge improvement.

Haha, yeah that’s definitely incorrect, hopefully they will fix!

Through lack of understanding of keeper eligibility rules in my first year in a h2h 7 cat (no TOs and FT%) 12 team league I’m going to end up with Lebron and one of Otto Porter, Mudiay or Gary Harris. I’m considering keeping Mudiay and punting 3s, seems like he has the most room to grow but Porter and Harris could definitely both take jumps too. What do you think? I mean Porter isn’t really going to be a top 40 guy with Wall and Beal healthy right??

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Kevin Johnson: Oh Porter is absolutely not going to be that good! Yahoo’s pre-rank of him is abosolue insanity… I would go Mudiay as well, although you definitely need to address FT% with the rest of your draft as well. I don’t think you need to automatically punt 3s either, a lot of your roster still to fill up

Why is Jrue not IL eligible? Yahoo lists him as Injured.

(assuming he is designated INJ, I’d take him everytime in the 90s if all the lower ADP sleepers are already gone).

@Saltyman: I don’t have a good answer for you haha. They use a data provider and who knows… Agree, this boosts him on draft day a tad, but as I mentioned above, I think they’ll fix it around opening night. You’ll have him stashed there, but be unable to make waiver moves

I need a replacement for Jrue. Who do you like for the short term (hopefully)

I have them in this order:

    Bayliss
    Frazier
    Dunn
    Delly

    What do you think?

    Thanks!!!

@Mike: I would go Frazier first I think, since he directly correlates with the Jrue missed time. Those top 3 are close, I’m not huge on Della D

I my keeper league I am planning on keeping Karl-Anthony Towns (4th round), Draymond Green (10th round) and Kristaps Porzingis (12th round).

I have Jimmy Butler (6th round). I was offered a 5th round pick for Butler and my 11th round pick. I have to think that Butler will go in the first 12 picks or so (depending on who is kept by the rest of the league.) So I was asking for a 4th round pick. But doesn’t have one because he is keeping a player that round. I hate trading picks, it makes things harder than they need to be, but it’s part of the league. Since I’m not keeping Butler anyway, should I just give him up for the 5th round pick?

    • TheMuppetManiac says:
      (link)

      @TheMuppetManiac:
He just made me a new offer Buter and my 9th and 11th pick for his 5th and 7th picks. I think I might do that. It feels more even to me.

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@TheMuppetManiac: Awesome set of keepers! And yeah, that’s something I always try to do – see if anything I’m not keeping is tradeable. Sure it helps one other team get a little better, but it makes YOUR team better, and you’ll be better against the other 9 or 11 other teams, depending on the size. So yeah, i like that deal for you to improve two picks for something you weren’t holding onto anyway. Nice work!
