My dynasty team has been bad for a while, but I think we might be on the cusp of turning things around. Can you give me some thoughts on this team (FG% FT% 3pt Pts Rb Ast St Blk TO)

PGs – Rubio, Rose, Holiday, Kemba
SGs – Barton, Eric Gordon, Batum
    SFs – Gallinari, Kidd-Gilchrist
    PFs – Faried, Bosh
    Cs – Drummond, Henson

We also have some protected rookies – D’Angelo Russell, Exum, Schroder, and Saric as well as the first pick next year. Clearly a little heavy on PG even with two utility spots. I can’t get anyone to bite on Rose… maybe Schroder – or try to sell high on Holiday?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Nate: It’s def turning around, especially with those rookies and a first pick! Wow def get Schroder for Rose if possible! Ummm, well if Bosh can come back healthy and Faried has a more normalized role you’ll be competitive. I might hold Holiday and if he starts hot next yr, sell high during that

  2. The Gintern says:

Alright guess I’m going Klay if you guys aren’t… I’m sure he’ll have a cool off game after back to back 40 burgers, though

    • JB Gilpin

@The Gintern: Hah yeah I felt like being a little different 🙂 he’s def the strongest call of the night!

Loss the semis with 2 rebs and .001 FT% =(
At least still can make $50 with 3rd place.
Thinking about dropping Canaan and Beasley for either Babbit, Seth Curry, Casspi, Larkin (can’t use today so only 3 games left), Norman Powell. What do you think?

    Thanks!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Poisonous Stuff: Ugh yeah .001% losses suckkkk. Hmmm kinda like Casspi. I have no issue streaming him in for Beasley

      • Poisonous Stuff says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Thanks! What about Canaan for Babbitt or Larkin? Canaan doesn’t play tomorrow or Thursday while Babbitt does, and then stream that spot for Fri/Sat back 2 back?

        • Poisonous Stuff says:
          (link)

@Poisonous Stuff: just saw the news that both Jrue and Gee are out rest of season, just added Babbit for Canaan haha.

@Slim: *2. I knew better than to do this with my phone… I have a few Fri.Sat options I’m looking at but 1 I refuse is to put my championship aspirations in the hands of Patrick Patterson.

@Slim: Why rely on PatPat when you got Sous-Chef Curry coming in hot

  4. Ryan says:
    (link)

Klay for 30 is the easy pick, but I DO NOT want him dropping 30 against me.. so Kyrie it is.

Some of my guys are very annoying to own right now: Vucevic, Jrue Holiday, Dragic, Nurkic, Gay…

The annoying part is that their statuses for upcoming games is up in the air. The last three should be able to play moving forward. I knew Jrue would play because all he had was a stupid blister, but then the dude gets a mysterious eye injury? Feel like I can’t drop any of them just yet because they’re schedules are soooo good this week. Jrue concerns me the most.

I still have five moves to work with, but for now I think I’ll do some shuffling with the stream spots cleared by Zaza and Salah. I need the big stats though so I may pick up one of Capela or Harkless. Decided not to use my waiver on Lance after all of the injury problems. Is it crazy to drop Jrue/Vucevic and use my priority to reclaim them if they are cleared to play? I could stream their spots in the meantime and it’d probably screw with the opposing teams’ streaming plans because they may feel obligated to put in a claim on them just in case I don’t.

Alternatively, I could burn my waiver on Crowder or Henson. It’d be pretty awesome to land Crowder in this deep keeper league, but I doubt he plays many minutes when he returns, let alone both games in the back to back. I need the big stats, but it kinda sucks that tomorrow is Henson’s only light schedule game.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Ryan: Haha nice call! Ugh yeah that’s a brutal group…

If FT% is at all a concern, def avoiding Capela. Harkless I kinda like though. Wow, it’s a deep keeper?! Almost worth having Jae either way! Henson I like too. 5 moves is still a lot, you can nab Henson for tomo then readdress with how your lineup looks next.. Fri? is when he plays next?

      • Ryan says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Yup 8 keeps. I should be able to find a spot for Crowder somewhere in there lol. I really want to win the gold this season though. I’m competing with some very tough cores next year, and this season may be my best bet of winning it all. The last place team will probably get Crowder if I don’t. He has first priority, renamed his team Tanking For Simmons, and has seemingly picked up every injured player with name value the way!

Craaap, Holiday did have an orbital fracture and will miss the ROS. I was thinking Harkless, but now with Vuc also being declared out for tonight’s game.. I kinda think Dedmon could be a good stream tonight vs Brooklyn. What do ya think? I could drop Jrue for Dedmon and then try to add Henson tomorrow.

I think it is a legit possibility that he clears waivers tomorrow with Jrue, Crowder, Zaza, and Richardson all on waivers. Crowder won’t clear til Thursday.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Ryan: Sounds like he could play by Thur too. Damn well sounds like you might miss out either way, but you could try!

Ummm, I see Hark as maybe a little safer, Dedmon more upside. Def like getting Henson.

Damnnnnn yeahth there’s a lot of injured guys to scoop up these days!

I was down by 1 point and tied on boards and would have lost my matchup until Julius Randle grabs a putback dunk with 40 seconds left in the last game of the week to push me through to the finals! Thanks for all the advice this year JB! Looking forward to baseball and using your starter rankings

While we’re on the subject, if anyone cares about my REL team, it looks like Carroll had a setback and isn’t coming back for the regular season. Not a huge surprise I guess. Noel sounds like he’s done, at least as far as fantasy goes this year. Huge blow as he’s easily my best big and it kills me for STL/BLK/REB/FG%. And for reasons I can’t understand Ibaka is being “rested” tonight. This despite the fact that he just finished sitting for rest 5 games ago, and up until today that was the only time OKC has rested anyone this year. WTF? He’s a professional athlete how much rest does he need?

Not a good start to the championship round for me.

    • A Hill O' Beans says:
      (link)

@A Hill O’Beans: And now, not that it should be a surprise but, Derrick Rose is getting x-rays. Starting to pile up and its only Tuesday.

@A Hill O’Beans: Hey, I care! You still have a lot more top 100 players than I do. And I’m shittin the bed in TOs so far. I don’t think it’s going too well for me either right this second.

      • A Hill O'Beans says:
        (link)

@Slim: Thanks Slim! You know there’s something weird going on when I’m leading turnovers for the second week in a row, haha. Is this gonna turn into a battle of which team plays less like crap for the title as opposed to who plays better? I guess it’s still early in the week, things are bound to turn around for us.

  8. Dante Green says:
    (link)

Jeez sup JB! I haven’t gone here for a while! Definitely missed having fantasy-related conversations with ya! Hah So I just read a couple of things about Ibaka and Alphabet today. Serge said he’s frustrated with the lack of touches. He definitely doesn’t like his role. According to him, he plays good defense, but doesn’t get rewarded on offense! Lol so maybe he’s thinking “Fcku it, if I don’t get to shoot I won’t swat shots no more!” Hah If KD leaves this summer Ibaka could go under the radar and have a nice bounce back 2016-17 season, but I still won’t spend a 20-25th pick on him. Maybe in the 35-40 range is just aight!

Kidd said Alphabet will be the Bucks’ starting PG next season. I mean regardless of whether he starts at the PG or not, as long as they don’t bring in another good player, we’re gonna have to take him round late 2nd round, right? Agree or nah? Haha

And mah boy Dbook! But the suns organization is still trash, stupid, clueless and incompetent so saying Dbook is the Suns’ future is an overreaction. Sarver and McDunno will definitely still find ways to screw things up, could be that Dbook gets dealt for Kofous plus cash consideration! Or for the Cav’s 2030 2nd round pick. Lol I just hate those two dumb fckus srsly. So anyway, mannn he’s only 19 but been scoring like crazy… But like I said, he isn’t as quick and athletic as Clarkson, the handles isn’t as great, his height is just weird I mean you wouldn’t know where to place him, is he a point guard or a shooting guard? Still not a per-min monster, but he somehow gets the job done. Gets to the FT line often and has decent % from there, not a volume maker from beyond the arc but still takes and makes em, and has an attack the basket game in him, but d-stats is still suspect tho… But there’s no way he ain’t improving next season! But don’t get me wrong, I’d still take D’Angelo Russell over him! Lol It still depends what moves the Suns will make this summer. If either Bledsoe or Knight gets dealt I think Dbook could be an awesome 60-70ish pick but if that doesn’t happen I wouldn’t touch him until the 90-100ish range… I’m just excited that the Suns have a player like him whom they can develop, nah mean? And I still believe he deserves to start next season. Relegating him to a bench role is just wrong on so many levels after everything he’s shown in the past what, more than 2 mos after Bledsoe went down? Well.. The Suns did that to Dragic after being an Allstar snub and winning MIP in 2013-14 season. They should just keep playing Dbook heavy minutes and see how he develops. The suns definitely have something special in him, I hope they don’t waste his talent.

And onto the last, Andrew Wiggins. We burned a 3rd round pick on him this season… Hah OK, so Rubio is finally healthy, LaVine looks awesome as a starter, and KAT is just a fantasy darling. So what’s left for Wiggins? I mean fantasy wise, LaVine is just the better player. Is there a chance Wiggins ups his game next season? Is he finally going to be the multi-cat guy we wanted him to be? A player who averages 1.5 3s, 1.5 stls, 0.9 blks per game, with at least 5 boards and 3 dimes? Mann I mean KAT is just solid, and his and LaVine’s development will definitely have an impact on Wiggins game next season. The question still remains, can he be LeBron’s Kyrie? Or KD’s Westbrook? Pau’s Jimmy Butler? Curry’s Klay? These duos proved they can coexist and still both be in the top 25 fantasy studs. Can Wiggins do the same with KAT next season?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Dante Green: Well we’re here year round! Drop by any time!

Yeah it’ll be tough to be big on Ibaka, Kanter and Adams I think are still there too…

Hmmm on Alphabet. Probably! Wish he hit a couple of treys…

Completely agree on your D-Book ranges! I would get excited too if one of those guys gets dealt.

Ugh yeah Wiggins was a bust, maybe with some pressure off on offense he can get some D stats like I hoped.

        @JB Gilpin:

Hey JB, we talked about FAAB not too long ago and I said I was going to incorporate it in my league next season. So I know moves are processed in batches, but when’s the best time to actually run it? I’m thinking, I’m only gonna allow 2 pickups per week, and the moves will be processed on Thursdays and Sundays. Your thoughts?

        • Dante Green says:
          (link)

          @Dante Green:

Or in a 12-teamer, is a 1 move per week better than 2? Thanks man!

          • JB Gilpin

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@Dante Green: Oh cool! Love Faab leagues, adds another layer of intrigue. I would recommend one process on Monday instead of Sunday, just so people have the full weekend. I know on Saturday sometimes I’m not able to check in on everything all I want. In REL baseball, my league runs on Mon and Thur. Ummm, I don’t see a big difference on 1 vs. 2, 1 just means more stingy with your $!

  9. patrickindo says:

deep leaguer here; Ajinca, Norman Powel, Dwight Powell, or Seth Curry?

Need points, 3s and blocks. I’m leaning Ajinca or Norman Powel — more towards Ajinca. There is absolutely nobody on the Pelicans right now. and his opponents are better in @SA, DEN, and @BKN, vs Norman Powel’s ATL, @MEM, and @SA.

    What do you think?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@patrickindo: Ah sorry I missed ya til now, slammed with the baseball crossover haha. Yeah I think I like Ajinca too, then you can get some treys later in the week (easier to find)

Woooooooooo Uncle Drew pulled through! I wish I had started making my picks before January. I would have had a better chance of catching Slim if I started earlier.

My team continues to drop like flies with Gibson going down last night. I’m pretty psyched though because Dedmon was a good stream and Henson actually cleared waivers! I’m hanging tough at 4-4-1 despite all of the injuries, but now have only three moves left. I may put in a claim for Crowder if his reevaluation is optimistic. Still too concerned about minutes/b2b restrictions to make the move right now.

    • JB Gilpin

@Ryan: Sick! Nice work! I def wish someone had caught Slim too, you hear how smug he was on the Pod?! Ugh!

Oh nice, loving this late Henson! Agree Crowder is a tough add this much into crunch time.

      • Ryan says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Yeah, I actually listened to the whole thing yesterday. He was all like “do we even need to do this anymore? I already blew everyone out of the water.”

That just fuels the fire Slim. Ya going down next season.

So with friggin Nurkic sitting again killing me…im left this wee with possibly 2 games left from nurkic against NO. SAC. or would you sit him for courtney lee 2 games vs PHI. Cleveland. Im in a H2H weekly league but can make a switch if I have a guy sit like nurick. Right now I’m losing 4-5 in categories. The only cats I have a chance to win are 3’s, ast. , reb. steals and blocks. Right now I am down in steals for the week 6 – 10 and blocks 6-11 and I lead in the other 3 cats ( 3’s, ast. reb. ) so who would you play the rest of the week C. LEE or NURICK…………..???? BTW the rest of my starting lineup is …
    CP3
    Batum
    D. Booker
    rob cov
    Draymond
    Drummand
    bismack
    Dj Aug.
    Pj Tucker

Thank you for your help !! btw with Nurick coming back from a illness do you think his minutes will be limited and C. Lee is healthy getting good playing time.. maybe he is the safer guy to put up those 5 cats that I have a chance at winning??

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@TG: I feel like your roster is better suited for steals, and it’s one closer. Gimme C Lee! I also worry Nurk is handled with such kid gloves that ya never know, even for 2 games haha. Yup agree C Lee is the safer play!

      • TG says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Hey Thank you and I hope you’re still playing for something !!

        • TG says:
          (link)

@TG: BTW Man thanks a ton for the detailed answer I love it. And as we speak the guy I’m playing took out Porzingus for the week because of his shoulder soreness and he played shane larkin in his place so C. lee makes even more sense now to keep up with the steals he will get from larkin.

            (link)

@TG: Yup, got 2 RCL finals and F&F in semis, still a lot going on!

Def agree! Porzy injury hurt me in one of my leagues now, I dropped him, I dunno if he plays again this week…

  12. Lasandro says:

I’ve now streamed J-Rich on two occasions. The first time, he had that 6pt dud. And today? He’s currently sitting at 0-4 shooting with nothing else in 14 fun-filled mins againts the Lakers. Yeah.

I guess I’ll hold this time but I’m not at all happy about it. His game log of late reads one dud, followed by 3 great games, followed by another dud, then 3 great games, and today’s likely dud. Here’s hoping he picks it up in his next set of back-to-backs.

    • Lasandro says:
      (link)

@JB Gilpin: Or do I just drop his ass for Avery? J-Rich was picked up to add efficient FGs to my squad, along with some stellar D stats.. not shoot 0-8. Bradley ay have some nice lines against POR, GSW and LAL in the next 4 days right? Hm, I may have just talked myself into my decision haha. Although I KNOW that Rich will prob put up an 18pt multi cat in his next one, that schlub.. Or would you rather I grab Larkin vs CLE, NY and NOR in his next 4 days?

I’ll likely have made a decision by the time you respond haha. Looking forward to your thoughts either way.

        (link)

        @Lasandro: Ughghghghg yeah that’s rough.

Hah yeah I’m kinda feeling Bradley too, I still think there’s a lil more FG% risk, but yeah J-rich ain’t helpin right now. I’m going Bradley>Lark>Jrich for rest of the week now
