The injury bug hath claimed another victim, with LaMarcus Aldridge suffering a tough fall in San Antonio on his lower back/coccyx. What are you doing to us fantasy gods?! While reports right now is it was only a lower back contusion, you never want to hear “needed a wheelchair to get around the arena.” Unless you’re Professor X! Yikes. As Slim is putting out early this afternoon, the Blazers have a mammoth of a 5-week slate coming up in the second week of the playoffs. So if you’re an Aldridge owner, I would just thank my blessings, or count my lucky stars, or something like that, if L.A. can indeed give you all five of those. In the immediacy, Thomas Robinson looks like an interesting pickup for some flashy upside. “Oh camon JB, Thomas Robinson again!?” Yup! And I said it last time and he had a 14/18/2/0/2 in there! I serious doubt Aldridge will suit up again this week, giving T-Rob some serious run. We’ll obviously get some more detailed updates throughout the day, so sacrifice a shot of rum to Jobu, or rub your bunions against the carpet, whatever you do to appease the fantasy gods to get a healthy Aldridge back for the postseason. Here’s what else went down in fantasy action:Please, blog, may I have some more?
If you have been around the Razzball block, you may have seen my stuff as a regular writer for Razzball Football (along with Co-Host of the Razzball Fantasy Football Podcast with @NickCapozzi) and an occasional contributor for Razzball Baseball. If not, then I say hello Basketball world! I will be taking over the reins as the editor-in-chief for Razzball Basketball (while continuing my contributions to our other fine sports sections) and look forward to making different jokes about the same players. Get ready for numerous Sam Cassell looks like E.T. references. Please, blog, may I have some more?
You’ve heard it elsewhere but hear it again here, Kevin Martin is now on the Oklahoma City Thunder and James Harden and his beard are now with the Houston Rockets. Also in the trade, Jeremy Lamb goes to OKC and Cole Aldrich plus other guys head over to Houston. Please, blog, may I have some more?
I think it’s obvious that I am big on Demarcus Cousins. Looking back, I should have ranked him #1. No, not above LeBron James (who had 20 points and 5 assists, FYI) for this season. I meant #1 all time. Better than Jordan, Magic or Chamberlain. Please, blog, may I have some more?
Houston’s Chase Budinger has averaged 30 mpg in the three games since Thursday’s trade deadline. In that small sample size, Budinger has averaged .516/.850, along with 2.7 3pg/21.7 ppg/5.3 rpg. I don’t need to tell you how outstanding that production is from a player owned in fewer than 25 percent of fantasy leagues. Please, blog, may I have some more?
