If you’re like me, you’re afflicted with the “March Madness”. And you love it. It consumes your every thought, much like the image of Sophia Veraga and Christina Hendricks, in nighties, you know, doing sexy things to each other…

Fun fact: the busiest day for booking vasectomies is the Wednesday before the beginning of the Tournament. So the snipped one can lounge on the couch all day with a bag of frozen peas on his mutilated nethers and take in 12 hours of frenzied basketball without being bothered by his lady. True fact, look it up. What I’m getting at is although you may be in the midst of your fantasy playoffs, we’re all too occupied to watch the hours of NBA required to give in depth analysis at the moment, as I have bag of peas on my junk. Metaphorically speaking. And I expect you to be a gracious partner and leave me to my tournament, and would it kill you to make me a sandwich?

Too far? Fine, here’s a smattering of add/drops:

Buy:

Josh McRoberts PF
The air in Charlotte must be much better than in Orlando. Or L.A. Or Portland. Maybe being close to Duke again helps?
Whatever it is, he is producing, and is owned in less than 4% of leagues. In the last five games, he’s averaging 12.5 points, 9.6 boards, 3 assists, 1.5 steals, and a block. Almost as important, he hasn’t averaged less than 30 minutes each game. He won’t score a ton, but you could do worse for boards, blocks and steals. And he has a killer beard, so he has that going for him.

Martell Webster SF
Martell has been getting a healthy dose of latin loving, because his long balls are on fuego! (sorry, that was poor.) He has capitalized on Ariza going down with an injury, and Beal getting re-injured; in the last 7 games, he has hit an average of just under 4 3Pts per, and averaging 19.1 points, 3 boards and 2 dimes per! Muy Caliente! (sorry, sorry, that was the last one)…

Reggie Evans PF
My man Reg won’t give you much variety. He brings the same thing in his lunchbox each and every game: Rebound sandwiches. A ton of them. He pulled 22 boards down on Wednesday, the 2nd time in 3 games he has yanked more than 20, and for the 3rd time this month! And he has gotten 10 or more rebounds in 11 of his last 13 games. A smattering of points and a block here and there, but you better be hungry for boards.

Watchlist:
There is news that Tony Parker is participating in 5 on 5 practice drills, and may play as soon as Friday. If anyone was foolish enough to let him go, snap him up! To be fair, I thought he was going to be out for the duration of fantasy playoffs too, don’t feel bad.

Sell:

Elton Brand PF
Elton was playing very well at the beginning of the season, but like his knees, his game lacks explosiviness. Homeboy has averaged 5.2 points and 3.2 boards. Sad to see the good guys fade away onto obscurity.

Dion Waiters SG
Dion isn’t performing wasn’t, he’s just injured, which is a shame. Based on what info I’ve been able to find, he has some loose cartilage in his knee. He’s being prescribed a week of rest, then some further inspection, which could result in arthroscopic surgery. I would consider dropping him, if you need the roster space.

Al-Farouq Aminu SF
He’s averaging 5.5 points this month, and while he will get you rebounds (7 per), and steals and blocks here and there, he’s distant, doesn’t appreciate you, and I think you can do better.

    Hi Frankie,

Rose and Chandler are both big fantasy risks right now, in the thick of playoffs. What will they produce, even if they play? I would try to get either Reggie or McRoberts, as they likely will produce better than Chandler, as he has a bulging disk, last I heard. Rose is also a big gamble at this point. Is Parker available?
Console yourself with the fact that Okafor is playing better… Good luck!

Think I’d be worth it drop Derrick Williams for Alan Anderson after tonight? Also pondering dropping Mullens for Hansbrough.

@Daniel N.: I would consider picking up Tyler hansborough. Alan Anderson just came off a career night, and the raps don’t really have any other scoring options at the the 3 (Landry Fields??) I would just be prepared for up and down game results, with the up not being as up as Friday’s performance.

        @Dan A.:
Thanks for responding Dan. I did pick up Hansbrough but dumped him for Ed Davis after last night’s performance. I like him to pick up the slack with Gasol out indefinitely with a torn ab muscle.

I have both Vucevic and D West on my team.. both are injured and killing me int he first week of playoffs. Vuc supposedly has a concussion, and D west is unknown. Are they droppable?

    • Dan A

@Mike: it would depend on, like the other 2 commenters here, whether or not you have a bye this week. I would also reserve judgement until I know who is available. If it’s for scrubs, those dudes will always be available on the wire. If it’s for talent, I would have to consider it. Update me on who you’re thinking of going for, and I’ll give you a meaningless opinion on what you should do. But like my man Oprah says: “follow your heart”.

      @Mike: 2 things:
      1) I read both comments quickly, I’m away on business, reading from my iPhone, and just realized you already said that you were playing, not on a bye. So dropping one of them would be necessary.
      2) as I said below to Aaron, which he pointed out, I think Tyler Hansborough is a good pick-up. I would probably drop D west to do so, but check every single day on his progress. Less desirable big man pick ups, but good in a pinch: Nickola Pekovic, if available, or Jonas Valanciunas, to stay in the Baltic states offerings.

Should I drop Kosta Koufos or Dorell Wright for Tyler Hansbrough? 12 team H2H with a bye this week and a playoff match up starting monday.

@Aaron: I hate basketball players sometimes. I write something about Kosta not wanting to take it in the pooper, And then as soon as the article is posted, he bends right over and drives straight to Browntown. He has had a great run there, but his last two games have been sub par. Tyler Hansborough is playing very well filling in for D West. It’s a good swap.

Gonzaga out. Well, at least I don’t have to watch any more madness, as my bracket is totally ruined. Couldn’t make it out of 32?? As the French say: piss poor.

Morning bro… H ey I got A problem and of course it’s a day before playoffs!! I got 3 guys on Denver and they only play 3 times next week.. Don’t know if you think I should keep brewer or not cause I have to bench him on Wed cause all 14 of my guys are playing that day? I got Ty lawson out still? Derrick Rose still not in, maybe if u tell me to drop him I’ll wait half way through the game tonight to see if he goesin? I also got george hill fighting this groin thing. Hopefully he wont go on injury next week. UGHHHHHH That was alot. Lol

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:

@Frank Lynch: I feel for you. That’s a lot of your guards on alert. As to dropping quality players because they only play 3 times, I’m not a fan of that. Don’t over think it.
Rose is looking more and more dubious, I hate to say it. See if he plays tonight for sure, but also see what guards are available. Also realize that the injury bug hits all fantasy teams, so other guys will also be forced to make last minute decisions, so don’t over-react. I would also decide who to drop by order of the severity of injury, meaning how long will they be out, not necessarily how talented they are.

  8. Frank Lynch says:
    (link)

Yo Rose aint playing tonight but the next time the bulls play is Wed against the heat.. I put so much time into him that I think I should maybe wait till wed..

  9. Frank Lynch says:
    (link)

Thanks for the advice!! Hey Rose didn’t play again. Idk maybe he’ll pop up on Wed at home playing the heat or do you think he would’nt play the first game against a team like that? The team i’m playing has marc gasol out so were even but idk what to do

  10. Frank Lynch says:
    (link)

Hey Jerryd Bayless is on waivers.. he’s playing awesome. last couple games 22points and 30.. should I grab him? if so then for who? Brewer or Rose?

  11. Frank Lynch says:
    (link)

morning buddy.. I’m winning 8-3 but its close. Tonight will be huge cause everyone is playing for both teams. Good thing I picked up some good guys but I gotta bench George Hill and Ty lawson cause they’re both not playing Wed. Even if they plus Rose stays out the whole series then we’re still even with games just about cause he still has marc gasol out and he had to drop martell webster cause injury.. Idk if I should chance it or do you think these injuries gonna be a bit? Theuy actually said they wanna keep Lawson till he’s fresh especially for playoffs.. I have no idea what to do. What would u do?

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

      @Frank Lynch: Morning.
I have no clue when Rose will play, sorry. He’s supposed to be ready now, but isn’t. Where does that leave you? Browntown.
I hope you nabbed Jerryd Bayless, because you’ll need him, if Ty, Derrick and George are all down. Rose, although the one with most talent, may be the one you have to drop, as he’s the most difficult to read. Or drop a forward, like Brewer or Gallinari.
Guy who have been hot lately: Jerryd B., Smith (knicks), Jeff Green, Birdman (heat’s Anderson) all worth considering. Really, though, if you have lost all those dudes, you need 3Pt and assists, look to your waiver for PG help. Good luck!

  12. Frank Lynch says:
    (link)

Dude your the man!!! Good looks.. Yeah I got Bayless yesterday and I dropped Brewer for him. Gallinari I can’t drop cause he’s been there the whole year and helped get me here.. The good thing is I got A like 2 days to wait for Hill n Lawson cause 14 out of 14 guys are playing tonight so I’m benching, Hill, Rose, Lawson and Kevijn Martin so I got a day or 2 to see how long they will be… The players I just picked up r doing pretty good like Reggie Evans, Tobias Harris and Bayless.. Good thing Jameer Nelson is putting up points n assists like my top players

  13. Frank Lynch says:
    (link)

Jeeshh!!! They just posted that Rose will not play tonight.. I’m thinking of picking up Jarett Jack for him or who else out of the 3? Jack, Chalmbers or Ben Gordon?? I think I would just need more in points first then others right? IDK!!! I’m just scared of if I drop Rose then he, knowing my luck, would start playing games and If I win this series then the guy I’m playing in the championship will pick him up.. I know I sound crazy but thats my luck..

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Frank Lynch: So if you’re ok for now, I would still hold onto him, just because it depends on how you finish tonight, you’re not forced to move if you’re still way up.
The thing is, there’s no right way to do this, both options suck the high hard one. If you’re looking for PG’s, how about Andre Miller (while Ty is out) Nate Robinson, Mario Chalmers, (he’s been killing it from 3) or Jarrett Jack.
There is a very distinct possibility that Rose is not of fantasy relevance this year, so don’t worry about it too much.

  14. Frank Lynch says:
    (link)

Morning bro,, Yo all the guys I just picked up went insane. T Harris – 29-9-6 n two 3s Reggie Evans- 22-26 and Bayless- 24points 4 3s awesome.. I’m up 7-4 but anything can happen.. Reddick has been dissapointing and I’m really not sure about Rose so I’m thinking J Jack for reddick? What u think?

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Frank Lynch: Chalmers over Jack, Mario is on a squad that is killing it, 27 game win streak, they’re sharing the ball, and he’s getting his touches.
If Mario’s gone, Jack isn’t a bad pick up at all, mind you, I just like Chalmers better.
