Right now, Kings games from here on out can be perfectly embodied by a The Ben Stiller Show skit.  Such an underrated show (couldn’t find the clip on Youtube, it’s too old!).  Andy Dick is on the bomb squad, gets to the bomb, then starts doing ridiculous things while the 10 seconds counts down that take a lot longer than 10 seconds…  Cooks lunch, changes a baby, shizz like that.  All the while the countdown clicks down unfathomably slow, until it’s at 1 and blows him up.  Man, it’s hard to describe things when there’s not a video for it!  3rd Century problems…

Well, losing a quality PG like Darren Collison in the second quarter never helps (abdominal strain – getting an MRI today.  Good thing he’s not a baseball player, he’d be out two months!), but the Kings are a bigger failed experiment than that prison Stanford thing after getting bludgeoned by the Dirk-less, Rondo-less Mavs.  Too many good players to be this bad!  Boogie turns it over too much, Gay isn’t working next to him, and the abyss that is the starting PF can’t be all to blame.  At 17-31, that’s NOT how the West was won…  Gay and Cuz make a lot of dough, but Colly playing this well on a 3-year $15 mil deal is starting to look mighty tasty to potential suitors.  If he gets through this ab MRI with nothing worse than a “nice six pack” prognosis, I think it’s about time to sell.  Of course Derrick Williams would be nice to dump, and, well, anyone else not named Ben McLemore (who is taking a nice step forward) would be awesome for SAC to kick out.  A nice kick in the SAC is what the Kings need!  Here’s what else went down last night in fantasy hoops action:

Jason Maxiell – Sheesh, the dude’s got like a 5-inch vertical but no one can get past him!  7 blocks in an uber-fluky 11/8/0/0/1/7 games.  Mad Maxiell!  Not touching him Beyond Thunderdome.  I bet he could scrap his way into some wins to appease Tina.

Lance Stephenson Hit a couple treys early, which might be a bigger anomaly than Maxiell’s 7 blocks!  11/2/4/0/0 with 3 TO on 4-11 shooting.  Such a waste of money…

Brian Roberts – Gets a little street cred from me after taking this screen and still playing 38 minutes!  DeJuan Blair with the hit stick! Got a nasty shiner, but he’s so boring.  12/3/5/0/0 only hitting 1-7 from deep (5-13 overall).  He dribbles the ball up and can’t create anything.  Didn’t take any art classes in school!

Gerald Henderson – Can’t stop Hendo!  Hit his first 6 shots for 13 points in the 1st, ending up with a 27/4/1/2/2 line.  It was solid if you played him in daily for some reason, but me no buy!

Cody Zeller On a grade scale of A-F, his performance was a Z last night.  0/5/1/0/1 with 5 fouls in 23 minutes with 3 TO.

John Wall Getting battered and bruised like an old fried banana.  15/3/13 was solid enough last night, but only 2 Pts in the second half and I still worry some DNPs will come down the road.

Bradley Beal And to make things worse for Wiz fans, Beal left early with soreness in his toe.  What is it lately with toe injuries?!  Just lop those things off, they’re not important!  Doesn’t sound too serious…  And he’s already said he hopes to play tomorrow.

Matt Barnes – The key to the Clips!  Got ejected with two techs after 24 minutes in a Clippers blowout.  The refs are anti-tattoos!

Kyrie Irving Took a backseat in this one, kinda like the whole Clippers lineup.  Burn!  10/6/4/0/0 with a trey.  Saved all the energy for D!

Kevin Love Nice bounce back game from the Love Machine for 24/9/3/0/0.  Bounce back as in, first time scoring 24+ in 12 games.  It’s been no bueno!  “I don’t work for nobody OR you!”

Timofey Mozgov Ya know, for as much as Slim and I have made fun of him, looked decent out there for 12/9/2/0/1 in 28 minutes.  “Looked decent” as in “not a scub-fest at the eye level.”  Still hit only 2-6 FT.  Blah.

J.R. Smith 5 steals and 4 treys and not much else, but that’ll work!  I never would have thought moving to the Cavs would give him 2.5 more points and double his steals…  They needed him for his D too I guess!  Wait, I thought that’s why they got Iman Shumpert

Al-Farouq Aminu Talk about defense!  Started for Dirk Nowitzki (rest, and the DNP concerns are here!) and almost rainbowed in the first half.  Barely played in the 2nd half in that absolute rout, ending up with a 2/4/1/2/3 line.  Only hit 1-6 from the field as he still struggles with O, but to stream some D, he could be useful.

J.J. Barea 15/3/5 hitting a trey in 32 minutes.  Looks like it’s his job to fill Rajon Rondo‘s shoes!  They’re like, 6 sizes too big, but ya know.

Charlie Villanueva – Looks like he hasn’t kicked the Charlie bucket yet!  Still shoots it every touch like an oversized Swaggy P, getting 25 minutes of 8/8/2/0/2. hitting 4-14.  Missed all his 6 attempts from deep, and when Dirk is back it’ll be back to DNP fests.

DeMarcus Cousins Piles it up again for 23/11/3/1/2 and piles up the TO again with 6.  Tick tick, tick tick…

Rudy Gay Louder ticks!  11/9/4/1/1 hitting only 2-13 from the field.

Nicolas Batum The ups and downs of Batum this year!  Luckily last night was an upper for 20/4/7/1/0 with a couple of treys.

Robin Lopez Ughhhhhh!  Noooooo!  11/12 with 4 blocks.  But 50% from the FT line?!  Unacceptable!  Told you he’s awful!  I keed of course, looks like he can be useful.  That said, Chris Kaman was out with a back issue and could siphon some minutes again like earlier in the year.

Alex Len Rolled his ankle.  Ruh roh.  Injuries have been an issue for the big fellah, especially the kankles, so it might be a few games at the least.  Even so, neither of Miles Plumlee or Brandan Wright interest me…

Streamers/Cheap Daily League Picks:

Alan Anderson (2% owned) – The Nets have an endless supply of ThrAGNOF SG, that’s for sure!  Went 22/5 with 3 treys last time out, and while his minutes are anything but consistent as the starting 2, this should be a fun, gun-slingin’ matchup against the Knicks.  Battle for NY!

Dion Waiters (40% owned) – I know, I know, I usually go a little bit deeper than 40% owned, but Waiters is likely to draw another start with Kevin Durant out with toe jam, and off two good games filling in I’m going for three straight if he’s out there.

Thanks for stopping by Razzball Nation, and good luck over the weekend!  Catch ya Monday morning!

Should I be looking to move DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay? I have them both and as much as I love me some Cousins, it’s just sad that this franchise is looking like this because of something that should have never happened in the first place. Not saying that Coach Corbin is bad… HE IS AWFUL. BLEH.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Loler: Haha, nah I think both those guys are locked in. Unless you have good bigs and TO prone PG then I could see maybe moving Boogie.

  2. Lasandro says:

Durant. Why? At least play bloody 15min out there – nothing but set shots

Love the roundup as always JB!

Shouldn’t we be looking to sessions or mclemore to get some run and as a stream for Colly?

As well, lookin to buy real real low on KD and maybe cousins. Any concerns?

Last one – target to trade Mozgov for? Don’t want that schedule!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Wutang: Thanks man! Ummm, ehhh not much of a change for McLemore. Depends on injury severity, but yeah Sessions for maybe 1 or 2 games I could see using. Nah not a big concern for either. mozgov for rolo? Might be too late there…

  4. Guile says:
    (link)

Hey there, Jrue Holiday was just dropped in my league. Would it be worth dropping Hibbert, Augustine or Oladipo for him? (Probably my 3 worst players). FG, Assists, 3’s are my worst cats, I’m top 3 in the other 6 cats. Thanks!

    • J says:
      (link)

      @Guile:

      I would hold those players

      • Ryan says:
        (link)

@J: Idk can you trade Dipo? I think he has some good trade value in keeper/dynasty leagues, but I like Jrue wayyy more for your needs. The Pels don’t have a great playoff schedule, but Orlando (and Cleveland) have the worst schedule possible. I think dropping Dipo for Jrue will really help you in the playoffs. As far as stats go, I think Jrue is an upgrade in almost every category over DJ Aug and Home Dipo. However, Detroit has an awesome playoff sched (4 gms/wk) and Orlando has that awful 4,2,3 schedule… so that’s why I’d strangely opt to drop Dipo over Augustine.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Guile: Since the big man stats seem good, hibbert is my first drop, but man, tough to drop anyone

Hey guys, 14man H2H league, choose 2 to own out of the following: Clarkson, Roberts, Mirotic, Devin Harris, KOQ, Brooks

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@John: Without knowing needs I’d keep those first 2 PG

      • John says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: I’m not that strong with assists, my only PGs are Rio and Holiday. With Holiday injured, assists have become even more of a a punt most weeks of a H2H match up. There’s not much upside to my team, which is why KOQ and Mirotic interest me (noting that they would need an injury to move up the pecking order). What do u think?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@John: Yikes yeah PG do look like a punt. i might want one though to maximize your games played if you have PG designation in your league. Both PF are so low minutes though… Tough to take them, but interested to see how Magic run the rotation tonight

    Few questions for you…

    1. my Favors and tyson Chandler for Danny Green?
    2. my boogie + tyson chandler and/or Favors for Anthony Davis? Would then grab Middleton + Nurk/Gobert /T Jones
    3. Just got offered Carmelo for Tyson Chandler— i know Melo probably gets shut down, but Chandler isnt that much to give up. im leaning towards no unless you say otherwise

    its a 10-teamer, 8-cat league:
G: Lillard, Knight, Holiday, Rubio, Jack
    F: Durant, Draymond, Covington, Favors
    C: Boogie, T Chandler, Whiteside!

thanks dude. appreciate it as always…

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@Shaft: 1. Nahhhh way too much. 2. I like either of those! Hope to move Chandler first. 3. Yeah probably not, Melo seems to be on borrowed time haha. Any time!

      @Scott: I’d probably rather Bradley

  9. Nikko Respeto says:

Up $9 so far haha. Got 2 lineups that I would appreciate some advice for in the DFS

    1) Westbrook, Burke, JR Swish, Kevin Martin, Andre Iggy, Kawhi, Montejunas, Lou Amundson, Deandre

    2) Westbrook, BUrke, Waiters, Alan Anderson. Leonard, PJ Tuck, Jason Smith, Davis, Nurkic.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Nikko Respeto: Nice! Burke is a good buy if cheap. Like Waiters and Anderson obviously as above haha. Def would pay premium for Whiteside, big men torch the Spurs!

  10. Joe says:

In a 12-team, 9-cat, h2h keeper where we keep 3-5 at a (“one round higher than acquired”) penalty, someone offered me the following. I’ve put in the round each player got drafted, so to keep them go one above that. Waivers cost the lowest available draft slot.)

Their Kyrie (2), Jeff Green (7), and Jrue (4) for my Teague (4) and Whiteside (waiver).

I’m leaning no because while Kyrie may well be keep worthy at a round 1 price, Whiteside at a bargain basement price is awesome, and Teague may just be worth a 3rd round pick next year. But my team does lack some depth, and the wire is picked clean. I’m currently 5th place. Thoughts about the offer or counter?

My team: Teague, Lin, Calderon, Brewer, Allen, Ariza, Redick, Barnes, Pierce, Favors, Ibaka, Love, Vala, Humphries, Whiteside

His team: Barea, Ellington, Jrue, Mayo, Galloway, Clarkson, KCP, Kyrie, Crawford, Hollis, J.Green, Horford, LMA, Zaza, Pekovic

PS. I bet you never thought I had another team, one without MCW! I do, but I had a bad draft night, so I try not to talk about it.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Joe: Nahhhhh I’m not doing that one. green is a schlub and Jrue’s injury rick scares me too much. I like Whiteside as a keeper and manning down the fort of your bigs. Haha no MCW, wooooo!

  11. Ryan says:
    (link)

What do you guys think Shabazz Muhammad’s role and minutes will be like once he comes back from his injury? Rotoworld reports suggest that he’s going to get plenty of run because of Minnesota’s terrible record, but I never trust their reports…

Also I’m trying to get Milsap in a keeper league. I’m talking to his owner and he seems to like a trade of Milsap for my Dieng, Tyreke and Ryno. I think that there isn’t enough waiver wire depth out there to make this work for me this season. I may counter with the same deal except he has to give up both Pierce and Milsap. Thoughts?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Ryan: Well our friends at Rotoworld are usually pretty good, to me it comes down on trading KMart. Which they will try hard to do but ya never know.

Yeah in a shallower league I like that deal! As long as it’s no penalty for keeping gives you a core guy

  12. patrick says:
    (link)

damn i just traded for collison… collison for mcw.

it’s safe to say that even under a possible reality trade, my trade is still fine right?

i remember slim mentioning probably Gay would be shipped out, collison’s contract size and talent will warrant him staying.

what are your thoughts on this?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@patrick: Yeah I’m still good with that one! Helps out %s a lot as long as your counting #s are fine.

My feeling is Collison is easier to trade and would bring more. Less negotiating with logistics of a big deal. And with the Kings THIS bad, they might sell the easier options for more picks

  13. hanns says:

who’s better ROS dj agustine or rubio? I got wall so I want to sell one of them.

    • Bye Felicia says:
      (link)

@hanns: why would you sell one if you only have one other PG? I want 4 or even 5 PG on my teams. PG’s are valuable commodities. Especially ones with high ast +steals and 3’s . I wouldn’t move one if you only have 3 rostered.

      • hanns says:
        (link)

        @Bye Felicia:

In our league 2 or 3 is plenty. it’s a 12 man h2h league with 9 active and 5 bench. I also have b.knight and other guys like draymond and ariza who chip in assists so I’m good in the assists department.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@hanns: Def like Rubio ROS and think his value is still a little deflated I’d trade augustin first

        • Lasandro says:
          (link)

@jb Gilpin: worried about this recent report that flip may sit Rubio on back to backs? I bet pretty Ricky would hate that, considering how fiery he’s been seen returning

sitting in 2nd place 1 gm back after 14.5 weeks and aft being in 1st for 12 weeks.

have gone 14-20 in last 4 weeks total. still 73-50 overall.
    12 team, 12 player standard H2H league

    would anyone make this trade?

    trade away
    Monta Ellis
    Paul Millsap

    acquire
    Kevin Durant

I would prefer to do Monta Ellis & Kief Morris for Kevin Durant but we are still negotiating.

Thoughts w re to KD ability to stay health ROS vs moving such solid (non superstar) warriors like ellis, millsap /kief

    respect

    PS my team is;

    Wall
Walker (speculative add for playoffs, was dropped)

    Ellis
    Matthews
    Stephenson
    McDaniels

    Pierce

    Millsap

    Kief

    Gobert
    Len

Hey JB, I got offered this trade. Should I take it?

Demarre Carroll, Al Horford (His team) for Luol Deng, Kyle Lowry (my team)

10 man H2H, on my roster is:
PG: Lawson, B Knight, Westbrook, Lowry, Pat Bev, and MCW
    SG: Ben McLemore, R Covington
    SF: Deng
PF: Thaddeus Young, Kevin Love, Jordan Hill, G Monroe, Kanter
    C: Mozgov

    • Phreek says:
      (link)

@Phreek: And would you drop Ben McLemore for Avery Bradley?

      • Bye Felicia says:
        (link)

@Phreek: man yeah I would. You need a boost in FG % and boards. You’ll lose hardly any assists Lowry vs Horford. Plus Horford has the best ast/to ratio outta all big men. You are losing fg% now right?

The other one is apples & oranges in my opinion. I’d ride the hot hand.

        • Phreek says:
          (link)

          @Bye Felicia:
I am last in fg% as a matter of fact haha. It does seem like a good trade. Thanks for the advice Felicia!

            JB Gilpin says:
            (link)

@Phreek: Yeah I think it’s a good fit for you too, normally I wouldn’t give Lowry up for that, but you have good AST depth. Agree with Felicia, riding hot hand of those SG, probably McLemore most of the time

  17. Dante Green says:

@Dante Green: Haha thanks man! Ahhh well is out tonight, but still think sell when he’s back. MIght have to wait until after ASB, we’ll see

      • Dante Green says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: yea, I’d probably do that… But I gotta ask u tho, is there a chance that the Kings sit DMC the rest of the season after ASB? Clearly they won’t make it to the playoffs.. But DMC’s owner is open to trading his players(he’s sitting last in our league), including DMC, and I got players to send his way…

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Dante Green: Ummm nah I mean if DMC is getting sold like a bottom end 2nd rounder I would def buy. Cuz gets so hulk angry on the floor, imagine what he’d do if they say he’s getting sat?! Haha

          • Dante Green says:
            (link)

    Slim says:

Shh… don’t tell anyone but I’m very interested in Tim Frazier. I’ve got about a dozen guys on my DLeague watchlist and he was near the very top. He isn’t a 3-pt shooter but his poor FT% last night should be an anomaly. If he gets lets say… 30 min then he should give about…

    .410/.770/0.3/12.0/4.8/6.2/1.3/0.1/2.7 :30 min

He ruptured his achilles tendon his senior year at Penn State after a spectacular junior season, All-Big Ten 1st team (Media), 2nd team (Coaches), and All-Big Ten All Defensive team. I’m not too surprised his redshirt senior season wasn’t up to par considering the nature of the injury, which explains why he went undrafted, that and he’s already 24. I have a lot more on this kid. It all boils down to this, he’s got a chance to stick and be helpful for fantasy. That and he couldn’t have found a better situation.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Slim: I like Frazier too, I think he can be a better Wroten minus a little scoring. I dunno about the 30 minutes though, but the pers seem about right

    Hey JB,

what do you think about Dennis Schroder in palyoff?

Will starting members get DNPs? If so, will Schroder have a bigger role during playoff weeks?

Thinking about picking him up for playoff roster.

    Thanks

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Abulldogs: Ehhhh, I mean I like Schroder, but I would guess only 2-3 starts at best. If it’s a shallower league I wouldn’t be too big on stashing him

  21. No holiday JRUE says:
    (link)

Would you drop jrue holiday in an ultra competitive 12er. He’s my only injury on the team currently. My team consists of:
    Trey Burke
    Danny Green
    A. Wiggins
    Kawhi
    Ibaka
    Ariza
    Cousins
    Bogut
    Barnes
    Giannis
    Jrue
    Covington
    Gobert
    Melo
Someone dropped Lance Stephenson and with their current injuries I was thinking of picking him up and dropping jrue or barnes. Would you hold both?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@No holiday JRUE: Nah I wouldn’t get Stepheson, I am not a big fan at all. %s are so bad for a smattering of assists. I would hold

Hey JB, someone in my league wants me to trade them gobert for Joe Johnson and was wondering what you think of that trade?
Rest of my team (10man 10cat – DD and min – no TOs)
    Curry
    Gay
    Millsap
    Lowry
    Favors
    Sullinger
    Gobert
    Markieff
    Rubio
    Collison
    Beal
    Noel
    DJ Augustin

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Dally: Whewwww, DD obviously to Gobert, but minutes as a stat for JJ… I imagine he thinks JJ could get traded and kill the mins. I’m so anti-JJ I would prob hold, kinda looks like you could use the big man stats more

      • Sam says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: I’ll stick with gobert then cheers! Also do you think I should pursue a giannis for collison trade to try get those big man stats, or do you think alphabet will cool off?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Sam: Ohhhh definitely getting Giannis. I’m worried Collison’s attractive contract will make him a sell for the Kings
