School for us is back tomorrow, which means that the past two weeks were spent keeping the kids gainfully occupied. (Teachers, man, you guys are the best! Oh, my regular job is also a teacher!) But everyone needs to figure out ways to get, you know, alone time. So, in lieu of ranking teams and writing up two weeks of inactivity by me (more below), I’ll place the teams in tiers according to the best ways of sneaking in alone time during the busy holiday season.

Hey Dallas, did you overlook your opponent just because they were 1-9? Was it because they were the Orlando Magic? Was it because their best player this year, Paolo Banchero, was out for the game? You only scored 87 points against a very inexperienced team and 53 of those points came from Spencer Dinwiddie and Luka Doncic. The bench depth as a whole has been a weak point for the Mavericks this season. Outside of Christian Wood, players such as Dwight Powell, Reggie Bullock, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Maxi Kleber really haven’t been producing for them.

The Utah Jazz are the most interesting team for fantasy heading into the 2022-23 NBA season. It is a team on the downswing with plenty of veteran players to trade and young players to develop. Not to mention a talented few players who are gonna get a huge usage rate boost. The tricky part is determining which players are which, who’s gonna thrive, and who’s not gonna get any playing time at all.
Please, blog, may I have some more?I’ll be honest, my original plan was to have this piece written and published at the end of last season, back when the failed chase for the top spot in the RazzJam was still fresh in my mind. But the NBA season is long and the Playoffs are so good, so when I fell just short of a championship, it seemed just fine to me to put this on the shelf for a bit. So, I sat on this with it being 95% completed and rested instead. Then Middleton went down and the Bucks got beat. The sun came out, the Celtics ran out of gas, and another Golden State summer onto my shores like a warm wave, even though I’ve traded in the Bay Area for Bay View.

Might as well still be Halloween because it was monster box score madness on Monday. Two players in the 20s for rebounds, several triple-doubles, and one very confusing win streak. Let’s dive right into it.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Beef Stew is running away with the starting 5 job in Detroit as the season winds down. Casey has been resting his vets in Plumlee and Ellington and as a result, Stewart has been feasting. 8 blocks in his last four games alone, to go with an average of 14.25 boards in those four outings. He’s going to make a huge difference in fantasy playoffs for those who foresaw the downfall of Plumlee.
Please, blog, may I have some more?The kid is playing so well, he got an endorsement from the HoFer whose nickname he co-opted! If that’s not a statement in and of itself, I don’t know what is. I’m the biggest Carmelo stan there is, and the fact that he cosigned LaMelo reflects how brilliant of a kid the Hornets got. Top-50 fantasy player on the year, and he’s only going up from here.

As usual, with the trade window opening, Drummond has been involved in a flurry of trade rumors, most recently with him projected to go to Toronto. I don’t know much about the Canadian market, but I do know if that trade goes through, stocks are going through the roof.

Bradley Beal: Bradley doing Bradley ish. Helped guide his club to its fifth win of the year against the sputtering Heat. His laser shot sets up his savvy drive so well this year. The 5 turnovers hurt a bit, but he’s the only alpha in the nation’s capital.

Everyone’s favorite Ball brother narrowly missed consecutive triple-doubles. The defensive stats are there, too. Now if the shooting percentages could come up a tick, LaMelo would be an early-round asset. Who would’ve thought?
