Merry Thanksturkey day Razzballers!
I would like to start by saying, C.J. Miles is a god. Period. No, you are not allowed to argue. He’s an inconsistent god, but a god nonetheless! He is unowned in 56% of Yahoo leagues. SHAME ON THOSE LEAGUES!!! Yes I’m league shaming, and no, all the social activists out there can’t do a thing about it!
Not a whole lot has changed in terms of pickups lately, but a few names have stood out in the past week:
- Ish Smith – PG – 51% – Ish is tearing it up this year, and I have no idea how it’s happening, but he does need to be owned until he cools off. 17 points, 5 boards, and 9 assists in the past week. Weirdly enough, he’s outplaying Jrue Holiday, and playing 31 mins a game right now. Own him!
- C.J. Miles – See above!
- Matthew Dellavedova – PG – 11% – Until Mo comes back, he’s a must own. He still should be very ownable even with Mo back, but Kyrie‘s return is starting to loom on the horizon. Grab him now if you need some short term help in assists and 3s.
- Rondae Hollis-Jefferson – SG/SF – 10% – The king of cheap multi-cat production. Plus, this week he averaged 3 steals a game, to go along with his solid rebound and point totals. Definitely making a case for himself as a pickup.
- Dion Waiters – SG/SF – 18% – An uninspiring pickup, but he has been stealing the ball at a solid clip lately. OKC also needs his offense badly, so not the worst option.
- Jerami Grant – SF/PF – 10% – Another solid multi-cat guy with solid blocks totals (averaging almost 2 a game on the season.)
I’m going to leave it at that for this week’s edition, but next week I’ll write a full version featuring the trades you post in the comments below! Submit any trades you want analyzed, or just to show off the steal you got!
If you want last-minute waiver advice, follow me @RazzWired for pickup info in between articles. Be sure to comment here for questions, but feel free to hit me up for waiver or trade advice on that account as well! Once a week is too long for pickup advice, so definitely follow that account if you’re in a competitive league! I’ll tweet more frequently as it gains a following.
Have an awesome Thanksgiving everybody!
What do you think about a Ryan Anderson for oladipo trade?? Who wins in 8 cat without turnovers ? Maybe some analysis as to why?
@Jon: why is no one answering me 🙁
@Jon: Sorry brotha, you got stuck in the spam filter.
@Jon: Oladipo, no question. He’s simply the better player. I love Anderson, but he’s performing at his peak and that’s a lot without Davis. Oladipo, on the other hand, is a solid early round value at full strength. There are some questions with Skiles in Orlando, but Oladipo is far and away the better multicat guy. Anderson is still a 3s and points specialist for the most part.
1. My favors tjones for Hayward nurk Middleton?
2. Most droppable – RHJ, mo, pbev, nemanja
@Hamtime: Trade looks pretty fair, the winner depends more on stats needed.
Beverly would have to be most droppable still
Drop StanJo for Lawson, Nurkic, Olynyk or Stauskas?
@Tyler: Drop him for Lawson, I just can’t believe he’ll be waiver wire all year.
Hey man…joining a daily fantasy contest for the first time on Friday. Who should I pick for Friday for max production? Thanks!
@123: I haven’t looked at individual values yet, but based on pace, I would avoid players in the Memphis – Atlanta game and target players in the Spurs – Nuggets game, as well as the Warriors – Suns game. Pelicans – Clippers should also be a solid game to target. Probably Eric Gordon in that game. Good Luck. Hit me up on twitter @RazzWired and I can show you my lineup for tomorrow night’s game when I get it set.
@123: My lineup is posted on twitter btw.
Is it time to cut bait on one (or all) of Joe Johnson, Bjelica, and Bogut? Here’s who I’ve been eyeing:
Bazemore, Nurkic, Dwight Powell, JR Smith, Joffrey, Calderon, RHJ…..
@Fella: And Marcus Smart!
@Fella: Hold Joe, but cut the other two for Bazemore and RHJ. Worst case, Joe J should still have some trade value.
i dropped Illysova for Darren collison.
do you think good idea or bad? should I pick back up illysova ? he is like a roller coaster 20 pts one game 0 pts the next
@Michael:
btw 9 cat roto
lineup as follow
pg: damian lillard, ish smith, Darren collison, elfrid Payton
sg-sf: jimmy butler, Eric Gordon, will Barton, Robert Covington, danilor garllarni, Giannis antetekumpo, Jerami grant
Pf-c: Roy Hilbert, nerlens noel, Greg Monroe, andrew bogut,
My team is quite deep right now , I am ranked 3 and 4 on a 12 team league but I am getting killed in FG%. Ish Smith completely saved my assists this year. Do
@Michael: Sounds solid to me man. Illyasova is in the best possible situation and he’s still crazy inconsistent. Definitely worth cutting, especially if FG% is hurting. Be prepared for him to make you regret it sometimes though lol. I have a love/hate relationship with him…
Collison should be very solid, so I’m fine with the move.
What do you think of trading:
Al Horford, Deron Williams, and Tyson Chandler to get:
Karl Towns and Jeff Teague
CJ Miles is on the waivers too and I plan on picking him up the second it goes through. That is…IFFFFF it is a good trade. Horford is amazing this year but Towns upside is unlimited. And Teague is obviously better than D-Will. JB has told me Tyson is waiver material…do you agree?
What do you think about the trade?
@Threekola: I like that deal for you, and yeah, I agree with JB on that one. Tyson just doesn’t fit Phoenix that well.
What do you think
I get Wiggins, I lose Gobert + Gallinari
Seriously need some scoring..
@EPH:
I personally think this is quite a bit for Wiggins. Gallo is a bit inconsistent but I think his pts will slowly tick upwards.
@Michael:
He wants REB and I need PTS. And Gobert is someone I could offer right now. Still looking for a second piece to add to the trade..
This is my current roster:
Damian Lillard
Reggie Jackson
Elfrid Payton
Danilo Gallinari
Draymond Green
Terrence Jones
Hassan Whiteside
Rudy Gobert
Monta Ellis
Deron Williams
Robert Covington
Nikola Mirotic
Luis Scola
@EPH: im not part of the razzballers crew but what i can suggest is luis scola he is a sell high candidate. i just dont see he will be consistent.
@EPH: Definitely too much for Wiggins, there’s no reason Gobert won’t live up early round value in the second half, so he and Wiggins are fairly similar in value. Eric is right that Scola is a sell high option, so I’d look to move him as a part of it. Moving Gobert won’t hurt you, since you have Hassan. You just need to get good value though. Shotblocking isn’t that easy to find this year.
Possibly move T-Jones, Scola, and Gallo for Wiggins and a throw in. Otherwise, you need a good second player with Wiggins for Gobert and Gallo.
@Adam: Yeah after a while of thinking, I realized Gobert could improve as the year progress.
I’ll try your advice and try to sell it to him. Specially now that Gallo is picking up a lot of boards lately.
@EPH: We’re discussing a trade on Gallo Al Jeff. What do you think?
@EPH: not quite sure I understand what the deal is. What’s a proposed offer?
@EPH:
I thought you need scoring? wouldn’t the potential of gallo be more than al Jefferson?
@Michael: Yea I rejected his offer. Al Jeff could score a lot though and on the trade eval I get more points when Al gets on my team.
How accurate is the trade eval anyway?
Happy Turkey day Razzball family!
Just wanted your opinion on this trade. It’s a 9-cat (with TO) standard H2H.
Got offered: HIS Towns + Teague for MY Horford + D-Will + Tyson Chandler
I am a proud Horford owner and appreciate his across the board production. I feel like he ends the year top 15 overall. HOWEVER, I think Towns has the chance to do the same. How do you compare the two as far as value?
It’s just I really need Treys and lose some with this trade, but C.J. Miles is on the waivers 😉
Regardless of who is on the waivers though, you think this is a good trade? JB says Tyson is droppable in 10ers, and this league is a 10er, would you go as far as to say Tyson is waiver material?
THANKS!
@Threekola: Answered your question above brother
@Adam: I swear the first one didn’t go through. I checked! lol.
Thanks man!
Hey, Adam! Trade Elfrid for Jru or hold? Thanks!
@Jerry: Hold, Jrue’s value is already really low, with Ish outplaying him, but it goes down even more when Reke comes back.
What’s good, Adam? I scooped up Aaron Gordon when I read he’d be moving into the starting lineup. Is he worth hanging onto, or do you think he’ll wind up getting Skiles’d every other night?
@Clyde Prompto: Sounds like a great move to me! Never know with Skiles though. The talent is too good to not pick him up. His defense should keep his minutes up.
@Adam: Awesome! I was pumped to get him and then in his first start he racked up a cool 17 minutes. Still had 2 BLK, though!
@Clyde Prompto: yeah, the defensive stats are great! The offense is going to be a bit hit or miss for a while though.
anyone having problem w/ yahoo? or is it just me? getting error message cant open it
Unable to access the network
ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED
@eric: Hmmm, that sounds like a connection problem on your computer. Clearing your browsing history and cookies may help with that. Otherwise might take a little more work to fix. That’s the easiest possible solution that comes to mind though.
@Adam: thanks adam. how come i can acess other websites? il try your suggestion thanks adam.
@eric: Possibly a cookie or certificate issue with Yahoo. That’s the most likely thing, since that error message just indicates that there is no communication between your computer and the Yahoo servers.
@Adam: If that doesn’t solve it, just google the error message. The steps to fix it are a little too long for me to walk you through on here lol. Plus this isn’t a tech forum xP
@Adam: haha thanks adam!! you know what for some reason it just worked what you have advise 😉 good job ser!
@eric: Nice! Glad it’s working!
I need a center. Would you trade Wiggins for Jahlil Okafor?
@Rice: Nope, I’d target Favors with Wiggins or Wiggins and something first. Jahlil turns the ball over a lot and shoots a low percentage for a big.
@Adam: I have Favors on my team. Can you suggest a few other potential targets?
I don’t necessarily want to deal Wiggins but he’s probably my best piece of bait.
Team makeup:
Kemba Walker Cha – PG
Eric Bledsoe Pho – PG,SG
Andrew Wiggins Min – SG,SF
Kristaps Porzingis NY – PF
Serge Ibaka OKC – PF,C
Isaiah Thomas Bos – PG
Kevin Durant OKC – SF,PF
Derrick Favors Uta – PF,C
Darren Collison Sac – PG
Ish Smith NO – PG
Robert Covington Phi – SG,SF
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Bkn – SG,SF
@Rice: I assume you just need the C eligibility? Stat-wise you look solid. What Cs are on the wire? I’d really hate to move Wiggins.
@Adam: Yeah, pretty much. I keep leaving an empty spot in my lineup once or twice a week due to the lack of C depth.
Waiver: Gorgi, Sullinger, Lauvergne, Scola, Hill, Mahimi
and I’m guessing my drop player would be Hollis-Jefferson?
@Rice: Drop RHJ for Sully right now! Run!! lol. How’s he on the wire??
@Adam: Yeah, not sure why. Looks like he was dropped just two days ago and no one noticed over the holiday yesterday.
I ran! I got!
@Rice: Nice! That’s a steal. Sully has been putting up solid mid-round value lately. Plus, you didn’t give up anything!
@Adam: I am thankful for everyone being too distracted by booze and football yesterday to notice.
I am thankful for giving up nothing for Sully.
I am thankful for the help!
@Rice: Hahaha you’re welcome
@Adam: WOW! just curious 12team league?
Hi, I am in a Roto 9 cat, I have Alec Burks at the end of my bench, I cannot really play him…should I pick RHJ for his upside especially in the second part of the season ( I also badly need steals..) Merci
@Eric: If you aren’t playing him, then I could definitely see that move working in Roto. I do think Burks bounces back though. I don’t see RHJ doing a whole lot more second half, but he’s pretty useful already.
Bazemore or Evan Turner?
also have Chalmers
@Scott: Bazemore, unless you need assists.
Are we switching Jones for Capella out everywhere now that he coming off the bench?
@Lasandro: Still want to keep Jones, but Capela needs to be rostered as well, til we see how it pans out.
9 cat roto is it worth giving up kanter + wiggin for vuc ?
@nont nontiskul: Value wise, I’d give Wiggins’ side the edge, but it’s a fair deal, so it depends on need, and who’s available on the wire.
Barely hanging onto Agordon. I’m on the edge… Why can’t he get at least 25 mins per game. That’s all we Agordon owners are asking for.
Now Tjones came off the bench, can’t blame the coach tho, he has been off. Picked up Capela, hoping Howard gets injured, then the coach reinjects Tjones into the first unit and Capela starts at C, if that happens I’d be happiest man alive. Hah
Loving the RHJ call. I got him a couple of places. This years rookie class just keeps getting better and better.
I’ve given up on Aaron Gordon. Dropped him the 2 places I had him. It looks like we’re another year away from him getting big minutes. The Frye/Nicholson thing put me over the top. Something I was saying to JB a couple of days ago, early picks for Razzy coach of the year, Skiles vs Stevens vs Kidd. I’d vote for them all if I could.
@Slim: As someone who owns Gordon, Skiles wins in a runaway. Channing Frye? Eff you, dude. Scott Skiles is a dick stuck in a zipper, manifested into human form.
@Clyde Prompto: Lmao! Good comparison!
@Slim: RHJ, just puts up some really fun stat lines. Agreed, Porzingis alone, makes this rookie class extremely fun to watch!
I hate Skiles guts, but he does seem to lean toward giving the defensive hustlers run. So in that way, Gordon has the inside track. I’m holding him a bit longer, just because I don’t want him to break out on someone else’s team lol. The move to the starting lineup definitely bodes well.
@Adam: Yeah that would be nice but I haven’t heard anything about Gordon moving into the starting lineup. I assume if Fournier misses time it just moves Oladipo back into the starting 5. Tobias looks like a 32 min SF now (and probably the best player on the team) and Frye/Nicholson are basically taking up the PF minutes. Maybe that changes but I kind of doubt it while they’re winning with it.
@Slim: Hmmmm, yeah you’re right… I had heard it a couple places, and I think a lot of other people made the assumption after he started the second half against the Cavs. I guess that was just a defensive matchup against LBJ. Never smart to assume with Skyles lol. The minutes are just weird because Skiles said before the season that he liked Gordon and Tobias side by side.
I think Oladipo is stuck outside of the starting 5… He’s thriving there, the 2nd unit needs some punch, and it’s Skiles…
Hi there!
I am in need of a pg….
My bradley beal for his vic oladipo?
or
My bradley beal for his brandon knight?
Are these fair deals? Which would be better for me?
Thanks in advance
@Paul Vincent Tan: For a pg, I’d do the deal for Knight. Oladipo is the primary scorer in the second unit, so he isn’t going to give you the PG stats.
Hey, Adam! Kostas Koufos or Ed Davis? Thanks!
@Jerry: I’d go Ed Davis, while Myers is out. He’s been putting up some great lines, since he’s been getting run.
Bazemore or RHJ ROS? Is Bazemore’s value hurt by Sefolosha being good when he was out? Thanks
@Larry: I’d lean RHJ for overall value, but it depends what stats you need. Offense vs Defense essentially.
Thanks, Adam. I have one more question. Would you go Crowder or Baezmore for ros? Thanks!
@Jerry: Crowder, the steals totals are just too good to pass up. Plus guaranteed playing time.
I need blocks and boards tomorrow, S Sunday.
Mahinmi vs LAL
Lavoy vs LAL
Dedmon vs Bos
Amir Johnson @ Orl
Henson @ Cha
Olynyk @ Orl
@Scott: Probably Mahinmi or Amir, based on guaranteed PT. Ian should get solid block numbers against the Lakeshow, so I’d probably lean his way a tad.
I’m in a 12-team h2h points league.
My team:
Chris Paul
Karl-Anthony Towns
Andrew Wiggins
Draymond Green
Elfrid Payton
Rudy Gay
Ricky Rubio
Jarrett Jack
Aaron Gordon
Wesley Matthews
DeMarre Carroll
Jordan Clarkson
Darren Collison
Collison, Matthews, Gordon and Clarkson aren’t playing super awesome at the moment. Do I drop any of them to pick up Lawson, Dieng, Meyers Leonard, Bjelica, Bayless or Capela? KAT is my only center.
@Steve: Swap Gordon for Capela. I’d hold on the others for now though.
would you trade draymond green for millsap at this point ?
@nont nontiskul: millsap in my opinion is def better than draymond green unless you really need draymonds assits
@nont nontiskul: The two have almost identical stat lines, except for point for Millsap vs assists for Dray. This give Dray the edge in value though. Purely depends on what you need, but neither seem to be flukey. Dray is the center of the Warrior’s offense, so this isn’t really a time to sell high.
With all fantasy though, it still comes down to who you prefer. Value wise, they’re about even though.
What’s your opinion on jrue’s outlook for the rest of the year? Is he eventually going to get 30+ min and start producing around 15 points 7 assits and 4 rebounds ?? Or is that probably not going to happen due to the pelicans record and ish playing well along with reke coming back? Should I keep him in a 10 man league with no turnovers ? I’ve already held onto him for 3 weeks too . Also what about d angelo? Do you see him producing more and more as the year progresses? Or is he just going to be a mediocre player the entire year averaging 12 5 and 3?
@Jon: If he does, it won’t be for a while, and I highly doubt he will. He just isn’t playing well, and Ish is running away with the job. Plus Reke’s return is imminent. I’d cut bait in a 10er.
D”Angelo is a tough one. I love him as a player, but he needs a breakthrough to be more than that. At least he’s ownable right now though. It wouldn’t surprise me, if he’d break out second half, but it’s just as likely that he doesn’t.
@Adam: should I keep jrue or drop jrue for d Angelo then?
@Jon: Sounds good to me. There may be something better than Russell on the wire in a 10er though.
@Adam: mo Williams is on the wire but if you look at his stats they honestly aren’t better than d Angelo stats especially his last couple games compared to d Angelo’s last couple games
@Jon: Yeah, I’d just go Russell then.
good or bad for me:
my bledsoe + otto for favors + jahlil okafor
my team looks like this before trade:
PG: bledsoe,dragic, clarkson
SG: bradley, harden, gary harris
SF: otto, marvin williams, aaron gordon
PF/C: millsap, monroe, rolo, markieff
@munchkin: I think you need the PG stats from Bledsoe. I’d see what big he’d do for just Otto, or Otto and a throw in.
12 team 9 cat.
who would your first two drops be for must have free agents? Thanks!
Isaiah Thomas Bos – PG
Robert Covington Phi – SG,SF
Will Barton Den – SG,SF
Otto Porter Was – SF
Andre Drummond Det – PF,C
Nikola Mirotic Chi – SF,PF
Ryan Anderson NO – PF,C
Rudy Gobert Uta – C
Jimmy Butler Chi – SG,SF
Jeff Teague Atl – PG
Damian Lillard Por – PG
Tyreke Evans NO – PG,SG
Al-Farouq Aminu Por – SF,PF
@jcg: Do you like Myers Leonard over any of those?
@jcg: Barton or Aminu would be the lowest, but I wouldn’t drop either of them… Especially for Leonard. He wasn’t great before going down.
Need assists/steals, have blocks to trade. Am I giving up too much in this trade? Team below as well.
He gives me: Olapido and E. Payton
I give him: Ibaka and J. Valuncianus
10 cat roto redraft league (extra cats are TO’s and Minutes)
PG: Lowry
PG: Teague
SG: Korver
SG: McCollum
G: J.R. Smith
SF: Gallo
SF: Gay
PF: Ibaka
PF: Meyers Leonard
F: Porter
C: Gobert
C: Gortat
C: Aldridge
UTIL: Bayless
Bench: Burks, Hollis-Jefferson, Marcus Morris, JV (on IR)
@Daddy Pig: That should actually work out well for you. You ditch JV in the deal, and Ibaka hasn’t exactly looked stellar.
Hey dude, don’t know if you’re still fielding questions, but which side of this deal would you want? Tobias and Kyrie for John Wall
@The Tristan Thompson Conundrum: Wall. Not sure Kyrie even gets up to speed during the regular season. Cavs aren’t going to rush him back.
Should I drop Fournier for CJ Miles? Who has the better season from this point on. To me it seems that Fournier is on the downswing. What do you think?
@King Icheboo: I agree with you, but I wouldn’t cut Fournier til he’s out of the starting lineup… I’d look to cut someone else or pull a two for one trade first. If I had to choose though, I’d take Miles over Fournier ROS.
@Adam:
Fournier is my worst guy….would you trade Fournier for Dragic? Is Dragic going to turn his season around in your opinion?
@King Icheboo: I would, Dragic is just too good to be this bad all year. I think he’s going to be one of those second half guys this year. I’d take Dragic over both. Unless you need 3s.
what would you do with jokic in a 8 teamer…need some steals and 3’s
stream? or grab one of bayless, tj warren, jerami grant or teletovic
@sliimbo: Jokic shouldn’t be owned in an 8 teamer, unless the rosters are extremely deep. Stream Bayless out of those options.
12-team league, should I drop Jokic for Capela or Dieng? Thanks
@Aladeen:
Should I also drop either Barton, Joe Johnson, or Jokic to grab Capela or Dieng? Or drop 2 and pick both up?
I have Jonas out for a while, and potentially Big Al. Lacking big men with these 2 down with only Gobert and Jokic…my wings are solid: Oladipo, Butler, CJ, Otto.
Thanks!
@Aladeen: Definitely drop Jokic for Capela. I could see dropping Joe J or Barton for Dieng based on the situation, but that’s really your call. Value wise, I wouldn’t, but need wise, it might be necessary.
I have Jrue Holiday sitting on the Wire. Do you think it’s too early to pick him up? Should I snag him before someone else takes him? I’m hoping he will get a bump in minutes soon..
I’m thinking about dropping Cory Joseph for Holiday in my 12 Cat H2H league with Pts, Rbs, Ast, Stl, Blk, DD, and 3s with no percentages and turn overs.
What do you think?
@Benjamin: That makes sense to me. CoJo doesn’t put up enough volume for that scoring system.
@Adam:
Thanks! I heard he’s suppose to get full minutes by January so I hope that he does good even with Ish smith around.
Also, I just found out that Nikola Jokic is starting at the C now and malone has said he has earned it. I have Meyers Leonard as my last spot in my roster right now, do you think it would make sense to drop Meyers for Jokic? Jokic has a large upside and he might bust out.
@Benjamin: Well I’m not sure about that, because Reke will be around too. He should be more productive than CoJo though.
I’d make that swap too. Myers really flopped after all the preseason hype. He could breakout in the second half, but Jokic seems like a better bet. At least, until Nurkic comes back. I’d use that spot to stream.
