– – do this anymore!!!! And that’s appropriate too because when you run out of the Air Canada Centre, it turns from solid ground to ice! Both Kyle Lowry and Terrence Ross won’t be frantically chasing down kids any time soon with ankle injuries last night. Lowry still finished out the OTs, but coach Casey said it was a bad booboo. He’s had a ton of injury problems through his career, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he misses at least a couple. We’ll see after it gets re-evaluated today. Then Ross’ sounds worse, happening in the 2nd quarter and he wasn’t able to get back in. Ross can’t! Stepped on a foot and it rolled. Those are never fun. Did shoot his freebies and walk off under his own power, so there’s that. In shallow leagues, if Ross was giving you some points you sorely needed you can hold out maybe a game, but he’s probably streamable. The main takeaway is Greivis Vasquez chose the perfect game to get hot, scoring a season-high 26 for a 26/2/8/2/0 line with 4 treys which is muy bueno. Did have 6 TOs which is muy mal. With the Raptors possibly missing both Lowry and Ross Sunday against Golden State, un opporunidad is there for Vasquez to have a major stream-tastic outing. You can sneak in Pts/3s/Asts/Stls and when you win, you’re opponent is gonna be like, “clever girl!” Here’s what else I saw last night in NBA hoops:
Marcin Gortat – The ten foot Pole just went to 11! Career-high for Gortat going 31/12/1/0/4. Yay for 51 minutes!
Jonas Valanciunas – Manages only 29 minutes in 3OTs. 7/10/1/0/0 shooting 3-9 and I put my official dropbox on him a week ago. Feeling good about it. My Dropbox can only handle 2 GBs and JV’s heavy toosh is clogging up my data!
Patrick Patterson – He’s like a boring, less flashy James Johnson. 5/4/0/2/2 with a trey, but back down to 23 minutes, which is saying something since there was an extra 15 minutes.
Khris Middleton – Solid outing against the league’s best D. 9-15 for 22/2/1/3/0 with three treys. A little ThrAGNOFfy, but man, he’s turning into the village bicycle – everyone gets a ride! On and off the wire, back and forth!
The Travesty of Big Man Minutes – Zaza Pachulia plays 26 minutes, shoots 1-8, and John Henson gets only 22. Sure Henson shot 0-4, but neither could guard Roy Hibbert. So the obvious answer is more to the scrub old guy when you’re tanking. Sheesh ka bab!
Giannis Antetokounmpo – Would Milwaukee just go and buyout O.J. Mayo already?! Giannis got only 21 minutes for 5/3/3/1/0 with a trey. They’re just wasting key developmental time. Maybe they’ll go out and sign Danny Granger too at this rate.
George Hill – George and Jill fell down the hill and George broke his crown. Or some crap like that, I’m not gonna look up that song! Fell and bruised his shoulder, which, well, let’s pretend he has a crown tat on it. Day-to-day, but not too serious.
LeBron James – Played, had a mask designed by Lucious Fox, and played like the Knicks were the Bane of his existence. 31/4/4/0/0 with only 1 TO shooting 13-19 with a trey.
Mario Chalmers – Eh. I’m still riding it out. 11/3/1 with a trey, but only 20 minutes in the blowout. Norris Cole got 29:27 of run, and I don’t think that’s any sort of trend.
Tyson Chandler – Shocker! An opposing big man played well against the Heat. 19/16, but logged no other stats with 2 TOs.
Raymond Felton – Proving all the memes true that he really can’t shoot! 2/2/5/3/0 shooting 1-7 in 31 god awful minutes. You can go ahead and drop the soap, aherm, drop the Felton in 12ers or shallower. Too much a distraction, and as the Knicks fall further out of the race, his minutes will be cut.
Tim Hardaway Jr. – Dude, if these two go to a shooting range together, I’m leaving the country. 2-15 for 6 Pts in a rough rough game.
Andray Blatche – Nice bounceback for 9/9/1/4/0, but only 18 minutes. Erstwhile…
Mason Plumlee – … Got 21 minutes of 10/9/1/0/3 action. I’m sure this being a blowout helped out the youngun and Blatche would otherwise get bigger minutes, but I’m still not a Blatche fan in most leagues.
Timofey Mozgov – Still starting and went 9/8/1/0/2 in 21 decent minutes. Mozgov or JV? Hmmm, might roll the dice on Mozgov or stream big man minutes at least. Which is what I’m doing in one league (10 teamer).
Randy Foye – Nearly rainbowed as more and more injuries are keeping his value afloat. 15/4/3/2/1 shooting 5-12 and brick city 2-8 from deep. Ty Lawson remains close and Wilson Chandler seems like it was a cautious benching. I don’t think Foye will keep up the value. I know I’ve been saying it a while, but it’ll happen!
Rest Of The Nuggets – This was an atrocity. 24 team TOs as all 6 DNPs were injuries. They really need to get healthy.
Have a great weekend Razzball Nation! I’m going to be out of town until Monday, so Slim is going to recap the weekend Monday morning and I’ll be a little slower with comments, but as always, shoot anything my way!
