This will be brief. It is simply an effort to get some information to you guys as reports from training camp trickle in…

  • Zion Williamson is skinny. Like legitimately in shape, and if you watch his highlights it’s not going to affect him negatively at all. If he can stay healthy there’s still that incredible monster lurking, waiting to eat up opponents. Should be easier on his joints; we shall see on the various strains and pulls his muscles have had. I’m not doing it. Just been burned too much. But you for sure can!
  • Coby White is out right now with a calf strain. Unconfirmed reports have him worried about the Zero Curse (Jayson Tatum, Damion Lillard, and Tyrese Haliburton) and he’s sitting and weighing a number switch. He should be back so don’t ding him for now. Ayo Dosunmu becomes a must start if it lingers.
  • De’Aaron Fox is set to miss time with a hamstring injury he suffered in the summer. He’s doubting himself playing on opening night. Stephen Castle gets a decent bump to start the season.
  • Josh Giddey tweaked his ankle. No word on if it’s the same one that caused him trouble last year. It probably is. I used to sprain my left ankle all the time. He’s fine if you want to get him, don’t worry too much about it. He’s always over 70 games.
  • Craig Porter, Jr. is the preferred stream with Darius Garland missing time to start. Don’t get Lonzo Ball, just don’t. Porter is better and more durable.
  • Daniel Gafford has a sprained ankle and is out around three weeks. Dereck Lively II gets even more of a bump.
  • Jaren Jackson, Jr. is out another 4-6 weeks, putting his earliest return in November. It’s a toe injury. I’m not sure I’d reach for him anyway, this puts me out.
  • The entire Sixers roster is out. Or day-to-day. At least they have the Phillies and Eagles! What do Wizards fans have, huh? Think about that!
  • Scoot Henderson is out for around two months with a hamstring injury. Scoot on to Jrue Holiday if you need replacement minutes.
  • Malik Monk has a calf thing. Maybe they’re just being cautious. Or maybe just find another option, nobody’s taking a calf injury lightly this season. It’s like the basketball version of the oblique.
  • Lauri Markkanen is missing practice with a wrist injury. Someone tell the Jazz they don’t need to tank in intrasquad scrimmages. Also Walker Kessler has a concussion which could linger. It might not either. Just monitor.
  • Alex Sarr is missing camp time with a calf injury. See what I mean? This is going to be the year of the calf injury in the NBA.

Don’t hate, just appreciate the notes here. Trying to get some info out to ya. If you’ll excuse me, I’ll be over here stretching my calves.
