Hey everyone!  This week, the new leader of basketball at Razzball, Son, joins me along with Tehol to go over his top 100 rankings.  Well, at least Tehol joins us for most of it, he disappears for a stretch due to some computer issues.  Damn computers!  Anyways, among the notable things discussed are Giannis Antetokounmpo at #1 overall, who else is in the top tier with Giannis, Son’s agressive rankings of Nikola JokicLonzo Ball and Dennis Smith Jr., the impact on Kyrie Irving‘s fantasy value due to his trade to Boston and what to do with Joel Embiid.  All of that and plenty more on the latest edition of the Razzball Basketball Podcast brought to you by League Safe!

Are you guys gonna put up a sortable rankings list?

@Jimmy’s J: That is Son’s department but I assume that is going to happen shortly now that he’s through the top 200.

Great pod guys, really enjoyed it.

Was hoping for some love for my boy James Johnson, particularly if the dude starts. I shoulda never have mentioned Ingles in a previous comment section because y’all talked about him way too long haha. The people want James Johnson!!

That top 9 is indeed a tough list.. I’m going in with the mindset that I’ll target someone who contributed in big man stats, in the first round a la Giannis, KD, Kat, AD. Plenty of guards down the line.

Y’all chatted about Murray for a while but what about G Harris? Malone loves him so I’d like to know if he’s worthy drafting over guys like Bradley (doubt it) or THJ. What about JRich in Miami? He smashed it in April but that team is hard to decode with people coming back healthy. Kinda like tryna figure out how Barton will fit this year in Denver.

The way Kristaps has been playing, he’s gotta be a clear fav over Turner in the 2nd right?

@Lasandro: Thanks! I don’t want to speak on behalf of Son but I know he has Johnson ranked very aggressively and Harris is ranked 50th overall, he loves him. JRich is worth a pick around 100th overall for me. My guess is that Barton has a small role, not a big fan of his for this season. Son has Zinger and Turner ranked back to back, they’re extremely close. If Melo gets traded before the season starts, I would take Porzingis, otherwise I may lean Turner just for the shooting volume.

I’m at the turn in a 10 team league wher Gobert, Jokic and Turner are not available. At pick 10/11 walks your favorit strategy

CP3/Cousins – go for a well rounded team

Wall/Cousins – go for the counting stats but be very shaky in both FG and FT while having to punt TOs.

Lillard/Cousins – punt FG, Lillard FT helps correct cousin poor FT and start the draft being elite in PTS and 3s

I’ve never punted before and I know 2 picks in is still really early in the draft but the more I think about it I’m really digging the Lillard/Cousins combo or am I reaching too much for Lillard. I feel like if CP3 is available I go that route and if not pass on Wall and go full FG punt and build with Lillard and Cousins.

    What you think guys?

@Jackson: I woukd simply take the two best guys and go with CP3 and Cousins. As much as I like Wall and Lillard, Paul should be better than both this year, especially in that system. It’s a bit of an injury risk but Paul’s numbers could be crazy in Houston.

Hi Viz, I have Bogdan Bogdanovic in a dynasty league (H2H, 20 teams), but I want to win this year. Would you trade him for Kent Bazemore? Thanks for your help!

    • Viz

      Viz says:

@Wen: Hey Wen, I would make that trade. I think Bazemore will receive more minutes this year than Bogdanovic and Atlanta will be desperate to play anybody that score. It wouldn’t surprise me if Bazemore is the second option behind Schroeder for Atlanta.
