I never thought I’d talk about him again this season, unless he got a DUI or something, but Lamar Odom had a pretty good night with 6 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. The game before, he went 10/5/1/0/1 and before that, 5/9/2/2/3. He’s, uh, he’s on my radar now. I feel…sad. He used to be somebody, though! I should feel good for him. Maybe the dark cloud surrounding him lifted. After all, the Kardashian curse has moved to Kris Humphries.
Nikola Pekovic – The battle of the Montenegro boys was the highlight of the night. Nikola P. finished with 19 points, 12 rbeounds and 4 turnovers while Nikola Vucevic fought back with 14 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assist, 2 blocks and a steal (it was his third double double in a row). Please ask me questions about “Nikola” in comments so I get confused.
Alexy Shved – He had an itch for threes, but he only scratched 1 of his 6 itches and overall only had 3 points, 5 assists and 4 turnovers.
Ricky Rubio – On December 15, he finished with a line of 8/4/9/3, and last night, he produced 0 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal. He averaged about 17 minutes in those 2 games. I wouldn’t say “he’s back” quite yet…
Jameer Nelson – Shot for a paltry 2-11 from the field, finishing with a mere 6 points, but he added 12 assists and 4 rebounds, plus a steal. He’s averaging just over 9 assists per game in the past 4 days (3 games).
J.J. Redick – On the other hand, the Redick hit 8 of 12, including 2 threes, to conclude the night with 18 points and 7 assists. He’s had double digit points in all but 1 game this month.
Chris Copeland – With Carmelo Anthony sidelined, Copeland finally produced a game that many had been expecting from the guy. He had a team high 29 points, including 3-5 from downtown. He also had 5 rebounds, 2 steals and a block.
Tyson Chandler – He has become a rebounding machine recently, collecting 12+ boards in 5 games this month. Last night, he had 18 (7 offensive) to go with 8 points, an assist and a block.
Jason Kidd – Kidd was off his game last night, only hitting 2 of 9 (1-5 from three point land), but he still had a decent line of 5/4/3/2.
Amar’e Stoudemire – As mentioned yesterday, he will be practicing this week, and it appears he could debut this weekend.
Carlos Delfino – His 4 three pointers led to 16 points, and he also chipped in with 5 rebounds. He looked like he might be roster worthy a couple of weeks ago, but he has been up and down, up and down, like an elevating device that sometimes goes up and other times, down.
Omer Asik – After I just learned how to write his name out, he went for 6 points, 2 boards, an assist, 2 steals and 3 blocks. Back to the more traditional Anglo letters for you, Omer.
Jeremy Lin – I feel like I can’t get away with this blurb unless I talk about either James Harden (28/10/3/2) or Lin, so let’s go with Lin. He had a sterling night in his first time back at MSG, finishing with 22 points, 4 boards, 8 dimes, and 2 steals. The one problem with Lin was his poor shooting from downtown, where he went 1 for 6. In the past 4 games, he is 3-12 from behind the arc.
Jason Maxiell – ugh, a bad night for Maximus indeed, where he had 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block. It’s his first block in 3 games. He’s also only averaging about 3 boards per game, which sucks. Jupiter damn it.
Brandon Knight – He took 10 three pointers and only made 3 of them. He still had 16 points to go with 5 rebounds, 5 assists and, sadly, 5 turnovers.
Marco Belinelli – He had 13 points (2 threes), 4 boards, 1 assist and 2 steals. Those are the fewest points he’s had this month since December 4 (where he had 6). He’s-a spicy meatball!
Zach Randoph – He pulled down 15 rebounds (7 offensive) to go with 12 points, an assist and a steal. Aside from a hiccup on December 14, he’s been scoring at least 15 points and doing his usual damage in rebounding.
Tony Allen – Despite 25+ minutes on the court, he didn’t do more than 6 points, 3 rebounds, and a block. His last good game was November 23, where he went 12/6. Some people wouldn’t even define that as good.
Nando de Colo – I felt like the mall manager from the Fingerbang episode of South Park. Nando de Colo had 15 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists and a steal. Wow. Wait, what?
Boris Diaw – He had 6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and a block to make him relevant in deep league discussions.
Serge Ibaka – He helped to crush the Spurs with 25 points, 17 rebounds (5 offensive), an assist and 3 blocks. He’s only averaging 2 blocks per game over the past 2 weeks, which knocks him out of the top ten, but I think he will bounce back, in so far as someone with 2 blocks per game needs to bounce back.
Nick Collison – He had 8 points, 10 rebounds (6 offensive), 1 assist, and 2 steals. Those 10 were his season high.
