Beef Stew is running away with the starting 5 job in Detroit as the season winds down. Casey has been resting his vets in Plumlee and Ellington and as a result, Stewart has been feasting. 8 blocks in his last four games alone, to go with an average of 14.25 boards in those four outings. He’s going to make a huge difference in fantasy playoffs for those who foresaw the downfall of Plumlee.

Over the last two weeks Hartenstein is putting up top-100 numbers, most of that on the back of 7.1 boards and 1.4 blocks a game. That’s in just shy of 20 MPG too. Unfortunately, playing behind Love and Allen means he’s unlikely to see much more than that, thus capping him at late-round value.

The fact that people were doubting Curry’s form at the beginning of the season is hilarious. How many times does the two-time MVP have to prove that he’s a truly transcendental player? At some points in the game it looked like Steph was in the driveway giving Seth buckets before school, that’s how effortless it was, or at least appeared to be.

Bazley’s pre-draft stock was sky-high but his wings were made of highly combustible metal. Recently, he’s been reintegrated into an OKC lineup that doesn’t feature Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and has seemed to benefit from the change. Unfortunately, the stocks aren’t going to appear out of nowhere and the shooting is still poor, so his upside remains capped.

Beal has scored 30+ in each of his last 5 outings, which shouldn’t come as a surprise since he’s averaging north of 30 on the season. Beal’s shooting 48.4% from the field, a career-high, and a big reason why he’s a bonafide first-rounder this year.

I’m so enamored with Mikal, feels like I write about him every week, even over his more decorated/highly-regarded teammates in Ayton, Paul, and Booker. The picture of efficiency, Bridges went 5-7 from deep on his way to 21 points and a block. He rarely stuffs the stat sheet, but he’s always giving you something valuable, be it steals, threes, blocks, or just plain efficient shooting with a low turnover rate.

In terms of the Grizzlies’ backcourt rotation, Melton seems to be the guy to own over Bane, Brooks, and Allen for all-around production. He has been faced with some injury woes, but when he’s healthy he can produce defensive stats in a hurry. He can score and pass the ball, too, though the numbers he puts up there are nothing special for a guard.

Thanks for this – JV is now ruled out for next game, is it time to cut him to win this week in playoffs?

      Nic says:

I’m assuming you have no IL slot since you’re considering dropping JV. He is a mid-rounder, so if you can scrape by this week, he should be healthy for next week and you’d be good to go. Then again, if you’re really at risk of elimination, it’s always best to err on the side of caution and drop for a roster spot.

      • Take flight says:
        (link)

Thanks for that. He is Out so is ineligible for an IL, so I’m hoping before tipoffs tomorrow his status changes to IL.

Otherwise I probably need to drop him, my matchup is close bud starting to slip away …
