Boy is the Kikkoman Juice (less sodium) flowing!

With Tony Wroten out with a knee injury (banged it against a barrel of turnovers), it’s given Brett Brown a bitch slap of sanity to run K.J. McDaniels like he deserves minutes.  Who else is there to even play, Eric Snow?!  McDaniels hadn’t played 30 minutes in a game this year, until surpassing that mark the past three games including a swashbuckler against the Spurs last night.  Getting rainbows that have golden arcs bigger than McDowell’s with a 10/9/2/3/2 line last night, after 21/13/1/1/2 & 18/6/1/0/1 in this latest minutes explosion the last three 76ers games losses.  While he’s playing better than I imagined, there’s still minutes for Wroten when he gets healthy, so I’m not ready to put all my Kookaburra eggs in my Kookaburra juice carton.  Worth owning in all leagues right now while getting the PT, but if he’s back down to 20 minutes when Wroten is healthy and T-Wrote plays his trademarked brickfest game (Wroten plays Tetris!), I’m fine moving on.  So for now, pour that sweet sweet kabob juice all over your line-up!  Here’s what else went down last night in fantasy hoops:

Cory Joseph/Alexey Shved – Whoa, good night for my 1% owned stream calls yesterday!  Tony Parker got a very unsurprising night off against the Sixers with a cracked rib, letting CoJo run with the starters for 14/8/6 in 34 minutes.  Not too shabby!  Well, it was against the now 0-17 Sixers, but schwatev.  And with Wroten hurt, it’s giving Shved lots of Shvminutes for 19/4/4/2/0 on 16 shots in 28 minutes without a single TO.  Hit a couple treys and is worth a stream through the week if you need some FG%-punt stats.

Michael Carter-Williams Speaking of FG%-punt! Awesome segway, huh?  MCW shot pretty well though (9-19 FG, 2-3 3PTM, 4-5 FT) for 24/11/7/0/0 and 4 TO.  Patience is a virtuous!  “Looks can be deceptive!”  Really looks like the Sixers best rebounder out there…  And should be even better on the glass when Wroten chucks up his vintage labradoodles!

Nerlens Noel Helm to NOT 108!  No Captain N last night after he was listed as probable, and no Philly big man did anything interesting in his stead.  Should be back for the next Sixers game, but man is this team frustrating…

Kawhi Leonard JB’s REL bias alert!  Games like last night is why all Kawhi dynasty owners have visions of sugarplums and redonkulousness in their future.  26/10/4/2/0 shooting 9-15 (2-6 3PTM, 6-8 FT).  No Parker or Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobili only needed 13 minutes to put up 14 Pts and get rested as well.  Once these geysers retire, oh man, get me some tix for the Kawhi show!

Dwyane Wade He played!  But pretty empty 9-13 FG 20/3/0/1/0.  Hard to believe the Heat got steamrolled that bad last night…

John Wall Streamroll culprit numero uno.  18/5/13/2/1 in a near rainbow, hit two treys, shot 6-10 from the field, and only had 2 TO.  Worth that first-round pricetag!

Rasual Butler – I guess Tom Jones will have to change his song “It’s not un-Rasual” as Butler has put up 23 points in 2 of the last 3.  Um, what?  Bradley Beal got into foul trouble early, and the journeyman Rasual got hot hitting 8-14 and three treys.  I still wouldn’t even be that excited to add him to my REL 20-teamer.

J.J. Hickson – Near rainbow!  10/8/2/1/3 in 21 minutes, as the Nuggets PF/C rotations continue to drive everyone bonkers.  Kenneth Faried has another slow-burn night of only 29 minutes, but then again, was more than 3 minutes over his season average!  Healthcare.Mozgov is still in open-enrollment on waiver wires in some leagues, but even though he’s the big man to own behind Faried, I still don’t like anyone from this crop.

Derrick Favors Caught the sniffies.  Let’s fire Drew Brees, new Nyquil Sponsor!  Trevor Booker played decent in a spot start for 6/9/1/2/1 and Enes Kanter actually hit the glass hard for 17/15.  Meh, not much to see here except to be sure Mama Booker made Derrick some chicken soup.

Trey Burke Another solid AST:TO game with 8:0 last night.  But it’s still cooled off more-or-less like we expected.

Alec Burks “Pow, right in the kisser!”  That’s what Arron Afflalo said…  22/8/3 and hit his FT at 8-10.  No blood no foul!  After a hot run, Burks had cooled off as well, but a nice bounceback here.  For the brothers Burk, it’s going to be up and down and it’s what you bargain for.

Jeff Adrien – Whoa, still relevant after all!  Welllll, not so much given it was a blowout right after the tip, and Thaddeus Young and Gorgui Dieng played under 22 minutes a piece, giving Adrien some junk time work.  7/6/2/1/2 in 13 bench minutes, but I would expect Flip to keep him on the bench most games when it’s close.  Although to get a near-rainbow and be the only guy except Glenn Robinson’s +3 in 6 minutes to go positive in +/- (Adrien was +7), Flip should notice.  And when the hell is it really going to be “close” for the Wolves?! Worth a look in 20ers even though I gave the advice he wasn’t yesterday… Sometimes I get em wrong!

Shabazz Muhammad Hmmm, two in a row playing red hot, with 18/10/4 last night after that career-high 28 last Sunday.  Back-to-back games leading the Wolves in scoring…. Hmmm…  Same advice as above, a lot will be in junk time, but virtually every Minny game is junky.  Maybe worth the flier in 16ers or deeper, but very very marginally.

J.J. Redick ThrAGNOF check!  Like “heat check”…?  Eh, it was a light day of news or anything interesting yesterday!  7-11 FG (4-5 3PTM, 5-6 FT) for 23 points and nada else.  23/1/2/0/0 and why you can treat these guys like flavors of the week. Or flavors of the day, really.  “Today’s soup du jour – mystery meat!”

DeAndre Jordan Ya know, besides maybe a little more Stl/Pts upside, is doing what we were hoping Andre Drummond would be… 11/13/2/1/4, and somehow his FT volume has gone down from last year to 0.8-1.8 a game and barely hurting you.  Why is no one hacking a Dre?!  The FGs are low-volume too, but 72.5% from the field?!  I’ll take that any-a-day!

Kevin Durant Mannnnnn, might be back tonight!  So be sure and check your line-ups before tip if you snagged KD in the first or second round.  Even if it’s not tonight, it’s looking mighty fine if you heeded our advice and reached for KD in H2H!

Guess the Kobe Stat Line – Get you guesses in, folks!  Step right up, herrrrre!  Read those in a circus announcer’s voice… And then think to yourself how circus-y Kobe’s line could be tonight against the Pistons…  Off a tripdub, I think Kobe stays hot for 32/6/7 on 29 shots.  Maybe Byron Scott’s starting line-up change is he’ll bring Kobe off the bench as the 6th man!  Hah!

Streamers/Cheap DraftKings Picks:

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (19% owned) – A little more widely owned than my normal streamer picks, but I think this is going to be a biggie for KCP.  Oh no, the KCP addict is going full bender!  The Lakers are awful – especially on D – and as a commenter pointed out, KCP for some reason is murdering it at home while pooping his pants on the road.  This is at Detroit, so if you’ve ever thought about streaming KCP, tonight be da nite!

Patrick Patterson (13% owned) – Pit-Pat is off a solid 10/13/3/0/1 game where he got some extra run with Amir Johnson stubbing his toe.  The legs of the coffee table can be treacherous!  Amir might sit out, or at the least should be a little limited, giving Pit-Pat some extended run against the Kings.  PF isn’t exactly a “power” position for SAC, so owners looking for a little-bit-a-e’rythang should give Pit-Pat a long hard look.

It’s a busy Tuesday night, so be sure and set your line-ups and consider your steams.  We’ll catch ya tomorrow recapping em all!

Hi man! Im thinking about some changes in my roster on a 16 team league.

Holiday, Conley, Payton, McLemore, Batum, Fournier, LeBron, T.Jones, Dray Green, Ed Davis, Favors, O´Quinn and Sanders.

Matt Barnes, Vince Carter, Mason Plumlee, Dj Augustin, Jameer Nelson, Kirk Hinrich, Aaron Brooks, Napier/Cole, Hollis Thompson, James Johnson, Devin Harris, Kidd-Gilchrist, Alex Len, Rasual Butler, Papanikolau, Schroder, Patterson, Muhammad…

Im being a bit stubborn with Payton but I drafted him a bit early and I had hopes on him, I guess McLemore wont play like this for long but I wont cut him at least some really good SG with 3s appears. Is still earl and I just got him but O´Quinn can be another candidate to leave.

Depending on how the injury and the rotation goes I guess I should get Nelson instead of Payton (I need 3s). Also checking on O´Quinn I might drop him for Patrick Patterson/James Johnson/Kidd-Gilchrist?

    Thanks!

    • DK says:
      (link)

@Lawson: I already picked up Pat pat in my 14 and also Johnson in most of my 12. O’Quinn hasn’t performed much after ankle injury but it seems Johnson has most upside for defensive stats right now.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Lawson: Yo! Thanks for stoppin by. Yeah O’Quinn looks like a drop, and I’m just not a big James Johnson fan minutes-wise, as even with injuries, he doesn’t get good run. Def grabbing Patterson for O’Quinn, plays big minutes anyway, and hits all the cats.

  2. Dirk's Digglers says:
    (link)

liking Dieng’s out of position assists of late … any chance it’ll keep up?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Dirk’s Digglers: He’ll need the minutes, which won’t be there when Pek is back. PLus he had 1, 1, 1 for 3 straight before the 3 game outburst, and those 1s in more minutes, so I think it’s a little flukey

  3. DK says:
    (link)

Dragic owner finally wanted my MCW after seeing his recent performance. Do you think i should still go for it? Dragic seems mediocre but w fantastic fg ft and lower TO. Please advise? Last week was a big yes from you. Thanks JB.

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@DK: Your team needs % boosts way over Ast/Reb boosts right? I am a little less gung-ho about it, but yeah I’ll take Dragic

      • DK says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:
Well currently I have the following roster. What do you think? I am defn enjoying the boost of fat stats outside of %. Should I give up mcw? Or seems fine? It3 is really killing dragic’s vibe.

        Curry, Lawson, MCW, lou,
        McD, draymond, Patterson, Mirotic
Millsap, Jones, Duncan, Gortat, Ed Davis

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@DK: Man, I forgot how solid you seem to be in %s, really only Gortat and Ed Davis hurt FT and FG% might waffle some when Lou or Curry are hot/cold, but man, I’m thinking hold now. I don’t think MCW really hurts you that much when he’s off

          • DK says:
            (link)

@JB Gilpin: Well my FG depends on Curry for sure, Millsap and Lawson. Lawson is shooting bad lately, so my FG isn’t fantastic. Ed doesn’t really take much FTs. But usually curry and Lawson tends to bring it back up to decent levels.

As a reference, I still won in fg and FT last week with Mcw and Lawson shooting so badly. Well the other team was much worse Hahaha.

            • JB Gilpin

              JB Gilpin says:
              (link)

@DK: Haha you don’t have to do good, only better than the other team! Haha

                (link)

@JB Gilpin: speak of the devil, dragic scores 32 pts. Owner has cancel his dragic offer. Hahaha

      (link)

      @mUshi: how about wall/gay for kawhi/millsap?
      Thanks

      • JB Gilpin

        JB Gilpin says:
        (link)

@your mom: First one I’d stick with Wall, second one is very very close given my Millsap leanings… If I needed a PG with elite dimes, I would take Wall side, if I was sat there, I’d want Kawhi side

  5. AC says:

    Hey JB,

Thoughts on this trade? My Kemba and Deng for his Tobias Harris and Jonas.

    Thanks!

    • JB Gilpin

@AC: It’s a coin flip, sorry to be wishy-washy, if you had solid PGs I would take it, loving what Tobias is doing.

      • AC says:
        (link)

@JB Gilpin: Ok cool. Yeah I would still have Dragic, Knight, Oladipo, Collison, and Hill (when he returns), so I should be good. Thanks!

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:

@AC: Nice, loaded up on dem PG, love it!

  6. jcg says:

Thinking long term is Mirotic worth a pickup? Lots of PFs on the Bulls but do you see him getting action at SF maybe at Dunleavys expense ?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@jcg: Nah not really, Mirotic is a little big for SF. Still will maybe be useful in a 18-20 MPG kind of way, and then again Noah/Gasol/Gibson aren’t exactly clean bills of health either.

  7. Bojangles says:
    (link)

Thanks for the stream advice last night, hooked me up in my H2H! Pope is still on the wire, think he is a good long term add for a SG spot or stream only?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Bojangles: Awesome, glad it helped ya man! KCP is going to be variable, solid when the shot falls, iffy when not, so I’ll lean towards stream ony, but if he goes off tonight, it’d be tough to drop him

      • Bojangles says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:

One last piece of advice H2H Blake Griffin for carmelo anthony?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Bojangles: I’d take Melo, even with the injury concern with that back

  8. Vidalchow says:

Congrats for your work!! And thanks for your alert about KJ.

Two questions from Spain. Dinasty, 12team, 9-cat
    My team
WB, Teague, L. Williams, Stephenson, Collison.
    P. George, Gay, Draymon, KJ, Gallinari
    Sullinger, Pau, Horford, Ibaka, Ilyasova

    1,. Stephenson x Beal?
2.- If I have to keep only 3 for position?

    Some advice?

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Vidalchow: Thanks for reading man! Appreciate ya checkin us out from across the pond!

      1. You got offered Beal for Stephenson in a dynasty? Yeah I’m def taking that!
      2. So you keep… 9 overall? 3 G, 3 F and 3 C? My G would be Westbrook, Colly, Teague F George Gay and probably Draymond and C Ibaka Horford, and then this last one is the hardest… Gasol has been solid, but so up there in age, I’d still prob keep him over Sully.

  9. Joe says:
    (link)

Is MCW a sell high after two good games or a hold? I’m wondering if he meshes with my team.

    Melo – Durant – Conley – M.Gasol – Matthews – Holiday – MCW – D.West – IT2 – J.Hill – Mozgov (9 cats, 10-team)

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@Joe: He’s a hold for me, since I was expecting good games like this. I actually think he’s a great fit, TO doesn’t look too bad, %s not too bad, yeah I would hold unless someone offered a ton

      • Joe says:
        (link)

        @JB Gilpin:

If he can reduce his TOs just a little bit, and bring his FG% around 40, he’ll be the steal of the draft and someone (hint hint) will deserve TWO six packs of beer.

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:

@Joe: Woooooo, let’s hope so man!

  10. Good morning JB, Slim and all of Razzball!

Just got this offer for LaMarcus Aldridge…

    Receive Al Horford
    Receive Darren Collison
    Receive Joe Johnson

All I have to give up is Aldridge and I’ll drop 2 streamers.

    ACCEPT or REJECT?

    Thanks!!

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:
      (link)

@WNWDOTCOM: Morning man! Whoa, ACCEPT-a-roosky! Joe Johnson is kinda bleh, but love me some Horford and Colly. Any time man!

      • @JB Gilpin: Appreciate it. I kinda figured that was an ACCEPT NOW, as Horford isn’t that much of a downgrade from LaMarcus but I thought I’d check and make sure. Deal is done

        • JB Gilpin

    • JB Gilpin

      JB Gilpin says:

@zebo: I think most is actually at the 3, but he totally should have elig at the 2. Sixers doing a lot of MCW/Shved/Wroten (when healthy) combo-PG set with KJ runnin with em

    – maybe when he’s playing the opponents step into the COJO DOJO
    – maybe when he’s got it working, he’s flexing some COJO MOJO
    – maybe when it’s an off night, he’s a LOFLO COJO
    – maybe when you’re buying in, you’re eating the COJO FROYO

@Hamtime: 1. Yeah I think I might, wanna see what the Lakers do tonight. 2. Sure! Ariza for Hill… Ehh depends on needs, I usually would like ariza, but if I needed a big I’d be cool with that. 3. With this DeMar injury, yeah I think the upgrade to Parsons is worth Lowry side. 4. I mean, I have no reason to think he wouldn’t, I prob would only do that if I had PG depth

        SF: Leonard, Melo

        What do you think?

        • JB Gilpin

          JB Gilpin says:
          (link)

@Nikko Respeto: I think i prefer Vuc, isn’t he beating Gasol in Pts right now? Bad playoff sched for Magic sucks though, makes it close. Yeah I’d take Westbrook over Melo, mostly due to that wonky back for Melo and it could crop up again. Ehhhh not liking that 2-for-2 offer though

          • Nikko Respeto says:
            (link)

@JB Gilpin: Vuc and Gasol are separated by like .3 in average. And what if instead of Asik, I got Jordan Hill

Jb what’s going on? Love reading your stuff thanks to you and slim I’m currently in first by 11.5
What do you think about my Lowry and Aldridge for his Griffin and wall.. Or if I can somehow get my Jrue and Aldridge for his Griffin and wall.. I would post my team but I’ve posted it way too many times lol.. Let me know what you think

@Clos: Hell yeah, awesome man, really appreciate it! Yeah I like the Jrue one, I dunno about the Lowry one though, he should go nuts with no DeRozan. And I’m a little down on Blake. I wouldn’t mess with your success too much!

    Tonight’s Kobe line: 33/5/7, 29 shots

I’m watching Lakers v Wizards tomorrow. Not very often LA is the underdog in this game. Might be one of the last times I see Kobe live. I once saw him drop 50+ against the Rockets including a posterizing dunk over Yao. Vintage Kobe…I think he put up 50+ in 6 or 7 straight games that year! Oh the good ol’ days. Lake Show 2017!!

@Hayward Ginobili: Nice! Enjoy the game man, I haven’t been to an NBA game in ages since I never got into the Bobcats. Only went to a handful of those after going to 10-15 Hornets games a year back in the day. Old school Kobe!

Ugh, loved my team coming out of the draft, but we’re hovering right around .500 so far. Dragic and Parsons are my biggest underachievers. Should I sit tight and wait for them to get it together, or do I bite the bullet and risk selling them at their lowest? My Kobe line: 22 pts/4 reb/6 ast on 17 shots.

@Clyde Prompto: Dragic I don’t think I would sell, even though I know he won’t be what we hoped. Parsons I don’t mind moving though, I think the FG% goes up a tad, but those assists I don’t think come back

    Hey JB,

Is Stuckey losing minutes due to blowouts or because of the CJ’s?

Thinking of moving on in a 14teamer for someone like Wes Johnson.

But the FTM are soo juicy!

    Thanks!

@J: Blowout factor in this one I think. I think I would hold over Johnson, even though WesJ almost had a rainbow tonight… Any time!

Sup man! I’m currently in a 12-team h2h league, my line up consists of:

PG/SG/SF: curry, durant, mcw, bledsoe, collison, batum, parsons, wiggins, brewer

    PF/C: nowitzki, hibbert, faried, olynyk

Lost the last 3 matches, i gotta say maybe twas because batum and hibbert got hurt(batum is just awful right now, and FARIED). But now KD is back, maybe better days’ within reach? I don’t know man, and should i trade dirk for an elite rebounder? Thanks man, id gladly appreciate any input!

@Dante Green: Yo, thanks for droppin by! Starting with boards, yeah they don’t look great, but def not awful. Probably middle of the pack. I’d be totally good moving him for Aldridge or try a package for DeAndre Jordan and something, but I wouldn’t sell Dirk for anything lower than what he’s worth. Batum off a nice assist game tonight and you should be more than fine there, I don’t mind selling him at a little bit of a discount. TO is probably a lost cause most weeks, what about offering Batum & Dirk for Cousins & a throw in? I bet that might work! Hope that helps!

@JB Gilpin: wow man both suggestions are great, the teams who have LMA and boogy are lacking 3s, I might be able to work something out, thanks man! Appreciate it!
