Razzball Nation!
DraftKings is back, and while we don’t have a Razzball Only contest this week (bummer, I know…), we can still all get together and sing some campfire songs over a big contest in the several they run every night! I wanted to keep it low key, albeit with a big payday, so join me why don’t ya in the NBA $50K Layup! It’s $2 to play, and pays out a cool, hard $50-grand for the overall winner. If somebody from Razzball Nation wins, I better get a heavy dose of Crown & Cokes! I’ll be in there with my jbrazzball moniker, so you can track me as I finish middle of the pack, which has been my normal finish most of the time this year in daily… I’m coming for that payday this Friday though! Here’s 5 of my picks for tonight’s action:
PG – Reggie Jackson – $7,000 – There’s the DraftKings $50K Layup, then the NBA Layup which is when you face the Sixers. That is, unless you’re the Wolves of course! Obviously Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are back, but this is the perfect opportunity to roll out a reasonably priced R-Jax who should tear apart the Sixers second unit and get a ton of run in junk time.
SG – Jason Terry – $5,700 – Another matchup-fueled pick, the Rockets get Minnesota tonight and Jason Terry will draw the start with Isaiah Canaan and Patrick Beverley still recovering from injuries. Canaan is close and might surprise, but it should be the Terry show and he’s put up 35 DK points the past two games as the starter.
SF – Tobias Harris – $6,800 – “Body chocolate! Wanna lick?” Even in that blowout against the Clips and getting only 25 minutes, T-Hair put up 30.5 DK points. 30+ points the last three games even though his salary has steadily decreased the past couple weeks by $600 bucks. Great value tonight against the Jazz.
PF – Paul Millsap – $8,800 – There’s no Anthony Davis playing tonight, so it’s going to make line-ups wildly variable across DraftKings on an otherwise very heavily scheduled Friday. With that in mind, my big money play is The Sapper, who is averaging 37.8 DK Points a game at PF, the best output for any PF available. Against the painfully slow Kevin Garnett plus some Mirza Teletovic, it’s a pretty dreamy matchup for Cerebral Paul-sy.
C – Gorgui Dieng – $7,200 – Finally hitting his stride Wednesday against the awful Sixers (although the Wolves are awful-er), Dieng put up a 15/16 night good for 41.5 DK points. No Dwight Howard for Houston means another start for Tarik Black, so Dieng should have some room to roam there in the paint. Choo choo! Hop aboard that Dieng Train with me, why don’t ya?!
