It’s Thanksgiving around the NBA, tomorrow, in case it slipped your mind. I’m told there would be stuffing, which represents the cure for scurvy given to the Pilgrims by the locals, on Plymouth Rock, or something to that effect.

Certainly, it is a joyous occasion, but it begs the question, why is there no Thanksgiving music? There are about 5000 Christmas songs being rammed down our throats right now, like we were fois gras geese, But nary a pilgrim/first nations crossover ditty! Anyone in the music industry, you’re welcome, the idea is my gift to you, run with it. What has become the primary celebratory routine is a plying of alcohol, followed by a gorging, followed by sporting event, followed by a retail sales the likes of which are only seen on this day all year! And we here at Razzball are no different.  We have deals you can’t afford to miss out on, everything must go, go, go! Take a gander at these beauts:

BUY:

Lou Williams PG, SG

It’s a crime that JB got to write about this cat first, as I’m the resident Raptors fan here! GM Masai Ugiri is the straight dope, under his soothing guidance, the Raptors plucked this plum (along with Bebe Lucas Noguiera) off the Atlanta Hawks for John Salmons. Wait, wut? John Salmons?? Thanksgiving Jebus, be still my heart, that is straight thievery, son! And speaking of thievery, Lou’s fingers are sticky, like a gypsy in that european flea market your girl dragged you to soak in the “culture”.  Lou is sixth man potential, he gives you multiple steals per game, as well as treys, in 21 minutes, and I think his minutes should rise to 25 +. All that said, he’s worth owning now in 12-14 leaguers, and is criminally under-owned at 25%. I give, and I give. Pass the yams.

Donald Sloan PG, SG

Streamah, nothing but a streeeemah…. any Supertramp fans out there? Anyone?? Ok, fine, just trust me, the bit fits, and it’s funny. And what’s also funny, but not “ha ha”, funny, more: “gotta laugh before we cry” funny, is the Pacer’s back court. Rodney Stuckey  is out with a wrist injury, and George Hill is still a few weeks away, which means Sloan will get all the minutes he can handle. A decent dime source, with the odd trey, and low turnovers thus far. He’s only 40% owned, as of the time I wrote this, so you may just get him for free.

Bradley Beal SG

Beal is producing, and you should know this. But as well as he’s doing thus far, I think he’s capable of much more. He’s coming off the bench for now, but Otto Porter just got injured, and clearly Beal is just being eased back into the line up. In three games (at the time of writing this article on Monday… Yeah Monday, it’s a holiday week, don’t judge me, I deserve time off as well!!) He has 16.7/3.3/4.7/1.3/0 with 1.6 3pts, over 50% FG %. Dope. I would gladly part with an Eric Bledsoe or a DeMar DeRozan for him. Do with that what you will.

Wilson Chandler SG, SF

I know JB will be on me like gravy on mashed potatoes, I’m not saying trade for him, but he’s only 60% owned, and  currently starting in Denver. In his last 5 games, he has gone 14.2/8.8/1.8/1.2/.8 with 3.2 treys per, averaging 33.8 minutes during that span. Danilo Gallinari isn’t right yet (although heating up), so stream him while he’s hot, and don’t hold him when his minutes drop.

SELL:

LeBron James SF, PF

Sacrilege, right? well, he is arguably the best player in the game, still, that’s true. But his team is crappy, and while the team will undoubtedly improve, the Cavs have a terrible schedule during the fantasy schedule (2 game week in week one, I believe, followed by a 3 game week. Whatever, look in up yourself, I’m not your Mom!), as Slim has mentioned a number of times. Bron can net you a top 7 player, and I would think about it, in case the wheels completely come off in Cleveland, and he becomes a Kobe-eque shooting ballhog. I would rather have the security of a Stephen Curry, or a Nikola Vucevic/Bradley Beal. Many will disagree, like your colon protesting the ham and mashed mountain you’re soon to eat. Others will preach patience, saying flux will make James a fantasy King Kong. You decide, gentle reader, what to do. I’m off to buy a flat screen at 70% off.

Danny Green SG, SF

We buy low, and sell high here, right? ABC! Always Be Closing! It’s [email protected] or walk here people! If you didn’t get the Glengarry Glen Ross reference, shame on you. Don’t have a third helping of turkey, drop everything right now and watch that movie! My point is, Danny is playing out of this world right now, and you can hopefully parlay that into something grand, well above his ADP.

Giannis Antetokounmpo SG, SF

His numbers have been climbing, and we all love pulling for the kid, right? It’s Coach Kidd that bothers me. Last five games? 32 min, 18 min, 48 min, 15 min, 36 min. Up and down like a toilet seat, amirite? Let someone else handle that roller coaster, unless you love the ride, which I do not. Additionally, no blocks in his last 6 games. Me no likey.

Markieff Morris SF, PF, C

Markieff has played very well this year, and I love the Suns athletic game overall, it’s just plain entertaining. But as far as fantasy goes, his Yahoo ranking of 18 is just madness. This is the absolute apex of his potential, you couldn’t possibly expect any higher. Will he continue to produce at a respectable rate? Yes. Is he worth a second round designation? No. Do I hate people asking questions of themselves just to provide one word answers? Yes. And if you can parlay his fantasy production into a more dependable piece, do it, good reader!

That’s all for this week, I hope you all went out and heeded my advice on acquiring Kris Humphries last week, as Nene Hilario is out with a Plantar issue. He’s a marginal 10 team guy, I know it’s not earth shattering, but still. Told you so.

You may now give thanks. May all you shots be nothing but net!

  1. Ujiri Prokhorov says:
    (link)

    Great read..

I bought Lou Dubbs right before his peak on the wire..

Would either of you trade away your Anthony Davis for Pau Gasol & Kawhi?

(also Considering you have Kevin Durant in your IR)

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Ujiri Prokhorov: it’s an interesting offer, but I would need a top 7 overall talent for AD, along with a stud top thirty like gasol, as he’s (ant man) the number one overall fantasy player.

  2. deronwilliams says:
    (link)

been trying to deal away deron williams, but this is my first year ever owning him, and everyone else in the league owned him during his injury years and understandably dont want to touch him.. can’t blame them..

that said. would you drop gorgui dieng for mario chalmers as a backup pg.

my current team is unique at best:

PG’s: isiaah thomas, deron williams, ricky rubio
    sg’s/sf’s: jimmy butler/ nicolas batum/ wes matthews/andrew wiggins
    pf’s: dirk/paul millsap
    c’s: jordan hill/demarcus cousins/gorgui
    IR: paul george
it’s a keeper league, jimmy/batum/millsap/paul george are all at the minimum.

so. make the swap for mario chalmers? also, jimmy butler has been fantastic. do you think he can keep this up all year or is this a sell high moment. his situation is unique, in that i dont think he’ll taper off much if/when derick rose returns. he’s at the minimum for keeper considerations. so theres that.

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@deronwilliams: No, I would keep Dieng for as long as Peck is out. He contributes everywhere, aside from dimes.
I think that Jimmy has settled into a role, and will hove at this output for the foreseeable future, doesn’t mean you can’t trade him, but you need a top 20 player back, like Kyle Lowry?
And Deron isn’t terrible, btw. If you eanted to make a trade, see what you could get for Rubio maybe?

      • deronwilliams says:
        (link)

        @Dan A:

you got me a little wrong i think, i love deron william’s value right now, i just think his injury history makes me uneasy. he’s like dywane wade to me, great when he plays, but i play in a weekly league where if they start missing games or resting, it kills their value.

theres little value for rubio as well. my leaguemates hate my pg’s (which is why i got them for so cheap).

i’ve been thinking of trading deron williams for jrue holiday. and I dont play gorgui (on my bench). i wish they’d play gorgui more he seems to have a lot of potential. I was just looking to build depth at PG if/when deron williams catches his yearly injury plague

        • deronwilliams says:
          (link)

@deronwilliams: btw thanks for the advice. i’m a big gorgui believer just sucks he’s on the bench when pek is healthy. It’s hard for me to not notice chalmer’s usage now that lebrons gone, and his steals… but i’ve had him before and he’s wildly inconsistent outside of steals

        • Dan A

          Dan A. says:
          (link)

@deronwilliams: I get you. But ride Dieng while he starts, is all I’m saying. And Chalmers steals, but isn’t worth dropping Dieng, at the moment.

  3. Hamtime says:
    (link)

Len or Speights ROS? Need to make the add asap. Thanks

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

      @Hamtime: Speights, IMO

  4. Drez says:
    (link)

Hey Dan, can your rank these guys in a dynasty? (14 team, 12 cat, h2h)

    Ed Davis
    Kyle O’Quinn
    Kostas Papanikolaou
    James Johnson

I need an SG/SF, so I was thinking about targeting K.J. McDaniels with one of them. Any recommendations? Thanks.

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Drez: James Johnson, Kyle O’Quinn, Ed, Kostas.
if you mean dropping one of them for KJ, I would drop Kostas for sure.

  5. Chow says:

    Hi cracks!
    Dinasty: Teague or Holiday?
    Thanks!!!

    • Chow says:
      (link)

      @Chow:
      And another one:
      C. Lee or L. Williams

      • Dan A

        Dan A says:
        (link)

@Chow: Lou! All day. Actually, this one is closer, but the rhyme amuses me. But Lou, for sure.

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

      @Chow: Jrue! All day.

  6. harv says:
    (link)

About Giannis, he got low mins in one because he tweaked his ankle the game before and it was a blow out. The other was coz of foul trouble. Kidd’s been playing him down the stretch. Don’t you think his upside is worth holding on to?

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@harv: I understand the hesitancy to trade him, his upside is tantalizing. but his turnovers are high, and his production, while across the board, is inconsistent. He got 2/4/2/2/0 with 3 turnovers, and an abysmal FG%. I know he’s better than that, everyone’s entitled to a dud, but I would wait for a few better games, then try to move him. Could he turn it around and be the mad producer we all hope for? maybe, but I think it will take too much of your fantasy season to see that happen, if it even happens at all this year. But that’s just me, follow your heart. He’s definitely not a drop, to be clear.

      • PhilGordon says:
        (link)

@Dan A: Bucks fan here. Kidd’s rotations lots of us die-hard Bucks fans scratching our heads. Bucks are undeniably better than last year, but Kidd seems to like to use all 12 guys and gives the vets a lot of burn. Even the really crappy ones, like Dudley. Can’t tell if he’s in win-now mode or is trying to showcase players that may be moved down the line, but I think the assertion holds that Giannis’ minutes are likely to be in flux for the foreseeable future. Jabari too.

  7. Loler says:
    (link)

    Is K-Mart worth stashing?

If so, who should I drop for him – Kaman, Lou Williams, Gallinari?

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@Loler: I hate this position you’re in, because it’s such a tough call. Likely if you do drop him, someone will stash him pretty quick. I guess the question is, can you ride it out? He’s gone for 6-8 weeks, basically 40% of your remaining regular season, as you have to assume it will be 8.If you decide you can live with a shortened bench, Kaman is the guy, because Danilo’s minutes are going up, but this current production is what Kaman has to offer.

      • Loler says:
        (link)

@Dan A.: I sit on top of the league comfortably and I was just streaming Kaman for blocks. He’s actually the first choice to be dropped especially now since Gallo and Lou Williams’ roles seem to be clearer – Williams’ role is clearer but Gallo’s upside is definitely more promising.

I hate the position I am in now because there is a huge demand for big guy stats in my league since 2 dudes basically shared most of the bigs that were undrafted early. Hopefully, K-Mart stays in the wire for another 2 weeks but tbh, I really don’t want to wait and find out.

On another note, should I be trying to get Steph Curry through John Wall + 1? Or just stick it out with Wall and enjoy the ride? Because if I 2 for 1 Steph and get him + K-Mart. I think that’s a gain all around.

        • Dan A

          Dan A says:
          (link)

@Loler: Curry is straight murder!, I’d do that, depending on the second piece. But Steph is a top 4 player, IMO.

  8. mamba says:
    (link)

Would you drop Mo Williams or Dieng for Calderon? Mo Williams might have more value for the next month or so with Rubio out, but long term Calderon will have more value. Same with Dieng, he’s a beast right now but if Pek returns, his value goes down a little.

Mo Williams and Dieng are the only guys on my roster I could see myself dropping for Calderon. Thanks for the advice

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@mamba: I’d try Jose for Mo.

  9. J says:
    (link)

    Hey Dan,

Thinking about dropping Nick Young for Rodney Stuckey in my 14 teamer.
I don’t really have anyone else to drop besides Gallo and Lou Will.

    Who do you like ROS?

    Thanks!

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@J: it’s pretty close, but Stucky will likely be a primary scorer in Indy, with more touches than Young, by a hair. Both aren’t optimal, as they will come with “meh” percentages. Young will likely get more treys. Does that help? Stucky for young, but I’m not firm on it. How do you like your waffles?

  10. hamtime says:
    (link)

Chandler Parsons or Wes Matthews ROS? Or is this a lateral trade

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@hamtime: I like Wes better, but they’re pretty close, as you already figured.

  11. JungMin says:
    (link)

Do you think i could turn my markieff into paul millsap?
i’m willing to part with MCW as well
or is there a better guy i should target?

    • zimbabwa says:
      (link)

@JungMin: as a millsap owner, i probably wouldnt deal him away for morris and MCW, but it’d depend on needs. millsap has been underperforming in my opinion, and i dont know how confident I’m in him coming back. that said, he’s one of the only guys in fantasy i know that averages a 3/steal/block per game. all the while can go off any given night in rebounds and points. his FT% sucks. i’d prob want milsap, and deft try for just markieff and maybe a waiver wire guy instead of MCW.

      • Dan A

        Dan A says:
        (link)

@zimbabwa: I think Millsap is dpe, don’t sell low with him. he should figure it out soon, he’s only 14 games in.

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@JungMin: I doubt that would get it done. But He is a buy low candidate. I could gatehr it would take a top 50-60 talent to get him. I like Paul a lot, feel out what it would take to get him.

  12. Chris says:
    (link)

    Hello Dan,

Would you offer Danny Green for Beal?

    thanks,

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Chris: If I had Beal, I wouldn’t bite for that, although currently Danny is far out-performing Beal, only because I believe Beal can get back to being, well, waay better than what he’s shown, so I would hesitate to sell low. You are wise to target Beal, as he’s clearly shaking the rust off. I might open with a little less than Green, he’s been pure murder so far, affecting all categories.
      Good luck!

  13. BIG D says:
    (link)

    hey guys,
what do you make of oladipo with his mask? for how long he has to wear it? and do you still see him exploding anytime soon?
and one about favoes- is he top 30 player in your eye? or more around 50?
    thanks

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@BIG D: I think the mask will stay on for a while, orbital bone is a slow heal, but he may risk taking it off if he feels he can’t see. I think he will get back to where he was, just rusty. Be patient, see where he is by new year.
Favors is ranked by yahoo at 30, based on performance thus far. I see him as a 40’s player, but maybe I’m just not used to the new Derrick. Can’t argue his performance thus far.

  14. zimbabwa says:
    (link)

what side of : chris paul/ kawhi leonard/ george hill FOR deron williams/wes matthews/IT2/jordan hill you on?

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

      @zimbabwa: CP3 kawhi side.

  15. hamtime says:
    (link)

    AD+beverly or curry+m. gasol?

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@hamtime: yeesh. curry gasol, but I hate to give up AD.

  16. zimbabwa says:
    (link)

is nerlens noel or MCW players you’d want to target in trades? i know the obvious answer is ‘depends on who you’re giving up”, but what kind of talent or names of players would be a good trade offer for one of these guys?

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@zimbabwa: Noel is not a guy I’d target at the moment, unless you can live with the growing pains for half your season. I love his potential, but he’s coming along slowly.
MCW is forcing it, I would lowball an offer for him, like really low. Jameer Nelson? Actually,to be honest, unless you’re a philly fan and want one of your hometown guys on your fantasy squad, I wouldn’t want him. His turnovers and Percentages are terrible.

  17. zimbabwa says:
    (link)

how about jsmoove for danny green… never been a danny green owner but the combo of 3’s and blocks from this guy is impressive

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@zimbabwa: I doubt that would get it done, but give it a shot. danny is worth waaay more than that.

  18. holytrinity says:

i’ve been offered ibaka and jrue holiday for millsap and deron williams… close call

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:

@holytrinity: I like jrue and Ibaka. Westbrook and KD are back this week, putting Ibaka back to his usual blocking, boarding role.

  19. Luis says:

With Danilo leaving the game with soreness in his knee, I’m getting worried. I haven’t even started him yet waiting for him to round into form. I’m thinking of dropping him. I’m in a very competitive 12 team roto league with lots of categories. KJ McDaniels seems to be rounding into form and I’m sure he’s going to get playing time soon. Should I drop either Danilo or McRoberts for KJ? I’m looking for scoring right now, which is why I held onto Danilo this long.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@Luis: I understand your frustration. Check for Lou williams, although he’s probably gone in your league. I would drop McBob over the Gallinari, if you need to, and KJ is a good get in a deep league.

      • Luis says:
        (link)

@Dan A: Ya, Williams is long gone. Kicking myself for not pulling the trigger on him sooner. I think I’m good with bigs, so McBob is probably the guy to drop. I’m picking up KJ as a spec add since I know that once he starts having games like he did last night, he’ll be long gone too.

  20. mamba says:
    (link)

Drop Olynyk for Mozgov? Olynyk’s gone cold lately and Mozgov has returned Top 45 value in the last week and Top 60 value in the last 2 weeks. i’m tempted to drop olynyk for him.

10 team H2H Points league with extra points for double doubles.

    thanks.

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:
      (link)

@mamba: yeah that sounds the the move, especially since McGee isn’t pushing him at the moment.

  21. otootall says:
    (link)

so, been offered Carmelo anthony for jimmy butler…

the wrench. it’s a keeper league, melo is $100, jimmy is $10 to keep. this would be an enormous hall for essentially drafting melo for $10, but he’s been below expectations when he plays, plus now he’s got these back spasms. I dont want to fall for a dywane wade esque trade

    • otootall says:
      (link)

on that note, do you think ‘melo is worth targeting considering this owner seems to be in sell mode. I could offer him Dirk for melo but i doubt he’d go for it.

      • Dan A

        Dan A. says:
        (link)

@otootall: now this deal I’d do in a heartbeat, but you’re tight, he probably won’t bite.

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@otootall: Butler is the safer bet, Melo has back spasms right now. That’s concerning, but he is one of the top 5 scorers in the league. I dunno. If you don’t do it, Butler is a great piece to be left with. He is also the primary scorer, and younger, fresher. I know melo is tempting, but I think I’d also question why dude is letting him go, that’s not filling a different need, he’s dumping the risk on you. If melo can stay healthy, he’s the better producer, historically, but yahoo has butler 16, and Melo 46 currently. I would pass.

  22. RicoSuave says:

    Great job Dan A!

I’m in a 12 team H2H points league… in need of a C would you trade my Giannis Aasodifjldksunmpo for his Noel Nerlens?
    Thanks man

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@RicoSuave: ha! I love your intrepretation of his name.
I don’t like how things are going in philly for Noel. He will get better, but it’ll be bumpy. Could you target mozgov, or Len? They might be on your wire.

      • RicoSuave says:
        (link)

Players I can get are: Matt Barnes, Vince Carter, Wes Johnson, Mason Plumlee, Dj Augustin, Kirk Hinrich, Aaron Brooks, Napier/Cole, O´Quinn, Hollis Thompson, Lavoy Allen, Devin Harris, Kidd-Gilchrist, Alex Len, Rasual Butler, Papanikolau, Schroder, Patterson…

@ballsohard: those are all pieces that are more easily parted with. For you, you are getting sully at a sell high point, but he’s not the central piece in that deal. Lin’s stock is rising. In a deal with this many pieces, usually the guy who gets the best player wins, and that’s you. Hope he goes goes for it.
As to your friend, I would want hibbert, who isn’t exactly a stud, as well as injured, but smoove is terrible right now, despite last game, and Dieng is worth owning, but once Pek comes back it won’t be as good.

I got a spot free in my roster since Cousins is out tonight. Who should I start tonight? it’s between Batum or West (first game back)

@Glenn: sorry for the delay in response. I would have said Batum, only becasuse west would be possibly rusty.
Shows what I know, although Batum was benched because it was a blowout, blazers had it in hand by the 3rd

Do you think I should drop Sloan or Courtney lee for mozgov.. Still on the wire and Lee or Sloan haven’t impressed last game

@Clos: Sloan is an unproven commodity, but will get minutes. Lee has a higher upside, his role is season long. I would drop Sloan for Mozgov.

Who do you think is a good trade target for markieff? Thanks mate

@Thunder from down under: I hope you’re the one selling, Markieff is at his absolute highest value. If you’re targeting a player, it would be along the lines of Wall/Haywood/Millsap/DeAndre Jordan, according to his ranking, but I don’t know if you’ll be able to get that kind of player, folks may not feel he can keep it up. I hope it works out for you.

Speaking of Danny Green! I have been offered him for my Jamal Crawford. Team is listed below. I like adding Green because my team is a little deficient in REBS and BLKs. 3PM is a wash, but I lose some PTS and FT%.

I’m thinking that, since I have KD coming back, this spreads out my guard value across categories a little more and KD will make up for JC’s scoring. I’m worried about Green not keeping it up, but he’s in no danger of being Popped as one of the young guys. He’s also getting more mins this year.

What do you think of this trade given my team composition? Thanks!

    20-team, 8-cat H2H Categories (Re-draft)

    PGs: M. Conley, J. Lin, D. Schroder, C. Joseph, A. Shved
    SGs: M. Ellis, J. Crawford, A. Rivers,
    SFs: T. Harris, C. Copeland
PF/Cs: C. Boozer, E. Davis, JJ Hickson, Mason Plumlee, B. Biyombo

    IR: K. Durant

@jon: And if not Green, I’d probably target a big. Who do you think would be a fair target for JC? REBS, BLKS, PTS would be what I’m targeting with him. thanks dan!

        Dan A says:
        (link)

@jon: Danny is currently ranked 25th, Crawford 20th. Others around his ranking? Lowry, Kowhi Leonard, Vucevic. None of these dudes will be gotten for JC. I’d go with Danny.

@Dan A: so you’d rather Green than Crawford going forward? I’m just worried about Green’s inconsistency.

@Jon: Sorry, I read your post as you needing boards, blocks and points, last being offset by KD. If you’re worried, Crawford will more than likely keep up his current output over Green’s crazy swats to date. I would take crawford over Green, if you’re not addressing needs.

Hey man, I drafted Batum in 2nd and Parsons in 3rd and both are underperforming as hell right now. Should I try to trade one or both of them? I’m in need of a big man with decent FT%.

    • Dan A

      Dan A says:

@Daniel Bryan: I would consider moving one. Parsons for Favors would be nice, but according to rankings currently, Parsons for Jonas Valanciunas might be more gettable. For the record, I’m a huge JV fan, for what it’s worth. Good luck!

Who would you trade Draymond Green for?

    • Dan A

      Dan A. says:
      (link)

@thedoctor: Hmm. Dray is tough. He’s this year’s terrance jones. Lee being out has provided opportunity, but how long does that last? If you’re selling, he’s ranked 50th in yahoo, around JV, monta, Dieng. If you’re buying? I would only part with Dieng on that list. Does that help? I would try to scoop an injured demar Derozan (if you can afford to sit on his injury), and bargain from there.

Hi Dan, should I drop Kelly Olynyk for Danilo Gallinari or Ersan Ilyasova? Who has better ROS value? Thanks for advice.

    • Dan A

@Wen: I’m worried about Ersan. He is getting more minutes, but he’s been so wildly inconsistent, I’m scared. I would rather have Gallinari, I think.
