My love for NBA refereeing has been well documented in my articles all these years and every time I post something about it I think that there is nowhere to go but up from that point. And I’m wrong every time I make this assumption.

I knew coaches could influence the outcome of a basketball game, I just wasn’t aware that they can have such a direct impact. Pay special attention to Patty Mills’ facial expressions, who is well aware of what happened and has the guilty look of a child that has dived face-first into the cookie jar and was left with the infamous brown smile from all the chocolate consumption that followed.

Regarding last week’s suggestions, Goga Bitadze has established himself as the starting center in Indiana and should be rostered until the Pacers get their big men back while Kessler Edwards has been getting many minutes and has performed adequately. Finally, De’Anthony Melton had a great week but keep in mind that Memphis’ players in the protocol are expected back this week, so temper your expectations and be ready to move on if his playing time takes a significant hit. Finally, Coby White was a part of the “Sell” but with Lonzo Ball out for longer than expected and Alex Caruso going down as well, he is a hold for now.

Buy

Stephen Curry: Could Stephen Curry ever be considered a buy-low? When the greatest shooter the game has ever seen is shooting 38.5% from the field during the last two months then there surely is a case to be made. That cold streak has brought Curry’s fg% to 43.4% for the season, a major decrease compared to his last two full seasons (48.2% – 47.2% respectively). Of course it will not be easy to get him but if there is ever a chance , now is the time to enquire about his price and reap the rewards when he inevitably finds his rhythm again.

Chuma Okeke: Despite averaging only 27 minutes during the last month, Okeke has been a top 75 player, mainly due to his triples and steals. He is also an above-average rebounder and could be worth a stream for owners in need of the three categories mentioned above, with three games remaining this week (30% owned).

Jeff Green: Uncle Jeff has taken advantage of the major injuries in Denver and has elevated his way to fantasy relevance this season. He does not excel in any category but he can help your fantasy team with his good percentages and above-average scoring. He also gets bonus points as he has three more games remaining this week so he can be viewed as a decent streamer who is readily available in most leagues (14% owned).

Sell

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: He is currently playing the best basketball of his season and the Thunder keep on losing, so everything goes according to plan. However, apart from the the very possible regression in fg%, I am worried that Oklahoma might shut him down at the first opportunity they get. We saw it happen last year and it was just in time to ruin many fantasy teams before the fantasy playoffs, so I would look to move him for an established top 25 player playing for a team that is actively in the playoff race.
