Welcome to the final installment of WYT for the ‘22-’23 season, where I’ll be sharing some of my random thoughts, opinions, and questions about the NBA landscape as it pertains to fantasy basketball. Feel free to drop your comments and questions below! Let’s get started.

Even though it may be uncomfortable to look several months into the future, since many of you are in the midst of your playoff weeks, I thought it’d be appropriate to end this season with a prospective for next year’s fantasy draft. Here are a few players who are sure to see their spots move up.

This week’s WYT falls on the actual penultimate Week 19 of the fantasy basketball regular season. After discussing the top rookies of this season last week, it’s only right now to talk about the old heads. We’ll take a look at the eldest fantasy-relevant players this season. These are the guys who are either still chugging along producing at an elite level, or are guys who have been good enough at their jobs to have lasted to this point. Like fine wine, the five eldest fantasy relevant players are all within the top-100 mark (we’ll make one exception).

Welcome back to WYT! Week 18 is the All-Star weekend, a refreshing break for both NBA players and fantasy geeks alike. Finally, we can put our phones down for eight days to just enjoy our lives, right? Wrong! Fantasy is life, and on that topic, who are the players currently providing that for your teams right now? Let’s dive in and take a look at some top performers over the past week (3 game minimum).

Welcome back to Weekly Yinteresting Thoughts 16. This week’s segment will be a short dive into the reemergence of Kawhi Leonard, who’s really started picking things up over this past month. Leonard was drafted in the late second or third round of most leagues. As a notoriously injury prone superstar, many harbored doubts as to whether he would return value on his expensive price tag. The ultimate high risk, high reward player.

As we know in Fantasy Basketball, turnovers are closely correlated with the best players. But this isn’t always the case. Let’s take a look at who’s leading the league in turnovers this season.

This week we’ll take a look at some of our mid-season stat leaders for standard 9-category leagues. For those unfamiliar, the nine standard categories are points, rebounds, assists, threes, steals, blocks, FG%, FT%, and turnovers. We’ll be using stats from BasketballMonster.

This week is full of Luka-Doncic talk, and rightfully so. The 23 year old is breaking records left and right with no sign of slowing down. I checked the KIA MVP ladder recently to see if it reflected Doncic’s historical dominance this past week, and here were the results.

Befitting the name of this column, this week I had a jarring revelation that we’re almost at the halfway point of the fantasy basketball season! Most leagues run their regular season for 20 weeks and then commence playoffs. I’ll do a little halfway recap once we hit Week 10 or so, but it’s been a wild ride so far, eh?

This week we’ll talk about usage, and not about the fact that the Pelicans are somehow sitting at the top spot in the West. The Lakers are the third worst team in the West and currently don’t have their own pick. Guess who does?
