Duh-duh-duh-duhhhh. Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh! Mandatory to listen to this while reading.
It’s the final day of the regular season! If you’re reading you’re probably in your league championship or you’re awesome and keeping up with fantasy for next season. I’ll be starting to do some offseason work next week, and probably start formulating the Razzball rankings for the 2013-2014 season.
But for those of you in your championships, it’s the final countdown. One last day of a full roster to either snag that roto title or beat that douche who always changes his league smack or motto to something he finds funny about how good one of his players did. We get it, “Luis Scola’d your nuts last night.” Time to put him away.
Here’s some story lines to keep in mind and players out there to consider with a little recap of last night sprinkled in:
LeBron James – I haven’t seen anything official yet, but I’m guessing the Heat bench him and virtually everyone else. If you’re not gonna suit up against those Cavs fans heckling you, I don’t see why he’d show up for this game.
Tobias Harris – Last game to put on a show for a hopeful starting spot next year. I think he has a big game against a depleted Heat team. When you’re getting D’d up by Juwan Howard, things should go well.
Will Barton – Another extremely solid game last night playing 40 minutes going 8-14 FG 17 Pts 6 Rebs 5 Asts and 3 Stls. The 6 TOs hurt, but that’s a very useful line on a limited slate of games on the penultimate day. Like him again tonight.
John Jenkins – I liked him as a good streamer and everything was in place except him making shots. Went 2-13 from the field but a 8-2-1-1-1 line. Hopefully that didn’t kill your FG% (at least he went 4-5 from the FT line). I still like him as a deeper option tonight. The Hawks are tied with Chicago for the #5 spot, but they travel to a depleted Knicks team.
Josh McRoberts – I mentioned him Monday as he’s off two near triple-dubs. Very suitable LeBron replacement for the finale.
John Henson – Another guy I like in a finale game tonight with Larry Sanders probably out to rest for the Heat playoff series. Has been fantastic in his last 4 averaging a double-double with 1.5 steals and 3.5 blocks a night.
Chris Copeland – Gotta get him into your line-up as well, as he is the Knicks 6th or 7th primary scorer, and with all those above him benched, is their primary scorer! I think another solid mid-20s point game is realistic.
Dwight Howard – Arguably the biggest game in his career. As opposed to a playoff game for Orlando? Meh, those Lakers fans would crucify him if he chokes here. If the Jazz win and the Lakers lose, the Lakers are out of the playoffs. I think he has a huge game.
Bismack Biyombo – Two Bobcats? Nooooooo! As I said Monday two straight dub-dubs with multi blocks in 5 straight. Need a deep C, Biyombo could be your savior.
Lance Stephenson – Has been in and out of fantasy relevance, but is back in right now. Double digit scoring in three straight with a big 22-point outing on Sunday against the ghost of the Knicks. 2 Steals a piece in the last 3 as well if you need swipes.
