A new season of fantasy basketball is upon us and despite the fact that only 2 games have been played, I decide to start the weekly Buy/Sell articles earlier, just to give you fine folks some early suggestions on players you might have overlooked in your drafts that may have a strong start to the season. As the games get rolling and in future pieces, we will also discuss some players that are not helping your team and should be dropped or are at peak value that should be exploited in a potential trade. It’s the Buy/Sell game as you know it for all those years.

As a final note on this first introduction of the year and without comments from my side, a small part of the interview the GOAT, Michael Jordan, gave on NBC, discussing the desire to play competitive basketball that never left him.

If you can find the full interview, it is truly worth a watch.

Buy

Cason Wallace: A very underrated fantasy contributor, Wallace was a top100 performer in per game value last season and yet went undrafted in many fantasy drafts, indicated by his 34% ownership in yahoo leagues. Still, he showed up against the Rockets with 14 points, 3 triples, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and his trademark 4 steals. There is no reason for him to sit on any waiver wires and he is a must have in my book.

VJ Edgecombe: Paul George is out for the season opener, so the 76ers are without a staple wing player. Enter VJ Edgecombe, the #3 pick of this year’s draft, who has impressed in both summer league and the preseason and has a chance for real minutes right off the gate. He is still available in 67% of yahoo leagues and if he is indeed a starter on opening night, expect this percentage to significantly drop.

Jonathan Kuminga: Is it finally happening? After the summer saga of the renewal of his contract and his restricted free agency, Kuminga started against the Lakers and delivered with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 triples. If he can keep this up, his 38% ownership will skyrocket, so give him a look, always with tempered expectations.

Tre Jones: More of a deeper league suggestion, but the injury to Coby White makes Jones an intriguing pickup for the next 2 weeks, if he can secure the starting spot. You can count on him for some assists and low end guard stats and is widely available currently (7% owned).

1. I streamed Cason last night and was pleased. Even when J Will gets back, I like him. If I keep him, my drop would be LeVert. WDYT?
2. Kyrie was dropped. Our league is a 12 teamer, H2H, 9 cats. Playoffs in late March. Kinda hard to hold him given the nature of injuries during the year but will ask. Here’s my squad if helpful:
Gobert, Lively, Edey (IL spot)
Jalen Johnson, Mobley, Butler, Miles Bridges
Trae, Maxey, LaVine, Quickly, Cam Thomas, LeVert, Cason, Sexton.
Hold or stash Kyrie? If stash, who gets cut?
3. Would you trade away Butler and Johnson for Booker and McDaniels given my team?
Many thanks
